Profiles on 6300

Hi there, I need help...
I have set a special ringtone for my group clients.
Then I set a ringtone (just a short tone) in my profile "in meetig".
But when I activate the profile "in meeting" and any of my clients call me, the phone rings with the ringtone connected with the group. I also tried to set the ringtone just to a contact, but it doesn´t help...
How can I keep the special ringtone for my contacts, in the normal profile and have that short silent tone in the profile "in meeting" for every group and contact...
Thanx a lot

ooopss sorry, missed your last sentence.
No, no way to create a 'profile' which would only accept calls from one person.
HOWEVER, you could install Cortana (if it's available for your region) and use her to create 'quiet times' which you can then configure to allow only certain people to 'break through'

  • 6300 end of list tones in profiles

Can anybody tell me what end of list tones are and what they do.
    Menu>Settings>Profiles>Selected Profile>Personalise>End of list tones
I cant find any onformation in the destruction manual and google & here just return standard ringtone results whenever I search for end of list tones
    TIA

Ive just figured out what they are
If you have your keypad tones on and end of list tones on whenever you are going through a menu and get to the end/bottom of the menu if you go one further the phone changes the tone of the beep of the keypad to sound an end of list tone. Its VERY feint even on the loudest kepad tones but it will be there.
The end of list tone doesnt sound if you turn your keypad tones off even with end of list tones on.

  • 6300 Caller Group & Profile problems

    Hi
Just bought this phone for my girlfriend. She is trying to set a certain mp.3 ringtone to a specific caller group.
She has only one caller group (my details) which has several numbers, a profile image and a caller group tone.
However, when i call her mobile, her default ring tone plays, and the number displayed is just that, the number. No name, or profile image appear.
I have looked high and low, via the instruction manual and the internet, and i can not find where the problem could be.
She is using SIM & Phone for the memory. I have switched off the phone and back on, and still no joy.
It seems as if the standard ring tone & settings is over-riding the caller group profile.
    Does anyone have any suggestions?
    Many Thanks
    Andy

    Here is what I do...
    1) Menu -> Contacts -> Groups
    2) Scroll to the group and press Options, DO NOT OPEN THE GROUP (i.e. View)
    3) Select 'Group details'
    4) Scroll down to 'Group tone' and press Options, DO NOT PLAY IT
    5) Select 'Change tone'
    6) Select 'Open Gallery'
    7) Navigate to, and select, your tone.
    Hope this helps.

  • Low Profile Graphics Card for HP Compaq PRO 6300 Small Form Factor

I need to purchase a PC suitable for a CAD workstation, I want a dedicated Graphics card and understand that the 6300's are limited due to the power supplies being only 240 watts.
I want a good dedicated graphics card to cope with this PSU.  I have heard the AMD Radeon HD 6450 will work with this are there any better cards?
I don't want a graphcis that are for the purpose of two screens e.g. like the Nvidia NVS 300.
    thanks

    You're very welcome.
P/S specs on the 610 GT are 300W.
    http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gt-610/specifications
P/S specs on the 430 GT are 300W.
    http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gt-430/specifications
So, according to nVidia, a 240W P/S may be under the limit, but other folks are running them with the lower 220W P/S.
Given that info, I would say probably the same would hold true for the 610 as well.
Actually, I think the 610GT would be a better choice... look at the difference in the maximum power draw of the 2 GPU's.
The 610 draws a max of 29W and the 430 draws a max of 49W.

  • Silent Profile key ( # ) is not working anymore

    Hello,
I am using a Nokia 6300. Recently I did a phone software update (to version 5.00), backed all my data up, had afterwards some trouble to get the saved data back on the handset, but it finally worked. Though I still have one small issue. Before the update, when I pressed and held the # key, the phone switched from General to Silent Profile, and back to General if I pressed the key again. This nice feature is now somehow disabled.
Does anybody have the same problem, and would there be someone nice enough to help me out on this one?
    Thanks in advance

which keyboard format did you set in the language?

  • Issue in Nokia 6300 Software version 5.0

After upgrading my phone software succesfully to version 5.0 i have found that i cannot turn my cell to silent profile by pressing " # " button for few seconds.
Is there any solution to this , if not , then how to restore the phone back to version 4.71
    waiting
    Thank you

I don't have a 6300 so am unable to help you with the first part of your query, but as to the 2nd part it is NOT possible to go backwards in terms of versions of firmware, and doing so could possibly damage your phone and is therefore NOT recommended.

  • 6300 callers name not shown

    hi,
i bought a nokia 6300 two days ago and have been registering it and moving my numbers across etc. but one thing i can't seem to do (and it sounds really silly) is get a callers name to appear when they ring me. whenever i receive a call, the phone rings and just says "call" but no name or number. i've tried saving my numbers to the phone memory, sim memory and both, but nothing has worked. tried different profiles and themes, but the same thing happens. any suggestions?
    thanks
    beth

thanks for that, although i've tried that and it hasn't made a difference. i've received calls from around 10 people and none of the names have been shown. i've tried changing my friend's phone id, and have had her ring other people, and her id comes up on everyone elses phone. i did the same with my parents phones, and the same thing happened... it's really annoying!

  • Nokia 6300 remove or edit Configuration Settings

    Hi
This is doing my head in, I am assuming that what I wasnt to do is not impossible but cannot find it documented. My 6300 is a standard Nokia variant- not supplied by my network provider. It came with 4 configuration profiles installed. These determine the apns to use for GPRS services. My operator is Orange UK. The proper apns to use for general post pay services are
    orangeinternet
    orangewap
generally speaking the former is fine for 99% of stuff, these are AFAIK provsioned to most subscriptions.
The phone came as a "gift" to a marketing offer and as such has been preinstalled with some applications and settings. the ones preinstalled for Orange are wrong- the wrong apns are set up. This means when you try to use a GPRS using application it gives an error. I can provide a "user" setting with the apn set properly, whch is fine to get web browsing working with the phone browser, but other applications do not seem to allow the use of the personal config as the default connection and resort tot he Orange settings with the invalid apn. I can see no menu that allows me to either selct one of these preset configs and either edit it so its correct , or delete it so it cannot be used. I got the OrangeWAP profile downloaded from Nokia.com and this too seems to work fine. How can I remove or edit the incorrect settings?

    Hi,
    Welcome to the forum!
You can try to configure those settings manually by going to the Settings > Configuration > Personal Config. Sett. > To add a new personal account, select Add, or Options > Add new > Select the service type, and enter the required parameters.
Scroll to it to activate a personal account, and then select Options > Activate . If this doesn't help, try checking if there's available update for the phone. If there's none, try to reinstall the software through Nokia PC Suite.
Visit this link to download the Nokia PC Suite: http://www.nokia.com/global/support/nokia-pc-suite/
If it's still the same, it's best to have your phone physically checked with the Nokia Care Point. If the phone is out of warranty, charges may apply.

    Hope this helps.

  • Best ICC profile/display setting for ThinkPad T430

    Hello everyone,
Any recommendations for the ICC profile I can use with my ThinkPad? While I managed to get rid of the blue color cast to some point using color corrections within display driver and updating the monitor driver itself, I wonder if anyone can suggest some ICC profiles? I have a basic HD display (1366x786). I am occasionally into photo and video editing and while I know this display is not perfect for such tasks, I would like to get maximum out of it.
    Cheers and thanks,
    Srdjan

lenssd9, if you want to truly get rid of the blue cast then you should calibrate with a display calibrator. Barring that, if the laptop is the brightest object in your workspace then your eyes will adjust to the blue tone over time.

  • T430 with Intel Ultimate-N 6300 wireless card cannot see 5Ghz network

I have two machines with the exact same Intel 6300 AGN wireless cards.  Both running Widowns 7 64-bit.  Both have same versions of Intel drivers installed.  The X230 sees and connects to my 5Ghz wireless network.  The T430 sees only the 2.4Ghz network.  The 5Ghz network is not even displayed in its list of available networks.
The T430 sees other 5Ghz networks in the neighborhood.  Using inSSIDer I can see that the wifi card is functioning on the 5Ghz frequency as it displays 3 other nearby networks.  But I have no way to test connection since those are not my networks and are secured (as is mine).
Windows also shows those neighboring 5Ghz networks in the list of available connections.  Only my own 5Ghz network is absent from both lists.
Both my 2.4 and 5Ghz bands are broadcasing their SSID's.  All MAC filtering is correct and both machines are allowed on the networks.  The WPA keys are correct.
I have even copied the network settings from the working X230 using the "Copy this network profile to a USB flash drive" option from the wireless network properties window and added the 5Ghz network to the T430 using the USB key.  So I know the settings are identical.
I ran Lenovo diagnostics Wireless Quick Test on both machines and got identical successfull results.
The only thing amusing about this issue is that the X230 wifi card was purchased from an eBay seller in China and that is the one that works.  The card in T430 came with the laptop direct from Lenovo and that one has trouble.  Both cards have Lenovo FRU numbers and clearly are whitelist approved since they both work.  Just that the T430 card only sees the 2.4Ghz network.
I have assigned static IP addresses to both machines on the network.
    I have rebooted the router.
I have run all Lenovo and Windows updates on both machines.
If anyone has further suggestions I woul really appreciate assistance.
    Thank you.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

  • Back to the stone age with 6300

Used to have a 6020 until it was stolen last week (what idiot wanted a 2+ year old basic phone that was switched off 15 minutes after beng stolen?). Worked beautifully in Bury system 8 base unit and cradle: auto switch on, auto unlock, self recorded voice tags etc etc etc. a real handsfree car phone.
Replaced it with a 6300 in a standard Bury system 8 6300 cradle (non BT). What a disappointment: no auto switch on, no auto unlock, cra??y generated voice tags that are useless, no handsfree profile. Instead it comes up as a headset profile.
Bury says that Nokia hasn't bothered doing handsfree profiles for their latest phones. If I'm going to be forced to redo the car harness again, Nokia can say goodbye to 15 years of loyalty. (As can Orange - they charged me an upgrade price for the 6300 and told me it was a direct replacement for the 6020!!)

  • Can't reinstall 6300 firmware

Hello, my phone is rebooting about every minute (blank screen and again normal). I went to Nokia service and they reinstalled the phone's firmware and evertyhing was allright, but i played with a large mount of sms with this phone and this problem came again. Recently I have bought nokia DKE-2 cable. I want to reinstall the phone's firmware alone (without the nokia service) but I can't - "update failed". I think this is because my phone is restarting every ~minute and nokia software updater can't reinstall normaly, but i know that nokia service can it do easily
My OS: Win XP Professional, SP 2. I tried with the newest PC suite, but i uninnstalled it because I had problems with connecting a cable. Then I downloaded only software updater, installed it and the driver(all that is needed). But in 5/6 Step i have message - that "Software update failed, try again".
Ah one more thing: it's written that phone must have set "General profile", but every my phone's restart the phone profile is setting to silent..
How can I easily reinstall the nokia's 6300 firmware?
    Thanx.

i dont have an usb cable i only have bluethoot connection

If the vibrate setting is on in the profile and it still doesn't vibrate then it most likely has a hardware or software failure.
