Production and Other Overheads posting to Production Orders

Hi All,
I need a clarification regarding Production Orders,
I have created a PP Production for 10 finished qauntity, I have posted material consumtion to the order in MB1A Tcode with 261 movement type.
But how to post actual cost to the order. From HR Module, Salaries GL are getting upldated, Out of that some of the employees related plant.
Saleries cost and other activity cost( Actuals), how can i allocate to Production Orders and on what basis.
Please advice me in this regards, let me know if i am thinking in wrong way.
Regarsd,
Ganesh

Hi,
u can allocate salrary cost ect to production orders.
first of all salary should be a primary cost element.
u can allocate on the basis of hours or any other relevant factor , the factor should be available in ativity type list, other wise u have to create activity.
in the cost center assessment u can use salary cost element and settle on prodcution orders , u can manully enter amount or u can decide to allocate based on activity quantity in order to do so ur settlement profile must allow posting on production orders..
points if information useful

  • (Windows 8.1) My iTunes takes a while to open, freezes and doesn't recognize any apple device plugged into it.  I've uninstalled iTunes and other software components in the order I was told but still end up with the same result. Why is that?

Why is iTunes for Windows 8 (8.1) taking so long to boot up, not recognizing an apple device and freezing after a proper uninstall and reinstall?

Hmm....I just had another thought.  All the machines are running Win7 SP1, BUT the 2 that can sync with MSE installed are 32bit versions, however the one that can't is 64bit.  Not sure if that makes any difference though.  All are clean installs with Win7SP1 media, not SP1 installed later.

  • Collective production order---GR/GI problem

    Dear guru
My scenerio is collective production order. I have created PUMP header material and 2 component in that component i have maintained 52 special procurment key . and automatically 3 production order are created .
Now I want to create a stock of header material (PUMP) .
Actually I tried through MB31 and I do GR of header material and stock is also created to this material .
but my question is wht about chlid component ? that child component production order is still in MD04 .
so how it will consume . or  have i made some mistake or tell me rt.  scenerio.of (GR/GI)?

    Dear,
GR is done for Main order only and document also post for main order. This is standard SAP funcitionality.
Confirmation is carried out same as normal Production order,
If u do the confirmation for suborder in the collective structure - the automatic goodsmovements taken place between the production orders in collective structure.
Since suborder materail is directly produced , when confirm the "suborder", the produced qty will issued automatically to "superior order".
There is no seperate goods issue is needed for superior order in collective order structure.
After confirming the suborder, u can confirm the superior order, and make GR for finished product.
For above process "Collective order with goods movements" check box should be activated for Order type at OPJH
    Hope clear to you.

  • Overheads to be posted on Production Order

    Hi,
If anyone could tell me how to post overheads on production order without using a costing sheet.
    Regards,

    Hi,
I have tried two options 1. I have used manual cost allocation to get overhead to be posted to Production ORder.
    2. I have defined Costing Sheet PP-PC Standard Cost Sheet but the overhead is not getting calculated on the order. If you could help me in explaining the steps to define costing sheet & also how the overheads will get posted to order after defining costing sheet.

  • GR for production order post to cost center and not to the production order

    Hi all,
when we post the goods receipt for the finished product against the production order (mov. type 101), the order is not credited with the corresponding stock value. Instead of this, the value accounts to a cost center.
We specified this cost center in OKB9 (Default account assignment), because if not, we get an error when posting the goods receipt cause of lacking accounting object.
I can't see why the system does not credit the production order?
    Any ideas?
    Thanks for your time
    Daniel

    Hi Daniel,
This is the first time i am coming across an issue like this.
    neverthless from a logical front,
    1. Remove Cost center as a valid receiver in Settlement Profile.
    2. Your OKB9 setting are pretty much good. No need to worry about it.  Becasue, OKB9 only will work if the system doesn't identify any other cost object. In this case Production Order is an automatic cost object which system should have taken.
    3. Check the Settlement rule when you have created Production Order. It should have been MAT.
    4. I hope you are creating Production Order with Material (using CO01 and not CO07)
    5. Make sure in OPL8, the default rule in controlling tab is PP1.
Once all these are fine, i do not see any reason why you will get your probelm.
Please check and revert back to me if the problem still persists.

  • Problem in overhead calculation of production order after TECO

    Dear All,
Just for reconfirmation can you tell me what is the actual sequence of steps used in Closing of Production order i.e
First we have to do TECO of an order and then we have to calculate Overhead.(KGI2).
I am asking this question because i have observed that  order which are get TECO before Overhead calculation, if you see the cost analysis, system will not update overhead value in order and the difference get posted in Variances after settlement.
If we have to do vice versa then there will be the problem as user do the TECO of an order as an when production order completed, overhead calculation is the work of costing department and they will do it at month end only hence system will always post variance for the overhead value.
    Kindly suggest.
    Regards,
    Shayam

    Hi,
Normally, you need to check the transactions allowed when the status TECO is set. However, status is set only when the sequence of the steps are completed during month end. Transactions like the WIP, variances, settlement etc as you may have bach jobs running to set the status.
    Kind Regards

  • Actual Overhead rates on Production Orders

There is a function that let you recalculate overhead rate for actual?
I mean for example, when you use activity types in production orders, during confirmations planned price is posted to orders, then at the period end closing you can calulate actual price (KSII) and then revaluate production orders with this new price (CON2)
Is there something like this for overhead rates? p.j. if your actual rate is $3.00 by produced unit. Then at the end of the month is there any transaction that compare actual expenses and actual production and determine new rate? example $3.5. In order to revaluate production orders?
    Thanks

    Hi Espinosa
    Welcome to SDN!
I guess your question is to check if there is a mechanism to auto calculate the overhead rate in the system....
Sorry, there is no such mechanism.. You need to manually calculate and maintain it in KZM2 or KZZ2... Then revaluate the prod orders with new rate using CO43....
However, I find it painful and boring.. Hence, I have developed a workaround which I prefer to use always...
You need to decide on what basis you would like to absorb your overhead... Say, Machine hrs, lab Hrs or Output.... Lets assume you choose Output (KG) to absorb the overhead
    1. You need to create an Activity Type called PRDOVH and assign it in the PP Work center... Assign the cost element of this act type to a separate cost component in OKTZ
    2. While creating the Routing, the Activity Qty = Operation Qty for this Act Type... i.e. If you are creating routing for 100 Units, specify the Act Qty for PRDOVH as 100...
    3. The Formula in the work center will be fully variable for this Act Type.. i.e. the Act Qty should change in proportion to the Qty Confirmed....
    4. The PP Guys will confirm the operation in PP... This Act Type will also get confirmed along with it
    5. Now calculate Act Price KSII as usual and run revaluation... From this point onwards, follow the normla procedure which you follow in month end

  • Additive cost not seen in production order and while settling hits PRD

I am using additive costs for my product costing via CK74n.
Cost estimate looks good since I have the valuation variants setup to include additive costs.
But when I see the production order that is being created, all others costs are being considered except additive costs. They are recognized but not as a line item instead as a variance. When I settle the order the costs actually hit price difference account and not even the GL account that I had assigned for the additive cost. SAP did not consider the cost as variance even if it was showing up as variance initially. This as I understood is partly because of the settlement rule that I have in place which tells SAP to go and settle on the material (which is standard SAP to do since I want all the costs from the production order to settle on the eventual material going into stock) so SAP went on to settling on the material. Since the material is set as standard price the variance is being booked as a price difference entry.
Ideally I would have expected the additive cost getting debited to the order and credited to the gl account that I assigned for the additive cost. The eventual cost (incl. additive cost) should hit the inventory.
    Am I missing a step?

    Hi Sapluver,
Appreciate your prompt response..Please see my response in italics
Few queries related to your post.
    1. So your standard cost got two part, one with quantity structure ( materials, labor, OSC etc) which the system cost automatically and one manual part, which is your additive cost. While costing system picks up this manual part from CK74N.
I hope this part you got correct. Yes, the cost estimate is reading from both the qty structure and the additive costs and the cost roll-up is coming up correctly
    2. Now in actual cost controlling, i think System is not sure how to valuate your additive cost actual part.I agree, the additive cost does appear in the cost analysis section of the production order but does not show up as a line item initially. Instead it comes up as a difference item right in the bottom of the screen after totals have been displayed without any line item reference. As if the system is not sure how to display the line item. Once I have done the material issuance confirmation to the order, the additive cost got picked up correctly as I have set it up in the cost component structure as material overhead but again shows up only as variance
Which method you used to debit your production order with additive cost, is it a normal journal entry or through some automatic posting through routing ( example OSC through Purchase order/Good Receipt).I probably need to understand your point more clearly? I am not manually debiting the production order at all for the additive cost. I was expecting SAP to debit the order the same way it does for overheads. Overheads too initially show up as variance but then when we run the overhead calculation KGI2 the overheads costs get debited to the production order. Was expecting similar behavior for additive costs. I am receiving the finished product from the production order into stock via MIGO goods receipt movement type 101. I was expecting the debit to happen perhaps at the time of settlement via CO88 but here the system posted it to the price difference account via account key PRD. This I understand the system did because the settlement rule is set to post all the costs on the material and the material has the valuation control as standard price; so the system is seeing the additive cost as a price difference hence posting it to the price difference account.
System is unaware of the additive cost from actual cost point of view, there is no specification to additive cost from costing variant for actual cost. So you have to debit the order with the additive cost part.So do I manually debit the order with the additive cost? What about the price difference additive cost sitting on the order? Would appreciate if you can tell me the process steps for posting this correctly
    regards

  • Production Order and Internal Order for each item of the sales order

    Hi
I am developing Make To Order Report where I have to display the MTO Line Items and non MTO Line Items. For non MTO Line Items I have to display Internal order with Planned and Actual Costs and also Production Order with Planned and Actual Costs. Could anybody tell how to get the Internal order no and production order with Planned and Actual costs for each line item for a sales order.
    Thanks
    Naga

    Hi,
You can get the Production orders, Planned orders, Internal orders generated for Sales order item from AFPO table (use fields KDAUF-Sales order number & KDPOS-Sales order item). Then to identify the order type use order category (AUTYP) from table AUFK.
Once you have the Production/internal order, you can ge the cost from COSS and COSP table. Use the object number from AUFK to get the cost entries from COSS & COSP.
You can use the following sample code as reference.

  • Production order creation - posting period is not open

    Dear All,
Could you please explain me what the impact on CO/FI is when I create a production oder? Indeed, the posting period is not open in OB52 but I am wondering why the System issues this message when I use CO01 or CO40.
    Thanks
    D.

    Hi d,
Whenever a production order is created or converted to planned orders, each of these orders carries some activities
which are linked to cost elements in CO and GL accounts in FI.  The system gives you an alert that if posting periods
are not open you cannot settle the production order.  If production order is pending that results in Work in progress
which carries gl accounts relevant to be posted in the particular period.
    Regards,
    Sadashivan

We recently upgraded SP level (SAP_BASIS) from 15 to 30 on ECC6 side, SAP Basis Component on SCM side has been remaining unchanged with release 700 level 016.
We now observe the message is unexpectively NOT raising anymore so-that the configuration can be freely adjusted; reason seem to be a different CUOBJ between the SO and its production order; please not the issue do not take place when creating the production order directly from ECC6 through CO08.
Would you please help to clarify the reason of such a behaviour? Thanks in advance.
Remark: snote 1326891 has been patched but w/o any added value as it do not really apply (= CTP not used)

Below as an illustration CUOBJ from VBAP versus CUOBJ from AFPO
Both WO have been created from APO, difference is the first one was created prior our SP level upgrade. I have to admitt CUOBJ mechanism between ECC & APO is quite unclear, below CUOBJ found when reading planned order data with FM /SAPAPO/RRP_LC_ORDER_GET_DATA (reading executed prior conversion, same outcome when reading prior its creation)

  • Good issue to Production order - Allows it in back posting date

    Dear all,
Good issue to Production order ( 261 Movement ), allows us to post the component in back dated eventhough stock is not avaible on that date.
Example - Component stock on date 10.02.2010 = Zero , I made it Good receipt on date 18.02.2010 and now stock is available on date 18.02.2010.
Now GI to Production it allows the qty on current and back Posting date also , I want control on date with error message. It should not allowed the GI for back date from 18.02.2010.
Because of this our MB5B report shows the negetive issue qty if i post in back date.
    Waiting for reply
    Thanks and Regards,
    Saurabh

    Hi SAurabh,
PLease check whether Negative Stock is allowed for the valuation Area (plant).
GOTO >> SPRO >> MM>> Invetnroy management and physical inventory >> Goods issue/ Transfer Posting >> Allow Negative stock.
Untick the Negative stock allowed for your valuation area (PLant)
