  • Roles/Profiles for ALEREMOTE

    hi all,
can anyone let me know all the Roles/Profiles required for the User ALEREMOTE in a production system.
I understad that the roles sap_all, sap_new , s_bi-wx_rfc and s_bi-whm_rfc can be used in the development and the Quality systems but am told that the roles SAP_ALL & SAP_NEW are not supposed to be used for ALEREMOTE in the Production systems as it would give all authorizations to all the users.
so, could anyone kindly let me know the various roles/profiles that need to be assigned to the user ALEREMOTE keeping in mind that SAP_ALL & SAP_NEW are not allowed and at the same time all the transactions w.r.t BW3.5 should go through successfully.
kindly revert back at the earliest as we are in the process of going to the BW Production.
    Thanks & Regards
    Manicks

    hi Manicks,
check oss note 150315-BW-Authorizations for Remote-User in BW and OLTP. hope this helps.
    Symptom
    1) The ALE user fails security in the BW side
    2) Missing authorizations when executing Customizing of extractors
    3) No IDocs could be sent to the SAP-BW using RFC.
    4) Automatic source system connection failes with error R3220: No RFC-Parameters in source system defined
    5) When collecting content in BW, warning message RSAOLTP035 comes up
    Other terms
    Authorizations, SAP_ALL, S_BI-WX_RFC, S_BI-WHM_RFC, S_RS_ALL, ALEREMOTE, BWREMOTE, RSAOLTP 553, RSAOLTP553
    Reason and Prerequisites
    a) In the BW there exist two user:
       i)  a human administrator, using S_RS_ALL
ii) a user called BWREMOTE (or similar), used to receive the data from the OLTP, using S_BI-WHM_RFC
    b) In the OLTP there exist also two user:
       i)  a human administrator, needing authorizations to create users and RFC-destinations.
ii) a user called ALEREMOTE (or similar), used to ...
           1) ... connect the OLTP to the BW
           2) ... extract the data
           3) ... send the data to the BW
           4) ... show monitoring dialogs for tasks 1 to 4, the profile S_BI-WX_RFC is used (<i>however does
not suffice on some points since some authorizations are
    missing in the delivered profile</i>)
           5) ... make customizing of OLTP extractors
for this, additionally the authorizations to execute IMG-functionality, to execute Transaction SBIW and to maintain the applications, which shall be customized, must be given during the customizing functionality is used.
    Solution
    1) The profile S_RS_ALL resp. S_BI-WHM_RFC must contain (at least) the following authorizations:
    Profile
    2) The referred functionality is b) i) 5), thus
       the authorizations to execute IMG-functionality,
to execute Transaction SBIW and to
maintain the applications, which shall be customized,
must be temporarily given to ALEREMOTE, if you want to execute the
functionality from BW-side. The permissions for executing the
customizing is not included in the profile S_BI-WX_RFC, since
       this is a critcal functionality.
However there is the possibility to execute the customizing
in the OLTP by a human administrator by hand, using Transaction
       SBIW.
3), 4) For sending the Idocs and reading RFC-destinations
       the profile S_BI-WX_RFC is incomplete.
Please check, if the following authorizations are included:
    Profile
---   S_BI-WX_RFC  <PRO> Business Information Warehouse, RFC User
    --   B_ALE_ALL    <PRO> All authorizations for ALE/EDI
    --   S_APPL_LOG_A <PRO> Application log: All
    --   S_BTCH_ADM   <PRO> BC: Batch - Processing authorization
    --   S_BW_RFC     <PRO> BW: Authorization Profile: Other
--   See above, same sub-profile as in S_BI-WHM_RFC
---   S_IDOC_ALL   <PRO> All authorizations for IDoc functions
    - BW AddOn BW-BCT 1.2B:
These authorizations have been delivered with BW AddOn Patch 2 (see 158489 for the AddOn Patch information), except release 45B. For 45B, the authorizations are delivered with BW AddOn Patch 1.
    - PI2000.1:
For 4.6B and 4.6C due to delivery errors, this profile also is incorrect. Please transport it from the BW into the Oltp (it is the same in any system and release).
    - PI2000.2:
For 4.6C due to delivery errors, this profile also is incorrect.
Please transport it from the BW into the OLTP (it is the same
    in any system and release).
    - PI2001.2:
For 4.6C due to delivery errors, this profile also is incorrect.
Please transport it from the BW into the OLTP (it is the same in any system and release).
Alternatively, import the sapserv* transport BRSK002208 under the directory
    general\R3server\abap\note.0150315 into your OLTP-System.
For help on the sapserv* transport refer to Note 13719.
    5) If you have PI-Basis 2005.1 in your source system, you need to attach role SAP_RO_BCTRA to your user in the source system. Otherwise, the functionality mentioned in the message is not available. The system continues to function as before, you may ignore the warning.

  • What are the differences between ALEREMOTE and BWREMOTE?

I often get confused about the above two concepts.  Would you please help explain?  Thanks a lot!

    Hi,
    Background user in BI (BWREMOTE):
The background user in BI is used for communication with the BI source systems, for the extraction of data, and for background processes in BI. You create the background user in BI in the Implementation Guide and assign it a password (SAP NetWeaver  ® Business Intelligence  ® Automated Processes  ® Create User for Background Processes).  SAP recommends that you call the BI background user BWREMOTE. The system asks for a background user password when connecting to the source system. The authorization profile for the background user is S_BI-WHM_RFC.
Background user in SAP source system (ALEREMOTE):
The background user in the SAP source system is used for communication with BI and for the extraction of data.
If you connect an SAP source system to BI, the background user is to be created in the source system. You can create the user directly in the source system in user maintenance. You can enter a name in the Implementation Guide in BI that will be used as the default name for the background user when you connect a new source system. (See SAP NetWeaver  ® Business Intelligence  ® Links to Other Systems  ® Connections Between SAP Systems and BI System ® Maintain proposal for users in the source system (ALE communication). SAP recommends that you call the BW background user for the source system ALEREMOTE. If the source system you are using is also a BI system, SAP recommends that you create the background user for BI and the background user for the (BI) source system completely separately. The authorization profile for the background user in the source system is S_BI-WX_RFC.

  • ALEREMOTE and BWREMOTE

    Hi,
My Question is based on a Conversion Exit. In my Ztable i hv PSPNR(WBS element) and WWPRO(Project ID) fields which display just internal id's upon execution for ex. 000879 ; but nw in Settings>UserParameter>i check on the Conversion Exits. and finally the Data that displays is External ID's i.e P0008791. This Settings will be for My User ID only.
Now when i logon as another user & execute the same Ztable,,the Output displayed will again be internal id's. So again i vll hv to go to Settings>UserParameter>i check on the Conversion Exits.then i am able to c External ID's
So my Question is When i bring/move this Data from DEV to Quality, do v have to set these options again.? i.e when data comes from R/3 to BW,its ALEREMOTE  and when it goes to Quality it moves thru BWREMOTE. So vll i have to set these options again??
Please correct me if am wrong. Also please suggest any pros and cons for the problems that wud arise!!
    Thanks

  • How does Adobe make their camera  profiles for ACR and Lightroom?

I'm not interested in the proprietary algorithms , but I am curious as to the photographic mechanics and hardware tools used by  Adobe to make the various camera profiles as they differ markedly from the ones I make using the DNG Profile Editor.
My methodology is to set an X-Rite 24 patch Color Checker target, light it evenly with electromic flash (with 0.1 stops from center to corners as mesured with a Sekonic L-758r Meter) and make a series of exposures bracketed in third of a stop increments around the meter reading in case the camera sensitivity differs from the meter's.
I then process the raw files and convert them to the DNG format, select the best exposure and run it through the DNG Profile editor. My results differ from Adobe's generic profiles for that camera enough that that I don't thin kthe difference can be credited to the difference between a generic profile a specific camera.
How do the different tools work in the DNG converter? Starting with the Options for "Base Tone Curve"? Is there a document a moderately color geeky person can understand that explains this?
I thin kthe DNG Profile editor is a great and under usedtool. I wish more people knew about it.
Thank you for your time and consideration.

Someone who only eats sausage may not want to know how it's made.  Someone who creates things with food, a chef, a cook, or otherwise is thinking about a career in the food industry, might have a interest in such things.  Someone who is thinking of making sausage will want to know all the details.  Someone who is concerned with the public safety might want to know how sasauge is made.
It would be nice for a sausage maker to give some hints about the process as compared to what each of us can do with the DNG Profile Editor and to the original poster's question, why are our profiles different from Adobe's?
It is my experience that when I create a profile with the DNG Profile Editor, and then compute the color error for each of the 24 color patches of a CC24, using a program like Imatest, some colors are quite a bit off and some are very close, and the colors that are off, are not the same ones that are off when I compute the color error using one of the Adobe Standard or Camera Standard profiles.
Is Adobe using more detailed and sophisticated color targets with hundreds of different colors, or if not, do the tools provide more feedback and allow more manual manipulation of the profile and so the differences are due to their judgement about which colors to make "right" and which ones to let have more error associated with them, that can be manipulated by hand instead of merely letting the DNG Profile Editor apparently distribute the error amongst the various colors with some sort of even-handed calculation.
For example it is easy to imagine that someone tweaking a profile by hand with a live readout of the error of each of the colors plus an overall composite error, might put more emphasis on skin tones being right if they have a background in people photography, or more emphasis on bright colors being right if their experience is in textiles and the current trend in the US is bright colors--and a different emphasis when the trend is muted colors so there is cultrual bias and life-experience coloring a "standard" profile.
In other words, how much of the difference between Adobe and our profiles are due to Adobe having different or better science, and how much of it is due to Adobe have different or better "artists" who decide what colors to make correct compared to others.

  • ICC Profiles for papers and not for HP printers.

Hello, I apologize if this has been asked a billion times before, but I have been trying to find the ICC profiles to install for a different printer.
I am not using a HP printer, but a Canon iP6000D.  Let me explain, I'm a student and my class required me to buy different papers that were not for my original printer and I have to install ICC profiles for the papers I chose. My problem is I cannot find the ICC profiles for the paper I bought on the HP site, it's very unweildy and hard to find here. I had no problem finding my moab printer paper ICC profiles...  HP seems to enjoy hiding their profiles.
So where would I find the iCC profiles for the Hp premium plus Photo paper that is Soft gloss 8.5x11" 200gm 80lb? I've looked all over and it seems to be impossible to find.

  • Security profiles for configurators and developers

    hello experts,
is there a generic (standard) profile for:
    1) functional configurators that are not allowed to touch development objects, and
    2) developers that are not allowed to perform functional configuration?
I am familiar with the S_DEVELOP authorization object; is there a way to exclude the customizing tables from the list of objects?

    Tiberiu,
You cannot disable (deactivate) them all at once. You will need to disable 1 object at a time. Like I said, this option is cumbersome, but it will make sure that your Functional Consultants do not have access to Basis Objects and still have access to all the Functional ones.
In case you are not aware of how to copy sap_all in a role, do this.
1 Create a role using PFCG
    2. Go to the Authorizations tab
    3. Click change
    4. Copy sap_all from the list of profiles that you will get.
5 To disable, you will need to go to each object and click on the small green rectangle/square to the left. It will say "deactivate" if you place your mouse cursor on it.
A few more comments/suggestions from my side
Workout with your team to whom you want to provide the access.Let them(functional team) come with what access they need and accordingly provide the access.
If you can do that, great ! If the Functional Team members are non-cooperative, then you don't really have a choice. Again, if this is a Prod system, don't do what I said. That is too liberal an access. If it is Dev it should be okay. QA is also debatable.
Inactivate the objects which are not needed and provide display activity for the objects which you are not sure.
I would say disable the objects that you are not sure about rathar than giving Display access. Display access to S_TABU_DIS can be an audit issue in some cases.
There will still be some authorization issues since some transactions change tables. But you can always add the ones needed.

  • Nexus 1000V - port-profile for VSM and VEM on same host

    Hello,
I'm trying to run the VSM and VEM on the same host. At first I connected the VSM to the vSwitch. This works fine. Then I tried to move the VSM behind its own VEM.
I have 3 different VLANs for management, control and packet traffic. Is it possible to connect the three VSM interfaces (management, control and packet) to only one port-profile, in which these three different VLANs are configured in a trunk? Or do I have to configure for each interface a separate port-profile, if I am using three different VLANs?
    Thanks
    Tobias

    Hello,
The VSM does not emit VLAN-tagged frames. Therefore, its ports need to be configured in access mode. If your Control and Packet VLANs are the same, you could use the same port profile for both.
Please make sure that the access VLAN is a system VLAN for all three ports.
On a related note, if the VSM's storage is on NFS or iSCSI, the storage vmknic needs a system port profile as well. More info at:

  • Color profiles for web and print

    Hi,
I am editing photos from my DSLR. They were shot as jpg in Adobe RGB. I am editing photos for both web and print at the moment and was wondering if there is a way to do that so that I would be able to edit for both simultaneously in the Photoshop process.
Here are the details for what I normally do:
For print, I would work photos over in AdobeRGB while the Proofing option is set to Working CMYK (usually SWOP, depending on what printer I use). Then I'd flatten the artwork, resize and sharpen, and change the color mode to CMYK, save as TIFF.
For web, I usually edit while RGB Color Settings are set to sRGB IEC61966-2.1, and Proofing is set to Monitor RGB. I flatten, resize and sharpen, and Save for Web.
Is there any way I can edit a single photo (shot in Adobe RGB) so that they can be used for BOTH print and web? I know CMYK vs. RGB would mean that they would end up looking different in the end, but is there any way I can have a single Photoshop file for a photo and go through the necessary steps to make it ready for print and for web... or is it that due to color profiles and proofing options, there's nothing I can do but to edit each photo twice?
Thanks in advance to anyone who might be able to help.

    karoleend wrote:
Thanks for the advice. I'll try that out.
I posted my second question before I read your response, but yes, it does seem the best choice to convert to sRGB when Saving for Web. And you say you place your .psd file into an InDesign document? Do you do that if you only wish to save as a pdf... what do you personally do when saving as TIFF for print?
I don't save Tiffs for print. I use PSDs. I don't ever give ID files with all linked files to the printer only PDFs. If i'm working on something like a coffee table book I would do the conversion in Photoshop. but most magazines and newspapers, CD covers, posters, brochures everything stays aRGB until I make the PDF.

So I have a a few macs and some windows pcs. I am using windows server 2008 for the server and I was able to bind the macs to the server. I also did set up the romeing profiles on the server. The thing I am having a issue with is I will like it so when someone saves a file on there mac desktop and they login to a windows computer it will show that file on the windows desktop. If anyone can help me on how to set this up please do

Unless you have 3rd-party apps allowing Windoze to read and write Mac OS Extended, or your Mac to read & write NTFS, your options are ExFat or Fat.   See #9 in Using Disk Utility.

  • No camera profiles for D90 and D80 files in ACR 8.3?

    Hello,
I recently bought in to Adobe's Creative Cloud and downloaded the latest version of Photoshop and ACR. I love the new process and everything about the new Photoshop, however, when I went to re-edit some older images taken with a Nikon D80 and D90, there were no profiles to be found under the camera calibration tab. What gives? My only option for D90 files is "ACR 4.6" and "ACR 4.4 and 3.6" for the D80 files. Where are all the rest? What am I missing? What's strange is that they are all there in Lightroom. I hate Lightroom, though, and would prefer to continue working within ACR if possible.
Thanks a ton for any insight.

  • Color profile for Viewer and Canvas?

I've noticed that the color of the video in the FCPro 4.5 Viewer and Canvas looks absolutely nothing like the color when I output to DVD or QuickTime movie. (The video in FCPro seems to be much darker.) Is there a way to make the Viewer and Canvas look more analagous to what I'm going to get on final output?
    Thanks.

Nope. Computer monitors colors have such a wide range that they are very unreliable. This is why it is best to hook up a TV, or better yet a properly calibrated NTSC Monitor (the latter only if you are producing professional video).
    #8 External Monitor Viewing.
    Shane's Stock Answer #8:
A simple path is mac > firewire > camera or deck > rca cables > tv
Then start up your camera and tv, then open fcp.
Then go View > External video > all frames
Video playback should be Apple firewire NTSC (If you are using an NTSC set)
Audio playback should be Audio follows Video
Techinially, this should send synched video to your TV
If for some reason you can't view your timeline on your external monitor, there are a few things to try:
    1) Make sure that the camera/deck is connected and powered on BEFORE you open FCP.
    2) In the Final Cut Pro menu select AUDIO/VIDEO Preferences and make sure your signal is being sent out thru Firewire DV.
    3) Go to the menu and select VIEW>EXTERNAL>ALL FRAMES.
    4) Click in the % box above the image and select FIT TO WINDOW.
    5) Go to VIEW->refresh A/V devices
    6) Make sure the Log & Capture window is closed
If you want it to play in both the canvas and the external monitor you need to go to the FINAL CUT PRO menu and select AUDIO/VIDIO settings and make sure MIRROR ON DESKTOP is selected under the PLAYBACK OUTPUT section
