Hey ,
I bought a windows 7 ultimate install disc few years ago but lost my product key, just downloaded it now but need the product key , please help. How do i obtain the product key??

Sticker on the CD case or
other packaging.

Get product key for preinstalled windows 7

Hello sir, I bought this laptop (Hp pavilion dv6 6115tx Entertainment Notebook)around 4 years ago with preinstalled Windows 7 Home Premium Operating system. As you know Microsoft is going to give free upgrade to Windows 10. But the problem is that the product key below my laptop is not much visible. I am unable to identify the product key. Is there any other way to get product key of my genuine windows 7? I have recovery disk with me. but it does'nt have product key on it.Please help me... Thanks & Regards,Rushikesh Musale

Yes, you can use the same product key for 64-bit release too, as SenneVL says. But, kindly note that upgrade across is not supported and you need to perform clean install only. Also, kindly note that the Windows installation must be made in the same PC,
even if different architecture is being used. Otherwise, activation issues will arise.
Multiple architecture is supported in multiboot, so Windows 32-bit and 64-bit can be installed as multiboot environment, parallely.

Where is all Windows 7 related information, and what is my Product Key?

Hi folks,
I have a U150, I bought it from lenovo 15 days ago. And just now I realized that it has no windows related information in the package. In old times there was a sticker at the bottom of laptops that has product key, a booklet that has product key, Windows CD etc...
The only windows related sticker is on the palmrest, right hand side of the touchpad and there is windows logo on it, nothing else.
There was no CD, (this is ok of course hence no disk drive on U150), no booklet, no product key information, no piece of paper related to windows, just lenovo booklets..
Are they missing? or this is the new trend? What if I want to re-install windows without using one-key recovery button? I think I can use a program that shows Win7 product key. Not only I do not trust them, (they can send this key somewhere next time computer connects to internet), but also I want to do this right way...

I just put the battery, plug it on the wall and started using it. Never tought it might be in there, after realizing looking for it. When I am home in the evening, I'll check..

iDevices and iTunes do not have product keys....
Look elsewhere or post the REAL issue in your native language.

Sir Huffer, you used windows 7 to install. Our **bleep**ing company technician used windows 8 pro to reinstall on my pavilion ultrabook 14-b109ex when he messed up with its shrinking of c partition and did not made a recovery disk. I read elsewhere that it reflushes the firmware bios and thus changes the embedded original windows 8 home or basic to windows 8 pro cracked version compared to installing windows 7 only. Is it true that bios embedded original product key windows 8 is reflushed by windows 8 pro cracked version? Or is it true that only a desoldering of the bios can change the embedded product key by resoldering new physical bios chip? If windows 8 home can be flushed away for good by windows 8 pro where on earth can I find my original bios embedded product key. Some say the sticker is on the power supply, but wouldn't want to check because I just bought this ultrabook and have just used it for a month or two. The way it goes is that this would be a classic example of paying for a product key and throwing it out for nothing. I don't think hiding the product key is an advantage for everybody, there's always an exception. And if there's just a paid version for getting back my product key, what's the use of having a one year warranty? Thank you for hearing my grudges. At least it relieved me a lot, even there's no solution to my problem anymore.

Pavilion dv6 - How can I determine if the windows product key for Windows 7 is 64 bit or 32 bit?

The hard drive in my Pavillion dv6 had to be reformatted. I do not have a recovery disc nor a Windows 7 disc. I do have a product key on the back of the computer for Windows 7 Home Premium. How do I determine if I should install the 64 bit or the 32 bit version of Windows 7? The product number is A3E82AV, Model dv6t-7000.

Hi: All dv6-7xxx models came with W7 64 bit. That is what the license is for (although the product key would also work on a 32 bit OS). You can make your own W7 installation media and use that to reinstall Windows. Link to the W7 ISO file downloads is below. Download the applicable version of Windows 7 that is on your product key (Home Premium, Pro, or Ultimate). I just got a new Macbook Pro 13" for Christmas, and I am trying to install Windows 7 Pro 64 bit via Bootcamp. The installation went smoothly enough, but when I try to type in the product key that Microsoft gave me, it tells me that the product key is invalid. Help!

I unfortunately bought the Upgrade version of Windows 7 Home. I didn't see the part on page 5 that said a Full version had to be used until it was too late. Anyway, after the Product Key was denied I looked here to the discussions. Found this post. Followed the link to winsupersite. Since Method #1 didn't work initially bringing me here I moved on to Method #2. Modifying the regedit.exe file as instructed and then trying the Product Key again resulted in a registered copy of Windows 7. Thanks.

i have already tried the microsoft webside but it just gives me loads of windows 8 stuff.

You will need to purchase a license activation key for Windows 7 Ultimate.
HP does not install Windows 7 Ultimate version on its notebook.
That is why your attempt to upgrade from Windows Basic\Home edition\Professional to Windows 7 Ultimate is not working.

T510 - No label with product key numbers for Windows 7

I just noticed that my T510 does not have the Product key numbers for the installed OS (Windows 7 64-bit), which I find quite strange. My previous three T machines, both from IBM and Lenovo, all have those labels n the back.
What is going on and what are the possible implications?

Do you have to get a full windows disc to install on mac or can you download the full windows with a product key?

Well I've been trying to find a full installment of Windows 7 32/64 bit Ultimate/Home Edition/Professional but I can't find a disc. So basically I'm asking can I just download Windows 7 from the internet with the product key or do I HAVE TO get a disc and install it through Bootcamp?

I don't know if you can legally download a full Windows 7 installer, but if you can find one, you just need to copy the image to a flash drive. See:

Amazon has several different versions of Windows 7 available on disk, though. Have you tried them?

I had reinstall downloaded version of Windows 7due to a system failure. The only disc i have is the Lenovo Windows 7 drivers disc and it doesn't contain Windows 7. I downloaded a copy of Windows 7, then installed the Lenovo drivers but now I'm getting a message telling me I need to activate Windows 7. whats the process.

You can activate a retail Windows 7 install with your OEM key, but you will need to use the telephone activation option.
When you enter your OEM key it will fail, but should offer you the phone option. I've done it several times recently. It's a little tedious automated process but it works. At least here in the US that's how it works.
[edit] You have to install the version of Win 7 that matches your OEM key - home premium, pro, ultimate. 32 or 64 bit doesn't matter.

Can I use product key from Windows 7 32bit to 64bit?

Hi, i have a Toshiba L505-10V and the original cds(2) with Windows 7 prenium 32-bit.
I have downloaded windows 7 prenium 64bit from here http://www.techverse.net/download-windows-7-iso-x86-x64-microsofts-official-servers/
I use the key from 32 bit but it says its not valid. Is it possible to work with the same key?
Also i download belarc to recoginise my 32bit windows key and it shows me different key from that is on the base of my pc.

According notebook specification your notebook was delivered with preinstalled Win7 64bit Home Premium and you got 32bit version on recovery DVD.
Both recovery versions are designed for your notebook model and both versions contain activation code so that both versions must not be activated.
I presume you didnt create recovery disc for preinstalled Win 7 64bit version.
You cannot use product key listed in 32bit version. If you use own Windows version you must enter valid product key that you must buy from Microsoft.
