Product Recovery doesn't work

I seem to have been having crashes on my computer so I decided to use the product recovery CDs. Every time I try to restore it, it crashes part way through writing the Ghost image to the hard disk. Could all this be due to a virus/bug on the hard drive and therefore needs formatting? If so, with a USB how do I get it to boot from USB to format the hard drive? Or is there another explanation?

When I've needed to reload my a50, I do it this way:
Back up anything that I want to keep.
Boot from the recovery DVD, then press 9 to quit to a DOS prompt
Type fdisk, then answer yes to both the questions it asks you. Select to delete all primary partitions. Exit fdisk.
Reboot from the recovery DVD again. Press one to reload the factory image.
This has worked every time for me apart from once when it wouldn't boot afterwards due to a file becoming corrupted during the restore. I restored again and it worked with no errors.

  • Windows Server 2008 - Now F11 Recovery doesn't work

    Greetings all--
    I decided to experiment with my TouchSmart 504 and installed Windows Server 2008 (32 bit).  However, since 2008 doesn't seem to like the onboard NIC, I wanted to go back to Vista 64, but now the F11 option to go into system recovery doesn't work.  No matter how many times I press it, it just goes back into W2K8.  Being something less than smart, I didn't make any recovery disks (couldn't find where to do so).  I've ordered the recovery media, but is there anything I can do in the meantime?

    You did the right thing - use recovery discs. To see if the recovery data is still on the HD, go in and see if you still have the recovery partition on the hard drive.

  • Option System recovery doesn't work

    Notebook Lenovo G50-30 (80G0) - bought a month ago. (Windows 8.1)
    Few days ago sound stopped work suddenly. I suspect that this is associated with MS Updates, which was set as automatic. I suspect because this notebook is not my. But now I have it for repair. I noticed that system work abnormally, when I try to use some function from control panel it doesn't work and control panel stop responding. For example update settings. 
    I decided restore system to factory setting, using NOVO key and option System Recovery. Unfortunately when I choose this option nothing happens and computer loading operating system as usually. I try use software OneKeyRecovery and after it sytuation is the same. 
    Important information is that system partition C was divided into two parts/partitions. And it was my first clue that something is wrong with ID partitions, but maybe i'm wrong. I change it and set one C volume.
    Diskpart shows 5 volumes (0-4), the last one is the recovery partition like below:

    Can you try to create a recovery drive and use it to Refresh or Reset Windows 8/8.1.
    If that doesn't work, you can try the folliwing to reinstall the OS:
    1. Check this guide on how to obtain a Windows 8.1 ISO (see Option One)
    2. After you set Boot Mode to UEFI in the BIOS, follow this guide to make a bootable UEFI Win8.1 installer via DVD/USB flashdrive and use it to install Windows 8.1 on the G50-30 (the installation should be able to detect the Windows 8.1 product key in the UEFI firmware that will let you activate Windows).
    Note:
    The above method (Steps 1-2) will only re-install Windows (you will need to reinstal the drivers manually from the G50-30 drivers page)

  • PSE 6 4 pc product key doesn't work red x

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Back in Oct 07 my company bought Elements 6 online. They want me to use the same product key now to begin using it, so I found a link and downloaded on my PC. Problem is the product key/serial # doesn't work and a red x appears.
    Adobe support said they can't help since they don't offer support beyong CS3 products (Elements 6 is CS2)
    Anyway, is there any way to make this completely valid key work on this newly downloaded and installed Elements 6?

    Well, first of all, that's not true (but a typical response from them). PSE 6 is based on CS3, but you won't get any help from adobe anyway.

  • MS-6702 (K8t neo) Flashed but now nothing, bios recovery doesn't work!!

     
    I updated my bios to the latest one a few weeks back and have been having problems with setting my apeture size to 256 (Noticed a few other people have too here!)
    So I reverted the bios back to the one before which I never had any problems with and now my board appears dead 
    I get no post screen and the optical drives all constantly seek for some strange reason, I've since unattached everything apart from my agp card, ram, processor and floppy drive in a bid to get bios recovery to work. Sadly it doesn't even try to read the floppy and just sits there feeling sorry for itself.
    The LED bracket stays at 4 red lights but nothing else happens. I've had this rig for over 5 months so I know it's not the components before anyone suggests it.
    This is doing my head in, thanks MSI firstly for releasing a buggy bios and secondly for killing my board

    Have you tried clearing CMOS?
    If that doesn't work your board is probably beyond recall.  You have two choices:
    1. Try to RMA it to MSI or your vendor.
    2. Replace the BIOS chip
    I have used (2) on several occasions with other vendor's systems.  This works if the chip is socketed.  I use BIOSFLASH.COM (http://biosflash.com/) - you have to ID your chip, tell them what you have, pay some money and e-mail them a copy of the binary you want programmed.  They have a well-documented procedure on their website.
    I would recommend getting at least two chips - one known good and one with the latest BIOS.  That way you can recover from another problem like this one.
    Looking at the example K8T Neo2 ATX board on MSI's site the BIOS is socketed but that may not be true of yours.  I have a K8MM-ILSR with a soldered BIOS here, so not all their BIOS chips are socketed.
    BTW, which method of flashing did you use?  From DOS, I hope...running a BIOS flash from Windows is a recipe for disaster (that's why I know about BIOSFLASH.COM)

  • Lion Recovery doesn't work on MB Air

    I'm tryin to do a clean reinstall, throught Recovery Utilities.
    I Choose to reinstall Lion, and it starts normally, but always stop at same point os status bar.

    I also did lost my WLAN connection everytime I tried to download this .dmg (either recovery mode or in "live mode" http://hints.macworld.com/article.php?story=20110831105634716). I had several issues, sometimes even my WiFi password got lost while downloading...
    I think this problem is related to the activated FileVault2 full disk encryption.
    Even after EFI Firmware Update 2.1 nothing changed.
    My configuration is: Router: Netgear TEW-631BRP and MacBook Air Mid 2011.
    Now my solution:
    I set up a
    DMZ Host
    The DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) option lets you set a single computer on your network outside of the router. If you have a computer that cannot run Internet applications successfully from behind the router, then you can place the computer into the DMZ for unrestricted Internet access.
    Note: Putting a computer in the DMZ may expose that computer to a variety of security risks. Use of this option is only recommended as a last resort.
    Maybe other Router have similar settings to disable a router firewall completly!

  • Product hierarchy doesn't works in ECC 6.0

    I'm working in a project that migrate to ECC 6.0 and now is facing an error in Material Master (MM01) when try to select a product hierarchy in Basic Data 1 view.
    When the matchcode of product hierarchy is used, the "Next level" button of popup windown doesn't open the product hierarchy. I check with an another consultant that don't remember the SAP note that fix it.
    Anyone knows this SAP note?

    Is your setup of product hierarchy consistent ? How many levels have you defined ?
    In ECC 6.0 can you let us know the support pack & the patch level details (if not sure, obtain this info from your basis person)
    Also it would help if you can upload screenshots of the setup done for the product hierarchy & the issue you face in material master.
    Just for your info, I am on ECC 6.0 & do not face this issue.

  • Windows 8 Activation after Reinstall - Product Key doesn't work

    Hello Folks!
    The hard drive on my Thinkpad Edge E135 just gave out. I replaced it and reinstalled Windows 8 with the recovery dvds
    Windows 8 keeps bugging you that you need to activate it and many features are available with an activated windos, so I really want to activate it. A program to read out the product key gave me a working key at first, but right after that it said that the key is invalid.
    "Error 0xC004C003
    It was detected by the activation server that the product key has been blocked."
    I'm really lost here and it would be very appreciated if somebody told me what I can do. Right? Lenovo. For those who do.

  • Elite Pad G1 Windows 8.1 - Recovery doesn´t works

    Hi, I have a G1 Elite Pad tablet and 3 months to have it with windows problems, the device never leave the initial window (black window with the circle loading ) and just keep the initial screen, you can wait hours and nothing happens, the OS is broken.
    We tried to restart windows with a USB in windows 32bits, etc but the BIOS never see the USB so is not possible from there.
    We do the recovery step but the same black windows appears and nothing happens in hours.
    I tried to look for help in IT with the guys in there and no body can help me.
    I would be more than happy if someone with the same issue can help me on this to back my tablet to life again.

  • Product ID doesn`t work

    Hello, we have a problem when try to put or select a material in the product ID field in a shopping cart. If I put material code directly, system doesn´t recognize that this material exists in the system (material was replicated) and if I select material code from match code, information is not transferred.

  • T420S-- USB recovery doesn't work

    Just create a USB recovery disk via ThinkVantage. It takes about 10GB( I used a 16GB USB disk). However, when I try to use it to boot the laptop, it shows " Error loading operation system". Unfortuanlly, I only can create this disk one time via ThinkVantage software. Now if my HDD is gone, I do not have any way to have it work again. Anybody have same issue? please help.   • Windows 8.1 Product Key doesn't work

    Back in November, I bought a Lenovo Y50 Laptop that came with Windows 8.1 already preinstalled. After a month or so, a message kept popping up telling me to activate windows. It then would take me to PC Settings to activate it. I could see that there was already a Product Key being used but it said i hadnt activated it yet. I found my product Key but eveytime I try to enter it, an error comes up saying "The key didn't work. please check it and try again, or try a different key"
    Also if I try to activate Windows Online it does not let me do so. Anyone have any ideas why this is happening?

    There are two things I can think of. First is that you are entering in the wrong key. As I cannot see what you are looking at I cannot tell for sure. But there are several characters that look similar like the 0 and O or the I and l. Take a look at what you see and make sure you are typing in the correct characters. There is another way to make sure. Get a copy of Belarc and run it. In the log is your Windows 8.1 key. Copy it from Belarc and paste it into Microsoft Word or some other word processor and then change the font. Some fonts will allow you to be able to tell the difference.

  • Windows 10 Technical Preview 9926 product key doesn't work

    I upgraded build 9926 for about one month and now it keeps asking me to activate. It was activated already when I installed it. 
    I‘ve tried the two product keys from another threads which are NKJFK-GPHP7-G8C3J-P6JXR-HQRJR and PBHCJ-Q2NYD-2PX34-T2TD6-233PK.
    Also tried to run command as administrator and type SLUI 3 anyway it's the same thing so... 
    The pro & Enterprise ones both not work for me. And it says I have to activate it before March 15th.

    If you download the installation media from that link above, the activation key should be this one:

    Normally, Windows 10 Technical Preview is activated automatically during installation. If you get a prompt for activation, I suggest you follow this steps:
    1. Open Administrative command prompt (Windows key+x > A)
