Proficiency Scale - direction

Hi Experts,
I need your advise, the company I work for is not using the direction of proficiencies in the scales as recommended by SAP, i.e. 1 - Poor and 5 Excellent; but is using them the other way round; 1 - Excellent and 5 - Poor. I know SAP recommended way is useful in Career and Succession Planning when doing Profile Match-up's. If we implement the way my company wants, what is the impact.

Sorry Ram I am going to have to disagree with you.  Career and Succession Planning want to do matches with the values ascending.  Cannot guarantee the results will be the same with everything decending.  Also, the "Depreciation Meter" will not work with the values decending, if you use that with your qualifications.  If you have any "Yes" or "No" qualifications, would "Yes" be "0" and "No" = "1".  That does not make any sense and the results again may not be what you want when these are evaluatied.
Ncedile, I would do everything I could to get them to change to make everything consistant and to avoid large work-arounds, custom programming and incorrect results.

Whenever we create qualification update through PA30 or ESS, the system will allow us to save the record without selecting any proficiency scale, i.e., blank proficiency scale "0".
Can we make that field mandatory, so that users have to select something out of proficiency scale?

  • Predefined Performance Management: Competency / Qualification Scale

    Hello,
For predefined performance mgmt you can choose a single scale for the Competency / Qualification rating scale.
However, during execution of the document, the qualifications to be imported will have at least two types of scales (2 pt, yes, no, and 5 pt)
Does SAP just inherit the proficiency scale attached to the qualification or am I stuck with only the single scale specified in the predefined configuration step?
If the latter, any ideas on how to overcome this limitation?
    thank you,

Hi Maurice - it turns out it looks like SAP fixes this in EP5 or somewhere along the way.
If you define your own competency goal in the document it will use the default scale from the predefined config step.
however, NOW - when you inherit a qualification it will use the qualifications proficiency scale.  You just have to be sure that the proficiency scale being used follows the rules of the allowed scale numbers (3,5,6, etc) and is defined in the table: V_T77TMC_SCA_MAP

  • Profile Matchup - Training identification

    Hi experts,
we have PD and TEM implemented. when we are doing profile match up it is showing difference in skills and the training needed column is showing empty.
Client to want to enroll them who is having less qualification should be given training.
so can we directly book that employee to training during profile match up if he is not having sufficient skills in that qualification.
I checked all the integration switches it is active.
    Pls advise me.....
Thanks for your time and consideration
    Best Regards

    Dear Sujana
The profile match up identified an employee to be prebooked for a business event type only if the qualification is imparted by the Business event type.
    Its goes like this
Business event type 1 -- Imaprt qualification XYZ (Relationship - a 028) with a  proficiency scale.
During the profile match  if the  requiremd qualifcation for the position does not found in Employee's IT 0024 or found with Low proficiency  than system proposses the Prebooking option on the Profile match up Screen.
Pl try this you will definately get the reply

  • What is the best 3d computer configuration for Lightwave 9?

I'm using at work a Intel Mac pro with Dual Core 3GHz, 4Gb RAM and ATI 256Mb Ram. I'm using LightWave 9.0 for my work and it takes a week to render an image. I would like a workstation that does the job half of the time. Can any one give the best configuration?

The latest version of LightWave, version 9, takes ful advantage of Intel's multi-core processor support, yielding substantial speed improvements.

The LightWave v9.5 Mac open beta program is currently available until upcoming final release. LightWave v9 owners can participate by registering at: http://register.newtek.com/.
Might want to participate not only to test and evaluate, but sometimes you have access to more tech support from engineering too.
According to Intel benchmark of Lightwave:
... uses well-threaded code to complete on multi-core processors much quicker than ever before.
So it should scale directly by the number of cores (and how efficient they perform).

Do you want to buy a new high-end Mac Pro, or look at a 'do it yourself' swap the processors for dual quad-core 3GHz? Do you go with a new system with 2.8GHz or 3.2GHz 8-core?
No, because it isn't cost effective to upgrade the cpu, not when 8-core upgrade on your system would run $1600 for 2.66GHz or $2400 for 8-core 3GHz.

Though it costs 14 times as much as the GeForce 8800 GT, it is not 14 times faster.
However, the Quadro FX 5600 does feature more video memory (1.5GB vs 512MB). And, according to one Maya guru, the extra memory (and superior memory management code) of the Quadro workstation cards becomes useful for frame buffering in Maya. This is especially true for redraw of multiple views of the same complex 3D model.
This has been enhanced further by Quadro FX 5600's new integrated memory allocation which allows the card to dynamically allocate on-board RAM to whatever task is at hand rather than have specific hard wired allocations. So rather than say a maximum of 40% of total on-board RAM dedicated to the texture buffer the card can ramp up and down from 80% sharing with the immediate needs of the other buffers.

  • Depreciation Meter and Expired Qualifications

    Hi Experts,
Please help me. I am confused on depriciation Meter. How it works?.
I have created a Qualification the validity period given as 01.01.2007 to 31.12.9999 and enter the depriciation meter of 3yrs. When adding this qualification from PPPM to person with proficiency scale, start date and end date what i need to give?
Also , Need a report on Expired Qualifications or Licienses? How do I generate a list of every individual and the dates their qualifications expire?
I have tried with t-code S_AHR_61015536 enter the Org Unit ID, when i execute it shows me a blank report with no list.
I need a notification or reminder for the expired qualification it should trigger to employee or manager. What is the process do we have any standard process in SAP?
    Regards,
    Kumar

    Hi
The concept of depreciation meter is seen when we create the qualifications.
SAP glossary says that Depreciation meter is :The time period after which a qualification is worth half its original value
    To give you an example
Assuming that we require the following qualifications for one to become HR manager in 2012
    a) MBA from IIM
    b) 15 years Experience in Administration
There can be a depreciation meter set saying after three years
    a) MBA from any university
    b) 10 years experience in Administration
The concept of depreciation meter works this way.
I think i have answered your first part. Let the experts take over now
    All the best to you

  • How to connect HRP1000, HRP1001, T77TP, T77SK in a SELECT STATEMENT

    Hi Abappers,
Does anyone know how to put 4 tables in a SELECT STATEMENT? The output would
be the Qualification name and  the proficiency.
In my FUNCTION MODULE, I have to input first the employee number to search for the employee's skill. So what I did is to connect HRP1001 (where the SOBID = employee_no) and HRP1000 to display the qualification name. My next step is to display the proficiency name once the qualification name has been selected.
Please share you knowledge! Thank you!

    Hi,
Didn't my reply against your other thread give what you wanted? Anyway, I don't think you will be able to get the Proficiency text in a single SELECT statement. The Proficiency Scales are tied to the Qualification Catalog. So your next step after obtaining the employee's Qualification will be to get the catalog(QK) to which this Qual is tied. Then get the Prof Scale ID for the Qual Catalog from HRP1033. The Prof Rating for the Employee's Qual is maintained as an Additional Data in HRPAD31. For that you will have to get the key ie ADATANR from HRP1001 (B032 relationship of the Qualification) & then read the Rating from HRPAD31. You now have the Scale ID & rating and will get the Prof text for this rating from the Table T77TP. There is no need to access T77SK table. I know the approach is longwinded but that is exactly what you need to do in order to report an employee's Prof text. The code I posted
Re: Where can I find Tables  for Infotype 24 (Skills) & 34 Subtype 3 (Awards) should be enough. If you are writing a report for a number of employees, it may be better to create Internal tables & store the Quals catalog, Scale ID & Rating texts instead of repeatedly accessing the database.

  • HR Qualifications and Proficiencies how are they related ? Which table ?

    Hi all
People have qualifications, qualifications have proficiencies, proficiencies have proficiency scales.
Table HRP1001 contains personel numbers and the qualifiation objects that are related to them.
Table HRP1000 contains loads of objects including the qualifications IDs with object type 'Q'.
Table T77TS holds the Proficiency IDs and text.
Table T77TP holds the Proficiency Scale IDs and Texts
But where (which table) is the relationship between the qualification and its accociated proficiency stored.
In short I am trying to report on people with a particular proficiency level for a particulat qualification but can not make the link between qualification and proficiency. It must be stored somwhere !
    cheers hugh

    Hi
Just to qualify, I'm looking at qualifications associated with an employee, not those associated with a post so I don't think they are in IT0024.
    from Volkers post...
"OTYPE P (person) related to OTYPE Q via RSIGN = A and RELAT = 032
and OType Q is related to Person via B 032"
But what links OType Q or A 032 to a proficiency and proficiency scale ?

  • Qualification catalog translation

    Hello ,
We are planning for translation of catalog in German, French and some other languages. Can anyone please help me with the questions below ?
    1. How do we translate the catalog (QK, Q, Proficiency scales , descriptions ) if the language of creation is English?
    2. I see an option in transaction OOQA to translate the QK/Q description and proficiency scale description in a desired language , however i don't understand if the translation is manually keyed in there?
    3. What is the implication if the initial creation of catalog / logon language is English? How is the translation visible ?
Any guidance/ links to the above questions is greatly appreciated
    Thanks !
    Neena

    Hi Neena,
As per your questions, here are the answer's-
    1) The qualifications can be translated using the transaction OOQA
    2) The translation need to be manually keyed in there and saved for all the languages that you desire.
    3) It does not make a difference if you create a Q in EN. When you log in using German language, if there is a DE translation available (which u entered using the translation option in OOQA), then you see the German text for Qualifications, proficiencies etc. If such a text is not there, you will simply see the original English texts.
Hope this i what you were looking for.

  • Barcode / Weight from RS232 Cable interface

We are in the process of developing a solution in WDA which is  very tightly integrated with standard SAP.
For most of the inputs, my client uses barcode readers attached to the PC and also for some of the operations we are suppose to get the weights from Weigh Scales directly without human intervention except for click of a button.
My queries, will WDA support these features, as it does it in standard Dynpro, Is there any specific coding beside the interface for weigh scale is required.
    Regards
    Rohit Chowdhary

    Hi Rohit,
as far as i know, but i'm really not sure in this case, there are only WD BarCode Reader API's available for Web Dynpro Java.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/de/6b/cdf740c42f8566e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm
These and also the RFID API's are part or the mobile Add on libary and WDA isn't supported fr mobile devices up to now.
But you have a possiblility to use a virtual keystroke(simulating a keyboaurd during the scan) if your barcode vendor shippes a PC software for that. The value is then transfered into the focused WDA Input Field as if it is typed manually. For that have a look into this thread:

  • Talent Qualifications

    Hello Experts,
My first question is regarding the way that the Talent Assessment uses the qualification proficiency scales. When you create a form for the Competency Assessment, for example, it prompts you to put in a scale for that form however, you can pull in qualifications from anywhere in your catalogue to use in your Competency Categories. My question is, does the scale that you input on the form override the scale of the qualifications you pull in if they are different?
Second question, does anyone know how to limit the display of the qualifications to just a specific qualification group from the Qualification Tab on the Talent Profile and the qualification catalog when selecting a "Development Step" from the qualifiication cataloge in the Talent IDP?  Right now when you search on the qualification catalog you see the entire catalog and it doesn't include qualification groups so employees get confused which area/department these qualifications are coming from. I'm wondering if an enhancement is needed?
    Thank you

    Hi Sarah,
    Question 1:
The scale you input when you create the form is used for the answers of any questions that you add to the template, not for rating the Qualifications. The Qualifications use the scale that was assigned to them or their Qualification Group when they were created.
    Question 2:
This is a bug (well, 2 actually) and there is a SAP Note to correct it: 1835032 - Qualification search in talent profile. Basically you should be able to search by Qualifications, but the system only allows you to browse through the Qualifications Catalog.
Also, for the Development Plan see SAP Notes 1860704 - ESS Talent Profile: qualifications show incorrect names and 1845259 - TMC: Competency scale in development plan document as they are useful.
    Best regards,
    Luke

  • Interco billing price source from interco PO

    Dear SAP experts,
I have created interco PO and created delivery using tcode VL10B and proceed to create interco PO.
However, the system does not capture the price unit in PO. the amount and condition value all is the same except for the price unit. In interco PO, the price is per 1000KG, but in interco billing, the same price is per 1KG.
the setting in copy control is (delivery to billing):
    billing quantity: G
    pos/neg quantity: +
    pricing type: C
    price source: A
Please help where to correct this. Many thanks in advance. (SAP V4.7)

    Dear Michael & Shiva Ram,
Thanks for your response. i have tried to change the pricing type to G. however, since the condition type in the PO was maintained manually, the system did not copy the codition type to billing. also, the condition type is not maintained in condition record VK11/VK12 the value is being copied from PO condition type.
Please advice if there is any way to copy the price unit/scale directly from the condition record which is YBXX.maybe via routine or user exit.
    many thanks.

  • Scale action in one direction

    Hello,
I would like to take a rectangle and add and action to it that scales it into a square. I can only scale in every direction. Am I missing an easier way to accomplish this?
    Thank you

Yup, that's it.  Place the rectangle on the first slide.  Use magic move to transition to the second slide with the square.   Magic Move is very cool for transitioning images by scaling....or even turning them upside down on the second.

  • Direct Selection Tool Will Not Scale

For some reason my direct selection tool will not scale or stretch any vector or raster imgaes - CS5.  I can only grab a corner and simply move the art.  Does anyone have a fix for this?  Maybe I hit some quick command keys and did not know it?

The Direct Selection Tool (the white arrow, shortcut "a") has never had that capability. All it's ever done is select and move points. You need to use the Selection Tool (the black arrow, shortcut "v") to do those things.  If you want to scale, stretch, etc...  a sub-selection of an object, you can make your selection with the white arrow and then use the transform tool (shortcut "e") to modify what you selected.
