Product lifecycle
Hi all,
I wish to get a list of productlife cycle profiles maintained for various products in DP. Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks
MNair
DP offers multiple ways to do Product lifecycle most of which fall under the realm of Lifecycle profiles. there are phase-in profiles to ramp-up a product based on predefined fashion. In the same vein, there are phase-out profiles to do ramp-down of a product based on a predefined fashion. you can use Like-profiles to imitate the history of some other product. there are also ways of using weighting profile to give certain weightages to points of history. help.sap does explain this in detail. not sure if your Q was answered. PLM per se is a different module in SAP which you can also explore for your requirement.

Where can I find information regarding end of life or product lifecycle of Lenovo products
The psrefs files are chockful of great information, however, as an IT Manager, I need to be able to anticipate when models will be available for purchase, and when not. We use the Image Ultra Builder extensively to deploy or replace 5-600 laptops/ldesktops annually. If a particular model is no longer available, I have to not only forecast when I can order a certain model, but also allow a ramp-up time when I have to order a new model, build a new IUB, test it, before we introduce in the production environment. Thank you, in advance, for your help!

Configuration product lifecycle in sap
Hi,
Could you pls help me to get a configuration document for product life cycle in SAP?
Thanks,
VijeshHi,
I would recommend you have a look at the (cross-plant) material status and its related Customizing. This should help you with your product life-cycle status management:
http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_07/helpdata/en/ff/515dd249d811d182b80000e829fbfe/content.htm?frameset=/en/ff/515c2049d811d182b80000e829fbfe/frameset.htm¤t_toc=/en/ff/516a6749d811d182b80000e829fbfe/plain.htm&node_id=42
On top of that, you could leverage SAP PLM Web UI Status and Action Management for managing the status changes:
http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_07/helpdata/en/f9/8ceb3db76a401bac4c456d718d0f46/frameset.htm
For additional governance, Engineering Change Management might be applied.

Product Lifecycle for Catalyst Switches
Hi there,
I have a customer who is looking to find out what the life expectancy is for the following switching product series:
C3750
C3750-E
C4500-E
C6500-E
I particular they want to know if there are plan(s) for any of the above to be phase out in the near future. If yes--what is the projected timeframe for each? If no--how many more years can they expect the product to be viable? Likewise, are there plan(s) to expand the product line for the C3750 and C3750-E series given the "limited" model available today?
I couldn't find another other sub community to post this question. Hopefully you can forward this inquiry to the appropriate BU to address.
Thanks in advance for your assistance.

I came across ASAG presentation by the title "An Introduction into SAP’s Upcoming Product Costing Solution" from June 2014. Does anyone know what SAP roadmap for this solution looks like? Any information on when it becomes available?
Thank you,
AlexHi Alex,
I will reply to your mail.
The solution is planned to be available next year and is currently in the midst of development. We are not disclosing any further details beyond the ASUG presentation at this point to a broader audience.

Oracle Customer Hub - where do I find the product to download?
I know this sounds dumb.... but I've searched the OTN Downloads, and Edelivery but where can I go to download a trial version of Oracle Customer Hub (OCH) and Oracle Product Hub (OPH)?
Hello,
You can only find the Customer Data Hub (CDH) & Product Information Management (PIM) in Oracle supplied patches. Try to login to metalink and find the relevant information. Following are some information on CDH & PIM installation. Hope this helps:
Customer Data Hub Installation
The Customer Data Hub solution is a composite of core Trading Community Architecture (TCA) functionality as well as the Oracle Customers Online (OCO) and Customer Data Librarian (CDL) applications. In order to gain the most benefits out of the Customer Data Hub, it is recommended that implementing organizations install the 11i10 Financials Family Pack G as well as the latest TCA and Oracle Customers Online/Oracle Customer Data Librarian patch sets. These releases have been optimized for the Customer Data Hub.
The following two sections outline the optimal and minimum baselines for implementing the Customer Data Hub. Note that as CDH functionality is continually enhanced throughout future releases, the recommended baseline will be modified to reflect the latest in CDH patch set levels.
11i10 Financials Family Pack G Baseline
This document assumes the following baseline, and refers to the features available at this level:
11i10 Financials Family Pack G – 11i.FIN_PF.G (3653484)
HZ.N (3618299)
IMC.M (4017594)
Oracle 10g Database
Minimum Baseline
The following is the minimum baseline for a Customer Data Hub(for more information, see the appropriate Oracle Customer Data Hub Implementation Concepts and Strategies document version):
11i9 Financials Family Pack D – 11i.FIN_PF.D (3016445)
HZ L (3036401) + 12.0.2 consolidated roll up (3295400) + Bulk Import Consolidated Patch (3597225)
IMC K (3161885)
Oracle 9i Database
Product Data Hub
There is no comparable list for Product Information Management Data Hub (PIMDH), because that entity is only a license mechanism to gain the right to install PIM DL on a non E-Business Suite (EBS) instance. You do not install anything under a license of PIM DH,
you install only PIM DL.
You will need to install PLM family pack 'E' (Patchset 11i.PLM_PF.E - 4203793) on top of the 11.5.10 installation (11.5.10 contains family pack 'C'), for DNA to show up in the License Manager, and for you to 'activate' it for your install.
The following Metalink Note has the details of the pre- and post- install instructions.
Note *309187.1* About the Oracle Product Lifecycle Management Family (Family Pack E)
R12 Patches
Oracle Product Information Management Feature Pack Release 12.0 (Patch 6474795)

Project Lifecycle Workbench AIA 3.0
Is it mandatory to Define project details and industry Details in Project Lifecycle Workbench before starting coding? How it is usefull?
hi,
Please find the following details abt the Project Lifecycle Workbench in AIA 3.0:
This tool has no equivalent in AIA 2.x. The Product Lifecycle Workbench is supposed to facilitate functional experts’ process definition, decomposition, and service reuse during the functional analysis phase of a development lifecycle
Project Lifecycle Workbench to facilitate functional definition and decomposition of business process and to auto-generate the process artifact inventory
for more info abt Project Lifecycle Workbench AIA 3.0 find the link below which clearly explains abt it.

I need to know when CS5 goes off of support/extended spport and goes end of life.
I cannot find a decent product lifecycle map on your site anywhere...There is already no support for CS5 anymore, meaning no updates, so I'm not sure what you are asking. The rest nobody knows. There are already compatibilty issues with Windows 8 and OSX 10.9 and at one point the programs won't run on whatever is current then anymore. You could assume that Adobe may provide a version that does not require activation like they did with CS2, but everything beyond that is really irrelevant.

Regarding oracle product.
I am reviewing 1 patch for PLM_PF. I checked fnd_product_installations and it's not shwoing any PLS version.
How can I double cross check whether PLM is installed at our site or not ?>
select patch_level from fnd_product_installations where patch_level like '%PLM%';
no rows selected
>
Oracle had a module called APC (Advanced Product Catalog). The short name was EGO.
Later the module was renamed as PIM (Product Information Management); and later it was renamed to PLM (Product Lifecycle Management). The same module is also sometimes referred to as PDH (Product Data Hub).
However the application short name is still EGO.
So when you are querying patch_level from fnd_product_installations, you should use EGO.
Hope this helps,

I'm new to the world of mac, and already I'm sold. I purchased a iPod touch last night and today my brother dumped a coke on it by mistake.
Any other product would have died! but the iPod is still flawless! I have to say, the quality is much better then I ever thought.
My question is this... I want to get rid of windows and move to mac. To do so, what do I need to do to my iTunes on my PC, and also which is the better computer for my money? (mac mini or iMac)Hello and Welcome to Apple Discussions.
It depends on what you want out of a computer. The Mac Mini is a great intro to the Mac world without buying a new display etc, but it uses integrated Intel graphics and a laptop hard disk so is slower than an iMac. The iMac supports two displays the Mini only can do one, et cetra.
Have a read of this page which contains historical release data to better enable you to understand the product lifecycle:

Summarizing open items in down payment request from SD
Hello!
We have a sales order with a billing plan, let say, 20% down payment, 80% - final invoice. There are 3 items in the sales order. When creating the down payment request the system creates 1 document with 3 customer lines. We would like to have 1 document with only 1 customer line. Is it possible to summarize customer lines on the down payment request?
OSS note 213852 "Analysis of down payment processing with FI" says that summarization is not possible, but the note was issued in 2002. Were there any updates since then?
Thank you!
Edited by: Anna Strokova on Oct 7, 2008 8:58 PMHi Goutham,
I think you should have posted this question to PLM forum i.e. Product Lifecycle Management (PLM). Project System is part of PLM .
Down payment request can not be created automatically from the project structure or milestone in projects.Milestones in projects are used for billing purpose.
You can use transaction f-47 to enter down payment request.
Please refer the link below for down payment request.

This code is in a library, so I create a "hello world" to demonstrate the issue. I will post it at the end. This .net 4 framework and it's been around for a while in our code. We are starting to upgrade from XP to Win 7. Basically event log sizes
are limited to the 32667 number. So we had a test, if the string is bigger than that, then we would write it in 32000 byte chucks. On two different win7 boxes we get the "device attached" error message. Run the same code on a XP box and it works.
Oh, and the Win 7 boxes are 64 bit. I wonder if the win 7 32 bit would have the same issue? Can others duplicate it? The tmpsize seems to be different numbers, but if you play with it, you can get it down to number x works and (x+1) does not.
Here the code .....
Module Module1
Sub Main()
Dim logName As String = "BraumsLog"
Dim objEventLog As New System.Diagnostics.EventLog()
Dim needCreate As Boolean = False
Dim Source As String = ""
If Source.Length = 0 Then Source = "Test"
Dim Entry As String = "".PadLeft(64000, "1"c)
'Register the App as an Event Source
If EventLog.SourceExists(Source) Then
Dim slog As String = EventLog.LogNameFromSourceName(Source, ".")
If slog <> logName Then EventLog.DeleteEventSource(Source) : needCreate = True
Else
needCreate = True
End If
If needCreate Then EventLog.CreateEventSource(Source, logName)
objEventLog.Source = Source
'*********** New Code ****************
objEventLog.MaximumKilobytes = 20480
objEventLog.ModifyOverflowPolicy(OverflowAction.OverwriteAsNeeded, 0)
'WriteEntry is overloaded; this is one
'of 10 ways to call it
Dim tmp As String = ""
Dim tmpSize As Integer = 32000 '31890 works 31891 does not
Do While Entry.Length > tmpSize
tmp = Entry.Substring(0, tmpSize - 1)
objEventLog.WriteEntry(tmp, EventLogEntryType.Information)
Debug.WriteLine(tmp.Length.ToString)
Entry = Entry.Substring(tmpSize)
Loop
tmp = Entry
objEventLog.WriteEntry(tmp, EventLogEntryType.Information)
End Sub
End ModuleRun the same code on an XP 64 bit box and it works? XP comes in multiple flavors.
Perhaps you should compile to x86 CPU and see if it works on Win 7 64 bit. Win 7 comes in 32 and 64 bit also.
On the other hand Win 7 service pack 1 mainstream support ended on the 13th of this month. Extended support ends in 2020 supposedly. Perhaps you should upgrade to Win 8.1 instead. Win 10 is coming soon enough.
