Profit Center Local Currency (Currency Type 90)

We are in the middle of implementation of SAP and our curreny setting is as the following:
Group Currency: USD
Controlling Area Currency: Currency Type 30 (USD)
FYI we are also implementing multiple valuation as the following (T-Code 8KEM):
Currency Type    Valuation
10                     Legal
30                     Group
10                     Profit Center
Now we set up Profit Center local Currency as Curreny Type 90 (Profit Center invoice currency) in IDR since we want to have different currency then our Group and Controlling Area currency (USD).
However I am just worried that this will cause inconsistency in Profit Center especially between FI and CO.
Anybody has experience whether it is safe to use curreny type 90 as Profit Center local Currency?

Hi Ernst,
Did you ever get a solution for your query. I am facing a similar situation.
In my case the company code currency is USD and controlling area currency is also USD. I am not sure if I should leave the currency field blank in the PCA controlling area settings or populate it with 30 or 90? 90 to me means I am recording PCA currency again as USD when the system anyways records the transactions in both the transaction and local currency. 30 makes sense to me where I can choose the group currency EUR but then the currency setting of PCA is inconsistent with that of the controlling area.
Would appreciate if you can advice on the matter.
Happy New Year

  • Re:assign profit center to a order type

    hi gurus,
    good morning to everybody,
i have a question i have 1000 materials in my organization using by 5 company codes in that few material i need to assign profit center so i went to mm change and assigned the profit center for sales:general/plant and plant data/stor.2, if i want to assign profit center to order type how can i assign, if i cannot assign in order type i need to assign profit center in mm change for 500 materials, so if i change manually in mm change for 500 materials is it going to effect for the other company code when they post the transactions please give me your opinions.
thanks in advance and points will be assign for useful answers.
    kumar.

    Dear Kumar
You cannot assign the Profit Center to Sale Order type.  Whatever you maintain in Material Master, that will flow automatically in sale order as and when you create.
If you want to change the profit center in material master in bulk, you can do so via MASS.  In fact for sale order also, you can achieve this via MASS but no partial delivery should have been made against that sale order.  In case, you have already made partial delivery, then the field would become grey and you cannot change the same.
    thanks

  • DBM Order - Assign Profit Center By DBM Order Type

    Hi SAP Gurus,
I have new requirement from my user to have different Profit Center by DBM Order Types.
Currently, we only have One profit center for all DBM Order types.
The DBM Order type that we are using is :-
    1. Counter Sales (DBM Order Type 1000)
    2. Service Order (DBM Order Type 2000)
    3. Insurance (DBM Order type 2001)
    purpose new profit center
    1. Counter Sales (DBM Order Type 1000) - Profit Center MMXX-11000
    2. Service Order (DBM Order Type 2000) - Profit Center MMXX-11001
    3. Insurance (DBM Order type 2001) - Profit Center MMXX-11002
the requirement is, when user choose Order type 1000 Counter sales, the System will use profit center MMXX-11000,
if the user select Insurance Order Type 2001, system will use profit center MMXX-110002.
is there any Substitution involve in this configuration ?
is there any others configuration need to be configure ?

    Hi Fairulnizam,
You need to add the field order type & define the sequence number in the table of the configuration & then use table maintenance generator to generate the maintenance view
Once generated you will be able to maintain Profit center at the order type level along with the other standard criteria.
Other option to generate another table in the sequence to make it generalized at order type level if the first table criteria is not met.

  • Post billing invoice with different profit center for specific cond. type

    Hi Expert,
I have requirement where for each item in the sales order, when the user create the billing document, the accounting document generated need to use one specific profit center on specific condition type.
For example, my order profit center in the account assignment is PC1 (derived from material) and it has 2 condition type, Z1 and Z2.
Currently for this condition type will be posted to 2 different GL account. (Configured in account determination)
Going forward, the plan is to use same GL account for Z1 and Z2 but specific for Z2 should use different profit center (not taken from account assignment profit center).
Is this possible and if it is may I know the best way to achieve it?
    Thank you before.

    Hi
First of all check with the Controlling team wheather profit center can be assigned to the Z2 condition type only.If it is not possible then you assign a new subroutine to Z2 condition type with the help of ABAP team

  • Profit Centre Local Currency

Hi friends, I need your help with the following subject:
I need to obtain profit center accounting reports in both Controlling Area currency and company code currency. The controlling area currency differs from the company code currency. If I set the profit center local currency type 20 (controlling area currency), can I obtain Profit Center standard Reports in the company code currency?  or I need to set the profit center local currency for type 90 (profit center currency) with the company code currency in order to obtain such reports?
    Thanks in advance.
    Gerardo.

    Hi,
You can take currency type 20 (Controlling Area Currency), and Company Code currency can be different. In PCA tables, the values are populated in Profit Center currency, Company Code currency as well as document currency.
If Company Code currency is EUR and Controlling Area and Profit Center currency are USD, you can get reports both in EUR and USD. Further if transaction currency is GBP you can get reports in GBP.
    Thanks
    Murali.

  • Transaction code: 9KE0  - Posting with Dummy profit center

    Hi All,
We have an issue with transation 9KE0, While posting any adjustment entries with single line item, system automaticaly creating second line item few times.  We were unable to find the reason why it is creating second line for few documents?
Our requirement is that those entries should have only one line item in transaction 9KE0. Most of the cases we were able to post the document with single line item.
We are using almost 100 co.codes for our client.
For ex:  if we post one entry in co.code 1000 through transaction 9KE0 with single item, system posting with one lineitem.
But some times for the same co.code with same parameters if we post one line item, second line item automatically creating with dummy profit center while posting.
Please let us know why the system is creating two line items.
    Awaiting for your replies.
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi,
We have further analyzed this issue and found that, whenever the amount in field(KSL -Amount in profit center local currency) is ZERO, System it is creating second line item with dummy profit center.
    ex:1
proft cenert        account         amount in co.code cur    amount in profit center local currency
    9999                    100000             - 0.13                                 00
    dummy                 100010               0.13                                 00
    ex:2
proft cenert        account         amount in co.code cur    amount in profit center local currency
    9999                    100000             - 3.13                                 1
we have verified the values in GLPCA table also... whenever the  tech field KSL-Amount in profit center local currency is zero system creating two line items.
Please suggest us is there a solution to stop the second line item even the amount in profit center local currency field (Tech name -KSL) is Zero
    Awaiting for your suggestions.

  • Tbb1 - changing profit center in FI document account

    Dear all,
i need to change the profit center and the movement type when i create the document account with transaction TBB1.
movement type: I CHANGED THE METHOD  ACCIT_RMVCT_EXIT IN INTERFACE IF_EX_TPM_ACCIF_TRAC And it is ok.
prctr : I created a new method in interface class but for changing interface i need a development key; is there something that i can do to change prctr or i need to change standard sap ?
    thanks a lot
    Elena

    Hi Elena,
Probably the class is doing its job OK but FI is not accepting the document because some field is missing. In most  SAP implementations I have seen, the profit center is not informed directly. Instead, you inform the cost center and the system determines the profit center automatically. Can you check if the cost center field is filled in the ACCIT structure when itu2019s sent to FI? Iu2019m thinking some information needed by the CO module in order to post to a profit center is missing.

  • Allocation of Business Partner to a profit center.

    Hi,
I had earlier posted a question on how to allocate a BP to a Profit center:
    Hi,
Is it possible to allocate a BP to one or more Profit centers when creating a BP Master in SAP;such that, on creation of a marketing document the Profit center is directly picked up instead of selecting it.
    Please comment.
    Regards,
The answer which solved it is :
Projects can be associated with a Business Partner in the Master data definition but not Profit Center.
Profit Center have associated distribution rules and are linked to G/L account or a transaction at the row level.
You could do this. Create a UDF in the BP Master to enter the profit Center information.
In the Sales Order Rows..in the Profit Center field create a Formatted Search to pull the Profit Center from the BP Master UDF
Example: Let us say your Profit Center User field on the BP Master is called U_PC
then your Formatted Search on the Marketing document would be
    SELECT T0.U_PC FROM dbo.OCRD T0 WHERE T0.CardCode = $http://$4.0.0
Set it to Auto Refresh on Item Code ....check Display Saved Values
If you want 2 Profit Centers on the BP Master and the user would select it in the Marketing document then let us presume your UDF's are U_PC1 and U_PC2,
    the FMS would be
    SELECT T0.U_PC1 FROM dbo.OCRD T0 WHERE T0.CardCode = $http://$4.0.0
    UNION ALL
    SELECT T0.U_PC2 FROM dbo.OCRD T0 WHERE T0.CardCode = $http://$4.0.0
    Suda
Now, since the BP has already been allocated to the profit center anytime a service type credit note is passed which links to a Liability or an "Other" Account type, the profit center still gets allocated.
Can I make any changes to the query such that only Sales or Expenditure account could be allocated to the BP, and any other account if tagged the entry is not tagged with a profit center.
This has become kindof critical for users who check the profit center report, which does not give hte correct figure because of the above issue.

  • Business area and profit center

plz can anyone explain me what is the diffrence between business area and profit center.

Business Area is a type of organizational unit structure, primarily used to facilitate external segment reporting across company codes, covering the company's main areas of operation. Business Areas run across company codes. The relationship is n:n. Business Area is part of FI.
Profit Center is also a type of organization unit structure, used for management/ internal controlling purposes. Dividing the company up into profit centers allows one to analyze areas of responsibility and to delegate responsibility to decentralized units, thus treating them as “companies within the company”. The profit centers also run across company codes. The relationship is n:n. Profit Center Accounting is part of Enterprise Controlling.
While it may look apprantly that both Business Area and Profit Center do the same kind of analysis and reporting, with in SAP internal architecture they are kept in different modules and different tables.
SAP Note 321190 provides the difference betwen Business Area and Profit Center, which you can get from SAP Service Market place.
SAP has maintained Business Area from 4.6B onwards, while there are enhancements happening in Profit Center side.

    Hi Julie,
    Thanks for your reply!
We have recently upgraded to 2005B PL43.
    Still it has not helped.
Secondly these report are regularly checked by our Sales manager's hence updating using DTW will be a cumbersome affair.
Is there some query which can update the fields correctly......
E.g. Can the following query be amended to get the correct result:
    DECLARE @Type nvarchar(1)
    SELECT @Type=T1.ActType FROM OACT T1 WHERE T1.AcctCode=$[$39.94.0]
    IF @Type='I'
