Production date in mm/yyyy format at MIGO
Hi All,
I am doing MIGO for a purchase order and entering the production date for a batch managed material. I have noticed that if I enter the date in format mm/yyyy i.e 10/2010 then the date is interpreted as 10/20/2010. Is there a way I can force it to accept and enter production date in mm/yyyy format only.
Thanks a lot.
Hi ,
In users profile own data , System - user profile - own date , in the default tab you can change the values of the same .
Else if you have authorizations then you can use the T code SU01 to make the changes in defaults tab.
Select the format in which you intend to enter the data , please remeber that in case of batch management you need to give - date/month/year - you simply cant give month and year .
Hope this helps .
Regards ,

When reading from the file validate the date 'DD/MM/YYYY' format
Hi,
reading from the file ,validate the date format 'DD/MM/YYYY'.
Thanks & regards
venkataI suppose that you are writing a program in some programming language, probably PL/SQL. So, you can use TO_DATE function and handle the exception when it occurs.
create or replace procedure tstdt
as
stdt varchar(10);
dt date;
begin
stdt := '20/10/2006';
dt := to_date(stdt);
dbms_output.put_line('date is correct
exception
when others then
dbms_output.put_line('Invalid Date');
end;[],

How to break range of dates into different months in mm/yyyy format
See the following eg:
MaterialNo Validfrom ValidTo RecordNo Value
A100 01.01.2007 13.05.2007 1000 1150/-
14.05.2007 24.08.2007 1001 1550/-
Now I want to break these dates into mm/yyyy format based on a condition. If the date(day) 15th lies in the range of dates
then it should pick that Value.
The output should be in this format.
MaterialNo Validfrom ValidTo Date RecordNo Value
A100 01.01.2007 13.05.2007 012007 1000 1150/-
022007 1000 1150/-
032007 1000 1150/-
042007 1000 1150/-
A100 14.05.2007 24.08.2007 052007 1001 1550/-
062007 1001 1550/-
072007 1001 1550/-
082007 1001 1550/-Hi Shiva,
In your Report Program, you can define the field of type sy-datum. And then fill the fields with the date. And then you can extract the rest of it manually by this small and simple lines of code. Once you have the date extracting logic then you can output the date in any manner according to your wish.
data : lv_date TYPE sy-datum.
data : lv_month TYPE c LENGTH 2.
data : lv_year TYPE c LENGTH 4.
data : lv_month_year TYPE c LENGTH 6.
lv_date = sy-datum.
lv_month = lv_date+4(2).
lv_year = lv_date+0(4).
CONCATENATE lv_month lv_year INTO lv_month_year.
Hope this helps.
Thanks,

Bseg-bldat into mm/dd/yyyy format ?
Date : mm/dd/yyyy format
I have bsak tables field bldat in my program
I have to write into mm/dd/yyyy format
Is there any function module available
Or manually through offsets I have to do ?Hi,
CONCATINATE bsak-bldat0(4) bsak-bldat4(2) bsak-bldat+6(2) into G_DATE.
so G_DATE will have the format which you are asking ...
if you want to userformat, i mean different users will have different formats in SAP, so if you want user specific format, then
DATA: date type SY-DAtum,
date1(10).
MOVE:BSAK-BLDAT to DATE.
WRITE: DATE to DATE1.
so in DATE1 filed will have the user format

Date validation in "DD-MON-YYYY" Format,
Hi ,
I have created a textbox with date picker as (dd-mon-yyyy) .
Now i want to create a validation on it for the format (dd-mon-yyyy) .
I have created a pl/sql code with type "function returning error text".
Begin
If :P4_END_DATE IS NOT NULL THEN
if :P4_END_DATE != to_date(:P4_END_DATE ,'DD-MON-YYYY') then
return 'END DATE should be in "DD-MON-YYYY" Format';
end if;
END IF;
End;
When i type in like 20-NOV-08 it gives error as 'START DATE should be in "DD-MON-YYYY" Format',
but when i change month like 20-11-2008 , it actually gives error
ORA-01843: not a valid month
Error ERR-1024 Unable to run "function body returning text" validation.Vaibss wrote:

Error ERR-1024 Unable to run "function body returning text" validation.The call to 'to_date' is raising an exception when it tries to convert your date, standard PL/SQL exception handling takes over and the rest of your code is ignored.
You could try:
declare
pragma exception_init(invalid_date,-01830);
l_dummy date;
Begin
If :P4_END_DATE IS NOT NULL THEN
l_dummy := to_date(:P4_END_DATE ,'DD-MON-YYYY') then
END IF;
exception
when invalid_date then
return 'END DATE should be in "DD-MON-YYYY" Format';
End;
but even that will not check that the user actually used your desired format - the to_date can be quite flexible e.g. accepting separators other than the '-' that you have declared. In fact, the above would only catch the user entering a 'date' that is shorter than the format string - changing the 'invalid_date' for 'others' would capture more (all!) exceptions.
You probably want to look at using regular expressions to perform the format validation.

Hi,
I am getting the error "The conversion of a varchar data type to a datetime data type resulted in an out-of-range value."
when converting date in format Date in varchar(50) format MM/DD/YYYY HH:MM into YYYY-MM-DD format using MS SQLServer 2008 R2.
Please note that the date in column is Date(varchar(50), null).
I used the following syntax:
SELECT CONVERT(VARCHAR(10), Date, 102) AS Day
FROM dbo.[RCap_2G MM/Operator]
WHERE (CONVERT(VARCHAR(10), Date, 102) > { fn NOW() } - 1)As noted above, either use ISDATE or TRY_CONVERT with the correct conversion style number:

DECLARE @Date varchar(50) = '10/23/2006 10:20';
SELECT TRY_CONVERT(DATE, @Date, 101) AS Day

Valiadtion of date in dd.mm.yyyy format
i have a selection screen in which i want user to enter date in dd.mm.yyyy format only.how can i validate that.any FM.
i also want that date to be changed in yyyymmdd format coz i have to update that in a field which has yyyymmdd format.
so is there any fm for this also ( to change dd.mm.yyyy to yyyymmdd).
any pointers will help.Hi Govind,
Based on the user defaults in the transaction SU01 the date will be verified based on the date format selected in the user details.
Declare the selection screen variable as of type Sy-DATUM.
what ever format you had entered the date in the selection screen the variable will hold the value in the format yyyymmdd.
no need to do any format for the date.
hope this might help you.

Phani. -
Displaying date in dd/MM/yyyy format
Hi all,
I am having one date field .To display the date in correct format, I created a dictionary simple type of type date and entered dd/MM/yyyy in representation tab.
I was using 2004 and it was working properly. Now I am using 2004s for the same application. The problem is when I am selecting a date , it is showing the date in MM/dd/yyyy format in first time. If I selects the date again, then it will be in dd/MM/yyyy format. How can I make the selection in dd/MM/yyyy in first time itself
Thanks
Fahad HamsaHi,
Try this:
1. Create a simple type in the local dictionary. Call it say, CustomDateType.
2. Set the built-in type as date.
3. Go to the representation tab and under "External Representation" set the format to "dd/MM/yyyy".
4. Create a context value attribute day, CustomDate and set its type to CustomDateType.
5. Create an inputfield with id say, "DateField" and bind its value property to CustomDate.
6. Now in your wdDoModifyView() write the following code:
if(firstTime){
IWDViewElement e = view.getElement("DateField");
e.requestFocus();
