Product safety

Hi Team,
Please write me steps involved in "Product safety scenario".
What are the T-Codes.
What master data is required.
Thanks

Hello
Steps involved in Product Safety are
1) Create / maintain Specification Data using CG02
2) Generate Specification using Template and Generation variant = CGO2
3) Check and release the document for further use = CG50
4) Assign Material to specification and assign environmental relevancy indicator to material master  via  MM02
5) Triggering Shpping -VAO1
6) Report Shipping - CVD1
Master Data
Specification = P182
Generation Variants = MSDS_US1
Material Master = P182 / P182A
Customer = C182 / C183

  • Product Safety Automatic MSDS shipment

    Hi everybody,
I am doing a feasiblity study on implementing the product safety module for MSDS shipment. I would like some clarification on the implementation steps.
The scenario is: MSDS documents are created and stored outside SAP.
I am able to create the substance. a template and a variant.
Since the documents are created in PDF format outside SAP, I don't know If a WWI server should be installed in this case?
I am not able to generate a report. No data is found...Maybe a missing config??
What is a good a approach to link n material to n MSDS documents?
    Thank You
    Joni

    Hello Joni,
In order to use EH&S Report Shipment you need to have a WWI server installed.
Even if you want to to send and print MSDS that have been created outside of SAP.
Furthermore you need to upload these MSDS into SAP EH&S for the whole process to work.

You can not generate documents within EH&S Product Safety without a WWI Server.
But why do you want to create documents if the MSDSs are created outside of SAP?

You can use TR CG36VEN to upload MSDSs.
    Hope this helps
P.s.: There are two 'Cookbooks' available: one for Report Shipment and one for WWI servers. They have been posted in this form...

  • How to DOWNLOAD WWI reports(EH&S, Product Safety, Reports) to a local file

  • Report release - Product Safety

    Hi all,
I read on the SAP help portal, and I read this portion on the report release process. One of the example shown is like the following process flow:
    1st - GS u2013 Report generated successful
2nd u2013 R1: Report accept by the Toxicologist
3rd u2013 R2: Report accept by the lawyer
4th u2013 CO: last status complete
    5th u2013 RE: Report released.
My question is why a report create in EHS environment has to go through so many status (i.e. by several party) before it is finally released.
I am trying to understand from the point of business in EHS environment.
    Can someone explain to me?
    Thanks,
    Karen.

    Hi Karen,
In EHS,the reports which are created or distributed need to be legally compliant considering the environement impact of the substance .So in the creation phase, the template is made and the report is created as per the R&D persons or those who know the specific properties of the substance(Experts who know the properties of substance)
Once the report is ready this need to be analysed by the concerned departments for the properties / subsance characteristics by the toxicologist or some one who is familiar with the physical and chemical properties of the substance( Like exposure to the environment or toxicity in water, air etc) .Once they approve, the report should be checked for the legal compliance. For example,in which validity area ,what regulations etc..this is done and approved by some one from legal department.
Once all the approvals are done, the report is in completed phase. Now the same can be released/distributed across an interface.
Programs RCVDDISP,RCVDEVEN and RC1wwiwp trigers in background in report generation.
    Hope this helps
    Thanks

  • Error on WWI server EHS_GLM_GENSERV: Results file not found on production

    Hi Experts,
I need some help/advice. We have issues with our new EH&S WWI server.
This new setup working OK with Dev and QA (the WWI and GLM part is just fine), We did try to link this server to production then it gives below error.
Only difference between  existing WWI QA and production server is that
Existing QA and development WWI server installed at location C:\Program Files (x86)\EHS\WWI
And Same path maintain on new server C:\Program Files (x86)\EHS\WWI
But existing production WWI server installation path  is  different C:\Program Files\EHS\WWI
So is there any customizing changes required from SAP side to avoid this error on production
Can you please advise on this.

    Hello Gajanan,
the path of the temporay workfolder can be configured in the IMG. Often this path is setup as the WWI server installed location but it is just a temporay workfolder which must exist on the WWI server. The path can be configured under:
For ECC 6.0 Ehp 0-2 and lower
Environment, Health and Safety -> Basic Data and Tools -> Basic Settings -> Specify Environment Parameters
    For ECC 6.0 Ehp 3-6
Environment, Health and Safety -> Product Safety -> Global Label Management -> Make Settings for Basic Data
    For ECC 6.0 Ehp 7
Environment, Health and Safety -> Global Label Management -> Set Basic Data and Tools for Global Label Management -> Make Settings for Basic Data

  • MSDS Basic steps to create Material safety data sheet

    Dear Friends ,
currently i am exploring how to create and Maintain MSDS in SAP
what are the basic steps to do that , and where those MSDS is integrated to other module
please give some overview , let me start from there
    Thanks & Regards
    Raj

    HI Raju,
For Your question "the difference between Real substance and substance"?
In EHS terminology we consider each material as a substance.
In SAP EHS, Specification management is categorized into 5 types.
    Substance
    Agent
    Packaging
    Waste code
    Dangerous goods classification
In substance (1 of the above 5), once again defined as different specification types like:
    Real Substance
    Listed Substance, etc.,
Real Substance: A real substance is one that physically exists in a company
For ex: If you take a pharmaceutical industry.
For making the Anacin Tablet (Substance), We need substances like ASperine, caffeine, etc.,
These 2 will be called as 2 real substances (physically existing in the company).
These 2 real substances can be used in some other substance (Material) preparations.
Listed Substance: substance whose properties are described in laws and scientific literature.
listed substances are not manufactured, traded, or procured.
For Second Question: what is Pharse ? and where it is used?
Phrase is a Standardized text that can be used in EH&S reports like MSDS & Trem cards, etc.,
    *********************************XXX*************************************XXX*************************
Now I come to your main question " Basic steps of MSDS Creation"
MSDS is a form with data regarding the properties of a particular substance.
We use SAP EH&S, "Product safety" module to maintain the MSDS.
It is one of the legal requirement to maintain the Information about the chemicals, which are using in the industry.
There is a standard format with 16 steps using globally For MSDS.
    1. Product and Supplier Identification.
    2. Composition
    3. Hazards Identification
    4. First Aid measures
    5. Fire fighting measures
    6. Accidental measures
    7. Handling storage
    8. Exposure controls
    9. Physical and chemical Properties
    10.Stability & Reactivity
    11.Toxicological Information
    12.Ecological Information
    13.Disposal consideration
    14.Transport Information
    15.Regulatory Information
    16.Other Information
We need to maintain appropriate data in our database, to retrieve the report as mentioned above.
    Integration:
Main integration with MM (material Management) Module, by assigning the material with substance.
Second Integration with SD module, if customer requirement is to extract the MSDS for each delivery.
    (Not necessary for MSDS reporting)

  • Report Management-Produt Safety

    Dear All,
In Product safety, I have created substance in CG02 and maintained required datas. Also maintained MSDS datas in property tree.
Created Report with variant and language selection as EN. Same has been created.
In Report release CG56, Created MSDS report is not releasing, updated many times and tried to release and accept.but status not changing to released. Still in GP.
In CGSADM server running and CG5z also checked found ok.
    How to release the MSDS.
Hope all friends will help on this issue.
    Regards,
    Guna

    Hello Guna,
If you see the status GP in CG50 that means that your report body has been send to the WWI Report generation (GP = Generation Possible).
In status GP you can not release the report body because the report did not get created yet.
If it stays in that status for a long time something is wrong with your WWI report generation.
Before I go into details what might be the cause of this let me ask you if you have ever been able to generate WWI report bodies - or if this is your first try.
First think I would check is if your WWI generation server is up and running.
Therefore go to TR CG5Z and put your cursor on the orange line for the WWI servers(s) / 'WWI Work process(es)' - the line normally has a somthing like 'SV001' in it.
Than go to 'Utilities' -> 'Test Server' you should get a popup with some detaile dinformation about your WWI server.
If you don't get this popup make sure that the service for WWI is up and running - your RFC connection is set up correctly etc...
If you get a pop up make sure that the line(s) for the WWI Work process have green  icons - if not activate the job (RC1WWIWP) by putting your cursor on the that WWI Server line and go to 'Utilities' -> 'Activate Server'.
Hope this helps for the start.

BTW - I posted a official SAP Note on here on the forum that goes over the set up of the generation servers in detail....

  • Manager says he needs an SAP Environmental, Health, and Safety Person

What are the buzz words for this module?
It is completely new to me and I don't know where to begin
    annak

    Hi Anna,
SAP EH&S consists basically of 5 different modules:
    - Product Safety
    - Hazardous Substance Management
    - Dangerous Goods Management
    - Waste Management
    - Occupational Health & Industrial Hygiene and Safety
A good starting point should be the SAP Online Documentation: <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_47x200/helpdata/en/a5/3adda043be11d188fe0000e8322f96/frameset.htm">http://help.sap.com/saphelp_47x200/helpdata/en/a5/3adda043be11d188fe0000e8322f96/frameset.htm</a>
All modules are using a specification database where you can store data based on classes and characteristics in SAP's class system as well as compositions, identifier, material assignments, usages, ...
Based on the data you can do calculations with rulesets. For example based on a certain environmental regulation that tells you: <i>if your product contains xx% of this substance you have to label it as toxic</i>. Then you can generate Material Safety Data Sheets for your products or other relevant documents (depending on the module) and ship them to your customers.
    Hope it helps,
    Andreas

  • Print out of MSDS

    Hello,
I would like to take a print out of following document when i do the business transaction.
1.if do the GR in MIGO i should get label.
2.When i do the delivery in VL01N i need to get MSDS.
    3.And SOP as well.
can you please tell me what is the procedure and how to do this.
    Thanks for your help.

    Shrithar,
What you require may be in scope of "Output Determination".
IMG Path: Environment, Health & Safety- > Product Safety -> Report Shipping -> Basic Setting for Shipping from SD Documents -> Material Safety Data Sheets/Sales and Distribution Interface -> Settings for the SD Interface: Shipping -> Output Determination ...
    -> Check Output Types
    -> Check Conditions
    -> Check Output Determination Procedures
For more information, see the SAP Implementation Guide (IMG) under Logistics Execution -> Shipping -> Basic Shipping Functions -> Output Control -> Output Determination -> Maintain Output Determination for Outbound Deliveries -> Maintain Output Types.

  • BOMBOS interface "warning" message after changes saved in the BOM.

    Hello,
We our client is facing an issue, regarding BOM change / Modification in CS02.
After any modifications saved in the BOM (transaction CS02), in SLG1 transaction system gives u201Cwarning messageu201D as given below.
    1.     Entry already exists in the work list
For components, system is giving following message.
    2. Item material PPA_FORM_NU001 (Material number) is not assigned to a specification
We found one note for this u2013 u201Csapnote_0000893616_BOMBOS_Specification not foundu201D, this note is already applied in the program by SAP at 2005.
Because of this note, program creates the message in SLG1.
We also found that, in the IMG customization >>>
Environment Health & Safety > Product Safety > Bill Of Material Transfer > Specify Environment parameter & condition for the parameter u201CBOMBOS_WL_DIALOGu201D parameter value is u201CXu201D. If we remove this value, then system gives error message in the SLG1.
    We want to know,
    1.     Why we have such entries in SLG1?
    2.     What is the goal of this standard BOMBOS interface?
    3.     What is the impact of this warning message in the process of the transaction?
    4.     To solve this, is there any solution?
    Please confirm us.

    Hi all,
Transaction CG36: .Key files are successfully checked by u2018Check directoryu2019 in transaction CG36. The second step is the import process. The Import shows u2018greenu2019 successfully. But the Job description shows the following message:

During the report import (CG36, Dok-X), the workstation application is defined using the FFT entry in the key file, as displayed above, the key file as FTT=PDF defined correctly.
We have processed the customizing settings which are required and described under: Report Import: Check Additional Settings (under EH&S u2013 Product Safety > Interfaces > Import and Export > Basis Settings for Import and Export).
Is anybody familiar with the issue: No file format in the key file?
What do I do wrong? Is the above Key file structure incorrect?
Is configuration in SAP DMS required?
    Thank you in advance.
    Kind regards,
    Roy Derks

    Hello Roy
my assumption would be: there is a typing error in the key file. If the content of the key files is like what you have published you must use in the key file
    FFT=PDF
    and not
    FTT=PDF.
No further information is necessary and the other data seems to be perfect.
    With best regards
    C.B.
PS: if necessary my be you could check DMS customizing. By standard EH&S implemenation a document type "IBD" should be there whiich is used for e.g. pdf file.
PPS: I have no idea why the reimport check does not show up this issue.

  • Should i use a third party charger or the apple charger

    for a white macbook

Use a genuine Apple power adapter.
Third party chargers use inferior parts and often bear fraudulent markings from consumer product safety agencies. Using them can be hazardous to you, your MacBook, and other property due to the potential for fire, electric shock, or damage as a result of exceeding the MacBook's power supply tolerances.
It is very difficult to determine if a charger is an actual Apple product from an external inspection, and an internal inspection revealing its deficiencies destroys the adapter. If it's on eBay, it is very likely to be counterfeit.

  • Issue while generating Report

I am trying to generate a rport and it is going in Generation running mode.
I checked CG5Z and the line item created there is not getting assigned to the Server defined.
I tested the RFC and generation server they are properly defined.
I ran program RC1WWIWP as a job and got the following meassage :
No valid generation server defined; WWI work process is terminated
In customizing o have define 2 servers and tested there RFC connection as well
Can somebody suggest what can be the issue.
    Anoop

    Hello Anoop
as explained in some different thread: There is the dispatcher running as a job etc.
This dispatcher checks the amount of reports to be generated by the WWI workprocesses (raw reports, final reports etc.) and then pass on the request to that WWI destination which is "free". Then the WWI workprocess takes over the work and should run through (if the WWI does not crash on WWI server or the RFC connection is lost etc.)
But there is the option to do something in Customizing to use some function module etc. so that you "force" the dispatcher to use only WWI GEnserver 1 and not 2 based on some "parameters" which can be analzed. I am not sure if you have done that.
So I am sorry: i need more details regarding your topic.
    With best regards
