Production hierarchy to be update in COPA

Hi SAP expert
i having problem and need SAP Gurus expert to help me resolve this issue, when i creating each material, i need to create production hierarchy for each material.
example
Material A - Production Hierarchy is 0001
Material B - Production Hierarchy is 0002
i managed to create all process in MM. the problem is the production hierarchy not updating in COPA site. when can be wrong ? any config missing ? or COPA just for SD site ?

There is no direct link between MM and COPA , the values to COPA will be coming from SD condition types . The problem may be between MM ans SD

  • Different product hierarchy in sales order and in service order

    Dear experts,
    In VA03, I notice that
    - under Line Item > Sales B, there is a field Product Hierarchy
    - under Line Item > Account assignment, there is a field Order. From here, it links to a service order. In the service order, I can see a field Product Hierarchy too.
I would like to know if there is an implication when the field Product Hierarchy in sales order and in service order are different. Is it possible that this will cause an inconsistency?
Usually these two fields have the same value, since the value in sales order is copied from service order. However, in my case, the product hierarchy is changed/updated in service order, but not in sales order.

    Hi,
We have document pricing procedure maintained at two levels for Sales order or Billing type.
The pricing procedure is determined based on SAles Area Customer pricing procedureDocument Pricing procedure+pricing procedure.
Example :For Sales Document type the document pricing rpocedure will be A and for billing type 'B"
    Sales Area1A+Pricing procedure A
    Sales Area1B+Pricing procedure B
Now A will be maintained in VOV8 and B will be maintained in VOFA.So two pricing procedures.

  • COPA - Product Hierarchy

    Dear all experts,
My client has split the product hierarchy in COPA into 3 levels.
    For example, ProdHier01-1, ProdHier01-2 & ProdHier01-3.
Then they use these values in COPA to further derive the detailed product characteristics.
By looking at the questions posted in SCN, I realized that the naming convention (ProdHier01-1, etc) and setting (create characteristic with reference to MARA-PAPH1/2/3) are the same.
So I assume this is the standard SAP way to create the prod. hierarchy in COPA.
    Now my question is,
    1) Is it necessary (or standard way) to create 3 COPA characteristics to derive each level from PAPH1/2/3?
    2) What is the purpose to create no. of COPA characteristics according to no. of product hierarchy level?
    3) Can I just create 1 COPA characteristic and map it to the full length of product hierarchy value?
I can still derive the detailed product characteristics from this 1 COPA characteristic.
    Thanks.
    Sincerely,
    Sebastian

    Hello Madhu,
    Thanks for your reply.
That is my main question, why do we need to update Prod.Hier1/2/3 in COPA?
Is it the standard SAP way that's why my client just follows?
When I check in the derivation rule, this Prod.Hier1/2/3 is later being used to derive detailed product characteristics where I am able to get it if i map 1 COPA characteristic to full length product hierarchy value.
What is the purpose of splitting them into 3 levels if there is no other functionality of this piece of info in COPA?
    Thank you.

    Sebastian

  • Product Hierarchy Not Updating in KE30 Report

    Hi,
We are Maintaining Product Hierarchy in the Material Masters and we are using a KE30 Report from CO-PA here we are able to see all the feilds getting updated in the report except for product hierarchy. that too only when the material are belonging to WBS Stock.
Can any one help me in exploring the reason for the same
    Best Regards,

    Hi
In the absence of info, its very difficult to comment
    1. Is the new sales material code assigned to Prod Hie?
    2. During billling is the COPA doc generated? Or the revenue is posted to WBS Element?
If it is posted to COPA directly, then check point 1 above should be the reason
If it is posted to WBS, then check the settlement rule of the WBS... PSG will be the settlement receiver.... Have you mentioned Prod No in the settlement rule?

  • Mass Update of Product hierarchy in all CRM Open Sales Orders

    Hi Folks,
I have a requirement in my project wherein I have to update product hierarchy details with new values in all Items of CRM Open sales orders.
If suppose I have a text file which has the details of Open Orders & new product hierarchy which i have to update, then would it be recommended if I use BDC for this task. Can I Call Transaction CRMD_ORDER?
If someone has already gone through such requirement, Can you please suggest me how to proceed with this requirement. Using BDC or any other way which I can proceed with?
    Thanks in advance !!!
    Regards,
    Nitish.

You are correct in indicating that Exchange rate type field  is not seen in Header data of sales order. I checked screen layouts for various screens for sales order data and this field is not suppressed. The only reason could be that this field is not used in sales order screens
If you are interested, you could also check in the following way
    1.  Go to SE11, enter database table as VBAK
    2. Once inside data dictionary table, click where used list button, select programs and screens and execute
    3. click continue (don't select background)
    4. now you would have list of programs and screens, this table is used
    5.  now start another session and go to transaction SE51
    6. indicate program name as SAPMV45A and screen numbers as listed in step 4. you can check all screen numbers to see whether Exchange rate type field is listed in sales order layout.
    7. Of particular interest would be screen number 4311 as this contains  Financial accounting data & 4303 Billing data
    8. you can check screen layout for screen 4311 & 4303. you would see Exchange rate type field is not indicated.
    9. in case you could find this field in any screen, you could ask your ABAP consultant to add this field in the layout screen.
    Hope this answers your question

  • Product hierarchy in COPA

    Hi all,
I am new to COPA. What I need to do is creating a report that is using a product hierarchy that we can define.
So I started and created a hierarchy in V/76 like we need it. Those values can now be entered into the "Prod. hierarchy" field for each material in material master - basic data 1.
Then I have created a characteristic for the field MARA-PRDHA (Product Hierarchy) in COPA and assigned it to our operating concern in COPA. Now I created a form (KE34), double clicked on a column to add a characteristic and selected my PROD HIERARCHY characteristic. Now in the window for "selected characteristics" there is a checkbox "Flag for entering hierarchies" so I checked that, but it says "No hierarchies exist for this characteristic".
So is this the right way to do it? How can I add product hierarchies to my COPA report, we would like to be able to "click" through the hierarchy, like starting on the highest level and clicking down.
    Thanks
    Anne

    Anne,
Do not a check on checkbox "Flag for entering hierarchies" . Select value( Hierarchies from Definition drop down window) .
    Thanks,
    Mahesh

  • Update Product Hierarchy

I wonder how could we handle master data which are changed frequently (from the data source), especially for the InfoObject with hierarchy?
Currently, I extracted product hierarchy from SAP-CRM. But users tend to change material in the product hierarchy from one node to another node more often. I'm not sure whether there is any solution to handle this kind of change in SAP-BW and queries?
I wonder if I don't set the hierarchy in the infoObject as time-dependent, is there any solution? I don't think using full update every time could not solve this problem.
Any suggestion would be sincerely appreciated.
    -WJ-

    Hallo Wachira
look at table RSHIEDIR, there BW stores all information about the loaded hierarchy nodes. If you load a hierarchy with a different HIENM or a different HIER_VERS, BW will create in this table a new row with primary key hierarchie ID HIEID  and object version OBJVERS (activated, modified, new or content). It doesn't matter which time intervall the hierarchie has, it can be changed whithout creating a new row in RSHIEDIR. But BW will change the relationship between the different nodes whithin a hierarchie (father - son) and also the attributes of the different nodes.
    Concerning your questions:
    > I don't know if the Date From and Date To shoud be
    > specified every period?
    Yes, for time dependent hierarchies.
    > If I use the same range, data will be overwritten,
    > right?
Yes, but if the hierarchie name stays the same, the nodes will be overwritten also if the range varies.
    > Is there any way to know which node has been
    > deleted?
I think, you have to look at table RSHIEDIR. But I suppose, the nodes won't be deleted but their relationship to other nodes may change - possibly they will be unassignd. How to access table RSHIEDIR, see these threads:

  • Product Hierarchy and COPA

Can any one tell me what is a prodcut heirarchy and how it is related to Controlling ( specially with COPA and Product costing). If the product heirarchy is changed, what are the things need to be adjusted in configuration for COPA and Product costing. I would appreciate step by step and trxn codes in your explanation.
    Thanks
    Points will be rewarded.

    hi,
    Product Cost Controlling (CO-PC)
The structure used for interactive analysis of product costs for each level of the hierarchy. The product hierarchy consists of:
    Plant*
    Product group*
    Product*
    Order*

  • Product Hierarchy to COPA

    Hi All,
We have defined and maintained product hierarchy as 4 levels with each level as 2 CHAR. This was done by appending the structure. Now in COPA,, how do we get this? Bcoz in COPA the characteristics are different. What changes needs to be done by COPA to pull this?
    rgds..Ameet

    hi
you can define the characterstics which is similar to the appended structure.
in SPRO - while defining the OPERATING CONCERN.
    hope this clears your issue.

  • Product Hierarchy Derivation in COPA

    Hi Gurus,
We have 6 levels of Product hierarchy defined in the system and I am able to include it in the data structure. The related Characteristics are PAPH1,PAPH2,PAPH3,PAPH4,PAPH5,PAPH6 included in my operating concern. Level 1 has 1 character in number and rest of the levels has 3 characters each in number as follows.
    Level 1--1 Number of Character
    Level 2--3 Number of Characters
    Level 3--3 Number of Characters
    Level 4--3 Number of Characters
    Level 5--3 Number of Characters
    Level 6--3 Number of Characters
Hence all together the total number/length is 16.
Now, when I generated the operating concern, the derivation rules for product hierarchy are created automatically as follows.
Following is the screen shot for source field if I open step number 22
The corresponding screen shot for Target field is as follows
For step 23 , the source field details are same as step 22 but target field details are as follows
We have assigned Product hierarchy in Material master in tab Sales:Sales Org 2 which is 16 digits.
Now when I try to test the derivation rule for step 22, system gives me following error
    =================================================================================
Characteristic value   010 does not exist for characteristic PAPH2 (ProdHier01-2)
    Message no. KE0C133
    Diagnosis
The characteristic "PAPH2" ("ProdHier01-2") should be posted to Profitability Analysis (CO-PA). When the system checked the entries, it was established that the transferred characteristic value ("  010") is not valid in CO-PA.
    System Response
The data is not consistent and therefore cannot be transferred to CO-PA.
    Procedure
With the function Maintain Characteristic Values, you can add characteristic values to those that are valid.
    ==================================================================================
I am getting the same error for all steps in test mode. How to fix this error? Do I need delete the PAPH1--PAPH6 characteristics and use the user defined characteristics and write derivation rule again? Also I want to know the use of steps 28 to 31 (clear) in this regard.
I have not included characteristic PRODH in my data structure. Do I require to include it in my Operating concern?
    Regards,
    makrand

    Dear Ajay,
Hearty Thanks for the solution. As suggested by you, I removed "move" steps and defined the Table Lookup" steps.
There are two target entries i.e MVKE (Origin) table and the field name is PRODH (Product Hierarchy) which is equivalent to second target entry COPA (Origin) field (PAPH1 -----to PAPH6) in the same line.
In field PRODH,I used offset position. I selected "Entire Field Contents" and kept character position as 0 and kept total characters as 16 in each table lookup entry.
Again I have to make offset settings in PAPH1---PAPH6 fields. I selected "Entire Field Contents" tab and system automatically changed the field length for PAPH1 to PAPH6. Now the results are correct.
I arrived at solution after making some combinations in offset. Thought, this may be useful for somebody facing the similar issue.
What's the use of "Clear" steps which are generated by system?
    Thanks and regards,
    makrand

  • Product Hierarchy Update on Existing Sales Order

    Hi,
My company business process allows sales order to be created up up to 3 months before shipping.  Prior to shipping, material can have the Product Hierarchy changed and pricing can also be updated for the new product hierarchy value (Pricing record with Product Hierarchy in the search key).  Our company also want to make sure we bill customers with new (correct) price.
In order to support pulling in the new price for our existing backlog (orders), so that we don't mis-bill our customers, we need a way to update the product hierarchy value on the existing sales orders that have not been shipped.   Our current solution is to implement some custom logic in the Sales Order Update user exit, so that when the user clicks on the "Update" button on the Condition Screen on VA02 to manually update price, the custom logic will be invoked to re-pull the Product Hierarchy from the MARA table to overwrite the old Product Hierarchy on the sales order.  Next, pricing will perform the search for new price using the updated Product Hierarchy value.
This solution has worked okay for us, but we are trying to evaluate if there is any other better way to accomplish this same request.  We would prefer to implement something that is offered by SAP via configurations.  We try to stay away from customization as much as possible.
Have you ever experienced something similar or do you have any idea how to support this kind of business process?
    Thanks very much.

    Hi Hans,
We don't want to wait for until billing to update price since we have the CI created at the time of delivery not billing.  CI document also needs to display correct pricing for custom purposes.
Also, we would like to keep pricing on the Sales Doc. and Billing Invoice the same.  This is why we would like to trigger re-pricing on sales order.   And when pricing is re-invoked, we need to re-read the PRODH data to ensure new price is retrieved.
    Thanks for your response.

  • How to Create COPA report by using Product Hierarchy?

    HI,
I have to create COPA report using Product Hierarchy. Here i need to Bring Variant configuration characterstics to COPA through Product hierarchy.
Kindly give me some points on how to start doint this process. Please provide me the steps to create Product Hierarchy which can be bring into COPA report. It would be a great help if any one can provide some inputs.

  • CCS Details are not getting updated to COPA in Sales Order Settlement(VA88)

    Dear Experts,
Our scenario is MTO with valuated material.
    1. Production order is tagged to Sales Order.
    2. Production order is settled to Material and variance is getting posted to COPA.
    3. At the time of Delivery, COGS Debit (Cost Object- Sales Order), Credit - Inventory.
    4. At the time of Billing, Accounting Document is getting generated, COPA document is not getting generated.
    5. We  are not executing WIP. (as per Business process)
    6. Settlement is done thru transaction code VA88. COPA Document is getting generated.
I am facing the following issues in the above MTO process.
    1. At time of sales order settlement thru VA88, In COPA, only COGS is getting as updated with one value field i.e. Material Cost.  Cost Component data (Material Depreciation, Labor etc..) is not getting updated to COPA.
    2. When I settle the Sales Order thru VA88, Billing Quantity is not getting updated to COPA though Quantity field mapping is done properly.
Please help me how to resolve the above issues.
Note: Same Cost Component Structure, we are using for Make to Stock scenario. Cost Component Data is getting updated Properly to COPA  (at the time of Billing)

    Hi
    1. CCS (Cost Comp Split) wont be updated to COPA if you settle via sale order.. In sale order, COGS cost element is posted.. the same will get settled to COPA as one single value...
In MTS, the CCS gets updated to COPA upon billing because of the "valuation" strategy customization... Billing posts to COPA in that case, COPA gets Sales Qty and it is valuated with CCS to give you the break up.. But, in your case, Billing is not posting to COPA, but to sales order.. hence, there is no qty flow into COPA upon billing.. thats why you dont get CCS for MTO
    2. The sales qty should be updated to COPA upon VA88.. For this, make the following settings in your PA transfer structure which is used during VA88
    1. Go to KEI1, Select your PA transfer structure...
    2. Add an assignment line in it... Check on "Qty Billed/Delivered" in the assignment line
    3. In the Tab "Value Field" below "source", assign Qty Field
Now when you settle, it should update qty as well

  • CO-PA Realignment: Changes in Product Hierarchy

    Hello all,
We have changed the product hierarchy on some of our materials and we want to realign the PA data to reflect the same.
Our product hierarchy which we have three levels is maintained in KES1. There are no derivation rules. KES1 is updated manually everytime any changes occur.
    For example:
    OLD
    Product: 1-189-01
    Hierarchy 1: 100
    Hierarchy 2:A7300
    Hierarchy3: B56220
So on the material master the prod hierarchy is 100A7300B56220
    NEW
    Product: 1-189-01
    Hierarchy 1: 125
    Hierarchy 2:A7500
    Hierarchy3: B56120
I tried using KEND for realignment and this does not change anything. Any help, how to proceed with the realignment is appreciated.

    Hi Anusha,
Did u also update PH level in KES3 - in specific hierarchy variant ? Also would like to know how did u reset the operating concern
    Thanks,
    Samik (SAP MM)
