Profile Loggin issue.

Hi All,
We have been getting errors on our Win2K8 server which are causing problems and are getting worse. It is taking an age to login and we are getting Alerts and Event log errors - see below.

Is there anyone having similar issues to this. Can someone offer any direction? The client machines are Win7 and the servers are VM and W2k8 R2. if you require any further details please let me know.
P.S. I believe that there is a profile Hive Cleanup application, can this be used on W2k8 or is it for W2k and W2k3 exclusively?
Thanks.

The same is logged when trying to view the PWA site of our Project Server 2010 web app.
All other web apps are responding as expected and, strangely enough, other pages and sites in the intranet and PWA Site Collections are fine too.
Has anyone any ideas as to why this problem exists and why only certain pages/sites are affected?
The User Profile Service is responding on all 4 servers in the farm and User Profile Sync's are running on time with no issues.
I've searched and found similar issues but there are no issues with our SharePoint Web Services site authentication settings which is proposed as a resolution in the following article even though our User Profile Services all seem fine...

  • 2 iPhone Household w/ Outlook Profile Sync Issues with iTunes beyond 7.3.1

I’m huge Apple supporter and have to say this is the most frustrating computer issue I have ever come across. My wife and I both have iPhones and we sync them to the same pc except different Outlook profiles. iTunes 7.3.1 works fine when we sync our iPhones on each of out Outlook profiles, anything beyond 7.3.1 will automatically sync my contacts and calendar directly to her phone. It’s as if iTunes cannot distinguish between the two outlook profiles on the newer iTunes versions. I have tried both Outlook 2003 and 2007 with newer iTunes, and it's still not able to distinguish the two profiles.
    Any would be greatly appreciated.

i have a similar problem, having one good and one bad outlook profile. Used to sync just fine against the good one (which is called 'new profile). new version is defaulting against the bad one, which has none of my contacts...
where does one setup which named profile is to be used?
    thank you! any help appreciated!

  • Windows 7 Event ID 1530 User Profile Service Issues

    I have a new Lenovo Thinkpad W510 running W7 32-bit.
I get Event ID 1530 warnings at every shutdown.  Twice I have not been able to boot into my user profile and I get a "Configuring your desktop" message and put into a termporary profile and Event Viewer shows Errors for Event ID's 1508, 1511, 1515 and 1502.  In each of the two cases, when I rebooted, I was able to get into my regular user profile.  However, I take this issue seriously and would like to resolve it.

I don't have any applications open at shutdown per Windows Explorer.  tvt_reg_monitor_svc.exe is a Lenovo application for monitoring registry activities.  I don't know if that application is involved with my problems, but am suspicious.
Any assistance would really be appreciated.

    I have a solution. It's not pretty!
In the process I lost some user data (recent docs) + the ability to create recent docs... I ticked and unticked the relevant checkboxes, restarted, and the 'recent programs' list began to re-populate.
There are some people who are having issues with auto-reconnection failing - this is not for you.
This is for people that don't like to see information events arguably incorrectly
    identified as warnings.
    The fix?
Computer mgmt has the data collector sets (under performance).
Under Event Trace Sessions you'll find EventLog-System, containing all the event log 'system' sources (I think).
You won't have permission to change this as an admin. You need to be the sys. I achieved this by using the sticky keys event-handler to launch taskmgr (I was testing alternatives to diskpart scripts to load a VHD @ startup)
    REG ADD "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\sethc.exe" /v Debugger /t REG_SZ /d "c:\windows\taskmgr.exe"
running that at a cmd prompt will allow you to 5-tap shift to load taskmgr- as SYSTEM (god).
from here run compmgmt.msc, stop eventlogsys, remove the wlan-autoconfig source, et voile.

  • Condition Profile Definition issue

    Dear Experts,
I am setting up Event Driven GATP.
In SPRO, while setting up Qty. Assignment to ODL (QODL), I go to "Define Process Category for Quantity Assignment to Order Due List". And there I defined a "Condition Profile", then under this I should get option to define 'Fields' for setting up the condition like for material, Plant etc. But I am not getting 'Fields' folder.
Please let me know why I am not getting 'Fields' folder:
Is it because of some authorization issue with my user?
Or have I missed some setting?
    I am in 7.0 version.
    Regards
    Rinju

    Hi Rinju,
If the FIELDS folder won't display in the Dialog Structure for Condition Profiles in the IMG Activity Define Process Category for Quantity Assignment to Order Due Lists (QODL), here's a workaround:
In SE11 go to display the table view /SAPAPO/V_EDQAPP. Then in the menu (topmost menu of the screen) go to Utilities>Contents. A popup window will display entitled "<SYSTEM NO> dETERMINE WORK AREA:ENTRY". Select the condition profile you created in the IMG Activity Define Process Category for Quantity Assignment to Order Due Lists (QODL). After you ENTER, you will be at the FIELDS folder screen where you can enter the Field Name, Operator, Lower Charact. Value, Upper Charact. Value etc, by clicking 'Display/Change', New entries, etc. Enter as you would had the folder been in the IMG activty.
    Hope this helps
    Ramon

  • Lens profile downloader issue with download target dirs (Win7)

    Hi,
I installed LPD on Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit and did some downloads.
Now I find that this does not work very nicely.
    a) All downloads end up in adirectory "C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\LensProfiles\1.0\Downloaded".
This is not really where Lightroom is able to find them. The Software is looking in "C:\ProgramData\Adobe\CameraRaw\LensProfiles\1.0\[Maker]"
    b) While the preinstalled profiles have nice speaking names, the downloads for no obviuos reasons get a cryptic name. such as "92713070afd245e19b229e409f089b38.lcp", which makes moving the files to the right place not a fun job, since its not obvious what the content is.
Anyone with similar or other experience under Win 7?
I think the first issue is due to LPD trying to save profiles to the right place but not having the rights to do so. The "Roaming" dirs in Windows usually are meant for this I think.
Any ideas how to solve it?

Lens Profiles under the ...Roaming are findable by LR/ACR and this is the normal place, so a profile ending up there is by design not because of some system error.  It is a distinct location to keep them separate from the vendor-supplied profiles.
The gibberish for the name is to keep files from different sources but with the same name from overwriting each other.  The file is XML so you can certainly look inside the file to see what it is for and rename it to something you like better.
Do your downloaded profiles not work as you're expecting or are you just seeing things you wonder about and suggesting there could be a problem?

  • Epson R2400 Possible incorrect default profile causing issues reported

I'm based in the UK and I'm currently testing the 6.12 driver with my 2400 on Leopard. Tests have been done on clean installs of LR1.3.1 and CS3 on 10.4.10, 10.5 and 10.5.1 on both a Intel and G5-based Macs.
The main issue that I have spotted, and believe to be the cause of many of the issues reported so far is as follows. If you check, via the Colorsync utility, the default assigned profile for the R2400 after installing the driver onto a clean 10.5 or 10.5.1 system you'll find that it is set to "SPR2400 Premium Glossy" rather than "SPR2400 Epson Standard".
I have always known the Epson drivers for many Epson printers to use the "Epson Standard" profile as default and therefore believe that the wrong default profile is set by the installer and this in turn creates a kind of double-profiling effect when an application tries to manage the colour rather than the driver.
This particular issue only causes problems when printing via Lightroom, that is to say that I can print from Photoshop 10.0.1(CS3) using the correct custom profile and managing the colour through Photoshop along with turning off colour management in the Epson driver just as we always have in prior versions.
This default profile can not, to my knowledge, be changed by the user. Please note that I'm also using custom profiles created in-house which requires us to use the application-managed print route rather than the driver-managed route.
I'm actually in the middle of discussing this issue with both Adobe (via techsupport email) and Epson UK (by phone but not getting much success) as I have had no success with the new driver and Lightroom but also intermittently with InDesign and Photoshop (both CS3 versions with latest updates. For the time being I'm back on 10.4.10 with LR1.3.1 and CS3 with no problems.
I'm hoping that Jeff Schewe, Ian Lyons or someone with the right contacts can raise this issue further with Adobe and Epson and get them to resolve this issue. I have read both Ian and Jeff's posts and would like to thank them (and others) for their help in explaining some of the reasons for the issues but along the same path they really are the people we look to for answers at times like these. Hope this may provide some help to solve at least some of the issues we're seeing.

You're describing pretty much what I'm seeing here with the UK version in the UK so it looks like I was right about the default profile being set differently from previous drivers.
Could you describe step-by-step how you setup Lightroom and the driver settings used when you get good prints using your profiles? I'm interested for comparison with my own workflow.
If I understand correctly from past information and experience the Standard profile if used when the colour management is turned off in the driver and acts a kind of null transform so therefore any other choice of profile as default would appear to suggest that we are asking Lightroom to colour manage the image using the profile we select in the application but then the driver is using a second profile (Premium Glossy) when colour management is turned off in the driver where previously it would be using the Standard profile which does not affect the data passed from the application.
It's still weird to me that I can get good prints from Photoshop using the driver and profiles under Leopard but, from what I've read by Jeff Schewe, this could be down to the new print pipeline being used by Lightroom. Not pointing the finger anywhere but just making an observation.
    John
With all due respect you solution of using the standard Epson profile and papers doesn't work for those of us who need to use custom profiles for third party papers, even before the third party inks are introduced into the equation. For example when printing on Ilford papers I would still need to specify Ilford's profile for the R2400 even when I'm using Epsons inks and this would still give problems.
Also we've been using the third-party (Lyson PhotoChrome) inks with a range of printers including the R2400 and 7600 for well over 5 years and had no issues before when using Lightroom or Photoshop (or any other application for that matter), the problems only arise when using 10.5.
I'm not sure were the suggestion to delete "both sets of drivers" from leading as I've not got two drivers, that is to say that each install has been done on a clean OS before testing. I actually have an external drive with four partitions for each type of Mac (G5 or Intel). Each drive has a clean install of 10.4.8, 10.4.10, 10.5 and 10.5.1 so that we can "roll back" our internal drive any any point in the testing by simply cloning the OS we need on to the internal drive and then start again, installing just the drivers and apps we want to test.
Hope we can find some more information out from Epson as to the actual reason for the different defaults even if this just clears any confusion about what it is actually doing during different workflows. I'll keep the forum informed with anything I find out but would still like Ian to post the settings from that the people that he knows are getting good results.
    Cheers for now
    Jason

  • ICC profiles - few issues

Dears, I've been trying to understand color managment issues and there are still some gaps difficult to fill so far. Thanks in advance for a little support in answering following questions (OS: Win7 64bit, Dell Vostro 3560, testing CS6 ext.) :
    1.   I am aware that screen of my notebook is not able to generate corectly the whole sRGB space. My question is : if I calibrate the screan by Spyder or other device and if I open in Photoshop a picture showing the whole sRGB gamut is it possible to use "color warning" function in CS6 to display which collors will not be generated by my screen?  Is the procedure described in http://damiensymonds.blogspot.com/2010/04/check-your-monitors-gamut.html correct? If not - how to make the settings to do that?
    2. How I can find in Photoshop my actual ICC screen profile (it is notebook)? I found in C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\color the profile called "CalibratedDisplayProfile-1.icc" which is probably the standard screen profile of my notebook but I cannot find that name in Photoshop list of profiles.
    3. I understand the need for ICC profiles of hardwere like screens, printers, scanners, etc. which enable translation of information about collors but what is the meaning of ICC profile of a picture itself? What is editing (or working) collor space?
    4. When you save a picture you can choose an option to embed a profile. Why this is necessary? Is it a profile of a target printer or screen on which the picture is going to be watched?
    Thanks for any ideas!

Just want to clarify one thing: The display profile is not something you, as a user, ever need to concern yourself with (with a few specialized exceptions). All you need to do is make sure it's there and valid. The rest is handled by the OS and applications (insofar as they are color managed and will actually use it).
    Yes, that is  clear.
If it's listed in Photoshop Color Settings as Monitor RGB <profile name>, that's it. End of story, nothing more you need to do.
The issue that disturbs me is only that  I do not know how to recognize the name of ICC profile of my screen in the list of profiles of Adobe Photoshop. For example when I installed a profile of minilab Frontier I see the icc file in my OS: C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\color as well as I see this profile in Photoshop list for example when I want to choose a profile for proofing or profile conversion. I know that when you calibrate a monitor and you save the current icc profile it is also visible in Photoshop profiles list. So my only question is why I am not finding the profile of my screen "CalibratedDisplayProfile-1.icc" if its visible in C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\color ???
Proofing to monitor RGB is unnecessary, all it shows you is how the image looks without any color management at all.
Well, to be honest the above is not very clear to me because:
    a) I heard that if you work on a wide-gamut monitor you can proof to other monitor for example to emulate how your client (who owns worse sRGB screen) will perceive your work
    b) I would like to see which colors from sRGB space will not be corectly shown on my monitor according to the excercise described in http://damiensymonds.blogspot.com/2010/04/check-your-monitors-gamut.ht ml
And under no circumstances should it be used as document profile or working space. That point needs to be hammered in for the benefit of anyone reading this, because it's a very common misconception.
Ok about moniotr' profile. But do you agree that converting to a profile of a minilab (which becomes embeded to the original image) can be used in order to make sure that your work will be corectly printed?
And one more thing: I suppose some confusion could arise because the term "convert" is used for all normal color management operations. Mechanically, they're all the same. But there is an operational distinction in that some conversions are done by the user, as when converting a document from one color space to another. Others are automatically performed by applications, like when the document RGB values are converted into the monitor profile for display. For this reason, some like to call this a "color transform" to avoid giving the impression that this is something the user should do to the file itself. However, I like to use the same term because it's basically the same thing that is happening. So, to sum up: You need two profiles to have color management. Where the file is coming from (document RGB), and where the file is going to (monitor, printer etc).
So how to explain the following fact: I took an image with embeded sRGB IEC61966-2.1 profile (the image which I presented in my post from May 11, 2013 1:49 PM). I converted the image profile by EDIT->CONVERT TO PROFILE and I choose a RGB profile of a minilab. Collors reduced as in proofing test. Now when I open the file I see that the source profile (the embeded profile) is the profile of chosen minilab. So the initilal sRGB IEC61966-2.1 image profile disappeared.

  • Paper profile setting issues

I'm pretty sure this has been discussed before, but my searches aren't yielding results..  I usually make my custom paper profiles on a PC, but need to do some on a Mac (OS 10.6). I can make the custom profiles with either an i1 Profiler or a Colormunki Photo.  I'm printing on a canon 9500 mark 2, and there seems to be no way to manually turn off the color management when printing the test charts.  The i1 does give me the option of saving the chart and printing it through Photoshop, but that doesn't seem to solve the issue.  I've looked through multiple settings and can't find the off setting.  I understand this is an issue, but I've heard there is a way to do it.  I just can't find it.  I apologize if this has become an annoying question, but can anyone point me in the right direction.
    Thanks,
    Doug

    Louis,
I understand the process (PC – now Mac).  My comment was meant to suggest that Apple – and possibly Canon – need to get their act(s) together.  Probably in an attempt to make things more user friendly, they’ve removed a needed tool.  Using a profile is easier on the Mac, but making one is easier on the PC.  On the PC you print the test patches straight from the profiling software ( or other software) and simply turn off color management.  There is no need to involve any other software. The need for an extra piece of software is the over complication.  If there were an “off” button when using the Mac, there would be no need to use this special tool.  In my field – photography – Mac’s are currently considered the standard.  It just seems they’ve dropped the ball on this critical aspect of the process by not having the “off” option.
    Sorry for the soap box.
    Thanks for the help.

  • Profile functionality issues

I am trying to restrict the options that are available in a list for users to
select during checkin, but want the options to be available in the search
profile still. as a result I have created a global rule which tells the profiles
on checkin to hide the 4 options from view.
This has worked successfully in the 'records' profile which is a generic profile
created with the application. This option will not work with our generated
profiles (still displays the options on checkin page).
I have tried pushing a test profile to the config manager from the simple
profiles page but this has not made any difference.
I thought that it could be due to the simple profiles being created for use as
both checkin and search rather than having seperate ones. eg one for checkin and
    one for search.
This has resulted in the search profile that was copied off the original profile
to not apply any rules for grouping, restrictions etc. where the checkin profile
with all the same rules still groups and restricts.
    any ideas?

Are you using both SimpleProfiles profile rules AND Configuration Manager rules on electronic content?
I'd suggest that you don't use SimpleProfiles for electronic content. (You don't have a choice for Physical Content Management or any adapter based content - Simple Profiles is the only option in those cases.) I spent the better part of a year (a few years ago) working with 10g and fighting issues with SimpleProfiles - patch by patch. I came to the conclusion that only using them as the last resort is the preferred option.
Configuration Manager profiles for electronic content are more powerful in terms of being able to readily script for exceptions like you are requesting. The only thing where the SimpleProfiles interface benefits you is in being able to adding multiple fields in a rule at one time. My opinion is that the one convenience gained isn't worth the overall trouble of the rest of the functionality in SimpleProfiles. You've noted that you've raised other bugs which probably won't be addressed due to sunsetting. That's the cue that you're fighting an uphill battle.
Additionally, I wouldn't advocate the use of Configuration Manager profiles and SimpleProfiles profiles in tandem to control behavior for electronic content. There shouldn't be interaction issues (in theory), but SimpleProfiles in 10g were so flaky in performance terms that I wouldn't discount the possibility of conflicts. Also, it narrows down the places where you would have to troubleshoot.
    Hope that helps.

  • Flash Player's .LIC file name excessive - Profile Load Issues

    Good Morning Everyone,
Sorry to jump right in with a question, but this issue has brougt a very widely used resource here to a comlete stop.
The issue that we are having is that roaming profiles fail to load the following file:
    \\SERVER_NAME\USER_NAME$\PROFILE_PATH\Application Data\Adobe\Flash Player\APSPrivateData2\0\drm-ax-win-x86\fU27D-Qk2iN2mM3R3nAgpW05-R4=\SbJVsrWvzia9YuK1nMdj Ye_4dEcE=\QTlDNThDRjMtRDkwNS0zKJHGBUYTREQtRTg0NUY0QTM3REY0\NDA4Qzk0RkMtNjEyOC0zHNJKOKIUYTT TItMjAyQzlGMDQwQUNB.lic
The line above was modified to remove unique information, however in its original form is 263 characters in length.. Thus is my problem.
How do I prevent Flash player from using these obnoxious file names?
This would be Flash Player ActiveX 11.6.602.171 running on Windows XP SP3
    Thank you

We are able to do the following to get the users logged in:
    1. On the workstation side, edit the user's local profile by removing the folder drm-ax-win-x86 and all subfolders.
    2. Have user test log-in.  If an error occurs still, continue below.
    1. Have user restart PC to clear file locks.
    2. Remove \\SERVER_NAME\USER_NAME$\PROFILE_PATH\Application Data\Adobe\Flash Player\APSPrivateData2\0\drm-ax-win-x86\ folder/subfolders from their SERVER SIDE profile stoarage location
    3. Repeat # 1 above to remove the local copy.
The issue is that even though this will get the user in and working, Flash will create this folder again and populate it with another obnoxiously named file.  So this is an every day fix.
We're running a Powershell script against every PC on the network to monitor and delete this directory as needed, and I'm a few lines away from having the same script running against the server side profile storage location.  I'm unable to share these scripts, but they will provide a very temporary workaround until we can get some answers.

  • 5800 XM - HS Calendar and Profile shortcut issue

    Hi,
I am facing an issue with the Calendar and Profile shortcut in the Homescreen of my Nokia 5800 XM. That shortcut suddenly stopped working and I am not able to select Profile from Homescreen. When I tap at the top centre (where the Calendar and profile shortcut usually found), I am able to feel the touch vibrate. But I am not able to see any dropdown showing different profiles. Please help me to fix this issue.
    Thanks,

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Okay, understood ..
Lets move on to another method, Press & Hold These Button "Camera Key + Green Key + Red Key" simulatenously and turn ON the phone. So all will be 4 buttons involved. Press and hold these buttons until you got the country selection screen, this method needs very flexible hands.
But remember, this method will wipe the phone memory entirely including contacts and reverts all system files as it leaves the factory. I recommend you to take out the memory card before performing this activity

  • Deploy iPads AC 1.5 + PM 3 enrollment profile install-issues

I'm having a hard time in deploying iPads the OTA-way using Profile Manager 3 and Apple Configurator 1.5.
Under Profile Manager (OS X Mavericks) I have a valid trust certificate and a created enrollment profile (for the iPads).
Under Apple Configurator 1.5 I prepare an iPad using Supervised mode and added the trust certificate and a WiFi-setting. In the Supervise-tab I add the enrollment profile (created in Profile Manager). Everything works nice until the enrollment profile needs to be installed. Every time I get an error stating the profile could not be installed... AC 1.5 has a new feature on the Prepare-tab: anchor profiles. Is it possible this has something to do with the error I get? I can't find any info on that new feature...
Extra info: I'm using the same Profile Manger to deploy iMacs and this works without problems. So the trust certificate is valid.
I've been watching so many video's demonstrating the deployment-process of iPads using AC and PM. Those installments all work. Very frustrating... I can't get it to work... I've to state that all those video's use AC 1.4.x and the iPads have versions prior to iOS7.1.
I even have tried to enroll the iPads on a manual basis but I always end up with the same error.
Can anyone help me or give some tips in order to get my iPads enrolled?

    Same issues here.
    Buggy as ****..
Also after some time, the Profile Manager PAne doesn't even fill in Server.app.....stays at Loading...
Nevertheless, the service itself works with the bug you outlined, plus enroll is impossible for me (check my post here: Can't enroll devices with Profile Manager - invalid key  )
I hope all these get fixed in 10.7.1   !!!
