Production System triggers alerts in development environment

Hi all.
I've configured Alerts in XI development environment. I haven't configured them in any other environment yet but I'm getting alerts into the Alert Inbox of development environment, triggered by production XI system. How is this possible?
Thanks a lot,
Gari.

Hi Rodrigo.
I'm sure I haven't configured PRD system for alert triggering, and it shouldn't be happening. The alert triggered from PRD system has the same text description I configured in development ALRTCATDEF.
It is as if the alerts were being caught by the development system through any other channel. Production SLD has the DEV system registered, but I don't think this could be a possible reason. It's very strange.
Thanks a lot,
Gari.

  • Lock on Portion and MRU in Production System

Can anyone explain why is there a lock on MRU and Portion in the production system but not in development? Can it be removed?

    Hi Kunal,
The lock will appear in production system only as the standard logic checks for production client before showing up the lock.
    ============================
    CHECK g_clnt_prod = 'P'.
    ============================
    Lock Icon on Portion:
Following two FMs are used to determine whether the locked icon is to be displayed or not
    ISU_DB_EVER_FIND_CONT_FOR_PORT,
    ISU_DB_TE422_FIND_MRU_FOR_PORT
Simply put forward, if portion is being used  for an ISU contract(EVER) or is associated with any MRU(TE422) lock icon will be displayed.
    Lock Icon on MRU
It check in table EANLH(Install.Time Slice) with the following condition bis >= sy-datum AND ableinh = te422-termschl.If record is found, then the lock icon is displayed.
Simply put forward, if MRU is being used up in any ISU installation as on system date, the MRU lock will be displayed.
About, removing the icons, it checks for business function  ISU_UTIL_1 to be active for the system. If not, the lock is not displayed in production environment .
I hope, this clarifies you doubt.

  • How to transport the connection in production system

    hi
I have a doubt releaated to connection between SAP BI and Xcelsius.
We have a development server on which i have created universe and then on it Qaaws and finally Xcelsius dashboard.
My doubt is in future they will transport the SAP BI system from Development system to Production system.
In this case  Universe ,Qaaws,Xcelsius will work?
will i have to develop this again in production system, or any how it will work with production system?
How excetly development work here when we have connection between SAP BI and Xcelsius in different system from development to quality and then in Production?
    Thanks,
    Piyush

    Hi
assuming that the objects (keyfigures, characteristics, multiprovider) of the underlying query are available in your production system you do not have to create your universe again, rather change the connection data to your SAP server (like SYSID, client number etc) in the universe connection.
Additionally if you are working ith BO XI 3.1 I would suggest to take a look to the LifeCycleManager, a tool which can simplify the transport process from your development to your production environment.

  • Transporting role menu and workbook created diurectly in production system

    Hi gurus,
We have several workbooks (and queries) that are created directly in production system. thoose workbooks are connected to a role that is created in development system and transported to production system.
Now, we would like modify this role in development then tranport it on production system, but we are afraid that will be wiped out (overwrite) our production system workbooks (because the role not contains this workbook in development).
Could you please explain to us what we have to do in order to not wiped out our production workbooks.
    Thank you in advance

thank you, it's more clear for me...
Exactly, to have all my requests and workbook in development, I tried to use "Transport order of copy (it means transport queries from Production system to development system)", then to connect them with the corresponding roles in development, but I have the think that BW considers them as new requests when I re-transport them again on the prod.)
Could you say me if i can transport my production system queries on my development system, and manage them in this system (development) in the future.
    Thank you in advance

  • Authorization Querychange in productive system

    Hi Experts,
in our productive system we want users to be able to change queries / create queries. System is set to query changeability, but if the query contains objects (variables, calc. key figures, etc), that were not created on the productive system (but transported from development system) the query can´t be changed.
Do you have an idea what we can do in order to make these queries changeable?
    Thanks for your help!
    Angelika

    Angelika,
Go to Transport connection on RSA1 -> Select Object changeability ( you can find it on the top menu / it is a button on the screen ) - Double click on ELEM ( Query Elements ) it will change to chengeable original - then save the settings .
Now you can edit queries in production even if the object was transported..

  • One BW - One R/3 Development - Multiple R/3 Productive Systems

    Dear experts,
we are at the moment having a classical 3-tier system environment.
    1) R/3 Development --> BW Development
    2) R/3 Consolidation --> BW Consolidation
    3) R/3 Production --> BW Production
Due to increased system load on R/3 Production  it is planned to create an additional R/3 Production System which also needs to be connected to the existing BW Production system...BUT there will be no additional R/3 Development or Consolidation systems. The new Production system will be feeded parallel with transports fro mthe existing development system.
    Question:
On BW side we will need to create Source system-dependent objects (Transfer Structures, InfoPackages, etc), etc. which are connected to the new R/3 system. But we cannot do that as we do not have a corresponding R/3 Development system connected to our BW development system.
Anyone has an idea how to approach this issue?
    Thanks a lot!
    Regards.
    Joachim

    Hi Joachim,
I have a rough idea. Can you go to RSA1 of your BW production machine, in menu tools->conversion of source system names. Add a new line, and assign r/3 consolidation machine as "Original Source System" the second R/3 prod machine as target source system. Save and try transporting again.
I haven't such experience before and it's only my guess (your case is really special). Please validate it first
If not work, a stupid way is changing this table after the first importing for r/3 prod machine1, then import again for machine2...

  • (realistic) system requirements for development environment under Forms 11g

    Hello !
How are the realistic system requirements for a complete development environment
    under Forms 11g (Forms11g/Reports11g/Weblogic-Server) ?
From our experience there is a problem with the RAM-limitation of Windows 32 bit !
Is there anybody to exchange his experiences ...
    Thanks in advance !

The Oracle Solaris Studio 12.4 will officially support Oracle Linux 5,6 when it releases later this year.
Since Oracle  Linux is based on RHEL, Oracle Solaris Studio should work on RHEL.
Support customers may report issues against RHEL and the Oracle Solaris Studio team will do its  best to address these issues but fixes are not guaranteed.
Oracle Solaris Studio components such as compilers and command line tools do not require Java.  If you install the product using the Oracle Solaris Studio Installer in non-interactive mode you can install the Solaris Studio product without having Java on your system though the installer will issue a warning message if Java is not found on the system.  Alternately you can install the product using the tar file distribution if Java is not installed. If you install via the tar file, it is not possible to install patches later.

  • How to protect Developer know Password of Schema in Production system?

Hi, I'm newbies about Database Securities.
My new job have environment about Client/Server by Oracle10gR2 working with Delphi Application.
I found developer fixed schmea user/password on program code for connect to DB.
So, Now password of Production Schema is same with Development Schema
and Developer can access to Production environment.
How to solve this situaltion?, I think maybe ever have best pratice for this.
I think about keep password on other location and Application get to use for connect DB.
Howerver, This way developer can coding for print out password to see it.
Or maybe DBA must change fix password in Programmer coding before migrate to production (It's no good). To do that, DBA can change password of Production and Developerment to differrence.
Now we protect this by trigger to fix about protect Developer connect DB by Tools (by osuser, machine and program filed in v$session). I know this can leak by change osuser, change exec name of Tools.
Previouse job use Oracle DB with E-Business suite. It's no this problem cause of It's have interface to manage connection between App & DB.
    Thank you for every advice.

  • Feasibility for a new production system in the same environment

    Dear friends,
Our management has come up with a requirement of expansion of SAP environment to cover up users in a different country for their francise over there. The options we are considering are below:
    1. Implementing a whole new setup ( ECC, EP,BI, PI,Trex).
    2. Expanding the lease lines between the sites in both the countries and providing access to the present setup itself with enhancement in the current hardware configuration.
or is it a good practice to keep a new Production system in the other country and add a new delivery route for the new production system within the current transport route ? How the license part may be taken care in these cases ?
    Your suggestions are welcomed.
    Many thanks,
    SUJIT

    Hi Sujit,
The answer to this question really depends on whether the new country is going to share much of the same configuration with some tailoring to local laws and requirements.  If the system is going to be the same, then there is now reason to deploy a new system unless you are reaching technical limits for hardware.  For ease of management and usage, then having one system is preferred.  You can then upgrade your network to cope with the increased load and hardware as required.
    Hope this helps,
    Graham

  • Query developement and se16 access on productive system

    Hi,
we are setting up an authorization concept on ERP2004s and our users asking for query development rights and se16 on our productive system. I think queries and se16 should be on the test system due to security reasons. Please post some feedback how do you think about it!? I think queries should be developed on the test system and transported.
    Thank you in advance!
    Best regards
    Frank

    Hi Frank,
I dont think that you can give access to writing a quaery in production system.
writing a query also need access to:
    Transaction Code:  SE16
    Authorization object:  S_TABU_DIS
    Activity:  02 AND 03
Risk: The risk here is that users who have this access, have the ability to maintain table data directly in the production system.  This includes transactional, masterfile, security and configuration data.
    Hope it is useful.
Please award points if it is useful.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Service product replication for test and developement system

    Hi Experts,
In our scanario service product is created in production system and later manually created in test and developement system.
Is there is any standard function module avilable to replicate the product master data into test and developement system
Or Is it possible to use the middleware functionallity to replicate the service product details.
    Please advice on this issue.
    Thanks,

You can use the FindFile method in the TS API:
    FindFile Method
    Syntax
    Engine.FindFile ( fileToFind, absolutePath, userCancelled, promptOption = FindFile_PromptHonorUserPreference, srchListOption = FindFile_AddDirToSrchList_Ask, isCommand = False, [currentSequenceFile])
The function itself returns a boolean which indicates if the file exists or not.
Then just use a Call Executable step to run command line string to delete the file.
    Hope this helps!

  • ESR role in different development, test, and production systems

    Hello,
I want to know the role of ESR in development, test, and production system. Do I have to install ESR in every seprate installated SAP CE machine??? or should It be centrally and development., test and production systems can use it?? Does software release process effects in the whole landscape??
does Test and Production system requires ESR??? or all used services are embed into released software SCA files to test and production system???
    Regards,
    Naeem

    Hey,
as far as I understood the ESR is a design time tool, i think  you don't need to have a productive instance.
I think it should be installed on your PI systems. And I would prefer to have at least a devel and a test installation, to
separate services on test machines from those who are running on productive systems.
as you can't differentiate the services by their name but just by their systems, you should have separate ESR Instances.
Nevertheless I think it could be possible to run only one ESR....
    Kind Regards
    Christof
