Profit Center change from 2007 to 2008 in basic data of WBS elements??

Dear all,
I am quite desperate - we change the complete CO structure from 2007 to 2008 and I have to reallocate all projects (WBS elements and networks) to new profit centers.
The profit centers are valid as of 1/1/2008 - the old one finish 31/12/2007.
The problem is that the annual closing procedure is done with Actual Results Analysis since we are working with the POC-method for revenue recognition - and I will only do this transaction in 10 days.
If I cannot limit the profit center allocation, I do not know how to avoid that either 2008 postings will be on 2007 profit centers for the first automatic MIGO bookings 2008 or the the last 2007 bookings will be on 2008 profit centers.

Hi,
I would like to add few more lines on this. There can't be multiple controlling area in a project whereas there can be multiple company code for a project. To change controlling area at WBSE level, the controlling area of the project need to be changed. After financial posting into project, it will be difficult to change the controlling area / co code / plant etc. in project structure.

Profit center change is material master issue in EHP7

we are facing issue in materail master profit center change .recently upgared with ehp7 after this upgarde its not allowing to change in materail master.
i have alternative solution for this is t code OMT4 i can change message type E to W .
But my old version its allowing even though OMT4 having Message E

Last time we tried changing the profit center we faced error MM326.
Is there an SAP note or some other solution that can be used for this case?

How to load Profit Center hierarchy from R3 to BW

Hi people,
Sorry, but I already saw some documentations here and I couldn´t solve my problem.
I need to load Profit Center Hierarchy from R3 to BW.
I already have the InfoSource 0PROFIT_CTR activated and I would like to know what are the steps to load the "Standard Hierarchy" that we have in the transaction KCH6N in R3.
I tried to create the Infopackage based on 0PROFIT_CTR_HIER and when I tryed to schedule, the system asked me the file name to put in the "external data", but I don´t have file to load, I need to load de hierarchy directly from R3.

U have to activate datasource 0PROFIT_CTR_0106_HIER in R/3 system and replicate that to BW.
And u should install standard transfer rules (0PROFIT_CTR_0106_HIER from BI CONTENT) in BW system.
Create infopackage to load hierarchy.. In Infopackage properties, 'Hierarchy Selection' tab, click 'Available Hierarchies from OLTP' and select ur profit center hierarchy.
There is no difference loading hierarchy data in BW 3.5 and BI 7.0

Profit center change in FB01

Hi,
when i do posting in FB01:
For first line item for GL a/c - 'GX' profit centre 'PC1' and for second line item GL a/c - 'GY' profit center 'PC2'. After posting for GL account GY profit center automatically changing to 'PC1' of first line item.
this is happening for only G/L account GY account and not for others. Directly it is picking from first line item
I've seen the substition rules and Customer exits and they won't have any effect on this.
Our Fucn Consultant telling there is no config for this modifcation.
While in debugging, I am able to see the change is happend to XBSEG-PRCTR for second line item from PC2 to PC1 of first line item.
THis has happened at following form of SAPMF05A.
MF05AFF0_FCODE_BEARBEITUNG_BU_BS.
Can any one tell me reason for this behavior and how to rectify the same..

Hello Saint,
Once the document posted you can not change the profit center, there are two options are available
1) Reverse the original document and post new document with correct profit center.
2) Post the document in profit center using 9KE0.

Transfer of profit center balances from old profit center to new profit cen

HI,
My client wants to deactivate all cost centers and profit centers and create new cost centers and new profit centers for new fiscal year 2009.
So here my queries are
1. Putting an end date to the existing cost center and creating the New cost center now itself in the system with effective date as 1st April 09?
    I changed validity period in cost center but it does not accept.
2. How to restrict postings to profit center from April, 2009 ? even changed validity period and changed as inactive mode in profit center,
    It is allowing postings to profit center.
3. How the balances need to be transferred to New profit centers? I tried in 9KE0 T.code but in this T.code we can transfer profit center and GL A/C wise
    but here we have around 20 profit centers and 100 above Gls, so it will take so much of time, so kindly suggest me short way.
4. And When can we transfer balances to New profit centers i.e April 1st or after completions of Audit? because client wants to post pending transactions of 2008 FY
    to old profit centers in April and May months. So in this situation how can i proceed?
5. For mapping the Assets & Liabilities balances as on 31st Mar 2009 to New profit center the following need to be provided
    A. Profit center wise Trail balance
        ( For this i suggested S_PL0_86000030 t.code) is this correct?
    B. Profit center wise Balances of Subsidiary Ledgers i.e Vendors, Customers & Assets
6. On which date I can close 2008 FY& open 2009 fiscal year for Assets?
Please guide and provide me solutions above my queries.

1.Pls tick all the lock indicators. System would not allow the posting to the cost centers
2. for the analysis, maintain the lock indicator to the profit center. System would give an error when anybody tries to post to the profit center during the analysis period. please note system would allow posting to the profit center outside the analysis period of lock indicator
3.You should transfer the balances through LSMW or other mass data transfer tool like BDC or ECATT
4.I Guess you should finish all your transactions and then do the transfer on a date which is acceptable to the business
5. The report code S_Pl0_86000030 is correct.
6. Try the report codes S_ALR_87013343 - Profit Center: Receivables , S_ALR_87013344 - Profit Center: Payables

Profit Center deriviation from Cost Center

Hi all,
I have just configured CCA and PCA for one of our new company code.
I have created 3 cost centers like A, B, C and subsequently same have been created as profit centers too.
Maintained the profit center in the cost center master data.
No other derivation rules has been configured so far.
Now i am trying to do a expense posting with F-02, after entering cost center, system is updating profit center field with a dummy profit center only.
Even i f a changed the dummy to normal profit center, again system replacing the normal PC with dummy PC.
I want like...when i enter CC as A, then i need to derive PC also as A for the line item. ( For both expense items as well as revenue items).
Please suggest.

We have already implemented the said SAP note.
Let me explain my requirement again.
We have IOA, CCA, PCA active in our system.
For every expense or revenue line item Internal order is mandatory.
apart from we have 3 cost centers and 3 profit centers ( 1:1 )
in cost center master , profit center is assigned.
1) users are going to decide the cost center, while posting FI direct entries only. So while doing F-02, they will enter CC, and IO manually and at the same time PC should derive from cost center master data ( as it is 1:1 only).
2) as specified above, we have IOA, CCA, PCA active. In this case IO, CC, PC are to be set as mandatory fields for Field Status Groups G004 and G029?

Internal order profit center change

I want change the internal order profit center but when iam changing the profit center the below message is coming
You changed the profit center; see long text
Message no. KO367
Diagnosis
You have changed the profit center from 1110-P to 1610-P. This is only allowed when the corresponding configuration was made in Customizing. Then this message is only a warning, which you can ignore.
Procedure
If you want to make it possible to change the profit center, you should change this message from an error message into a warning. To do this choose Adjust message control (Application area "KO", message number "367").
When you change the profit center, the last period should be settled and since then no more postings should have been made.
Notes
Order values can already have been updated on the profit center you are assigning to. For the new assignment, only the new order values on the profit center you are now assigning to are posted.
If an order is assigned to a profit center and the "Integrated Planning" indicator is set, plan costs can be updated in the future on the old profit center.

Hi,
Changing profit centre assignment to internal order has certain consequences, which are partially listed in the message. So, the system gives you a choice to forbid this kind of action or allow by making the message only a warning. If you want to do so, go to OBA5 transaction, enter the 'KO' as application area and change the parameters for 367 message.

Dear PS Gurus
Our scenario is PS centric where projects are used as cost and revenue buckets. We are selling service in terms of consultant hrs to our clients which are tracked through time bookings in Projects.The Sales order and billing is based upon resource related billing. Similiarly, We maintain profit centers in projects at WBs level and reporting is based upon PCA.
Business new requirements are forcing is to change Cost center/Profit Center hierarchy. We have already thousands of on going projects in system with old profit centers. If profit center hierachy is going to be changed then does it mean that we need create all projects newly and plug the new profit centers or we can replace old profit centers by new one.If we opt the second option then what are the consequences of this change and what is possible way out to counter the change?

Profit center change during FI doc posting

Hi,
When posting an FI document (the FM uses RFBIBL00), the profit center gets changed when the document gets posted.
The Program crestes a session, If seen in the session, the screen value for profit center is different than the one thats present in the posted document.
Is there any configuration setting that changes it?? if so, please tell me which one??

Hi the profit centre can be changed a lot of different places so theres is not an easy answer to you question!
In order to find the exact location of the change will you have to debug the posting!
Use transaction GGB1 in the area Financial Accounting open Line Item and select the first available substitution (you MUST mark it before you proceed).
From the menu select Extras Activate Total Trace. You will now leave TA GGB1 but you will STAY IN THE SAME session and you will now do the posting that will post on the wrong profit centre do not switch to another session.
When you save/enter new lines will the debugger pop up every time a call to a substitution is called!
You will now have to analyze all this combinations happy hunting

MDG-F 7.0 GL, cost center, profit center change history in ECC

I am working in an MDG-F 7.0 workshop and am primarily working on cost center, profit center and GL account.
I have come to realize that all field attribute changes made to cost center and profit center that are initiated from MDG-F won't be updated in ECC change history tables therefore i loose the ability to look up the change history in ECC but in MDG-F.
However ECC history table is udpated for GL account attribute changes initated from MDG-F.
Do everyone have the same understanding as I do? Please let me know if you see something else.

Here you have to select respective object and after searching result you can find there is link with aready existing master data objects.
You can click on the link to open respective object. Here you can edit and change as per your wish

I would like to know what precautions we should take for mass changes of profit center corrections in the "Product Cost Collector".
I want to make same profit centers in material master and in product cost collector for that we need some report on "Product Cost Collector" or table name so that we may compare the profit center in material master and Product cost collector in order to make them in sink.

Sales order takes profit center from material master view Sales: Plant/General data.
Profit center is assigned in (material master record) MMR in sales orgn 2 view. If you assign there automatically it will trigger in the sales order. In the item data -> account assignment tab .
This profit center is used in MMR because, once you do OR- LF- F2 for that material this material value has to trigger in the profit center in FI properly.
After doing F2 and when you save a the Invoice i.e., F2, automatically an accounting document gets generated along with a profit center document also gets generated if you have assigned profit center to your MMR.
