Profile manager: profile not verified

Hi. I have a problem with Profile manager enroll IPhones.
System: OS X 10.9.3 (Build 13D65)
Server: Server 3.1.2 (Build 13S4517)
Installed wildcard certificate for all services. Installed apple signed code signing certificate.
On my macbook all right, but on Iphones profile not verified and errors in system.log:

  • Firefox will not start and profile manager will not start

This has happened on two accounts on my laptop. I am running windows 7, 64 bit and firefox 18.0. Firefox had been running on this machine for several years without incident, but suddenly when I try to start firefox, it will not start. The little wait icon spins for about a second then disappears without starting firefox. Other browser will start and run. I reboot and when I click on the icon to start firefox nothing happens. I tried to start the profile manager as seen in the knowledge base, but nothing starts either. I switched to another account on this computer and firefox started and ran for about a week, until today where it just stopped working. I have not tried to reinstall firefox as the message boards say this will not help. Any ideas?

Thanks for your help. I had tried starting Firefox in safe-mode before I posted this request, but it did not work. I tried to restore the system to an earlier version, but that made everything worse. Two accounts were unusable and one sort of worked, so I reloaded the operating system and now firefox works, for how long, I don't know. But thanks again for your suggestion.

  • Profile Manager does not recognize existing OD master

I built up a new Mountain Lion server at home, migrated all user data from an older server to it and today brought it into production in a colocation center. The nly thing I had to change in the colcocation environment was the IP address of the server. Everything else, even the hostname (DNS name), was already set in my home environment (I ran a DNS server at home for this). Profile Manager was already set up and therefore also Open Directory was running (without certificate). All users (except the admin) are stored in OD. At home I used the airport interface with a private address and in the colocation environment I use a public IP address on the ethernet interface.
After placing the server in the colocation centre verything went OK, but for Profile Manager. I was able to login as admin and as a user, but I was not able to install profiles on devices (https://server/mydevices). Therefore I did reset Profile Manager following http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5349. But now when I try to use the configure button in Profile Manager in Server.app to set up device management, it wants to create an OD master or replica. This is not what should happen according to the knowledge base article. It should use the existing OD master and just ask for the organization etc. I have a clone of the server as it was configured at home and tried the same procedure on this server, but then everything goes as expected from the knowledge base article. Does anyone have an idea how to fix this on my new colocated server?
I do not want to destroy OD, as I am not sure how to preserve all local network users.
    Thanks for your help!

Open DTM and connect your BB via USB cable, then in desktop go to options and click on detect and look what it has there, if everything is ok go to main menu DTM and click on sync then on to config sync settings, make sure all is correct there, failing that in options you can check you setting in connections and PIN# are entered there.
When you accept a solution from anyone could you please select the appropriate box.

  • Firefox does not open, profile manager does not open, not listed in task manager

firefox worked fine about two days back. Our norton expired so I downloaded Kaspersky Anti-Virus 12.0.0.374. I don't know if that has any connection to firefox not working.
I click on the icon, nothing happens. The task is not mentioned in the task manager.
I try to run it in safe mode, nothing happens. I try to open the profile manager, nothing happens! What can I do to fix this?

Thank you fmdeveloper! I did some more research after I posted the question and it turns out Kaspersky was not the issue. I had done a system restore two days back and it says online that after a system restore, you have to uninstall and reinstall firefox. So I uninstalled it (kept my settings and data) and reinstalled it and voila, it works!
I did switch from Kaspersky to Avira too for Anti-vifus, don't know if that's a sane decision or not, but it's good to know that Kaspersky was not the culprit!

  • Profile Manager does not send emails VPP Invitation

    Hallo,
Thx
Sorry for my Bad English !!

    Hmm,
    here in English (with Translator)
    Hello,
Experiments for 2 days, the Profile Manager invitation e-mails sent to the user to then register for the VPP distribution.
Although Profile Manager displays "Successfully sent" But there is no email.
VPP token is installed, Apple Push Service for the profiles also expanded.
Unfortunately Apps pushing does not work due to lack of VPP invitation email.
In the log files I can find no fault.
    It is to despair.
    Thx

  • Firefox will not start up, there is no other instance running, and profile manager will not start either.

I try to start Firefox, but it just doesn't start. I have tried every way of starting it I can think of. Nothing that appears Firefox related shows up in the task manager process tab. I don't remember having any kind of crash. There is no error message. (If I click on a URL in an email or something, I get a "general failure" message -- I assume that's because my system is supposed to open FF and can't.)
I rebooted, and tried uninstalling and reinstalling. One of the help thingies suggested using profile manager to change my profile, but it looks like profile manager is part of Firefox, and it won't run.

Make sure that Firefox is completely closed, when you try to run the profile manager.
Can you try to get your crash report ID (without opening Firefox) using the instructions at https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Firefox+crashes+when+you+open+it#Getting_your_crash_report

  • Exchange under profile manager still not working

    Hi guys,
In Lion 10.7 Server, there was an issue where we have to fill in the user and domain for MS Exchange even under group profiles. I just upgraded to ML Server and it seems to be still unfixed.

I have not been able to access the exchange portlet as an external application. I have tried the various sugestions from
this forum but have still not succeded. It seems that the call
    to ../servlet/exchangeApp?ExchangeAction=performlogin has no
effect -- it is not performing a login. Instead, it generates a
    login page with blank parameters.
    >
After deleting the external application (Exchange Inbox) and adding it again will all of the parameters included, I still
have the same problem -- the servlet generates a login page with
blank parameters. Supplying the parameters to this new page and
submitting the form has no effect.
    >
The results of test.asp are "VALID".
Does anyone have any idea what may be going on here? We were hoping to go production in a few weeks with the exchange
    portlets working.
    >
Environment: Portal 3.0.9/W2K -> IIS/W2K -> Exchange 5.5/NT First, let me state that there are many implementations of the
exchange portlets that are working. Unfortunately, none of
those users are coming to this forum and talking about their
successes! That being said, we want to help you resolve your
issues and get the portlets implemented in your environment.
Typically, if the external application login is failing, it
means that one or more of the fields or values is incorrect.
I have seen an earlier posting indicating that once an external
application has been created, subsequent edits are not being
saved. While I have not seen that for myself, my first
suggestion to you is to create another external application
entry with the correct values and try logging into it again by
clicking on the application name in the Administer External
    Applications page.

  • Profile Manager not working at all, psql cannot connect to server??

Upgraded existing system to Mavericks. Everything was running fine with Mountain Lion, everything fine on my test server too. After upgrade to Server 3.0, Profile Manager does not work. It cannot be configured.
After reading through posts here and trying their suggestions I find that psql cannot connect to the server and get this error at every turn.
psql: could not connect to server: No such file or directory
Is the server running locally and accepting
connections on Unix domain socket "/Library/Server/ProfileManager/Config/var/PostgreSQL/.s.PGSQL.5432"?
Activity monitor shows it's running, also checked network utility to make sure I could get a connection through 127.0.0.1 on port 5432. It's good too.
Also in the migration_tool.log file the last entry backs up this error.
STDERR  | psql: could not connect to server: No such file or directory
                |           Is the server running locally and accepting
                |           connections on Unix domain socket "/Library/Server/ProfileManager/Config/var/PostgreSQL/.s.PGSQL.5432"?
Where do I start? I think getting psql working is a big first step....

    Thanks Tim,
I manage several different systems so I started comparing the one that doesn't work to one that does work.
On the one that's malfunctioning, this is a message I see often:
Is the server running locally and accepting
connections on Unix domain socket "/Library/Server/ProfileManager/Config/var/PostgreSQL/.s.PGSQL.5432"?
So I checked to see what's in the directory /Library/Server/ProfileManager/Config/var/PostgreSQL/ and got this result.
    sudo ls -la /Library/Server/ProfileManager/Config/var/PostgreSQL/
    total 0
    drwxr-xr-x  2 _devicemgr  _devicemgr   68 Dec  4 09:31 .
    drwxr-xr-x  3 _devicemgr  _devicemgr  102 Nov 13 06:13 ..
    An Obviously empty directory.
Now on the server that's working this is what I get.
    sudo ls -la /Library/Server/ProfileManager/Config/var/PostgreSQL/
    Password:
    total 16
    drwxr-xr-x  6 _devicemgr  _devicemgr  204 Nov 22 17:47 .
    drwxr-xr-x  8 _devicemgr  _devicemgr  272 Nov 22 17:48 ..
    srwxrwx---  1 _devicemgr  _devicemgr    0 Dec  4 09:20 .s.PGSQL.5432
    -rw-------  1 _devicemgr  _devicemgr  139 Dec  4 09:20 .s.PGSQL.5432.lock
    srw-rw-rw-  1 _devicemgr  _devicemgr    0 Nov 22 17:47 .xpg.skt
    lrwxr-xr-x  1 _devicemgr  _devicemgr    3 Nov 22 17:47 .xpg.skt.lock -> 164
Obviously something is missing on the one that's malfunctioning.
I think that pgsql isn't running correctly and like you said Apple moved some things and we don't know where all of them went.
    Any suggestions anybody?

  • Early on while configuring the Device Management settings in Profile Manager (Mavericks server) I received an error code -1

When I started up the Server application, Profile Manager was not selected as expected.  I selected it and started the first step of configuring Device Management in the Settings section.  I entered the organization information and went on to the next step which was to Configure an SSL Certificate
I selected a "Self Signed" Cert.  Which was the only one of the two choices that made sense.  The other being the, com.deploystudio.server - Self signed
Hit next and it processed the info and went to "Finish"  I click "Finish" and this is what I get when the setting are confirmed.
I stopped there since I suspect this error will probably come back to haunt me further down the line as if you recall we could not get the Profile to install due to the invalid cert which I suspect has something to do with this code -1 error at the get go.  I ran the one command line instruction twice to verify this was not a quirk and the same occurred.
    sudo /Applications/Server.app/Contents/ServerRoot/usr/share/devicemgr/backend/wipeDB.sh

Did you ever get this resolved? This error is usually related to DNS, hostname, or Open Directory configuration. Let me know if you still need help.

  • Unable to push user profiles to AD groups with Profile Manager since upgrade to Server v3

Since upgrading our OS X Mac server from 10.8.5 to 10.9.1, and OS X Server app to v3 (now 3.0.2) I have been unable to push or modify user profiles to AD groups (or AD users) using Profile Manager. This was working fine on OS X 10.8.5. Pushing device profiles is still working OK after the upgrade.
From what I can see from the logs on the client side and server side, it seems related to a problem with the mdm authtoken.
In the client console I can see this entry:
    27/01/14 14:30:15.844 mdmclient[38557]: *** ERROR *** [Agent:636102071] Unable to proceed with connection to: https://ourserver.ourdomain/devicemanagement/api/device/mdm_connect (com.apple.mdmconfig.mdm) because don't have valid MDM AuthToken

So I can see there is a failure to authenticate, but don't really know how to troubleshoot this further. Or maybe this is just a bug in the new server app?
I have tried to remove and re-enroll clients in Profile Manager but no joy there.
In the client's Keychain I can see an MDM user AuthToken linked to the correct user account.
Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions

I just wanted to update my post, as this issue for me is resolved.
I uninstalled and reinstalled the Server.app on our Mac server, since then I've been able to push profiles to AD Users and Groups. I guess that in my case the Server app got into a bit of a mess when it was upgraded to v3.
Now the next headache I have is that my AD Groups which are displayed in Profile Manager are not syncing any recent changes. I think I'm probably seeing the same issue as described in this post

  • Firefox won't start; no error message; profile manager also won't start. What can I do?

Suddenly, firefox won't start. I get no error message--it just won't open. System restore to a month before the problem did not help.
From the suggestions on this page: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Firefox%20will%20not%20start... I did not recently install add-ons or clean the registry, so I think it may be a profile problem. But profile manager will not open--only a tiny window with a white rectangle and no text.
I would like to not lose all my bookmarks. And I would like to continue using Firefox.
    What can I do?

dmcritchie, thank you for your reply!
Before I received your response, I tried something that seems to have worked. I used Chrome to go to the Firefox website and downloaded Firefox (without uninstalling it first) and went through the installation process again. For some reason, this worked, even though I already had the latest version of Firefox, and I can now open Firefox successfully.
If it stops working again, I will try your suggestion. In the meantime, thank you much!

  • Server 2.2 and AD Profile Manager issues

The Server 2.2 update lets you use AD users inside of AD groups (YAY!)  My problm is after the update the web interface in Profile Manager will not list groups or users anymore, it slows down to a crawl and errors out.  I also can't add "network users" to local groups in OD anymore.  Is this a permissions error or is it just overloading my new mac mini server?
We and a few hundred users and in logs I can see the users importing from AD and it is peaking out the CPU resources on the mini.
    any ideas?

  • I cannot launch Firefox (suddenly) nor can I open Profile Manager, what next?

Windows 7, 64 bit. Experienced some Windows updates but I restored to prior to the updates and still cannot open Firefox. Can open Safari and IE.

There is a problem fairly soon in the process if profile manager will not start.
You could try in Firefox's [[safe-mode]] next you could try in Windows safemode by using the F8 key.
