"Product you are trying to install is not genuine" - Adobe Application Manager error message.

Trying to launch the AAM and getting the error message that says "Adobe Genuine Software Validation Failure. The product you are trying to install is not an Adobe Genuine Software and appears to be counterfeit".
I've been subscribed to the creative cloud for four months, never had any trouble before, I'm not trying to download anything and nothing on this computer is counterfeit.
Any help?

Hello,
This behavior is due to a known issue (details at http://blogs.adobe.com/psirt/2012/09/security-advisory-adobe-to-revoke-code-signing-certif icate-apsa12-01-2.html). Fortunately, the solution is simple.
You need to download the latest version of Adobe Application Manager from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4773. After you install it, the error will go away.

Amit

That's a good question. I may have installed FP 10.1 Beta in many of the attempts to resolve the issue. I've scanned my registry for any reference to Flash and removed anything that remotely resembles Flash Player (of course backing up Registry first). I've run uninstall_flash_player.exe, which doesn't appear to do anything. I've checked logs and there's no reference to Flash Player being installed.
When I go to the link provided ( http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/) I get the messageThe version of Adobe® Flash® Player ActiveX that you are trying to install is not the most current version. Please visit http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer to obtain the latest, most secure version. and when I look at the log (install.log) I see an attempt to install Flash Player. • The version that you are trying to install is not the most current version

I have multiple snapshots of this one. I am trying to install Adobe Flash Player on a Windows7 64bit machine from adobe.com. I keep getting the following error:
The version of Adobe Flash Player ActiveX that you are trying to install is not the most current version. Please visit (adobewebsite) to obtain the latest, most secure version.
This is the message that I am getting from Adobe.com website!
I tried uninstalling multiple times + reinstalling, same error. I tried offline installing, same error (is not the most current version).
    Help?

Hi, It may be helpful if you read over this troubleshooting guide by Adobe.
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/191/tn_19166.html
If you decide to Uninstall and Install again, I would use the "executable" which you can download to your Desktop.
Have you previously installed any beta version? I'm sure you know you need to use the 32bit browser since Flash Player
is not supported on the 64bit.
The Anti-Virus/Firewall, Security Settings for IE, Permission requirement are important. Also the necessity of Rebooting twice after the Uninstall for IE, to make sure old files are removed.
If you have any questions, just post back.
    Thanks,
    eidnolb

  • Keep getting message that the product I am trying to load is not an Adobe Genuine Product

I keep getting a message that says Installation failed.  The product you are trying to load is not a Adobe Genuine Product and appears to be counterfeit!!!??  What do I do next?  The products were purchased from Adobe

    All;
I'm still working with Adobe; however, I may have a unique problem as
explained by Adobe Support: I purchased what is known
as a one user License of a Volume License from a supplier for a CS6
Upgrade from CS5. I had purchased the CS5 direct from Adobe and this is
considered to be a Retail version and not a Volume Licensed product. Adobe
says that you need to upgrade from a licensed version to a licensed
version. They provided me with a link and instructions to upgrade from my
retail version; however, so far it is not installing with the serial number
that was provided. I will contact Adobe next Tuesday after the holiday and
see if the problem can be resolved.
I don't know if this helps you or not. I will try to give you updates.
    Regards;
    Bob J.

  • "The version of the Player that you are trying to install is lower than what is currently installed" when installing 14.0.0.176

I've been deploying flash updates thru SCCM for a long time using the MSI.  With this update, many computers updated successfully, but about 200+ of them failed.  Each computer I have looked at has the message "Product: Adobe Flash Player 14 ActiveX -- The version of the Player that you are trying to install is lower than what is currently installed." in event viewer.  Attempting a manual install of the MSI produces a similar interactive message.  The current installed version is definitely older than the one I am attempting to install.  I am only able to re-mediate by manually uninstalling, and then installing 14.0.0.176.  I could script and deploy an uninstaller, but I would rather the bug with the MSI be fixed.

    Dear María,
Finally, I have been able to reproduce the error, both in ActiveX and plugin installers updating from version 15.0.0.246.
    Here you have the logs:

  • Error : The version of Adobe Flash you are attempting to install is not the most current version

    1. I was upgrading from Adobe CS5 and based on Adobe's own recommendations I uninstalled all Adobe products prior to installing Adobe Creative Suite. This included not only Adobe CS5 but ALSO FLASH v16.
    2. After uninstalling all Adobe products (including Flash 16) I rebooted the computer and installed the latest build generated for Adobe Create Suite.
    3. After installing Adobe Create Suite I attempted to reinstall Flash but it will not let me install it.
    4. The error received is "The version of Adobe Flash you are attempting to install is not the most current version".
    5. Flash is NOT installed and when running the "Is Flash Present" test from Adobe's site the answer is NO.

  • The item you are trying to edit has not yet been processed by iTunes Match

"The item you are trying to edit has not yet been processed by iTunes Match and any changes you make could be lost. Are you sure you wish to continue to edit information?"
How long is this supposed to take? I have some tracks that haven't been "processed" for days now.

I had this same problem. It was driving me crazy and I finally figured it out. On my main computer, I keep an actual file for of all my music. None of it lives solely in the cloud. However, on all my other iTunes Match devices, I stream all my music from the cloud (which includes songs I've purchased from iTunes as well as ones I've imported myself). One song in particular was stuck in limbo with the exact message you wrote. This particular song is not available in the iTunes Music Store. I didn't want to delete the file and reimport it because I like keeping all my play count and date added info. My other devices linked to my iTunes Match account knew that the song existed, but it could never actually play this particular song. I'd always get an error message.
Here's the solution: On another computer that's linked to your iTunes Match, delete the song. It will only ask you if you want to delete it from iCloud as the song file doesn't actually live on that computer. If you say yes, on the original computer where the song file lives, you'll now see the song file has a cloud icon with the X in it. From there, you can control-click on the song file and select, Add to iCloud. Then, it will add it to iCloud and will no longer be stuck "processing."

  • IE Error: "The content you are trying to view is not supported in the current Document Mode..."

My Captivate 7 project (HTML5) runs just fine on my computer in IE11. My client tried to run it from IE9 and got the following error:
"The content you are trying to view is not supported in the current Document Mode of Internet Explorer. Change the Document Mode to Internet Explorer 9 Standards and try to view the content again. To change the Document Mode, press F12, Click Document Mode:, and then select Internet Explorer 9 Standards."
My guess is that they're running it over their LAN, and IE is subsequently running in quirks mode.
I've changed the metadata in index_SCORM.html from
    <meta http-equiv="x-ua-compatible" content="IE=10">
    to
    <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=edge,chrome=1">
we'll see if that fixes it....

I've seen a lot of threads about getting rid of these kind of messages. Those messages are there for a reason most of the time. If you have CSS animations or other HTML5 standards that cannot be rendered in IE9 they won't magically start working becuse you got rid of a message. I use IE9 since that is the minimum standard for the client. I have never seen that message publishing to HTML5 content.
IMO, if your client has IE9 I think that you should develop with IE9 in mind not IE11.
When you say "develop with IE9 in mind not IE11" do you mean use SWF instead of HTML5? I used the standard question types, and a converted PowerPoint presentation. I didn't add anything out of the ordinary.

  • HT5581 Somehow my QuickTime player is no longer. I tried to download it again and it keeps telling me that the feature you are trying to install is on a network resourse that is unavailable. What does that mean to a novice like myself?

For some reason my Quick Time player no longer works or even show up in my programs list. I tried downloading it again and  the message I get is "The feature you are trying to install is on a network resourse that is unavailable." It somehow is gone and I don't understand why. I am a novice so any help should be simple for me to understand. Thank you.

"The core node you are trying to access was not found, it may have been deleted. Please refresh your original page and try the operation again" ????   Typical USELESS Microsoft response!!  I attempted to leave a message in the Forum but as usual with anything Microsoft I either get the above response or pure Gobbledegook!

Hi Claudius, Thanks for your reply, I use Firefox because like everything Microsoft Internet Explorer does what Microsoft wants it to do instead of what their Customer wants to do! As they now are by Forcing me to use Skype! However I am using Firefox 18.02 on Windows 7 Professional on a Lenovo Thinkpad Edge 15 Laptop.. I live in a Rural Village where I receive usually less that 2Mbps with not much hope of fulfilling David Cameron's Promise of superfast Broadband for all by the end of 2013? But then that is a Politician's Promise! I really cannot remember where or when this undecipherable message occurred but on four occassions I had signed in and attempted to leave a question in different parts of this forum so I gave up and contacted you! This is my argument about Microsoft destroying the only thing that works correctly and replacing it with things that never work properly!!  Sorry I can't give you any more information, But as I said before Microsoft or skype in this instance give messages that are impossible to understand and even the professionals cannot work out what the problem is?  Why not a simple code that gives at least some idea where within the coding the problem occurred instead of an indecipheral message about a "Core Node"  Whatever that may be?

With that particular variety of 1606 (it's a 1606 error message even though the 1606 error message number isn't returned by the iTunes installer), the following Microsoft document is worth a try:
You receive an "Error 1606" error message when you try to install or remove a Microsoft program

  • I tried to install the new iTunes & I get an error message

I tried to install the new iTunes & i got an error message & i have already deleted all apple related things & reinstalled them. Now a message that says something about verify my apple mobile device keeps coming up & i have no idea how to fix this problem.

... not likely to be a LSP thing, then.
Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, can you get a normal iTunes install to go through properly now?
If instead you get an error message during the install (or uninstall), let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)
