Profile.V2 - Cannot access
I'm sure this is a simple one:
I'm using Folder Redirection and Roaming Profiles.
In Active Directory I have set the users profile path as
\\servername\users$\students\%username%\profile Although the user's base folder exists it contains no subfolders whatsoever. When the user logs on for the first time folders such as AppData, Documents, Music, Pictures and Videos are created and so
is a Profile.V2 folder. However I (as the administrator) cannot access the contents of the Profile.V2 folder.
In Group Policy I have enabled the setting...
Computer Confiiguration\Policies\Administrative Templates\System/User Profiles\Add Administrators security group to roaming user profiles
...but I still cannot access this direcotry without taking ownership.
Do I need to create the Profile.V2 folder myself? I have Full permissions on the user's base folder and I can access all the other folders (AppData, Documents etc...) without problems.
Am I missing something here?

You cannot access other users’ profiles because of permission problems. Therefore you cannot use any of other users’ profiles.
This statement just states the original issue..and is by no means an answer or even an attempt at an answer.
We are experiencing the same issue.
Please forgive me if I'm repeating what has already been stated.
The condition occurs when the Profile.v2 folder on the file server is first propagated by the Windows 7 machine. eg. as the user logs off the profile.v2 folder is written to by as the profile is written back to the file server, the redirected folders
policy dictates what is written.. This works fine. The issue is that the folders and files which are generated by this process are owned by the user who is logged on to the Windows 7 OS. This user has ownership and full control of the folders and file. Administrators
or users defined in the root folder can not access the Folders and Files.
Taking ownership of the file structure and assigning the correct permissions to the structure, then reassigning the user ownership again resolves the issue. BUT this is a very inconvenient and labour intensive routine to have to undertake for each user post
their first logon.
Without performing the above action the users profile is not backed up or replicated at a file level to the DR site.
What I'm after is a supported Microsoft routine to rectify this issue. Ideally via group policy. To have to do this via a script is an ardouis task and presents the issue of how can we get the HelpDesk to perform this action. They are not domain admins nor
can they take control of the data structure in question.

I often have occasions to run more than one Profile simultaneously (usually because of different add-ons I've installed on different Profiles). In the past this worked fine. Now, all of a sudden, if I open a second Profile while the first is running the second cannot access the Internet until I close the first. It keeps looking for a website, and failing, until the system "times out". If I close the first Profile, the second is then able to access the Internet.
Note: this is not a problem with opening a second Window in Firefox. As long as they are from the same Profile they will both work fine. Nor does this stop me from using a second Profile to look at website files I have saved to my computer. The only problem is that the second Profile cannot get on the Internet.I just checked, the setting was for "Automatic proxy configuration URL", in the past it was set on "No Proxy". So I'll try changing that (and/or try other proxy options), and see if that solves the problem.
If it does, then just one (academic) question remains: why did that happen in the first place? I don't care what the answer is, so long as your suggestion solves the problem.
Thanks. -
Server with same Profile cannot access same networking
Hi,
I have a lab running 1 x Nexus 5010, 2 x FIC 6120'XP's, UCS 5108 and 2 x B200 M2 Blades. I have configured everything per flexpod guidelines (except I have only 1 Nexus). I boot from SAN over Fibre and zoning everything is working 100% My firmware is 2.1(1f)
Question:
Assinged to each blade is 2 vNICs connected to FabricA and FabricB (FabricA = port-channel from FICA to Nexus and FabricB = port-channel from FICB to Nexus - Nexus has 2 different port-channels conf for each link to each FIC)
After I install VMware, I tag vlan 10 (management vlan) for the management traffic of each VMware node. The funny thing is when I ping server 2, iget a response but not from server 1. Both are configured using the same service profile. If I ping server 1 from server 2, I get a response. This leads me to believe that for some reason the traffic is not leaving the FIC from server 1, but it is when using server 2. I have attached screenshots of both servers vifpaths.
Can someone please help urgently as this is driving me crazy as I do not know what the hell is going on.
CheersHello
Hope this solution will help.
Just found my notes on deleting the users profile:
"Deleted Profile logs back in with temporary profile.
This problem occurs if the current user's profile was accidentally deleted from the system.
Note: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry
1. Log on to the system by using an administrative user account other than the user account that is experiencing the problem.
2. Back up all data in the current user's profile folder if the profile folder still exists, and then delete the profile folder. By default, the profile resides in the following location:
%SystemDrive%\Users\UserName
3. Click Start, type regedit in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click Continue.
4.Locate the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList
5.Under the ProfileList subkey, delete the subkey that is named SID.bak.
Note SID is a placeholder for the security identifier (SID) of the user account that is experiencing the problem. The SID.bak subkey should contain a ProfileImagePath registry entry that points to the original profile folder of the user account that is experiencing the problem.
6. Exit Registry Editor.
7. Log off the system.
8. Log on to the system again."

Profile cannot be loaded, profile manager cannot be accessed, firefox not working
This is somewhat similar to other listed profile manager problems but none of the answers worked for me. OS is Win 8-64 bit. Have 2 user accounts. Admin and Limited. In Admin, Firefox works, can access Profile Manager, there is this profile.ini etc. Everything ok.
But in the Limited account, can not access Firefox. When clicked, it says 'Your Firefox profile can not be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible'. Cannot access Profile Manager "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -p. Gives the same error message (Firefox not running).
Tried copying files in the Admin in to Limited. But the error message is same.
Uninstalled and installed using the Limited Account (supplying Admin password), no result.
Please help me.
Thank you for your time.Hello jcbala
see '''IF''' we can create a test profile in the location you want, type the command:
===== "C:\Users\Limited\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\firefox.exe" -CreateProfile test =====
check if the path is correct (in the specific location)

thank you -
I have constant problems logging in, often receiving username password validation errors even when I cut and paste the values from the email I received when I registered and deleting every cookie which could possibly be set by you. When I can log in and try to access my profile, my browser sits with an empty page waiting for requests from your server to be fulfilled.
Please do not tell me to create an account using a different email, because I have only one I would use for this purpose, and I am not going to change that because of your inflexibility.
I really find this membership service quite poor and it used to be quite good before it was homogenised. Pity I am prevented from using Oracle products to their best advantage because I cannot access the info I need, I suppose I will have to recommend another native XML database to my client instead of seeing if Oracle XDS is capable!!!!@Notcloudy the news you have posted if for google devices ie which operates under android operating system. Android used to remove the path of the data instead of data itself . So with advanced recovery system data can be relocated and used for unfair means!!
In their defend google answered that the android devices using android 4.1 or later are safe with this, thay have worked on this bug.
let get back to our case, i believe that you know that apple uses completely different and most advanced operating system ie ios .
Apple uses data encryption and data protection and much more to protect your data.
so you should be least bother about these stupid bugs if are a apple user ✌️ -
Windows 7 pro client cannot access folders on server 2003 domain server
I added a windows 7 64 bit client to a server 2003 32 bit domain 3 weeks ago and file sharing was working fine until today, 5/4/12. Now, when trying to access shared folders that reside on the server,
I get the following "access denied" message:
[…folder…] is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.
The user name could not be found.
Strangely enough...
The windows 7 client
can open shared folders that reside on the XP clients in the domain
All the XP clients in the domain can access the server 2003 folders
All the XP clients and the server 2003 machine can access shared folders and printers on the windows 7 client.
The windows 7 client can ping the server 2003 machine and vice versa
I can “see” the server in my network list, but when I click on it, I get the same “access denied” message listed above.
So... the only problem is that the windows 7 client cannot access folders that reside on the windows server 2003 machine. There must be some sharing setting that got changed
by a recent windows update.
Here is what I have done/verified so far on the windows 7 client:
In advanced sharing settings for Home/Work, Public and Domain profiles:
network discovery is enabled
file and print sharing is enabled
use user accounts and passwords to connect to other computers is selected (I also tried allowing windows to manage homegroup connections instead, but the problem remained.)
40 -56 bit encryption is enabled
In “gpedit.msc” Local Policies/Security Settings:
enabled the following policies:
Network access: Allow anonymous SID/name translation
Network access: Let Everyone permissions apply to anonymous users
disabled the following policies:
Network access: Restrict anonymous access to Named Pipes and Shares
Network access: Do not allow anonymous enumeration of SAM accounts
Network access: Do not allow anonymous enumeration of SAM accounts and shares
What am I missing? Are there policies on the server that need to be adjusted?
Please help! My business is crippled if I cannot access server files from this workstation. Thank you in advance. As this thread has been quiet for a while, we assume that the issue has been resolved. At this time, we will mark it as ‘Answered’ as the previous

VPN Clients cannot access remote site
Hey there,
I am pretty new in configuring Cisco devices and now I need some help.
I have 2 site here:
site A
Cisco 891
external IP: 195.xxx.yyy.zzz
VPN Gateway for Remote users
local IP: VLAN10 10.133.10.0 /23
site B
Cisco 891
external IP: 62.xxx.yyy.zzz
local IP VLAN10 10.133.34.0 /23
Those two sites are linked together with a Site-to-Site VPN. Accessing files or ressources from one site to the other is working fine while connected to the local LAN.
I configured VPN connection with Radius auth. VPN clients can connect to Site A, get an IP adress from VPN Pool (172.16.100.2-100) and can access files and servers on site A. But for some reason they cannot access ressources on site B. I already added the site B network to the ACL and when connecting with VPN it shows secured routes to 10.133.10.0 and 10.133.34.0 in the statistics. Same thing for other VPN Tunnels to ERP system.
What is missing here to make it possible to reach remote sites when connected through VPN? I had a look at the logs but could not find anything important.
Here is the config of site A

endThe crypto ACL for the site to site vpn should also include the vpn client pool, otherwise, traffic from the vpn client does not match the interesting traffic for the site to site vpn.
On Site A:
should include "access-list 107 permit ip 172.16.100.0 0.0.0.255 10.133.34.0 0.0.1.255"
You should also remove the following line as the pool is incorrect:
access-list 107 permit ip 192.168.10.0 0.0.1.255 10.133.34.0 0.0.1.255
On Site B:
should include: permit ip 10.133.34.0 0.0.1.255 172.16.100.0 0.0.0.255"
NAT exemption on site B should also be configured with deny on the above ACL. -

What on earth has happened?
Please Help.
Thank you.You need to do a clean reinstall.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
* Firefox 5.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
* Uninstall your current Firefox version.
* Do not remove personal data when you uninstall the current version.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
* It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder] and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox. -
Hi there
My client has a laptop which won’t load the desktop when disconnected from the network. When you log on (while disconnected) you get the error
“Windows cannot access \\server\users\name\desktop”
Works as expected while connected to the network.
The server is a Windows Small Business Server 2003 with active directory etc. and roaming profiles turned on. This issue does not occur on other workstations/laptops.
When I check the Users folder on the local system drive there is not a desktop folder. I assume this is the issue although I’m not sure how you would force windows to create one or why one hasn’t been created?
This is a brand new laptop so my initial reaction was to reset the laptop to factory state and then add the laptop back in to the domain. After this process the issue was still present!
I guess the only thing I should mention is that this was shipped as a Home Premium laptop and was then upgraded to Professional using an upgrade key.
I have checked Control Panel, System & Security, System, Advanced, User Profiles and the account shows as Local with Roaming Profiles greyed out.
Any ideas?

Dear Sir,
I really need your valuable assistance i was about to finish a project but at very last moment i am stuck. Here is the explanation below...
I have two files called "holder.swf" and "slide.swf" i want to improt the "slide.swf" using this action below
var myLoader:Loader = new Loader();
var url:URLRequest = new URLRequest("slide.swf");
myLoader.load(url);
addChild(myLoader);
myLoader.x = 2;
myLoader.y = 2;
Also i have attached the flash file of "holder.swf". My concern is the moment i am calling the "slide.swf" inside the "holder.swf" it is showing the following error...
" TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.

HT4759 Cannot access iCloud Contacts in Outlook 2007
I cannot access my iCloud contacts in my Windows 7 PC. When I am in the Contacts tab and I click on "Contacts in iCloud" in the iCloud section, a window comes up with "The set of folders cannot be opened. The information store could not be opened."
Hi,
According to your description, I think you are unable to search your contact in Outlook 2007.
Method 1
Corruption in the pst-file could terminate the search
query prematurely and not all or none of the result will be shown. In that case you should run
scanpst.exe against your pst-file to check it for errors.
Method 2
To show contacts, the
Outlook Address Book Service should be added to your mail profile.
Outlook 2007
Tools > Account Settings > Tab Address Books
If the Outlook Address Book
service is added already, you should mark your Contacts
folder as an Outlook Address Book.

Outlook 2007 Clients Cannot Access Free/Busy Calendar info. for Exchange 2010 Mailbox
Hi:
I have Outlook 2007 clients that cannot access Free/Busy Calendar info. for Exchange 2010 mailboxes. They receive error like "...you do not have appropriate permissions..."
If those same users logon to a machine running Outlook 2010 then they can view the free/busy info. of the other user's mailbox, so I believe the permissions are set correctly on the mailbox to allow the viewing.
Any insights are greatly appreciated!
Thank you!
Bob Herman IT TropolisHi Herman,
As you said, it seems users have proper permissions on mailbox.
Please make sure users has Reviewer permission on Outlook 2007.
Please try to run Outlook 2007 under safe mode or re-create profile.
Also try to turn Outlook 2007 to Exchange Online mode from Cached mode.
Thanks

Error 26EE0668-A00A-44D7-9371-BEB064C98683 Cannot Access Anything At All
Hello all,
I have seen some similar topics matching my issue so I decided to post my case also on your forum. Would appreciate a lot if anyone could please help. Recently I bought new computer with Windows 8 (Lenovo PC). When I try to access Control Panel I get windows
error message with red circle icon and ''X'' inside. The content of error message is ''26EE0668-A00A-44D7-9371-BEB064C98683'' and under this id is the sentence in our ''nonenglish'' language so I will try my best to translate as good as possible, it is: ''Assignment
of User Accounts Names and security IDs weren't done''.
Please note, EXTREMLY IMPORTANT: I am 100% sure when this problem occurred and I am at least 95% sure what caused the problem. I decided to set up the windows 8 logon password - the password
which is asked right before windows 8's start screen occurs and right before windows desktop with icons and taskbar occurs. I wanted to have one so I didn't have much troubles setting it up but later I didn't like it due to reasons that are offtopic to this
question. So I decided to delete it but I didn't know how to do that - researched a lot of instructions and nothing helped. So it seems like I completely damaged my own top priority (admin) user account with something I shouldn't have done.
Also please note: I have already said this problem is in my case surely linked to corrupted user account ID. I think (however here I am
not that sure anymore as I was what I was typing in previous paragraph) I even know which exact step of procedure of my work (trying to figure out how to delete logon password so it would go right
to the start menu page and then to desktop with icons). I clicked on win keyboard key + r to come into ''Run'' and typed there ''netplwiz'' because according to some instructions I found I thought I would be able to delete password logon request there.
In this window I am referring to, I then deleted the only and only entry in the tab Users under ''Users Of This Computer''. Shouldn't have done that. Button ''add'' is still there and ISN'T even grayed out but doesn't respond when i click it (see latest
consequence in ''Consequences'' part of my message below). I then saw that my user account id is somewhere and somehow (not sure where exactly I was) recognized which means it still exist but it is completely corrupted. I then found information online I could
make new user account name and copy data there but I am searching for DIFFERENT solution that would fix the problem.
Here are few consequences of this problem (same problem in safemode):
- I cannot access Control Panel via right hand taskbar menu because it is showing the error message (see second paragraph of this message after the first one ''hello all'')
- via same right hand taskbar via Search, I can access Control Panel BUT I cannot click ANYTHING there
- 90% of programs don't even run including ALL (EXCEPT ccleaner) tools that are anyhow related to ''nasty'' files cleaning, such as pc health advisor, malwarebytes,...
- Norton isn't responding. Doesn't report any windows when i download something with answer whether or not file is safe.
- at least half of programs, when i try to run them, aren't responding (freezes)
- cannot do ''sfc /scannow'' in cmd because it says im not administrator but i am
- many buttons, when trying to click them, don't even ''respond'' and many more consequences.
I am VERY new with Windows 8, very very new. And even further - my windows 8 isn't in english so I would appreciate if you could provide very detailed steps how to obtain something in order to click/type it.
Please if someone could help, do so. KINDLY REMEMBER:
I will do my best that I reply very quickly so if you decide to reply and I would like to ask you to please do so, then keep an eye on that topic. Thank you in advance.Hi,
According to your description, it seems the user account is fully corrupted, I would suggest you fix the corrupted user profile, please refer to the detailed instructions in the link below:
Fix a corrupted user profile
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows/fix-corrupted-user-profile#1TC=windows-7
(The instruction for Windows 8 is similiar to Windows 7 )

Firefox would not load Yahoo home page properly, checked add ons and plugins-no problem. So unistalled. When reinstalling, went through until the end, then I get:
Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access this item.
I went through the Help section on this page, even to right clicking the file and "run as administrator". It went through and restarted the computer. When I went to look for the program, it wasn't listed in All programs. I searched files and the only thing there was the same message as above.Do a clean (re)install and delete the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\).
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.

User cannot access shared folder on a single PC.
This one has got me thoroughly confused.
Over the weekend I'm moved a shared folder from an old file server to a new one. Move went well. Added share and security permissions. Changed user scripts. Check ever users system to insure they had the new share drive and wouldn't notice a thing. All worked well.
Except one user.
She cannot access the share at all. She can access other shares on the new file server. She can access the needed share on other systems. Other users who have access can access the share on her system.
Does anyone have anything I can do beside wiping her profile/system?

I think it has something to do with WPA2/AES key renewals.
