"Profile Missing" on startup, cannot initiate terminal level "Profile Manager"

I have downloaded Firefox from the internet today (10/7/2011), presumably Ver 7, but I cannot identify the version because it won't open. When I open it, I get a message, "Profile Missing: You firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible." This was an upgrade from a prior version that worked, so I decided to use AppDelete to remove all traces of Firefox from the machine and to a reinstall using this latest software.
I have deleted the application using AppDelete, and reinstalled a fresh current download, I have rebooted the MacMini, all to no avail. The message continues. When I go to the FAQ section on this website, it advises that I use terminal to start the profile manager. When I do this, I get the same message. which I see when I try to start the program.

Do you have the Firefox icon on your quick launch? Right click
on it, and select '''Open New Window.''' Sometimes this works.
If it opens, close it by '''Menu > File > Exit.'''
This is not a cure but will make it easier if Firefox locks up in Windows.

  • Firefox already running, profile missing or inaccessible, cannot kill in task manager

For reference, this is on windows 8
In the past I've (very rarely) had the "firefox is already running" error and was able to fix it by ending the process in task manager. I updated to firefox 36 the other day. Since then, firefox will run perfectly normally for a while, but after some time (varies from minutes to hours) I can no longer load new pages. The loading wheel just keeps spinning.
Once this has happened, if I quit firefox and try to open it again, it will give me "firefox already running" followed by "profile missing or inaccessible" error messages. If I go to task manager, sometimes no firefox.exe is there, sometimes it is and I cannot close it. In either case I still can't start the program.
I tried reinstalling firefox, which did not fix the issue. I've also tried creating a new profile, again to no avail. AVG picks up no malware. I did a system restore to a week ago, which seemed to work for a while, but the problem has started again. I'm looking for a solution other than installing an old version, if possible.

  • Acrobat Reader X freeze and cannot be terminated

since a few days now, i have 3 users who has issue with Adobe Reader X (10.1.3.23). when they open a PDF, adobe freeze and cannot be terminated via task manager.
here is the error in the event viewer:
Hanging application AcroRd32.exe, version 10.1.3.23, hang module hungapp, version 0.0.0.0, hang address 0x00000000
The strange thing is that when i do a right click on the PDF from the task manager and select 'go to process...' it take me to the SCRSS.EXE and not the AcroRd32.exe
To remidy on this issue, a reboot is required since i cannot terminate CSRSS. Adobe seems to work for a while... but so far, it come back the next day.
I also checked if the SCRSS is not a virus and passed the MD5.
I tried to uninstall/reinstall but the issue persist.

    Hi,
Can you try and delete all the files and folders present in your Reader installation directory (by default its C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 10.0). Now try and repair the installation from within the Control Panel.
    For Windows XP: Add/Remove Programs
For Win 7: Programs and Features
Does this solve the issue? If not, could you let me know the following information:
    1. Is the process name actually: csrss.exe?
    2. The OS you are working on?
    3. If you are working on Win 7, then could you please get me the location of the process csrss.exe.
You can do the same by chosing to view the column "Command Line" from Task Manager (View > Select Columns)
    Thanks

  • E71 cannot choose which sip profile to use VoIP

I created several sip voip profiles, one for domestic call, another for international call. The problem is, when I dial a number and click on internet call, E71 will persistently use a certain profile merely. I cannot decide which sip profile to use.
Could you please give me some advice? Thx!

    Thanks Carlo for your reply.
I have read again the link and you are correct that in using the preferred command together with localhost under POTS dial-peer, I can now select which correct path to choose for my outbound calls. I'm just not very strong with dial-peer and translation rules at the moment.
I will try this solution during the weekend and let you know. But it would have been better if there was a sample configuration for this option.

  • OIM: Terminal Services Profile Path

    Hi,
I am using OIM and AD with the OOTB AD connector.
I have made a pre-populate adapter that generates a Terminal Services Profile Path for a user. I would like the path to be added to users when they are created.
I have added an entry in the the AD User Form, pre-populate tab. Field name: Terminal Profile Path. Adapter: My generate Terminal Services Profile Path adapter.
Unfortunately, the Terminal Profile Path field is not pre-populated in the process form.
I have also tried to add a process task triggered by the create user task, and made my adapter a Process Task Adapter. This did not work either.
Just to test it, since there is no column for Terminal Services in the usr table, I created a Terminal Services Profile Path UDF. When I fill in the path in the UDF manually, the Terminal Profile Path field is not pre-populated in the process form.
I have made pre-populate adapters for other UDFs and had no troubles with that. Does anyone know if there is something special about this Terminal Services Profile Path field?
    Thanks!!

    Thanks Rajiv,
When I use a process task, the task is invoked, and I get:
    Status: Rejected
    Response: 62: Unknown response received.
But I thought I didn't really need to use a process task, and that it would be sufficient with a pre-populate adapter mapped to the right field. But it seems like I'm not using the field in the correct way...?
    Thanks!

  • OS X SERVER "Profile Missing Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible."

We have an OS X 10.6.8 SL server managing our iMacs. Since the update of the workstations to at least 10.6.8 and Firefox 34.0.5, we get the error: [Profile Missing Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible.] upon launch of Firefox. It appears to be an issue that the profile is stored on the server rather than on the local hard drive. There is no way whatsoever to access, configure, start, or any other way manage Firefox at this point. Need a solution to this problem as we have hundreds of users that are unable to use Firefox now.

    See:
This is usually caused by a problem with the profiles.ini file and the profile marked as Default=1 in this file is no longer present on the hard drive.
    *Windows: %AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox\<br>C:\Users\&lt;user&gt;\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\&lt;profile&gt;\
    *Linux: ~/.mozilla/firefox/
    *Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/
In Mac OS X v10.7 and later, the ~/Library folder is a hidden folder.
You can use one of these to make Firefox create/use a new default profile:
*Delete the profiles.ini file to force Firefox to create a new default profile
*Use the Profile Manager to create a new profile
*Use "Choose Folder" when you create a new profile to select the location of a lost profile and recover this profile

  • I cannot open Firefox at all... receive "Profile Missing" -- what next?

MAC desktop being used. When I click on my Firefox app it looks and looks then brings up a window: Profile Missing.
Obviously, I cannot do much without opening Firefox.
    What do I do next?

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

  • I can't load firefox because it says "Profile Missing- Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible." Can't delete either. Help?

I have a Mac and I can't open firefox because it says "Profile Missing-Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible." Then I tried to delete it by moving it to trash and it says it cannot be moved to the trash.

Create a new profile to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
    See "Creating a profile":
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Profile_issues
If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from an existing profile to the new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

Following the most recent FireFox Update I can no longer open or use the FireFox browser. I reinstalled a new version and still get the same Profile Missing Alert.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

  • Firefox will not open after fresh install in OSX Lion. "Firefox profile missing."

After recently upgrading OS X Snow leopard to OS X 10.7 Lion I downloaded and ran the Firefox installer package, only to find that Firefox could not open. The error message says "Profile missing – Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible"
I checked Firefox forums and found a script that when run in Terminal allows access to the (upper) Library folder; but this still does not solve the issue.
Obviously, with Lion Apple has deliberately placed a stumbling block in the way of would-be Firefox users.

Thank you. I solved the dilemma, which was one of my own making although I take no blame for it. You see, a while back I grew tired of going through the semantics of manually deleting Caches and Cookies and simply locked those folders (in Users/my name/Library) so that nothing could be added or removed from them without login credentials.
. . . There's where the fly got into the ointment. The Caches folder must be unlocked in order to run Firefox because it uses Caches to store files. Folder unlocked – problem solved.
It seems that OS X Lion has more warts than its predecessors (initially, at least), in that where Apple once gave the user full egress to all venues, it has developed a hard-nosed, up-in-your-face micro-managerial stance with Lion – such as making the System/Library invisible. This, of course, under the tacit label of "offering the user greater security" . . . against himself.
If you fully embrace that logic I've got some s. Florida realty I can dump I mean sell you on the cheap, lol.
    I appreciate your kind help.
    Thanks.

  • Firefox 4 b7 gives a Profile Missing error when launching

Firefox worked before on my OS X (10.6.5) system, but now gives a Profile Missing error that says "Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible." I can't launch the Profile Manager using the Terminal command. I tried putting a clean install of Firefox 3.6.12 on, but the process closes as soon as it opens without any dialogs. No icon pops up on the dock.

Zensa posted a very useful command and it works well to solve this problem ...
    http://support.mozilla.com/my/questions/785562
Give it a try and it helps ... although your mac will ask for your admin password ... that made me scare a little.
Firefox 4 works fine now on my MacBook pro with OS X 10.6.7

  • Field explorer does not open on my terminal services profile

    Dear Sirs,
For some reason I am unable to open my field explorer in any crystal report on my terminal services profile. I have checked with other profiles and the problem does not exist. The problem is specific to my profile. I can also create new reports and access fields however if I use the filed explorer button I cannot access fields, parameters or formulas from there. Problem just started this morning. We have been using crystal reports X1 for last 12 months. Would it be a terminal server issue?
I would appreciate whatever help you can give me.

    Hi Philip
This can be an issue with the terminal server that you are using. Please refer to the Crystal Reports XI supported platforms guide if the server that you are using is supported or not.
You can download the guide from the below link:

  • Colour sync profiles missing

Ive had a lot of colour problems lately, mainly when importing from photoshop to quark express - the colours go very strange - the magenta especially is simply way too high.
When checking colour profiles, i constantly get this message:
    Searching for profiles...
    Checking 263 profiles...
    /Library/ColorSync/Profiles/150-Line (Pantone)
Tag 'gamt': Number of input channels is not correct. Could not be fixed.
Tag 'gamt': Number of output channels is not correct. Could not be fixed.
    /Library/ColorSync/Profiles/HEXNSID2.icm
Tag 'A2B0': Required tag is not present. Could not be fixed.
Tag 'gamt': Required tag is not present. Could not be fixed.
Repair done - 0 out of 2 profiles fixed.
This is after permission repairs etc, and comes up each time i try to 'fix' profiles. Anything that can be done about missing colour profiles etc?

HP is fond of pointing the finger at Adobe, and in fairness their drivers often don't work well with InDesign (HP printers account for the largest number of printer related problems on the forum by far, and I don't think it's just due to market share), but installing color profiles has NOTHING to do with any Adobe software. If the profiles were being installed properly by the HP installer, they's be in the system someplace (probably the colorsynch folder) and they'd be available to other programs even if Adobe apps didn't find them.
If the HP low-level tech feeds you that "it's an Adobe problem" BS again, immediately ask to be escalated to someone who knows what they are talking about, and take names.

Pictures would help. A good way to do this is to post them to a free photo sharing site like Flickr and then post a link.
Also, you are in the original MBP section, and I think you need to post your question in the newer MBP section:
