Production Environment for weblogic

Hi ,
I like to know , is it possible to run weblogic on solaris of I386(Intel
3).
Please help me some one.
Thanks,
Senthil

That configuration is currently not supported. If you would like to have it
supported, you should lobby your account manager.

  • Migration from development to production environment for SAP Netweaver BI

    All,
    When I created a SAP Netweaver BI connection using BeX query in BW development environment, the system is defaulted to the BW development environment. Since the system textbox can't be modified to use a variable to point to production environment, can you share how you migrate your SWF file to production environment and ensure that it points to the BeX production query?
    Thanks for sharing ....

    After some more searching, I found this link: http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/f005a4ca-d4fd-2c10-adb8-8ec24383cb97

  • Guideline to Creating Production Environment for BPC 7.5

    Hello All:
    Does anyone know of any published guidelines for moving a complete development environment into production?
    We are upgrading to BPC 7.5 MS and are quickly approaching the stage where we can deploy our environment into production.
    I've been told it involves creating a backup of your DEV environment and simply restoring it in production.  Is it that basic?  What are the manual adjustments needed afterwards?
    Any input/insight would be great!
    Thanks,
    Nathan

    No manual adjustment for this.
    Using Server Manager you are able to do the backup into development.
    Also with server manager you are able to do restore into production.
    No other manual steps are necessary.
    But this can be done once.
    After that working in paralel with production and development to do backup into dev and restore it into production is not working any more because you will lose data from productiion.
    Backup restore from Server manager is not a transport mechanism. It is really a backup restore functionality.

  • SOA OSB Deployment best practices in Production environment.

    Hi All
    I just wanted to know the best practices followed in production environment for deploying OSB and SOA Code. As you are aware that both require libraries from either (Jdev or SOA Suite) and (OEPE and OSB)? Should one rip the libraries and package them with the ANT scripts (I am not sure but SOA would require its internal ANT scripts and lot of libraries to be bundled, OSB requires only a few OEPE and OSB libraries) or we simply use the below:
    1) Use the production run time (SOA Server and OSB Server) to build and deploy the code. OEPE would not be present here, so we would just have to deploy the already created sbconfig.jar (We would build this in a local environment where OEPE and OSB would be installed). The code is checked out from a repository and transferred to this linux machine.
    2) Use a windows machine (which has access to prod environment) and have Jdeveloper, OEPE and OSB installed to build\deploy the code to production server. The code is checked out from a repository.
    Please let us know your personal experiences with the deployment in PROD. Thanks a lot!

    There are two approaches for deployment of OSB and SOA code.
    1. Use a machine specifically for build and deployment which will have access to all production environments (where deployment needs to be done). Install all the required software (oepe, OSB etc..) and use remote deployment for deploying the code.
    2. Bundle all the build and deployment related libraries and ship them as a deployment package on the target server and proceed with the deployment.
    Most commonly followed approach is approach#1.

  • Best practice for a deplomyent (EAR containing WAR/EJB) in a productive environment

    Hi there,
    I'm looking for some hints regarding to the best practice deployment in a productive
    environment (currently we are not using a WLS-cluster);
    We are using ANT for buildung, packaging and (dynamic) deployment (via weblogic.Deployer)
    on the development environment and this works fine (in the meantime);
    For my point of view, I would like to prefere this kind of Deploment not only
    for the development, also for the productive system.
    But I found some hints in some books, and this guys prefere the static deployment
    for the p-system.
    My question now:
    Could anybody provide me with some links to some whitepapers regarding best practice
    for a deployment into a p-system ??
    What is your experiance with the new two-phase-deploment coming up with WLS 7.0
    Is it really a good idea to use the static deployment (what is the advantage of
    this kind of deployment ???

    Hi Siva,
    What best practise are you looking for ? If you can be specific on your question we could provide appropriate response.
    From my basis experience some of the best practices.
    1) Productive landscape should have high availability to business. For this you may setup DR or HA or both.
    2) It should have backup configured for which restore has been already tested
    3) It should have all the monitoring setup viz application, OS and DB
    4) Productive client should not be modifiable
    5) Users in Production landscape should have appropriate authorization based on SOD. There should not be any SOD conflicts
    6) Transport to Production should be highly controlled. Any transport to Production should be moved only with appropriate Change Board approvals.
    7) Relevant Database and OS security parameters should be tested before golive and enabled
    8) Pre-Golive , Post Golive should have been performed on Production system
    9) EWA should be configured atleast for Production system
    10) Production system availability using DR should have been tested
    Hope this helps.

  • How to setup the cluster environment for BPM using weblogic

    want to setup the cluster environment for BPM using weblogic....
    i have installed the oracle weblogic server 10gr3 and oracle BPM enterprise for weblogic 10gR3
    i have used the Admin tools from the "oracle BPM enterprise for weblogic" to setup the configuration and create the weblogic domain servers.
    i can launch the process administrator and import the project exp file to domain server.
    but what should i do to setup cluster environment using weblogic?
    what i want to do is :
    setup one admin machine..
    setup two product machine..
    enable the cluster so the admin machine can monitor the status of the product machine..
    thanks a lot ...

    The install guide at http://download-llnw.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13154_01/bpm/docs65/config_guide/index.html gives a reasonable amount of info on how to do this.
    Personally I have not used the OBPM option to configure WebLogic instead I've used the information in the above install guide to create the weblogic domain in advance of configuring OBPM.
    Once you've setup WebLogic configure OBPM using the values I mention in the following thread: How to set the JMX Engine parameter in Process Administation?
    Let me know any specific config questions and I'll do my best to answer them for you.

  • Weblogic 8.1 Server log size increase in Production environment

    Hi,
    Issue:: One of the log file is increasing in size and exceeding beyond the size mentioned in the configuration file resulting in application outage.
    Issue description:
    We are having problems with the log size in the Weblogic 8.1 server. The fileminsize has been mentioned in the config.xml.
    New log files like MYsvr.log00001,MYsvr.log00002, MYsvr.log00003, MYsvr.log00004 etc are also being generated appropriately when the max file size has been reached. But simultaneously, one of the files is growing in size, exceeding the limit mentioned in the configuration file. Eg.. the MYsvr.log00001 file is 800MB in size while the other files(MYsvr.log00002, MYsvr.log00003 etc are 10MB in size)
    This increase in size of the log has been resulting in an application outage.
    More Details:
    1. Server: BEA Weblogic 8.1 server
    2. Log size is fine in other environements. This is a problem only in the production environment.
    3. The entry in the config.xml is as follows:
    <Server ListenPort="6313" Name="MYsvr" NativeIOEnabled="true" TransactionLogFilePrefix="./">
    <ServerStart Name="MYsvr"/>
    <Log FileMinSize="10000" FileName="MYsvr.log" Name="MYsvr"
    NumberOfFilesLimited="true" RotationType="bySize"/>
    <SSL Name="MYsvr"/>
    <ServerDebug Name="MYsvr"/>
    <WebServer Name="MYsvr"/>
    <ExecuteQueue Name="default" ThreadCount="15"/>
    <KernelDebug Name="MYsvr"/>
    </Server>
    Could you please help with this issue ?
    Thank you.

    Can someone please provide a solution for the issue

  • Container classes generation for production environment

    You can run the WebLogic EJB compiler on the JAR file before you deploy the beans,
    or you can let WebLogic Server run the compiler for you at deployment time.
    I have to release :
    - an ear, containing 1 ejb and other stuff
    - a client-jar (delegate, remote, home), that will be included in another ear (client
    application of our ejb).
    Both the ear will be deployed on the same wl instance (6.1sp2) (production environment).
    For a production environment, which are the pros and contras ?
    (not considering deploy time differences on wlserver, of course).
    Which is the best practice ? Is it suggested to release the ear with the container
    classes already generated (run ejbc before) or delegate the generation to weblogic
    server ?
    Thanks in advance

  • Topology for production environment

    this question is related to production environment deployment and clustering.
    we have 1 physical server where we have webcenter domain. this domain has 1 admin server and 1 managed server (custom web center portal managed server).
    our plan is to deploy our application on this managed server.
    this is no clustered environment and not recommended (no failover, no load balancing).
    what shall we do?
    shall we create another managed server (custom web center portal managed server) and deploy our application on these 2 managed servers? there will be a load balancer in front to take care of transferring request to both the servers...
    what's your suggestions?
    please note that i know specific answer will depend on NFR (user load, performance etc) but i am looking for general guidance and reference around same like -
    how many managed server recommended?
    what kind of topology recommended for web center application?
    etc
    thanks.

    jiri.machotka wrote:
    I'd recommend you to start with this document: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E11035_01/wls100/cluster/overview.html as a lot of this question is related to Weblogic clustering than WebCenter.
    Note that whilst clustering has many pros, it has also few cons; among those:
    - you might require additional hardware/software, or used components (like filesystem) will have to have features that you don't need in a non-clustered environment
    - though small, scaling does consume some resources (I've heard that WebCenter Content takes 1-2% of Solaris, but up-to 25% on Windows Servers!)
    - it's always at least a bit more expensive
    Therefore, you should not go for a cluster, because it's cool, but because you have damn good reasons for that (that you didn't mention!), stemming from SLAs, or requirements for Disaster Recovery.
    You write that you have just one physical server, so you already have one potential single point of failure.
    I think I've heard that Weblogic Server itself is capable of self-recovery; this means, that a server may go down (you will lose all the current sessions), but is capable of auto-recovery. If your users survive that from time to time they will lose uncommitted work, then maybe a need for clustering (HA) won't be that strong (you might also go just for tuning your Weblogic Server).
    On the other hand, where clustering might be necessary, if you need to scale, especially, if you need cloud-like increase/decrease of resources. I doubt it is possible to say up-front how many servers is recommended, but you may tune this later - whilst going from 1 node to 2 is relatively a big leap, going from 2 to 3, or 3 to 4 is then quite easy.
    Either way, I'd recommend you to be in sync with your app server admin.thanks jiri. this was helpful.
    while i agree that any architectural decision should be justifiable to requirements but as far as my experience goes clustering is basic thing in any production environment... in case 1 managed server goes down, other can still serve requests...
    i'll read link provided by you and ask specific questions if any...
    thanks.

  • Use of Emigall for creation of masters in the production environment

    Hi,
    The EMIGALL objects are normally used for migrating legacy master data and/or cut-over data before production environment is up.
    I am contemplating to use EMIGALL object for creation of contract account masters in production environment. One more option that I have is to use standard BAPI for creating contract account masters.
    Can anyone tell me whether it is proper to use EMIGALL object for day to day creation of master day in production environment. Is there any disadvantage or risk involved in it.
    Kindly reply soon.
    Regards,
    Ganesh

    I've already used emigall multiple times to do delta migrations into an operational prod environment.
    Purely looking at the functionalities, it should/would/must be possible to use emigall as a master data generator. I just think you need to look into the requirements:
    who will use it? end-user/application manager/...
    what's the amount of data to be loaded?
    what's the time window of the load? Day/night
    how is the data supplied?
    As you know, emigall EATS system resources like mad, so using it during the day might not be preferable. emigall is also very picky about the file format, whereas in a custom report you can define the input structure yourself.
    On the other hand, the error handling and follow-up of emigall is great...
    Personally, I'd go for a custom report with a BAPI... It'll give you more flexibility than emigall.

  • Production Environment RFC's for EWA.... Please help!!

    We have some of the production environment setup EWA. I will need to add else which are left. I have setup EWA in sandbox for testing. worked fine. but i have question about RFC's.
    My all DEV systems has the following RFC's in solman;
    SM_XXXCLNT100_LOGIN
    SM_XXXCLNT100_READ
    SM_XXXCLNT100_TMW
    SM_XXXCLNT100_TRUSTED
    But my all QAS and PRODUCTION system has the following RFC'c in solman.
    SM_XXXCLNT100_LOGIN
    SM_XXXCLNT100_READ
    SM_XXXCLNT100_TMW
    I thought when I generate auto RFC's from SMSY, it creates the following;
    SM_XXXCLNT100_READ
    SM_XXXCLNT100_TMW
    SM_XXXCLNT100_TRUSTED
    What should I do? if it creates _TRUSTED ONE in PRD, should I delete it? Please help!!
    Question: If I am generating auto RFC's for PRD, it created _LOGIN one too? I am totaly confused??
    Thanks,
    I will definitely post points

    The only reason I want to do that because I have to talk to security folks for that, they will go and look at the other production environments which dont have _TRUSTED rfc...
    Like as I have mentioned, all production has the following rfc's
    SM_XXXCLNT100_LOGIN
    SM_XXXCLNT100_READ
    SM_XXXCLNT100_TMW.
    I dont understand only one thing. how can I get _LOGIN rfc?
    The only reason I am asking, when I did EWA in sandbox, It did not generate _LOGIN rfc...
    Do you have any idea?
    Thanks,

    This is definitely not supported, and I don't know that any work is scheduled in the future

    Just after the 2012 Macs were released there were a lot of crashes involving those machines that Chrome got the blame for. By the time I got my hands on a 2012 MBA Chrome had been updated at least twice (plus it was never clear which version of Chrome was implicated, assuming it was the cause to begin with). All I can say now is that I've not replicated the issue with the last two versions of Chrome.
