Profiling Information

Hello,
I have two questions related to profiling.
1. Is there a detailed description available on analysing profiling data ouput by the java program? Please give me the sources. Preferably free sources on the net.
2. When I start my program with the command ..
java -Xrunhprof:cpu=times <my.prg.to.run>
.. I get these messages on my console.
HPROF ERROR: thread local table NULL in method exit 009D6874
HPROF ERROR: thread local table NULL in method exit 009D6874
HPROF ERROR: thread local table NULL in method exit 009D6C74
HPROF ERROR : stack underflow in method exit
HPROF ERROR : stack underflow in method exit
HPROF ERROR: method on stack top != method exiting..
HPROF ERROR: method on stack top != method exiting..
HPROF ERROR: method on stack top != method exiting..
The last message continues for most actions that I perform in my program.
Further when I read the profiling data file (thus produced) java.hprof.txt from HPjmeter 1.6 (this is a free profile analysis tool available on the net) I get '(partial data)' displayed in red at the top of most screens.
What is the problem? Is this due to some error in the tool (HPjmeter) or is some information missing from the profile data file? If so is it due to the same errors that are displayed on the console at the time of running the program?
I can send the profile data file jprof.hprof.txt if someone wants to see it.

The problems you are describing are a combination of hprof and JVMPI problems in the 1.3->1.4 releases.

MSS "Employee Profile Information" Personalization

Hi all.
I´m trying to make some personalization in the "General Data" iView at the "Employee Profile Information" page of the MSS with the "ctrl + right click" method... But no modification remains. I make it, save it, but... When I preview the page again... Everything is as in the beginning.
Does anybody know why this happends and what can I do??

System profiler "information is not available" for PCI cards

After swapping two cards in their slots, I get the message system profiler "information is not available" for all PCI cards. Mac Pro 4 core 2.66, OS X 4.11 server. The cards are still working. I tried clearing PRAM, etc. Is this a hardware problem or just system profiler being difficult? Is there any way to tell?

That is a bit odd. Maybe try forcing kextd to run can resolve. You might be working off cached info and it is giving System Profiler a hard time. Run this command and then reboot:
sudo touch /System/Library/Extensions
That will update the modify time of the Extensions folder and trick the system into thinking you installed new drivers. This will force an update of the kernel caches when you reboot.
Not sure it this will do it, but best I could think of.

How to collect profiling information

I try to use -Xrunhprof:cpu:old to collect some profiling information.
However I got the following information:

Someone else will probably provide a better answer. I am not aware of such a debugging feature (monitoring CPU use) built into firefox.

If this occur in firefox [[safe mode]] there is a problem that needs investigating.
Do not forget to watch the number of instances of ''plugincontainer.exe'' that are open, there is a known bug causing problems with that see [/questions/812618]
Note also you are able to for instance turn off the hardware acceleration, or by setting a preference (''html5.parser.enable;true/false'') turn off the html5 browser ability of Firefox.
Presumably you have seen the Web Developer options from the firefox button. (And maybe considered firebug add-on, depending on what you are trying to check)

Retrieving Webcenter User Profile information from portlet programmaticaly

Hi guys,
I'm triing to retrieve WC user profile information programmatically from a jsr 286 portlet but:
ADFContext.getCurrent().getSecurityContext().getUserName(); ----> always return anonymous
ADFContext.getCurrent().getSecurityContext().isAuthenticated() ----> always return false
(i'm obviously authenticated on webcenter with my profile)
Anyone knows what the problem is or how to retrieve webcenter user profile information from within a portlet?

i've tried passing this parameter to the portlet : #{webCenterProfile[securityContext.userName].userName}
I can retrieve from the request object and the username is correct, the problem is that i need the whole profile (i have some logic that are dependant on user email, lastname etc), and adding all profile attributes as parameter seems to me not the correct solution.
I need a way to access the user profile directly from the portlet.

How can I view my profile information?

This really isn't a huge deal but it really bothers me...on other versions of AIM and adium I can add myself to my buddy list to see when I'm away and to read my profile information. Is there anyway to add myself to my iChat buddy list? or is there anyway to view my profile/away message like other people would if I were on their buddy list? thank you!

Only with another Buddy List using the same Server (I.e. an AIM Screen Name) or in another AIM Client such as AIM for Mac or AdiumX

Is my Firefox profile information stored on the Net? I deleted it in a system restore and need to retrieve my Zotero library.

I was wondering whether Firefox profile information is stored on a server. I use Windows Vista and recently did a system restore, wiping my hard drive after backing up my documents. Unfortunately I didn't realise that my Zotero library and notes were all stored inside the Firefox profile folder, which seems to have been deleted with everything else. Would any of my information have been stored on a server anywhere?

Appdata by default is a hidden folder. You can show it by going to Organize | Folder and search options | View tab | Show hidden files, folders, and drives

So seeing as I can't possibly find out when I created my Skype account (month/date), I have resorted to actually modifying my profile information for privacy reasons. Yet it doesn't seem like it worked, because my full profile is still visible when I search for my addy using someone else's account. Is there anything I might have done wrong?

have you changed both your registered email address and profile email addresses (https://support.skype.com/en/faq/FA10238/what-s-the-difference-between-a-primary-email-address-and-a...)? I think it may also take a short while or a while before the Skype directory is updated after you change your profile information.

Using gprof for profiling information

Hi,
I would like to gather some profiling information for an application. It links with many other librraies (.so). I complied the libraries with the -xpg option to generate profiling data. I set the LD_PROFILE environment variable to one of the libraries (.so) so that the data is generated for that library.Using gprof I am able to determine the time spent in each function in that library. But How do I do the same when I want to profile multiple libraries at the same time. LD_PROFILE does not accept multiple libraries. Is there any way to gather the profiling data for a process that covers all function calls.

I haven't used the sampler API directly. I found this blog post which talks a little bit about the theory behind it:

Also, here is the AS code that Flash Builder uses to read data from the sampler API, and then send it via Socket connection back to the Flash Builder. It's a somewhat old version, but it's all I could find online. I don't know if it will be useful.

User Profile information

I have recently installed the 8iLite on a win2000 pro desktop. WHne I log in as scott on POLITE, I get the standard:
Error accessing PRODUCT_USER_PROFILE
Warning: Product user profile information not loaded!
You may need to run PUPBLD.SQL as SYSTEM
Ok, so I log into the POLITE as system and run this command:
@PUPBLD
It creates some synonyms.
I log back in as scott and still get that message. Is this a problem and how can I resolve it?

How to transfer profile information to one domain to other domain

Hi
Now now i am having one domain(ABC.com) with 700 computer and now my organisation is plan to change our domain name due to some reason.
They have some requirement in this migration . They want same profile and files in user desktop when they logged in to new domain.
Same files and profile configuration has to be loaded when they logged into new domain .
how to do that any idea please help.

for my further implementation I need some information about the ICC profile used for an actual image edited inside Photoshop. How can I read the ICC informations about an image?
I am implementing an export plug-in and found some ICC component inside the ExportRecord struct, called:

What I am not understand:
How can I read the iCCprofileData and which information will be delivered by the iCCprofileSize?
For iCCprofileData I got int values like @179952120 or @179952176. They differ for every loaded image. Seems that I just read the memory address. The "Handle" points to an empty char '\0'. I have no idea how to work with the datatype "Handle" correctly ...
For the iCCprofileSize I got integer values like 544 for the embedded profile Adobe RGB (1998), 3144 for the working color space sRGB IEC61966-2.1 or also 3144 for the embedded profile without color management:
embedded profile = Adobe RGB (1998) -> iCCprofileSize = 544 (or sometimes 560)
working color space = sRGB IEC61966-2.1 -> iCCprofileSize = 3144
embedded profile = without color management -> iCCprofileSize = 3144
embedded profile = SWOP2006_Coated3v2 -> iCCprofileSize = 2747952
working color space = Coated FOGRA39 (ISO 12647-2:2004) -> iCCprofileSize = 654352

The variable canUseICCProfiles delivers always the value 1. As well if I selected the embedded profile without color management.
Can I infer from the iCCprofileSize which profile will be used by each image?
Does somebody has more experience with these there members (iCCprofileData, iCCprofileSize and canUseICCProfiles) of the struct ExportRecord?
I would be grateful for some hints.

But its getting apply to title as well as to Department - as above class is same for both fields , while I require to change the style only for the department.
Any suggestions ? I have changed the same using Designer which works as per the need , however - I dont want to use SPD Tool !!!
Bottom line : I Require different font style in Title and Department without use of SPD.
Any suggestions/idea ?
