Productivity apps supposed to be free with new ipad air

I purchased a new ipad air yesterday and tried to download imovie from the app store but but it shows as a 4.99 price tag. How do I get it for free as promised by apple? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your post, like others, I had the same issue as the OP. I tried the 'sign out and reset the iPad and sign back in' thing I had read about in other posts, but your suggestion got me the closest to fixing it. I'd like to add something to your suggestion to help some of us who are new to Apple products. Plus, I think they may have changed to selection name since your post as I couldn't find a selection labeled Optimized for iPad Air.
First off for those who are having a hard time getting to the app home after searching for these apps, (Hey, I can't be the only one.) Tap 'Cancel' on the top left corner of the search screen. Now from the home screen of the apps page scroll all the way to the bottom. On the bottom right, tap on the selection Apps made by Apple. There you will find the free apps.

Thanks. I got the problem fixed. Spent time with the Apple folks and was kicked up to a senior advisor. It seems the problem was with my internet provider - Tmie Warner. Remember I could use the old ipad and the iphone to send mail. I checked all the specifics between the three units. It seems that TW is changing over from the RR.com to TWC.com. Since the new ipad air was just set up, it fell under the new TWC mail specifics.

IWork/iLife Apps with New iPad Air

iWork/iLife apps are supposed to be free on a new iOS device. I bought and registered a new iPad Air and the Appstore wants to charge me for downloading them. How can I get these on my device without being charge?

I was under the impression they were separate apps. When you bought your iPad Air, you got the iOS versions, but if you want the MacOS versions, you will need to purchase them.
They were free when you purchased a new iOS/MacOS product, but the free software would most likely coincide with that.

My Safari app wont open a new tab and crashes if I try, I've tried closing all apps and reopening. Its a new ipad air and only started doing this after I synched with itunes.

I have a new iPad Air. Since I synched it with my itunes account - all my details have been uploaded which is great but Safari will only work with one page open. If I try to open a new Tab it crashes. I have tried turning it off and on again. I tried closing all my apps that were open - including Safari and opening it again. Not sure what else to try.

Managing Photos with new iPad Air???

Hi,
I was looking to get some insight from experienced users on the best way manage photos with the new iPad Air. Oviously, im not too familiar with the subject as, i do not use any iPad and i am trying to set one up for someone else who recently purchased one.
So here is what i need to be able to do:
There are a bunch of pictures i need to upload into the iPad (more or less 15gig for the first batch).
Id like to be able to manage these pictures as in be able to delete, organize folders, etc.
Preferably also be able to export these photos, later on, as a backup in their respective folders as previously organized in the ipad.
Mainly, the ipad will be the main storage unit of the albums, as this person enjoys viewing them on daily basis. So i believe this rule out using itunes photos syncing. After searching for a while i believe there are multiple third party app which would be better for importing, organizing and exporting photos. Im just not quite sure which as i have not experience it yet.
*This has become quite a pain since im trying to find a way to minimize the usage of a PC or MAC, so the person would be able to manage their photos with the ipad and i believe it would be simple to transfer pictures taken from their iPhone.
Any insight would be much appreciated.

Any problems with new iPad Air 2?

I have an iPad 2 (2nd Generation) 512GB RAM w/32GB storage. Running out of storage room.
Thinking of getting the new iPad Air 2 128GB wifi
Before I buy one, any problems or issues with it? I hope the issues are only with iOS 8 and not the hardware.
iOS issues can be fixed with a new update.

Currently as of this post there is a random popping sound every so often, wifi shuts off sometimes and turns back on. The speaker vibrating isn't a defect but it's there because of how thin.

i think iphoto and imovie should have pre installed in new ipad. Apple wants to make money of everything. i guess in future apple will make ipad without any application and everything have to pay to download from app store.

Apple didn't force you to buy anything at all including the iPad. You made the choice to buy the iPad. You do not have to but iPhoto or iMovie. Nobody is forcing you to buy anything.
As stedman already said - all apps cannot be free.

Need help with new iPad Air not turning on

First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

How do I download iLife for free with new macbook???

I just purchased a 13" Macbook Pro on Friday and am trying to figure out how to download iPhoto and iMovie on it. For some reason there is a cost for each program in the app store. I submitted an up-to-date request for Pages, Number, and Keynote which should be ok, and I have downloaded garageband for free in the app store. This is my very first mac so I was hoping someone can help with this. The link attached is on the apple site saying that the six programs are supposed to be free with new purchases.

Log into the APP store using the Apple ID that you used to set up the computer and go to purchases - you may have to accept the programs and then download and install them

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Can I get iwork apps for free in old mac after purchasing new ipad air

I just got a new ipad air which came along with free iwork and ilife apps. I would like to know whether I can transfer the apps to my macbook pro for free?

Free apps with purchased Ipad air with another Apple ID

I just got the new ipad air. One from my family logged in with their Apple ID on my ipad before I logged in with mine. Now all the apps (iLife, iWork's etc.) doesn't appear free with my user, but only with that user the logged in to App Store before me.
I have tried to factory reset the ipad, and use my Apple ID when I set it up. But it's still the same; no free apps for me. And as soon as the other Apple ID logs in, all the apple apps starts downloading automatically, and for free
How do I get my Apple ID to link with the free apps?

Actually there is likely nothing that you can do since the program is free apps per device and your relative has basically stolen your free apps.
