Profiles for D300 body

Hi,
Are there any profiles for the D300 body, particularly:
17-55mm f/2.8 zoom
70-200mm f/2.8 VRII zoom.
I can see the former in the LensProfiles directory fro D90 latter for the D3X.
Thanks
Geoff

Hi,
I'm using the D300 too, with nearly the same lenses.
The original Adobe profiles are selected automatically in LR 3.2.
As camera type, there is displayed "Nikon" only in the lens correction window.
The profile for the 17-55 f/2.8 zoom works very well (the effect is very impressive at first time use). I compared it with an user created (with D300) profile, there are only very small differences between the two profiles. This lens is an DX lens. I assume, the adobe profile is created only for an APS-C sensor of exactly this dimensions.
The profile for the 70-200mm f/2.8 VR (I own the older VR lens, not the VRII) is some kind of problematic. The profile is created for an FX body because it's an FX lens. As mentioned in this forum, that should be no problem - LR is able to scale it automatically for smaller sensors.
I don't know if I make a mistake, but selecting different bodies in the lens correction window isn't possible.
The profile is selected by LR automatically too, but the corrections don't fit for the D300. The edges of the pictures are very bright, when correction is on. That means to me, the correction parameters for vignetting fit to an FX body - I think so do the other parameters.
So at the moment, I don't use lens correction for this lens.
I don't know if it's a general problem of the original "universal FX-DX" adobe lens profiles.

  • Seeking profile for Nikon 14-24, D3 body

    Hi all,
I'm trying to correct for some barrel distortion on a set of interior shots taken with the 14-24.  I can do a fairly reasonable job using the grid and "straight-line" option in CS5's lens correction, but am hoping someone's already created and shared a profile for this very popular lens.
Also, CS5 doesn't list out a D3 or D3s body as an option, only a D3x.  The chip size is the same (I believe), but it'd be nice to have the proper camera body show in the options...
Anyhow, does anyone have lens profiles for this lens?  It seems like a vast waste of time to do my own profile(s) for a lens that's been on the market for some years now.
    Thanks!
    Jerry

    Soren,
I shot my 14-24mm lens series this way:
Shoot 14mm focal length at f2.8, nine images(Top left, top center, top right; center left, center middle, center right; lower left, lower middle, lower right.) That constistutes one set of images for Lens profile creator software.
Next, shoot 19mm at f2.8, same nine images. (Move the tripod if you have to for a set, but not within a set. Move the head around for a given set, to get that chart in the right position in your viewfinder for a given desired image(chart on top left, chart on lower right, etc.). This is the second set.
Next, shoot 24mm at f2.8, same nine images. This is the third set.
Now  change to different aperture, f8.
Shoot 14mm at f8, nine images, fourth set.
Shoot 19mm at f8, nine images, fifth set.
Shoot 24mm at f8, nine images, sixth set.
    Now change to f14.
Shoot 14mm at f14, nine images.
Shoot 19mm at f14, nine images.
Shoot 24mm at f14, nine images.
    Last, use f11.
Shoot 14mm at f11, nine images.
Shoost 19mm at f11, nine images.
Shoot 24mm at f11, nine images. Tenth and last set of nine.
You can shoot more sets, I vary the aperture and also the shooting distance. But you still want to have that chart covering about 1/4 of the frame area. I have three charts printed and mounted on boards which I use to do the images for the software. I shoot raw. Be sure you have the camera set to shoot raw if you want that.
Also, zero out all the sharpening, wide angle corrections, other things, in-camera before shooting. I save my projects(each set is a project) and I print out my lens profiles to look them over after I have finished. I use a tripod and easel with the chart board mounted on the easel taped to it. I shoot outside so tape it or the wind will blow it and you have to start all over. I also write out my chart of images and check them off as I go, for each aperture and focal length. I set it on aperture priority since you do not care what the shutter is, and use auto focus unless you need to manual focus, which I had to do on a few when my AF sensor didn't go where I wanted it on the chart.
    I hope this helps.

  • I cannot find a profile for Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR

Hi, I have tried to download a profile for my D3100 kit lens - Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR but cannot find it in the Adobe Lens Profile downloader.
Adobe says that it is supported (two years ago: see it at this link from October 2010    http://blogs.adobe.com/lightroomjournal/2010/10  )
Since it is listed many places as being supported, it is frustrating that I cannot find it in the Adobe Lens Profile downloader.
Am I doing something wrong? Or can I download that profile without using the downloader.  Can I use the lens profile that is shown with a different camera.  I see similar lenses under D300 and D90 in the folder with about forty NIKON lens profiles (but only two for the D3100). However, under Lens Correction when I tick Nikon as model then I only see about seven lenses in the drop down list.  How can I see the full contents of the folder?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks
PS.  I was going to ask where the profiles are stored but luckily I have found them after a search.

I too would like to see this lens profile added to the list in Lightroom, in addition to the Nikon DX AF-S DX NIKKOR 55-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED VR. I've found a similar version of the 18-55mm under the D40, but not for the D3200, and I haven't been able to find any profile matching the 55-300; only 55-200.

  • Configuring optimizeit profiler for multiple kjs

    Hi,
I am facing problems in configuring optimizeit profiler for multiple kjs. It
works fine if i have a single kjs in my app server and i am able to read the
profiler output. I am using iAS6.0sp2.
When i try to change the script that attaches the profiler with kjs for
multiple kjs all the kjs start on the same port i.e 10819. I want all the
kjs to start on different ports so that i can read the profiler output for
all of then at one go.
If any body has done this before with success then please help me at an
    earlier date.
This is very very urgent for me.

There is three things important While you working with custom member ship and FBA to work.
    1. If you have developed Custom membership extending SQLServerMembership provider then make sure to check for Machine Key. as internally if usese combincation of this to encrypt password, so if you used first userid using some other method of creating user
then probably it does not use machine key in that configuration file.
    2. if you doing brand new implementation from base classes you probably want to check your query & stored Procedure. make sure to run sql profiler to see what query is getting fired.
    3. this one is most least and mostly not will be problem but do check Application Name,
Note: Key to get this working is Machine key, Application Name, your custom code revisit, sql profiler and you should be good,
Also do review FBA Code from CodePlex you can save significant time in developing from scratch.

  • Profile for Tokina 12-24mm not correcting distortion as expected

I just created a profile for my Tokina 12-24mm f4 on Nikon D300. I did 9 shots at each of the 5 marked zoom levels (f/8 for all). Testing the profile in Lightroom 3, it doesn't appear to be doing much distortion correction on shots done at 12mm, and virtually none for shots done at 16mm. Looking at the individual "corner shots" there isn't much curvature to the lines of squares, but plenty of taper towards the center.
Should I have told LPC this was a Fisheye Lens? Or do the corrections just not do very much correction?
    - Bob

I just eyeballed the grid chart at 12mm with it set to fill the frame (less than a foot away) and there's no perceptable curvature. Actually that lens is pretty stinkin' good. I realized what I was dealing with was the effect of physical distance when super-wide, and very close to the subject. If part of the subject is, say, 1 foot away, and another part is 2 feet away, that second part is going to be half the size. So really perspective distortion, not curvature.
In other words - never mind
Almost don't need a profile for this lens. Except - as you say - for vignetting, and maybe some ca.

  • Current Lightroom / Camera Raw Camera Profile for Sony ILCE-6000 inaccurate: green cast in shadows! Capture one better! Please fix it!

    Hi folks from Adobe!
Please take note that the current Lightroom / Adobe Camera Raw Camera Profile for the Sony ILCE-6000 is very inaccurate: There is a serious green cast in the shadows!
Capture One Express for Sony (which is free by the way) renders a lot more correctly!
Please correct this, since I'd rather buy the coming LR6 because of keeping my established workflow instead of going the Capture One route.
A good example can be found in the dpreview forum "LR5 A6K shadow pulling, a mess! Adobe LR is broken? "
Or search for Philp Reeves 3 weeks with the Sony A6000 review "3 Wochen mit der a6000", where he compares it to the Sony A7, using both times Lightroom to push the shadows.
The Sony A7 is fine where earth looks like brown earth, the A6000 picture looks like grass instead.
Please fix this! This is a high volume camera frequently bought by enthusiast or as second body for FF photographers. That would be really great!

I am talking about the two raw files linked in the very last post of page 6 of the Reeves comparison thread, not JPGs or screenshots of unknown manipulation.  In LR they both say f/11 and ISO 100 and have a similar tone, but one is shot at twice the shutter speed as the other.  This side-by-side is using Adobe Factory Defaults for each image where the profile is Adobe Standard, the toning sliders are all 0, tone-curve linear, and the Sharpening and Color NR are 25:
However, when I look at the camera-embedded JPGs, side-by-side, the 1/80th image on the left is darker than the 1/40th image on the right, as expected given the reported shutter-speed difference:
And it is indeed the darker image that has more shadow problems, also as expected.
When I do manipulate the darker (a6000) raw file in LR, I do see that the shadows are greenish when brightened unlike most other cameras which usually show magenta, which is the combination of the blue and red sensors showing more noise because there are half-as-many photosites as compared to the green, so I am seeing what people are complaining about and would expect shadow noise to be purple not green, I'm more concerned that these two example raws aren't actually comparable due to apparent differences in exposure.  It is also odd that the lens listed in LR is different than the lens listed in the filename, so either someone has mistakenly or deliberately renamed the file wrong or someone or something has changed the EXIF parameters that LR is reporting to be the same when they're really not.

  • Looking for lightroom lens profile for tamron lens

I am using lightroom 5 at work and shot some images with a canon 5d2 body with tamron 24-70 2.8 vc and tamron 70-200 2.8 vc lense. According to the note below, both lens are supported since lightroom 4.1.  However I can not find the profile of these two lens on lightroom 5.  Does anyone how I can bring the profile back in?  Thanks.
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/multi/lens-profile-support-lightroom-4.html

The ProgramData folders are for Photoshop and are probably as old as the newest version of PS or DNG Converter you have.
The lens profiles for Lightroom 4 and 5 are under LR's Resources subfolder:
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom x.x\Resources\LensProfiles\1.0\
(x.x = whatever version of LR you have)
For my LR 4.4  I have the following 16 subfolders under LensProfiles\1.0:
    Apple
    Canon
    Fujifilm
    Hasselblad
    Leica
    Mamiya
    Nikon
    Pentax
    Phase One
    Samsung
    Schneider
    Sigma
    Sony
    Tamron
    Tokina
    Zeiss
LR 5.3 adds DJI and GoPro as manufacturers for a total of 18 subfolders.

  • Lens profile for Leica Summilux 50

When I run lens profile downloader, and select Leica from the lens manufacturer dropdown, I don't see any Leica lenses listed. I read elsewhere that there is a profile for this lens, yet I don't see it in the profile downloader.

Adobe probably doesn’t have one because I believe this is a manual lens.
A lens profile is a file that contains a series of corrections that are matched to various combinations of: focal-length, aperture and focus distance.  This lens is fixed focal length, so that’s 1 of 3 parameters that are known, but unless the raws from the camera contain aperture and focus-distance data then a lens profile isn’t very precise and the profile matching can’t take place automatically.
If you want you can try making your own profiles using the Adobe Lens Profile Creator—search Adobe.com for the program, and see if you can get them to work.  Besides the program you’ll want to print out the checkboard calibration target at a known size on a laser printer.
Start by shooting the series of images of the target for just one focus distance and aperture and see if that profile works.  If so, then do some more for various apertures and focus-distances.  If the info is not stored in the raw files then you’ll want to make a series of profiles and match them manually, yourself after recording what the aperture and focus distance were.  If your camera is one that records an aperture value but it is just a guess based on a front-facing photocell on the camera body, then this could be wildly wrong so the corrections may not be that close.

  • Lens profile for Sony A900 carl zeiss vario sonnar 24 - 70 zoom?

Is there a lens profile for the Sony A900 Carl Zeiss vario sonnar 24 - 70 zoom lens in Photoshop CS5 camera RAW? I have the latest update, the Sony is an old camera now and the CZ zoom is similarly old, beautiful thing to use but doesnt seem to be supported in camera RAW profiles or lens correction filter in CS5. I'm about to use RAW to process around 10 sets of 5 exposures to create files for HDR and want to syncronise the correction to each group of images before I begin to process them, after HDR process I intend to create a pano out of them so its imporrtant to get the lens correction done right at the start and applied identically to each image. Thing is that if I look in the Sony profile theres only a few lenses but no Carl Zeiss, if I look in Carl Zeiss it doesnt list the Sonnar 24 - 70.
    Any solutions?

It appears  a lens profile is available for this lens using the Adobe Lens Profile Downloader. The profile does not have to be created with your camera model, just a model with the same crop factor or smaller camera sensor. This one is for a 1.5 crop factor APS-C sensor size.
The 24-70mm is available as well for a 1.0 Crop camera, which will also work with a 1.5 crop body.

  • Where can I find lens correction profiles for EF 17-35 f/2.8L lens using ACR 6.2?

Using Photoshop CS5 Extended on iMac 10.6.4.
I'm  working with wedding photos shot by a friend but I cannot find lens  correction profiles for Canon EOS 20D or the EF 17-35 f/2.8L lens. When I  search online it simply says "No online profiles found". Is there a  download for older lens profiles? I checked & I'm using ACR 6.2. I don't have the camera so there's no  way to take test photos to create my own profile. But, shouldn't there  be a profile available; the camera isn't that old?

Go to DXO Pro and download the 30 day trial. It works very well for lens/body correction, and unlike Adobe, DXO maintains data on the older cameras and lenses. Updates will always have those available. Adobe is a latecomer to this part of the correction process, so as Ian said, no call, no supplier? Out of luck.
    http://www.dxo.com/intl/photo
It's fair to note that DXO does not necessarily have a complete line of everything, like my Tamron 28 to 75 isn't available as a module. They do pay attention to demands, or lack therof,  that are not mainstream as well. But their offerings are excellent, and the tests, professional.

  • Is there a lens correction profile for Nikon D3100 18-55mm?

Is there a lens correction profile for Nikon D3100 18-55mm? I so don't know what I'm doing

The only profile I could see is a profile for the 18 - 55 mm for the D300.
As far as I know the sensor size is identical for the D3100 and D300, so you can use this this profile.
If the profile is not installed in the list of your Lr, you have to download it. In order to download it you have to download and install the Adobe lens profile installer first.
And before you can install the lens profile downloader, you need to download and install Adobe Air.
These two programs are for free and can be downloaded from Adobe's website.
Nothing is ever easy, is it?

  • Lens Profile for Tokina 11-16mm for Canon?

Does anyone know where I can obtain the profile for the Tokina 11-16mm Canon lens?  I don't really want to try and reinvent the wheel since someone has likely done this already.

Even if Tokina is aware of the lens profile tool, they would have to be convinced that dedicating any effort would be worth it.  No good deed goes unpunished, and this is doubly so for corporations.  They would be in a position where they would be responsible, in some manner, for these profiles. Which sort of hitches their wagon to Adobe, for better or for worse. There are subtle corporate implications to this sort of thing, which is why corps move slowly on stuff like this.
As for the Adobe tool that allows you to browse lens profiles, I believe there is a field on the profile that indicates who created it. It has been a long time since I looked at it.
The fact is there are many, many lens and body combos out there, and what is obvious and common to you very well might not be, or those who use it are not interested in Adobe products. As in all things, there is going to be a ranking, and the higher profile vendors are just going to be addressed first.
Meanwhile, Adobe has made the tool available for easy lens profile creation anyone who wants to DIY their own profiles and share them. It really isn't that hard to contribute to the community with a few hours of work. It beats complaining it hasn't been done for you already.
