Profile problems for wifi settings
We are testing the iPhone at our orginization. One of my co-workers has created a profile for vpn/wifi and sent it to several of us.
The problem exists on the phone I am using, while there is no username in the username field for wifi, I am unable to enter one and only prompted for a password. Other users are being prompted for both.
I have deleted the profile and reinstalled. I have reinstalled over the old profile. Still I am not prompted for, nor allowed to enter a username.
Has anyone else eperienced similar issues? Does anyone know of a fix?
the configuration files are just text files - edit it in a text editor and remove the username and password parts completely (including the tags) it should then prompt you for a username and password when you install the profile.

The iPhone warranty, unlike the worldwide warranty for other Apple products, is limited to the country that originally sold the phone.

Color management / profile problems for HP Designjet 5500PS UV
Hi -
I'm having trouble finding the printing ICC profile that I added for a HP Designjet 5500PS UV (using HP Everyday Pigment Satin Photo Paper). I downloaded the profile from HP and right-click installed it on my desktop (Win7). My problem is that LR can't seem to find it in the print module. I click 'other' but nothing shows on the list. I can find the profile in Photoshop though, so I know that Windows is ok with it.
Any ideas?I'm thinking that is might be a CMYK profile that I'm trying to use. How can I find out for sure?

I have a 13.5 month old Ipad2, wifi only that has had problems with wifi com from the beginning. I am learning that this is not unusual for apple. Any suggestions?

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app
• Tap on Wi-Fi
• Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Had problems with my broadband going down at weekend, since it came back on unable to join wifi BT say it is because my wifi settings are missing on my iPad can anyone tell me where to find seething details IP address etc

Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

New router - how to change wifi settings for Photosmart B109n
I got a new router. How do I change the wifi settings for my Photosmart B109n? I changed the PC wifi settings (no problem). I connected the PC (Windows 7) to the printer by USB cable. In the HP Solutions Centre, when I click on Settings / Network Settings, it tries to open a browser (IE9) page, with the URL being the IP address (192.168.2.3), but it goes to the "cannot display" page. Do I need the HP software CD? (I think I've lost it.) The manual explains how to set up (using the CD), but I can't find how to change settings for a new router.

G580 WIFI Problem ONLY at school (redirected website for wifi password)
Hi all,
I recently purchased a lenovo G580 laptop; windows 8
My laptop wifi works perfectly when I am at home or connected to any normal wifi.
It does not work when I am at school which typically once you connect to the school's wifi, it opens up a web broweser asking for your usename and password to get compelte access. (figure 1- from my other laptop)
My lenovo laptop cannot download this website, therefore I have no internet access at school since I cannot put my information inside. (figure 2- from lenovo laptop)
The problem is not my school's router because I have wifi connection on my other laptop here without any problems. Also the problem is not really the location/wifi of my lenova laptop because I can connect to my phone's personal hotspot when I am at school.
Simply, the problem is found when I cannot connect to my school's wifi because it requires me to download a site to put my information.
I have read other forums and try to figure it myself, however, I am very noobie when it comes to computers. So I appreciate a step-by-step instructions. For example, please provide links that I may need to download to update my driver.
I have called customer care, and I am not going to pay 100 bucks just to fix a simple problem. So i appreciate your time.check whether you have set up your wifi settings correctly.(i mean 'servers' and login credentials ).

Problem with my program looking for the settings file in the wrong folder
I have been writing a simple FTP file uploader, what I want to do is be able to select the files I want to upload in windows explorer and then right click and click the menu item and it launches the program and passes the files paths that I have selected to it.
So I use this in the windows registry "C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_03\bin\java.exe -jar D:\BenFTP\BenFTP.jar %1"
It launches fine and has no problem finding the files I want to upload. The problem is that it tries to look for the settings file in the same folder that the file I am try to upload is in. Which it's not suppose to do since the settings file is in the same folder that the .jar is in.

There's no way to set the CWD in your registry entry (is there?) so that isn't a practical thing to do. Presumably you're using a File object or a FileReader or something? Can't do that.
One alternative is to look for the settings file in the classpath. You can get a URL to a file in the classpath like this:URL settings = this.getClass().getResource("/settings.xml");Or you can get an InputStream to read the file by using the getResourceAsStream method. You would have to make sure that your executable jar file contained a Class-Path entry that specified the right directory, because the directory the jar is contained in isn't automatically in an executable jar's classpath.
Another alternative is to ask the user where the settings file is supposed to be, and put an entry in the Preferences (java.util.prefs) to remember that location. -
i have problem with my wifi in 4 S, i cant connect to any wifi itried resetting network setting and reset all setting but the result was the same, its only keeps searching for wifi and cant find any, itried to use OTHER but also didnt work.please help me???
If Join was on then your home wi-fi must be set to Non-Broadcast. If you did not set this up (maybe your provider did) then you will need to find the Network Name they used, and any password they used. The SSID is Security Set ID and to see more try http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SSID . Basically it is the name used to identify your router/network. A lot of times the installer will leave it set as LinkSys, or Broadcom or whatever the manufacturer set it as for default. Your best bet is to get whoever installed it to walk you through how they set it up, giving you id's and passwords so you can get in. HOWEVER, if you are not comfortable with this (if you set security wrong, etc.) you would be well ahead of the game to hire a local computer tech (networking) to get this working for you. You can also contact the vendor of your router and get help (if it is still in warranty), or at least get copies of the manuals as pdf files. Sorry I can't give you more help, I hope this gives you an idea where to go from here to find more.

Symptoms
After installing the Mac OS X 10.4.9 Update, iTunes may be unable to properly authorize your computer to play your iTunes Store purchases.
Resolution
The following steps will delete your network preferences. Most broadband connections do not require any special settings to connect, but if your connection does or if you are not sure, please contact your ISP or network administrator for further assistance.
Important: You must be logged in as an Administrator.
Click the Finder icon in the Dock.
Choose Go to Folder from the Go menu.
Type /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration
Click Go.
In the Finder window, locate the file named NetworkInterfaces.plist.
Drag this file to the Trash.
Restart the computer.
Once your computer has restarted. You will not be able to connect to the Internet. Now you will need to refresh your network settings to be able to connect again.
Choose System Preferences from the Apple menu.
Choose Network from the View menu.
To refresh your network settings, from the Location pop-up menu, choose New Location.
Type a name for your location and click OK.
Click the Apply Now at the bottom right to accept the changes.
If your network connection requires any special settings, you will need to put them back in at this point. Once you have made these changes you should be able to connect to the Internet again and authorize your computer to play your iTunes Store purchases. -

IndiaYou are not addressing Apple here. If you have a problem, describe it and someone might be able to help. Just to be sure, the wi-fi on the phone will go off after the phone goes into sleep mode unless it is actively being used. This is a battery saving measure. If you are actively using the internet, and the phone is still awake, then the wi-fi should remain connected.
What troubleshooting steps have you tried. -
With 7.1 "Share WiFi Settings" no longer works for A3 Pioneer Speaker setup
I am nolonger able to link my Pioneer A3 Speaker with my WiFi network by plugging it into my iPhone or iPad, no message asking "Share the WiFi Settings". I have used various cables, re-booted WiFi and devices etc so conclude either my A3 has suddenly broken, or the 7.1 updates messed things up.

I have a problem, my wife has an ipad with photos , emails etc etc, she has recently got herself a new iPad Air, has now been using that for two or more months, more photos (new) more emails and other stuff. What she wants to do is get all she wants from ipad 1 to new ipad without finishing up with 2 of everything which happen on previous occasion. I realise that she needs to tidy up ipad 1 first and get rid of thousands of emails etc. I need help.

Sounds like you are not able to connect to a Wi-Fi network with your iPad. This article has a section for Unable to connect to a Wi-Fi network and the second article is the recommended network settings. If after these it still has the same issue you may want to restore the device to factory settings.
