Profile stuck again...

Ok..the electric blinked a couple of times this morning in the torrential rain...profile stuck again..I'm fed up to the teeth with this s**t...
CraigS (one of the mods) emailed me yesterday to inform me that my profile was being "rebuilt" (whatever that means)...everytime I even have the slightest resync my profile is stuck on the banded 2000kps and has to be manually reset...
Download speedachieved during the test was - 1845 Kbps
 For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 400-2000 Kbps.
 Additional Information:
 Your DSL Connection Rate :4640 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
 IP Profile for your line is - 2000 Kbps
It's giving thunder for Thursday so, no doubt it will be another disaster...can I have it reset please?
BTW...why is DLM CONSISTENTLY failing?

Thanks for the answer Craig...I have had a long term problem with REN...after spending much time on this forum debating it with a certain RogerB, we decided it was caused by an ovehead mains  11kv line which supplies a steel manufacturing business...this line (switches ?) at times and the hum from from it interferes with my broadband..
Like this Daily...[IMG]http://i858.photobucket.com/albums/ab141/dolmenman/Rx_Noise_margin_dB-2010Apr30-1533.jpg[/IMG]
Unfortunately, I'm not rich enough to take on the power company (or the structural steel works) so when my noise margin (ineveitably) rises to 15+dB I forcibly reduce it with a telnet cmd using the routers broadcom chip...
Normally by balancing the two (with a 8dB over head on a 53dB loop lose line) I can maintain a 4500kps+ sync for weeks..
If, on accasion, have have a powersupply issue, or a thunderstorm, I can usually "twiddle" with things and be back to a 3-4 meg connection in 12-36hrs
Unforunatelly, I no longer seem to be able to do this as ANY disconnect IMMEDIATELY puts me on the 2 meg banded profile...
PS..we need RogerB back on the case

  • BRAS profile stuck AGAIN =(

    Very close to my exchange and regulary get near full 8Mbps from a very stable connection.
    Looks like this weekend has seen my bRAS profile stuck AGAIN! =(
    Speedtest results
    Now the last time, took an age for the first line of BT tech "help" - so I thought I'd see if there was a less stressful way to get it fixed.
    Any suggestions from the community?

    profile will only change if you have problems with connection and connection drops.  the reason for the 3+ days connection is to ensure that line is now stable to avoid the same thing happening next again day and the automatic system should correct the profile in that timescale.  normally if you drop connection and connects back at lower speed profile will drop almost immediately to correct value for current speed but when speed reverts back to 'normal' the profile on adslmax 20CN can take 3/5 days to increase.
    the mods are the certain way to get profile fixed but you can try others

  • I.P Profile stuck again at 2Mbps

    Good afternoon,
    I have had this issue before (earlier this year) where my I.P profile seems to be throttled to 2Mbps. I am used to seeing speeds of at least 6-7 Mbps. I have done the BT Wholesale test as instructed and confirms that I should be operating at 8 Mbps but being restricted to 2 Mbps.
    Could some one please reset it for me?
    I will upload a screenshot of the wholesale test.

  • Hand Cursor stuck again

    I thought my problem was solved, however, the hand cursor is stuck again when I go to Kohl's Website and try to order anything. When I click on "add to bag" that is when the cursor won't move.

  • Dear all, I have a MacBook Pro bought in April 2011. Last April, it got stuck while the wheel was spinning and I had to force it shut. That cost me my hard drive. Now, it's stuck again. I tried esc, cmd tab, moving the trackpad on the apple, but no. HELP!

    Dear all, I have a MacBook Pro bought in April 2011. Last April, it got stuck while the wheel was spinning and I had to force it shut. That cost me my hard drive. Now, it's stuck again. I tried esc, cmd+tab, moving the trackpad on the apple, but no. HELP!

    Dear John,
    thank you for your prompt reply. After I sent the email, I left the wheel spinning to see if it would eventually stop. It didn't, but after a while the screen turned blue, so I decided to switch everything off with a forced shut-down. I could not restart with the OS DVDs because I am currently away from home, but fortunately everything was more or less fine after restarting. It then got stuck again, I forced it shut again, restarted again, and now it seem to work but I won't overdo it and will switch off smoothly after writing this (unless it gets stuck again). Last April I have replaced the HD, so it's now just under 6 months old. And, of course, since the crash occurred when I was abroad and had backed up just before I left, I have lost only a few days' work. Still, and I know this will make me hugely unpopular here, with my 5 previous laptops running on MS Windows I never had a problem. Which does not mean I loved the OS, or I would not have switched to Mac.
    Anyway, and this is the main reason for this message, thank you very much again for your speedy intervention.

  • Payload variables not working & Profiles stuck on 'Sending'

    Hi all,
    I've been trying to use Profile Manager to specify user e-mail accounts on Mac devices (eg, MacBooks) but I've been encountering a couple of problems. I've tried searching around and didn't find any answers.
    First of all I'm running the latest Mountain Lion Sever. All clients have up-to-date Mountain Lion too.
    Problem 1: Payload variables not working
    I'd like to automatically setup Gmails on the MacBooks. Now the users' email addresses are already set to their gmail accounts. So all I have to be able to do is use the %email% payload variable as the username when I go set up the (IMAP) mail accounts in the Profile Manager. However, when I download the profile to the device, it does not convert the payload variable; ie, it tries to log into gmail with the username '%email%'. Other payload variables do not work either.
    Oddly enough, the payload variables work as they should with iOS devices...
    Problem 2: Profiles stuck on 'Sending'
    After enrolling the devices, it seems a hit and miss whether the MacBook downloads the correct profiles from the server... Is there a way to force on the MacBook to update/refresh its profiles? Also, when I update profiles within Profile Manager, the changes are pushed to iOS devices fine but not to MacBooks. Those tasks are all stuck on Sending... Logging in, restarting etc. sometimes helps but not always... Is there a reason why?
    Thanks in advance.

    Same problem here. Some profiles are being sent, some are stuck on the server. I have no idea why this difference.
    Any luck solving the issue?

  • I am stuck again, really tried hard, to no avail

    Dear applescript genius,
    I have had help, came a long way, but got stuck again.
    I am still facing a lot of problems, but this one is now top 1 prio for me.
    I am trying to automate creating a new event in facebook.
    When you click Create Event on your facebook page, a new form pops up where you can fill in data of the event you want to create.
    I am trying to build an applescript to automate this proces.
    I have learned from this forum how to find the pointers to the form elements.
    I can use the following code to fill in a form element :
      tell Details_Pointer
      set focused of Details_Pointer to true
      delay delay_time
      keystroke "a" using command down
      keystroke "Details of the event"
      delay delay_time
      keystroke (ASCII character (9))
      end tell
    Where Details_Pointer is the UI Element of the form element "Details"
    But this code is not robuust and needs delays between filling in the diferent elements.
    So, i have been trying this code:
      tell process Details_Pointer
      activate
                                  set value of Details_Pointer to "Details of this event"
      end tell
    But when you use this code to fill in the elements of the form and then you click Create on the form, non of the data filled in on the form is takn over!.
    Could some please show what to do to fil in the form elements so that the information is actually "taken over" in the form?
    Ths is the code i use.
    LocateElementsTFTA() is to locate the UI Elements
    find_new_event_pointers() is to extract the UI Elements of the form.
    And then the last lines of code
    tell application "Safari"
      activate
      tell application "System Events"
      keystroke "Title of this event"
      end tell
    end tell
    Is used to fill in the form elements.
    What happens s that when yu run this code the form elements seem te have taken over the data. However when you click on create non of the info is "taken over" (except for the first element where the Keystroke command is used)
    Can someone please help me to make a next step in this code?
    Thanks

  • If Control Structure--  I'm stuck again!

    Woe is me.. stuck again. Below is a snippit of my code. The two middle "if's" won't compile properly because apparently there is/are ")" missing. No matter where I put the missing ")" it still won't work. Obviously I am not writing this out correctly but can't find anything to tell me how to go about joining up > "AND" = . Can anyone help?

    if(area <10) //Areal is less than 10.
         System.out.println("This is a tiny area");
    if(area 10>=30) //Areal is between 10 & 30 inclusive.
         System.out.println("This is a small area");
    if(area 30>=100) // Area is between 30 & 100 inclusive.
         System.out.println("This is a large area");
    if(area >30) //Area is greater than 100.
         System.out.println("This is a huge area");
    ==================================================

    More food....
    check this out:
    if(area < 10) { // area is less than 10.
    System.out.println("This is a tiny area");
    else { // area is greater than 9
    if(area <= 30) {
    System.out.println("This is a small area");
    else { // area is greater than 30
    if(area <= 100) {
    System.out.println("This is a large area");
    else { // area is greater than 100
    System.out.println("This is a huge area");
    Take care when creating such constructs.
    Note: Your tests on the value range of area are exclusive, meaning only one of the tests ("if statements" can be true in the above example). But sometimes you'll need to make tests on overlapping ranges. The question then arises if the you want to proceed after a first sucessful test:
    if(area > 5) {
    System.out.println("Area is greater than 5.");
    if(area > 10) {
    System.out.println("Area is greater than 10.");
    if area was 20 in the example, both test would be successful. Now what if you would change the value of "area" depending on the test?
    if(area > 5) // test 1 {
    System.out.println("Area is greater than 5.");
    area = area + 7;
    if(area > 10) // test 2 {
    System.out.println("Area is greater than 10.");
    Now, if area originally had a value of 6, test 1 would be sucessful, test 2 would not - if you hadn't modified area's value in test 1.
    Therefore, always think about what exactly you want to test, and how you want to treat a sequence of tests. You can use either "else" branches to achieve this or use the "break" statement.
    TIP: Sketch a reverse tree on a paper:
    O
    O O
    O O O O
    Now, each "O" is actually a test. Each "\" is the stuff you do when that test was sucessfull, each "/" the stuff when it was NOT sucessful, usually the "else" branch of an if statement:
    if(test) {
    // successful
    else {
    // not sucessful
    1. Always be careful when creating such if-else contstructs, especially when you modify the tested value. Write it down using a tree as suggested.
    2. Never modify the tested value inside of if-else constructs. :)
    ...ah, the phone rings, I was just starting .... :)

  • IS my BT IP profile stuck at 2000kbps?

    Hi I have been on BT Broadband Option 3 continuously since early 2006 at the same address, and in mid-2007 I got BT Vision.
    For as long as I remember (certainly over 1yr),  my connection shows as: 448/8,096.  I know as I go into the settings once every 2 weeks to activate/deactivate wireless and use my laptop.
    I recently noticed that my neighbouring flats (live in central London) all get higher speeds. For the last few days I ran the speedtest. Below are the results, always very similar.
    Could it be that I have a "stuck" IP profile which only allows 2,000kbps ???   If so what is the best way to sort this out without having to spent days on the phone?
    Any help greatly appreciated.
    Thank you
    steve

    Thank you for your very prompt reply and advice.
    I don't think waiting for 1-2 days will do anything really, my internet connection is as fast as it's always been.
    I didn't run the speedtest because I noticed a temporary drop in speed as you suggest, just that I happened to be at the neighbouring flat and used their computer and the internet was flying!!  They are on the same BT package.   I got curious and used the speedtest and found out that my IP profile is at 2,000kbps, whereas the 'sync' speed is 8Gbps.  I don;t know what my profile was in the past, as I had never checked before, but I remember for a very long time the 'sync' speed was always 8Gbps.
    Looking online I found a series of posts from 2008 about people having their IP profile stuck (always at 2000kbps), and that it somewhat coincided with those who activated BT vision in mid-2007 (like myself), due to some kind of BT exchange software bug, and horror stories about calls to india without any result, and having a hard time to get their profile reset.
    However I'm willing to follow your adivice and wait a few more days. (True, I disconnected the router recently to put another filter  just in case, but genererally the router is on for months at a time.)
    What I'd like to know however, is that if I'm always having   "sync=8Gbps, IP profile=2000kbps", /2008 bug, who do I contact?    Some of the information in the 2008 posts must be out of date, but they do mention speaking with BT Wholesale.
    Does anyone know how to contact them?  Do I need to have an engineer have a look at it, or can they do it remotely?
    Thank you.
    PS: I only have one socket, all the flats in the block i live look the same so suspect have similar wiring, and i live in central london so i imagine the exchange must be near.

  • I.P Profile stuck yet again at 2Mbps

    Hi,
    I have had this problem 3 times in the past 6 months and its getting pretty tiresome.
    My I.P profile is stuck YET AGAIN at 2Mbps. Please can:
    1. Reset it back to my normal speed.
    2. Give me any advice as to why it keeps happening.
    I have heard that it could be down to having to restart the homebut, but I only do this maybe once every 2-3 weeks when the wifi decides that nobody should get an I.P address...
    Here attached is the Wholesale test and my HomeHub 2.0 uptime.
    Kind regards,
    Alex

    this is normally caused by your line dropping connection or manually resetting a few times in a very short period and on one of the resets the connection speed drops low that correct profile is 2mb  then you reconnect again and get your normal 8128 connection and your profile should correct itself automatically  in your case it gets stuck

  • IP Profile stuck at 135kbps for 1 month

    Hi all,
    I have had numerous problems with  my broadband for over a month now, after years of stability and happy surfing...and after the last two weeks of just going round the same loop with the phone help, I am trying this forum for the first time. Please help!
    Please excuse the long first mail introducing the problem history:
    About a month ago, my BB started dropping, and synch rate fell to 2Mbps (previously 8). If I knew then what I know now, I might never have done anything about it! Since then, the sequence of events is:
    1. New home hub delivered (previously HH 1.0, now 2.0 type A). No change.
    2. Couple of days later I'm told an engineer has "tweaked" something in the exchange, and everything seemingly returns to normal - 8126kbps synch rate, IP profile 7000, happy customer.
    But...
    3. Two days later, IP profile goes to 135kbps, still synching at 8126kbps. I was about to go on holiday, so I left it, thinking potential interim fault.
    4. Back from holiday 11 days ago, no change, so ring again. I can see that BB has been disconnecting frequently while I was away, so clearly some problem with the line somewhere. An engineer comes, and rewires my master socket, which my router is plugged into directly (it was old style, now brand new NTE5 faceplate). Since engineer visit, BB line stable - hasn't dropped at all except deliberately when BT doing investigations, etc.
    5. BT tell me the IP profile they have set is 7000k, but Speedtester says otherwise - this mornings results, same as any other stage over the last 4 weeks:
    Download speedachieved during the test was - 52 Kbps
     For your connection, the acceptable range of speedsis 50-250 Kbps.
     Additional Information:
     Your DSL Connection Rate :8126 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 440 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
     IP Profile for your line is - 135 Kbps
    The throughput of Best Efforts (BE) classes achieved during the test is - 9.22:27.5:63.28 (SBE:NBEBE)
    6. BT send another engineer, who says that the line is fully functional, but that as far as his diagnostics are concerned, I am on a line that has a maximum connection speed of 8Mbps, when I am paying for "up to" 20Mbps. He says, according to his test, I should be able to get 17Mbps (although I suspect this is optimistic - BT say I should be able to get 7-9 Mbps). Anyway, the engineer says that it is a BT retail issue, there is no fault on the line, and that he suspects that if they set me up correctly on the 20Mbps service, the 135kbps problem will go away.
    7. Since then, 6 days ago, BB line has remained stable, synching at 8126Kbps, BT have tried "placing orders" to do what the engineer suggested (though they maintain I am on the correct service). These were delivered late or not at all, and I suspect were just stalling tactics. BT say my IP profile is still 7000Kbps, while Speedtester continues to say otherwise. I have started losing my mind...the case continues.
    I am kind of at the end of the road - if there is nothing wrong with the line, and the connection is stable, why hasn't the IP profile settled down?
    Equally, if there is no problem on the line, why is my noise margin so high (see stats below). There are no other wires going in to my master socket, other than the phone and the router. I have no extensions. I have tried 10 different filters (though when I have previously had a faulty filter, the symptoms were very different). I am at a loss.
    BT's last effort at this was last night, still no change. Router stats:

    Right now, I will take any advice anyone has. It has to be better than going round and round with the same questions, and no change via the phone.
    Thank you in advance!

    Finally, the issue was resolved on Monday....my IP Profile was set back to 7000k, and the line continues to be stable.Then on Thursday, synch speed went up to 16000k, so very happy with that - it was almost worth a month of 135kbps to get the line uncapped.
    BT's database still tells me I can only get 7Mb on my phone line! Although post code check suggests 13 Mb...I wonder how much other misinformation there is out there.
    Anyway, I am still waiting for the IP Profile to adjust up towards the new synch speed (slightly concerned that it is stuck, as no movement up from 7000k in 26 hours).
    Thanks to the moderators for monitoring this case, and keeping me updated. I'll wait until I have seen the IP profile auto-adjusting up towards my new synch speed before I mark the thread as solved.

  • IP profile stuck

    Hello we had broadband and phone problems around Christmas, the long story short is that we had a new phone line installed as the old was corroded and everything is working perfect except for the IP profile has been stuck at 3000 or 3mb ever since. Can the IP profile be reset? Having problems getting BT speedtester to work atm so I shall try post that later.

    Weird thing is the BT Speedtester isn't working properly today as it worked fine a few days ago, I tried again and it gave me this result:
    Download Speed 0Kbps
    0Kbps 7.15 Mbps Max Achievable Speed
     Download speedachieved during the test was - 0 Kbps
     For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 600 Kbps-7.15 Mbps.
     Additional Information:
     Your DSL Connection Rate :4.38 Mbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
     IP Profile for your line is - 3.5 Mbps
    This test was not conclusive and further testing is required.This might be useful for your Broadband Service Provider to investigate the fault.
    If you wish to carry out further tests,please click on 'Continue' button.If not, please close the window using 'Exit' button and contact your ISP for further assistance with these results.
    It's telling me to do further tests, should I proceed with this Tap3 Test? it says I have to change my username speedtest@speedtest_domain.
