Profile analyzer

If anyone could point me in the right direction it would be great .... I downloaded the Exchange Profile Analyzer in order to get some stats on the Exchange server.  We are running Exchange 2007 SP1 (no rollups).  I've checked the permissions too many times - the account I'm using has full send as / receive as rights to all the mailboxes. The account also has Exchange View Only Admins.
The problem is that everytime I run the Profile Analyzer, I get an error
"cannot access any of the following links
https://mailbox server/exchange
http://mailbox server:80/exchange
It was my understanding that these virtual directories are only used for Exchange 2003 compatibility. We are running only Exchange 2007 servers. The MS documentation on this tool is poor at best and provides no help. No help from google either.
TIA.

Taken from http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2005/12/27/416524.aspx.  Try the suggestions and note that at the end there's a contact address at Microsoft if no-one else replies here and it all gets too much!
Oh, and by the way, don't forget that permissions changes can get cached for a few hours - hopefully you've taken this into account.  If not, try restarting the Information Store or rebooting, etc.
Good luck.
Question: Error: User ServerName\MDBName\Mailbox x cannot access any of the following links:http://ServerName/Exchange/.
Answer: The error will come up in the following five cases.
      1. The account that runs EPA does not have full mailbox access on the user's mailbox. This can be verified through Exchange System Manager. Please see the EPA documentation for details on how to configure and verify permissions.  If the account does have full mailbox access rights, then try using Internet Explorer to access the user's mailbox with OWA. If you are not able to access the mailbox with OWA, EPA will not be able to access it either.
      2. The authentication methods configured on the virtual directory do not include Integrated Windows Authentication which is the only method EPA supports.
      3. There are restrictions set up on the Exchange Server that restrict TCP/IP traffic in some way so that HTTP or HTTPS traffic from the machine you are running EPA on is blocked. You can work around this by running EPA on a machine that has the ability to connect with the back-end Exchange Server (such as an Exchange front-end server).
      4. When SSL is required on the server and the name on the SSL certificate does not match the name that EPA is using to access the server, EPA will fail due to SSL certificate validation errors.  We will have a fix for this in next Web Release.
      5. When OWA Forms-Based Authentication is enabled on the HTTP virtual server, EPA will fail since the DAV requests submitted by EPA will get "440 Login Timeout" error. This is similar to http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;817379 . We plan to provide better feedback for this case in the next web release version.
If these troubleshooting suggestions don't solve your EPA problems, please contact epafb AT microsoft DOT com for further investigation

    Hi Thomas,
I agree. On my site there will be only 10+ Testers. This week i have received the 4.1.1. SSP paket from NI. At the monenten they were closed!
From upgrading TS2, TS3, to TS4 i dont uninstalled. I just upgraded. So all versions are present on the maschine !
With VersionSelector i switch through the versions i like and figure out if everything is working well under latest version.
Another thing NI should think about is LabViewVersions and TS:
I have TS2.0 programms that use dll from VC6,8 or CVI6,7,8 in the same file. They run under all new TS versions without any modifications!!
But it is impossible to  run vis from LV6,7,8  under the same TS. Well masscompile ! but then they wont run under old stuff.
Well i am not afraid of upgrading TS. But of masscompiling a !!TESTED!! vi to new vi-version.

  • Is there such a thing as an Exchange modeling tool? What I am looking for is....

I am designing or trying to do a conceptual design to include two sites with under 30ms response times between sites. I want to include a four member DAG. I have a design that I would like to have reviewed by some type of tool. I just need to see if my design
is solid or whether or not something is missing. I am not the Exchange person, but tossed the task of upgrading from Exchange 2003 (in two hops 2010, 2013).
    Thanks in advance,
    BobJ-

Exchange sizing calculator is the best tool to design databases, HA and hardware configuration as suggested by DJ. Please remember that you would need to enter :
    1. User Profile Size (Exchange 2003 has a tool -
    Exchange Server Profile Analyzer)
    2. Average Message Size
    3. Number of users, Servers, Harddisk size, Server configuration, HA and DAG requirements etc. and would give nice recommendations.
However, in your scenario, you have not mentioned number of users in each site. Because you have 4 Member DAG, you would need File Share Witness (FSW), and that would in your Primary Site (either A or B), which means during WAN failure Secondary site will
lose quorum and all database would get dismounted.
If both location have equal number of users, then you need to start looking at two DAG Infrastructure.

  • USING DBMS_PROFILER

I want to check performance of several pl/sql procedures.
how can i user dbms_profiler for that?
which tables and which columns are important to check performance and statistics?
    thanks

    Hope this helps :)
The PL/SQL Code Profiler, the DBMS_PROFILER package
Install the package and supporting elements
    Start the profiler
    Run your code
    Stop the profiler
    Analyze the results
    Installing the Code Profiler
You will probably have to install the code yourself (in the SYS schema) Check the package specification file for documentation and guidelines
    Specification: dbmspbp.sql Body: prvtpbp.plb
Files are located in Rdbms\Admin unless otherwise noted
You must install the profile tables by running the proftab.sql script. Can define them in a shared schema or in separate schemas
    Creates three tables:
    PLSQL_PROFILER_RUNS: parent table of runs
PLSQL_PROFILER_UNITS: program units executed in run
PLSQL_PROFILER_DATA: profiling data for each line in a program unit
These tables, particularly _DATA, can end up with lots of rows in them
Start the profiler, Run your code and Stop the profiler
    BEGIN
    DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE (
    DBMS_PROFILER.START_PROFILER (
    ’showemps ‘ ||
    TO_CHAR (SYSDATE, ‘YYYYMMDD HH24:MI:SS’)
    showemps;
    DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE (

  • Can't use profiler (Performance Analyzer) in Sun Studio 12, please help!!

    Hi,
I've mandriva 2008 (linux), and I've installed Sun Studio 12.
At the first start of Sun Studio a message appear:
Warning - could not install some modules:
ATD Sun Studio Core - The module named com.sun.tools.swdev.toolscommon was needed and not found.
dbx Debugger UI - The module named com.sun.tools.swdev.toolscommon was needed and not found.
ATD Performance Analyzer Actions - The module named com.sun.forte.st.mpmt/1 was needed and not found.
ATD Performance Analyzer Actions - The module named com.sun.tools.swdev.toolscommon was needed and not found.
All other modules works correctly, but unfortunately I need the profiler (performance analyzer) because I want to speed up my C++ code. What can I do???
    Please help!
    NOTE:
I've added to my .bash_profile this lines:
    PATH=/opt/sun/sunstudio12/bin:$PATH
    export PATH
    PATH=/opt/sun/sunstudio12/man/:$PATH
    export PATH
    LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt/sun/sunstudio12/prod/lib
    export LD_LIBRARY_PATH
but unfortunately this don't solve the problem....

If I type `uname -p` this message appear:
    [mlx@localhost ~]$ `uname -p`
bash: Intel(R): command not foundIf I type: --userdir won't work as you can see:
sunstudio --userdir /home/mlx/.sunstudio/12.0-Linux-Intel\(R\)\ Pentium\(R\)\ M\ processor\ 1.73GHz/I get an 426 line error (but this is the correct location, as man of sunstudio say), while if I type for example:
sunstudio --userdir /home/mlx/error 426 disappears, but I get anyway the error on the module:
Warning - could not install some modules:
ATD Performance Analyzer Actions - The module named com.sun.forte.st.mpmt/1 was needed and not found.
ATD Performance Analyzer Actions - The module named com.sun.tools.swdev.toolscommon was needed and not found.
dbx Debugger UI - The module named com.sun.tools.swdev.toolscommon was needed and not found.
ATD Sun Studio Core - The module named com.sun.tools.swdev.toolscommon was needed and not found. On the other hand I've searched the "id" exe and it is in /bin:
    [mlx@localhost ~]$ id
    uid=500(mlx) gid=500(mlx) gruppi=500(mlx)so I've created a sym link:
    cd /usr/bin
ln -s /bin/id ./idbut when I start Sun Studio 12 I get again the error on the module.
So I've tryed to reinstall everything (yes, also OS) but it (partially) solves only the problem installing with batch_installer. Infact now I can use batch_installer but at the end of installation it say:
    [root@localhost tmp]# ./batch_installer --accept-sla
Installation failed: cleanup successful.Anyway SunStudio 12 still works, but the main problem about the module of performance analyzer is still here...
how can I solve this? Please help!

  • User profiles for analyzer and query designer

    Hello,
I have one short question about user-profiles.
Which user-profile should I best use for a user, who should just use the BEx Analyzer and which profile does a user need for using BEx Analyzer + BEx Query Designer.
    Thanks

I just need the SAP-Roles which allows a user to use Analyzer and Query Designer.

  • Collect and analyze - main app gets profiled, but not  dlopen()ed .so's

I have an app compiled with gcc/g++ using -g -O0, that I'm trying to profile via collect.
    /opt/sun/sunstudio12.1/prod/bin/collect -o hw.1.er -p on -M off -S on -A on /users/jjmcwill/software/hw11Video/hw/bin/linux64/hw
After running, analyze shows most time spent in <Unknown>. That time is in a .so we dyload() during application initialization.
Is there something I'm missing to enable profiling of dlopen()ed shared objects? The man page for collect led me to believe this would work, but I'm a first time user of these tools.
    Centos 4.8 x64
    Thanks,
    Jeff

CentOS 4.x is not a supported release. We do support CentOS 5.3, among other Linux's.
That said, I don't think that's the problem.
We do correctly profile dlopen()'d libraries. You refer to a dyload() call -- I'm not
familiar with that API. We test that on various Linux's every night.
Can you either send the application and the library it opens, or a smaller test case
the shows the problem? Or at least the section of source code that does the
    dlopen?
Can you also send or post the log.xml file from the experiment?
    Thanks,

    4 Recommendations:
Your database has relatively high logical I/O at 42,976 reads per second. Logical Reads includes data block reads from both memory and disk. High LIO is sometimes associated with high CPU activity. CPU bottlenecks occur when the CPU run queue exceeds the number of CPUs on the database server, and this can be seen by looking at the "r" column in the vmstat UNIX/Linux utility or within the Windows performance manager. Consider tuning your application to reduce unnecessary data buffer touches (SQL Tuning or PL/SQL bulking), using faster CPUs or adding more CPUs to your system.
You are performing more than 15,666 disk reads per second. High disk latency can be caused by too-few physical disk spindles. Compare your read times across multiple datafiles to see which datafiles are slower than others. Disk read times may be improved if contention is reduced on the datafile, even though read times may be high due to the file residing on a slow disk. You should identify whether the SQL accessing the file can be tuned, as well as the underlying characteristics of the hardware devices.
Check your average disk read speed later in this report and ensure that it is under 7ms. Assuming that the SQL is optimized, the only remaining solutions are the addition of RAM for the data buffers or a switch to solid state disks. Give careful consideration these tablespaces with high read I/O: TS_CCPS, TS_OTHERS, TS_AC_POSTED03, TS_RATING, TS_GP.
You have more than 1,222 unique SQL statements entering your shared pool, with the resulting overhead of continuous RAM allocation and freeing within the shared pool. A hard parse is expensive because each incoming SQL statement must be re-loaded into the shared pool; with the associated overhead involved in shared pool RAM allocation and memory management. Once loaded, the SQL must then be completely re-checked for syntax & semantics and an executable generated. Excessive hard parsing can occur when your shared_pool_size is too small (and reentrant SQL is paged out) or when you have non-reusable SQL statements without host variables. See the cursor_sharing parameter for an easy way to make SQL reentrant and remember that you should always use host variables in you SQL so that they can be reentrant.

    2 Recommendations:
Your Buffer Hit ratio is 69.13%. The buffer hit ratio measures the probability that a data block will be in the buffer cache upon a re-read of the data block. If your database has a large number of frequently referenced table rows (a large working set), then investigate increasing your db_cache_size. For specific recommendations, see the output from the data buffer cache advisory utility (using the v$db_cache_advice utility). Also, a low buffer hit ratio is normal for applications that do not frequently re-read the same data blocks. Moving to SSD will alleviate the need for a large data buffer cache.
Your shared pool maybe filled with non-reusable SQL with 95.04% memory usage. The Oracle shared poolcontains Oracle´s library cache, which is responsible for collecting, parsing, interpreting, and executing all of the SQL statements that go against the Oracle database. You can check the dba_hist_librarycache table in Oracle10g to see your historical library cache RAM usage.

You have high network activity with 390.6 SQL*Net roundtrips to/from client per second, which is a high amount of traffic. Review your application to reduce the number of calls to Oracle by encapsulating data requests into larger pieces (i.e. make a single SQL request to populate all online screen items). In addition, check your application to see if it might benefit from bulk collection by using PL/SQL "forall" or "bulk collect" operators.
You have 3,931.5 consistent gets examination per second. "Consistent gets - examination" is different than regular consistent gets. It is used to read undo blocks for consistent read purposes, but also for the first part of an index read and hash cluster I/O. To reduce logical I/O, you may consider moving your indexes to a large blocksize tablespace. Because index splitting and spawning are controlled at the block level, a larger blocksize will result in a flatter index tree structure.
You have high update activity with 446.0 db block changes per second. The DB block changes are a rough indication of total database work. This statistic indicates (on a per-transaction level) the rate at which buffers are being dirtied and you may want to optimize your database writer (DBWR) process. You can determine which sessions and SQL statements have the highest db block changes by querying the v$session and v$sessatst views.
You have high disk reads with 15,666.7 per second. Reduce disk reads by increasing your data buffer size or speed up your disk read speed by moving to SSD storage. You can monitor your physical disk reads by hour of the day using AWR to see when the database has the highest disk activity.
You have high small table full-table scans, at 81.6 per second. Verify that your KEEP pool is sized properly to cache frequently referenced tables and indexes. Moving frequently-referenced tables and indexes to SSD or theWriteAccelerator will significantly increase the speed of small-table full-table scans.
    Buffer Pool Advisory
    Current:     3,599,469,418 disk reads
    Optimized:     1,207,668,233 disk reads
    Improvement:     66.45% fewer
The Oracle buffer cache advisory utility indicates 3,599,469,418 disk reads during the sample interval. Oracle estimates that doubling the data buffer size (by increasing db_cache_size) will reduce disk reads to 1,207,668,233, a 66.45% decrease.

    1 Recommendations:
You are not using large blocksizes for your index tablespaces. Oracle research proves that indexes will build flatter tree structures in larger blocksizes.

Systemwide Tuning using STATSPACK Reports [ID 228913.1] and http://jonathanlewis.wordpress.com/statspack-examples/ should be useful.

  • Best tool to analyze SSAS OLAP performance?

I have SQL Server 2014 SSAS OLAP CUBE and Power View SharePoint 2013. Response time is slow in report.
What is best tool to test performance and analyze reasons why Cube is slow?
    Kenny_I

    Hi Kenny_l,
According to your description, you want to monitor the SSAS performance. Right?
In Analysis Services, we can monitor the performance of Analysis Services by using SQL Server Profiler or Performance Monitor. In SQL Server Profiler, we can create and manage traces and analyze and replay trace results. In Performance Monitor,
you can monitor the performance of a Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) instance by using performance counters. Please refer to links below:
Use SQL Server Profiler to Monitor Analysis Services
    Performance Counters (SSAS)
Also we have a lot of load test tool for SSAS, please refer to the link below:

  • PL/SQL Hierarchical Profiler: plshprof  output - meaning of Ind% column

    Hi,
During analysis of an PL/SQL Performance issue I started using the DBMS_HPROF Profiler, but could not find a good source of information about interpreting the out html-files.
I went through the Database advanced Application Developers Guide chapter: "Using the PL/SQL Hierarchical Profiler" which has a small section explaining the html output generated by this tool.
I'm aware of the possibility of using the analyze function for populating the DBMSHP_* Tables, but I would like also to use the html output too.
Unfortunately there is no explanation about the Ind% column in the various html pages in the documentation. Searching the internet didn't bring up much information either.
    for example:
Function Elapsed Time (microsecs) Data sorted by Total Subtree Elapsed Time (microsecs)
18824664856 microsecs (elapsed time) & 23390789 function calls
Subtree      Ind%      Function      Ind%      Descendants      Ind%      Calls      Ind%      Function Name

.Has someone used this tool and knows the meaning ?

  • Your computer restarted because of a problem. Analyzing Crash Reports.

I have a 27-inch iMac (late 2013) running the latest version of Mavericks (10.9.4). The Mac randomly restart at least once a week. Sometimes during use, sometimes overnight.
I ran Apple Diagnostic a few times and it didn't find any errors (this was a few weeks ago). Disk Utility didn't find any errors as well (I also repaired permissions just in case). Still I decided to erase/format the HDD and installed a fresh 10.9.4 like 2 weeks ago. The problem still persists.
Any ideas? Can anyone help analyzing these kernel panic reports?

  • How do I prevent "The user profile service service failed the log on" error messages?

I work for an organization with approximately 60 staff members across ~80 Windows 7 Professional PCs. Users log in with Active Directory accounts.
Approximately once per month, a random user will get an error message while attempting to log into their machine that says "The user profile service service failed the log on."  The solution to resolve this issue is here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947215?ppud=4&wa=wsignin1.0.
The problem is that I want to PREVENT this issue from happening, as it is incredibly inconvenient for the user. I had one staff member board a 5-hour plane trip expecting to do work, and once she got in the air she logged in and
received the error message and was unable to use her computer for the trip. I've had others locked out of their computer with deadlines to get things done, while I am at home off the clock. Editing the registry is not an easy fix, and so it's not something
I can just post instructions for in a knowledgebase article.
Does anyone know how to prevent this issue from occurring? I believe that it has something to do with a network-based startup script, or a service trying to connect to our file server, or the computer trying to connect to our ad server. All of these
are blocked by firewalls (unless the user is off-site), and I suspect that the services may be timing out, causing the user profile service service failed the logon error message, but I can't seem to eliminate it, after nearly a year of trying.
90% of the time this problem occurs when the user is off-site, but it has happened while the user is in the office too. Once the user gets this error message, the only way to resolve the problem is to log into their computer as a localadministrator account
and perform the method #1 fix in the knowledgebase article.
    Thanks

Have you checked the logged files in event viewer around the time when problem occurred?
Is there any suspicious events like error or warning related to this issue.
