Production Reservation with serials number

Dear All,
We have a requriement that we have serials nubmer for finish goods, and we know which serials number belong to which sales order. We want to implement that the sales order can reserve the finish goods with serials number, other sales order can not delivery to finish goods belong to this sales other.
Any suggestion?

Hi Gang,
In the sales order, you can assign the serial number to the material so that this serial number is reserved for the item. The way to do this is: Menu -> Extras -> Technical Objects.

Error when doing GR for production order with serial number

I'm not familiar with serial number and equipment management but I'm trying to help my user resolve this issue.
This product is returned from customer site.
I saw that this material is being reset in IQ02 from status in warehouse to become Available when the material is consumed in the production order via 261 movement type. So now the status is available. Then the user went to change a new serial number. Later, GR for production order is done in MB31. Errors are encountered when prompted to enter the new serial number.

Issue with Serial number inheritance in PP order

Hi gurus,
We have an issue with inheritaning component material serial no. to header material.
For production order having different header material and component material,on GI, the serial no. assigned to component is inheritated to header material. We can see the serial nos. in order, Header --> Serails Numbers. This functionality has been implemented in BADI 'MB_MIGO_BADI' method POST_DOCUMENT' using FM 'SERNR_ADD_TO_DOCUMENT'.
But, the issue is when the production order is having same header and component material. And on GI, the serial no. is not getting inherited into header material ie., the serial nos. are not visible in production order ,Header --> Serial Number.
Is there any other FM for handling the serial numbers for order having having same header and component material?
Note: The material is serialized material.

Problem with Serial Number (me=idiot)

I am one of the stupid who bought a Master Collection on eBay (looked pretty good).
I installed it and it worked for a while. (I later found out from a "techie" friend that it changed something called a host file.
Anyway, I got a virus that also changed (deleted all but it's own number) the host file and it killed the bad eBay version.
I went and bought one (at a legit shop), but it keeps thinking I have the old serial number(s) for the Master. I tried uninstalling and then using the CS5 Cleaner program I was directed to, then reinstall the new (good) one, but it didn't help. Anything I can do? Where is the bad serial kept so I can manually delete it?

Problem with serial Number in Inspection Lot

Dear All,
I have a typical problem that material is there in quality inspection lot and serial numbers are aslo assigned during 101 mvt. but when I am posting it to unrestricted stock system is not determine serial number and giving an error
*Stock data of serial number XXXXXX not suitable for movement
Message no. IO231*
All configuration setting are also OK as this problem comes for the first time and previously we were able to clear inspection lots of that material easily with serial number.
Any Idea to rectify that problem?

Check with your serializing Procedure check the assignment in Work scheduling View for this material also check in Quality view
for inspection type 4 for GR of Production order.

MB26 ,CO27 - goods issue components with serial number?

Hi ,everyone!
I know CO27 and MB26 can do goods issue to production order very easily and quickly!
But It seems CO27 and MB26 can not work well with the component with serial number.
I aslo know MB1A and MB1B can post goods issue for component with serial number.But in MB1A and MB11 , it is very difficult to can material by material number quickly while doing more then 100 components issue to one production order.
And for authorization purpose we restrict MIGO not to use goods issue for production order.
So I want to ask how CO27 and MB26 do goods issue for the component with serial number?
Or there is another ways to goods issue component with serial number to production order easily,exclude MB1A,MB11 and MIGO?

We use CO27 for goods issue to production order ,just like MB1A goods issue to production order.
But in the BOM components of the production orders ,some semi finished products are with with serial numbers ,so we can not use CO27 or MB26 to issue these components with serial numbers to production orders!

REM Backflush Materials With Serial Number

Hi all,
We decideed to trace some materials with serial number. I have created serial number profile and assigned to the materials. But in REM confirmation SAP does not support backflushing materials with serial numbers. Cause of product cost collector i can not consume the material manually within inventory management.
How can i consume the materials with serial number in repetative manufacturing ?

This note states that repetitive manufacturing does not allow to use serial numbers on the components.

My requirement is as follows
1) This is with serial number concept
2) The production schedule for FG will be given with serial number at intial stage itself every day
3) There are 2 subassemblies required for FG ie) Eg.A and B
4) The above 2 subassemblies were identified with same serial number XXX
5) The subassemblies with Same Serial Numbers A and B only assembled for engineerig purpose
5) I want to monitor the stauts of a) Is schedule has released to shop floor b) Sub assy A with Serial number completed c) Sub assy B with Serial number completed etc d) Is the Final assembly FG completed
6) As the sub assy production process takes long time ie) 1 week it is needed what is the subassy status individually by A and B
At present the client is in Production Order , Interested in going Repetitive, if the solution available in Repetitive it is appreciated

Need some clarification from your answer
Your scenario is possible using REM also. The serial number profile defined should have the procedure PPSF (for REM). Also in OIS2 tick the check box ExtReqmt if serial numbers are to be created before prodn. You could have external number ranges activated.
I could see procedure PPSF in OSI2 but unable to see the tick mark area ECC6.0
You could track the Serial numbers generated for a material with IQ09 transaction.
Once the serial comes into stock the System status will be AVLB (available). So you could track the prod status of these serial numbers at Sub assembly and assembly stages.

I try to confirm Production orders through serial numbers.
I customized the confirmation profile in OPK0. i am now able to enter a serial number in CO11N
If I enter only serial number in CO11N . it is not sufficient for SAP. System requires production order number and Operation.
And this message

We need to fallow the standard process.
1) Need to create serial No profile & same need to maintain in material master.
2) Create the production order or Purchase order depending on the procurement type material master.
Procurement Type E - In house produce material - Need to create production order. basically production order is the reference to start the priduction after release the production order.
Procurement Type F - External Procurement - Need to create purchase order.
3) We consider the production order, created & released.
4) Confirmation CO11n- Need to enter production order no & opreation. That operation should final & auto GR relevent.
5) If operation condition is true, then system will allow to create serial no equal to yield quantity. Confirm the serial no & save.
6) Check MMBE whether selected serial no get created against material or not.

Goods reciept through MB31 against production order using serial number

We are using MB31 for goods receipt against production order using serial number.
First we do confrmation by tcode co11 and then recieve the material by mb31 against the order.
I want that sysstem should not allow good reciept by mb31 more than the confirmation done in co11.
