Profile picture and avator

Can I import an outside picture into my profile picture AND avator? I tried dragging a picture off the desktop into the picture but it didn't take. Also, can I use another picture and change my avator? Any ideas?

You can choose a different avatar once you reach a certain level (I believe it is 500 points, but I may be wrong there). Once you reach that, there will be a spot for you to add a custom avatar. AFAIK, you should be able to add a picture (NOT avatar) in the space for a picture.

Profile picture and status bar don't appear in Game Center

I first signed up for Game Center when it was released in the days of iOS 4. I used my iPod Touch 2nd gen. There was no status bar or profile picture, but I didn't realize because I was new. I later changed to an iPhone 3GS when iOS 5 was released, and the iPhone was restored to the backup of my iPod Touch. After my iPhone was fully functioning, I retired my iPod Touch. I noticed then that I was missing the profile picture and status bar because my Game Center friends had them. In December 2011, I bought myself an iPad 2 Wi-Fi. Still, no profile picture or status bar. I am confused, because my iPhone and iPad are running the latest version of iOS, 5.1.1. I have done plenty of troubleshooting, with no answer. Please help me.

Yeah, my internet is on and working too. I have been looking in to this issue- I have emailed Apple to make them aware. It seems like it is affected most, if not ALL tbe Game Centers on 2nd Gen and from what else I've heard, 3rd gen devices too. Whether this is intentional I don't know- it seems odd that everyone has suddenly been disconnected from their games tab on Game Center older devices, so perhaps it is a ploy by Apple to ensure more people switch to a newer device? We'll see. For now, I would recommend you follow the posts I've put up previously too. See my profile for my contributions.

Hi I have installed facebook app. After upgradation to 8.1 is few weeks later facebook app unable to show profile pictures. Tried reinstallation many times. Is there any problem with8.1 update ? i am facing so many issues.

Hi, disouza. Are you still encountering the same issue with your Facebook app? If so, have you tried uninstalling and then reinstalling it? Does it happen regardless of the internet connection you're using? Make sure that your connection is stable by accessing several websites via the IE app on your phone or using other web-based apps. You can also try visiting your Facebook account via your phone's browser to see if the profile picture and photos are working fine.
BTW, this issue started after installing the official Lumia Cyan to your phone, is that right? Did you also update your system apps? To check for pending updates, go to Store> ...> downloads.
In case you are no longer having the said issue, would you mind sharing how you fixed it for the benefit of other users who may experience the same?

I am sorry but your question is not completely clear. What Apple product are you having problems with?

With Facebook on display, click on the site identity button (for details on what that is see the [[site identity button]] article) and then on More Information. This will open up the page info dialog.
First select the Permissions panel, make sure that "Load Images" is set to allow (selecting Use Default should also work)
Next select the Media panel, then click on the first item in the list. Use the down arrow key to scroll through the list. If any item has the option "Block images from (domain name)" selected, de-select the option.
This should hopefully resolve your issue, but also see [[Images or animations do not show]].
Some add-ons can also block images, for example if you have AdBlock Plus installed, make sure that you have not accidentally created a filter to block the images.

Spotify name and profile picture not showing publicly

I have linked my Facebook account to a new Spotify account that I made after my old one was compromised. I have since recovered my compromised account via support. My facebook account was disconnected by whoever hijacked the account. I signed up for premium on this new account and intend to continue using it. After syncing with facebook on this new account and adding contacts, my profile picture and name show correctly on the desktop client and phone but my public profile does not show either my name or picture. Is there anything I can do to remedy this problem or do I have to wait for the servers to update? Thanks. Edit: old spotify username was John007H the new one is John007H2 (this account).

Also be patient. It can take several days, before the uploaded image is approved, and shows. My two red wine glasses image took about 7-10 days, and this one about 5.
IIRC, in my profile, I had "(pending)" showing during that time.

I can't change my Game Center profile picture in iOS 7

I was going in to my new Game Center after I updated to iOS 7, and I was looking around on how to create a profile picture and saw that where the option is supposed to be on my Game Center "Me" page is blank. Please help, I've seen other people who are able to do it. Please help soon, or Apple, if it's a bug, please fix it. Thank you.

I suppose you are french like me, so basically, switch your system to english in Settings, configure Game Center, and switch your system back to French.

Artist profile picture gone in music app, how to get it back?

Hi Guys,
I got an Iphone 5s 16gb space grey recently and i restored from backup after updating it from 7.1 to 7.1.2.
I noticed that from my backup before and my old phone before my 5s (4s) that in the artists view in the Music app, there were artists profile picture which im presuming are their pictures from itunes. So that's what's showing on the artists view instead of the usual album covers from the artists music. If apple didnt have a "profile picture" for a certain artist then they would just show normal album covers from that artists which is also fine.
However, after I updated and set up as new iphone (then restore from backup), the "profile pictures' from Apple are gone and the artist views are just showing album covers from the different albums that the artist have. Does that make sense? I actually quite like the Apple artist profile picture and would like for them to show up again, instead of the normal album covers. Hopefully that makes sense and any help or advice will be appreciated.

Profile picture limited to 96x96 pixels

Dear Skype Moderators,
Do you know if there is anyway to store a profile picture with more than 96x96 pixels? Or, if that is not possible, is there anyway to avoid Skype from upscaling the picture?
After multiple attempts, the best result I had was after I uploaded the picture from the OS X client:
- in the same computer, the profile picture looks okay but not sharp, upscaled to 216x216 pixels
- in a friend's OS X computer, the picture looks the same way as in my computer
- in Windows 7, the picture is displayed with 96x96 pixels with a big white margin to fill 220x220 pixels
- in an iPad, the picture is upscaled to 256x256 pixels and looks blurry
- opening the Skype profile over the web, the picture is upscaled to 240x240 pixels and looks even worse
The original picture was 600x600 pixels at 300dpi. Uploading from Windows made the picture look even worse.
The frustrating thing is that some of my contacts have really sharp pictures on the Mac OS.

Today I changed my profile picture and, after more attempts, I found out that the best way to upload the picture is using the iPad client. I uploaded a 600x600 pixels JPEG at 300dpi, and it looks sharp in the iPad and in both the OS X and Windows 7 clients. The picture looks nice even when I open the Skype profile over the web.

*A way to see which images are blocked is to click the favicon ([[Site Identity Button]]) on the left end of the location bar.
*A click on the "More Information" button will open the Security tab of the "Page Info" window (also accessible via "Tools > Page Info").
*Go to the <i>Media</i> tab of the "Tools > Page Info" window.
*Select the first image link and scroll down though the list with the Down arrow key.
*If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "<i>Block Images from...</i>" then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.
It is possible that you clicked "Block Images" in the right click context menu while trying to save an image.

Skype for Android doesn't update the profile picture of my contacts and not sync the status update either.
I want to see the profile picture and status updates of my friends.

How to retrive profile picture with DotNetOpenAuth

Hi,
I'm using VS 2013 and DotNetOpenAuth to authenticate users with facebook and I would like to retrive the profile picture of the user, so I can show the picture of the logged in user in my site.
I know that I can send extra data to facebook with the method "AddFacebook" and I also have the option to replace the method "requestauthentication" by the "createrequest" to have more control of this part, but I couldn't find
a way to request the profile picture - and I'm not sure if the login request is the best moment for this request.

No profile picture for anyone on my fb

on my bb curve 9300 I have NO profile pictures and can not view albums etc . All I have is a blue and white sillouette that on the odd one has a jagged white line thru it. if I click on the picture it says "failed to download the requested image". have uninstalled,reinstalled,taken the battery out, logged out,logged in and NOTHING!!! I have read thought he other thread again. No one has reported back that they have raised the issue with their carrier, just that they would do. They may have solved it but who knows.
So it would be useful to get feedback from someone who has spoken with their carrier and had it solved at that level, or had the carrier raise it with RIM. If everyone who has the issue does that, the answer may well be forthcoming.

I know! Its so frustrating. I just wanna put a picture of big boss smoking his infamous cigar but every time I try it just doesn't work. On my phone I go through the whole process of selecting the picture and clicking okay but nothing changes. And it doesn't even say "change profile picture" it says "add profile picture" and so I though maybe I have to go on my ps4 for the rest but I go to change my profile picture and it gives me the 3 options to load one from facebook, PlayStation app, or use the avatar and I figured maybe I added the picture and now I have to select it on the ps4 but il click X on the playstation app option and the little circle dot doesn't change to the playstation app. It just stays on the avatar option.

You can also try to reset all Skype settings.
Quit Skype or use Windows Task Manager to kill any Skype.exe process. Go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %appdata% and then press Enter or click the OK button. The Windows File Explorer will pop up. There locate a folder named “Skype”. Rename this folder to something different, e.g. Skype_old. Restart Skype.
N.B. If needed, you will still be able to re-establish your call and chat history. All data is still saved in the Skype_old folder.
