Hello Gurus
I Defined the Profit center group in KCH1 but i can not able to Define the standard hierarchy in KCH4 when i was define the standard hierarchy while system shows some message
This function is not allowed in the standard hierarchy
Message no. OH040
can anybody give the Valuable inputs my issue my client year ending process is going on

Hi,
Via KCH1 you create alternative profit centre groups. If you want to define standard hierarchy, you have to create it in KCH4 (or 0KE5).

I have to make changes in standard profit center hierarchy. Should I make the changes in IMG or Sap Easy access -screen? If I make changes in IMG, could you please tell me the right path where can I find it?
Another question, if some profit center is in the wrong place in stardard hierarchy and I want to transfer it to another place (under other node for example), how is this done? Should I delete this profit center first (I tried delete but it wasn't possible..) or can I just transfer the profit center?

Hi,
in the IMG you can maintain the profit center standard hierarchy via TA KCH4. The path is:
-> Controlling
-> Profit Center Accounting
   -> Master Data
    -> Maintain Standard Hierarchy
The transport of the profit center standard hierarchy is done via TA 0KEQ, (this is relevant for both KCH5N and KCH4).
IMG Path:
-> Controlling
-> Profit Center Accounting
-> Tools
   -> Transport Customizing Settings

Profit Center Standard Hierarchy in Production Server

Dear All
I have done Controlling Area Settings for Profit Centers via TCode: 0KE5. I have made Profit Center Standard Hierarchy in Development server. The same Standard hierarchy is available in Quality sever but it is unavaliable in Production server.
Please guide me.

Hi,
You should check if the transport with the relevant configuration has passed to Produciton. Anyway, you can create new one via 0KEQ transaction.

Change a profit center Standard Hierarchy

Hello,
How do i change a standard hierarchy for profit centers which is already assigned in 0kE5.
Currently there are no transaction data in the system.However the profit centers are already assigned to the standard hierarchy ABC.
We now want to change the standard hierarchy to DEF.
Is this possible?

Thanks for the Quick reply.
We did try using the transaction KCH4 and delete the profit centers/profit center groups assigned to it.
However we get the following message for the same:
This function is not allowed in the standard hierarchy
Message no. OH 040
Diagnosis
You are directly processing the standard hierarchy (cost centers, business processes). The following actions are invalid for individual values:
Inserting groups that already contain values
Removing/deleting groups that already contain values
You are processing the profit center standard hierarchy or any other alternative hierarchies that contain parts of the standard hierarchy. The following actions are then invalid for individual values:
Delete
Insert
Reassign (delete and insert)
Removing groups that already contain values
Inserting groups that already contain values
Procedure
Undo the change you wanted to make.
Hence we are unable to even remove the profit center groups within the group ABC.
Is there any other way?

How to read profit center standard hierarchy Remote

Dear all,
Could anybody please tell me how to read the standard hierachy of profit centers
using RFC module(s) for a certain controlling area?
I found lots of classes and modules in the standard dialogs but nothing remote enabled :-(.

It's due to the order of appearance; let's say you have the following:
Group1
Group11
Group111
Group112
Group12
Then, the table will show
Group1 0
Group11 1
Group111 2
Group112 2
Group12 1
So, the connection is defined: you know that Group 111 is assigned to Group11, because it's level is 2 and the first group above it with level 1 is Group11. The same is with values by the order of appearance as you know for each group the quantity of the values.

have a look @SETLEAF or SET* in se11 , u can get the Top Node by putting the Logic like this
ex: i am searching for Top Node of A3
select setname from setleaf where valfrom eq 'A3'.and for that selected setname u have to do one more
loop.
select setname from setleaf where valfrom eq 'A2'.
then only u will net Node A1.
this is a sample code only , dont check F2.
let me know if u want more inputs of Set Ids.

For CO data go to OKE6 transaction and create a change request.
For PCA, go to 0KEQ and do the same.

I have a requirement where i have profit center,profit center group and profit center group hierarchy.
profit center group and profit center group hierarchy are same?if they are same how to get them into BI.if they are not same how to get them into BI
im using two datasources 2lis_11_vaitm and 2lis_12_vcitm,how to connect the profit center group and profit center group hierarchy with the datasources,My dataflow is on top of these datasources there are two write optimised dso and on top of those w-o dso there are std dso and on top of the std dso there is a infocube.on infocube there is multiprovider

Hi Sivaram,
Profit Center would be an attribute of any object which is used in the 2lis datasources. maybe CO Order or WBS etc...from these objects Profit Center should be or could be made as navigational attribute.
Further you can load the master data and hierarchy from the datasource 0PROFIT_CTR_0106_HIER

Creation is not different.
IMG ==> Controlling ==> Profit Center Acocunting ==> Enterprise Organization ==>
Generate Enterprise Organization from Profit Center Standard Hierarchy
Generate Standard or Alternative Hierarchy from Enterprise Organization
In OKKP, activate components are, you will find alternative hierarchies.
Please read F1 help on the field in OKKP

Hi Venkat
You have to first assign the name of the Profit Center Standard Hierarchy in OKE5. Then come to KCH1 and create the standard hierarchy with the same name that you have given in OKE5. If it helps, plz assign points.

Profit center assignment to company code

Hi,
We have 1 controlling area & 3 company codes A, B & C. We are restructuring Cost Centers & Profit Centers for company code A. Out of the 3 company codes, B has no separate profit center standard hierarchy. The cost centers of B are currently assigned to profit centers of A.
Now that we are changing all the cost centers & profit centers of A, how do we deal with the cost centers of B which are assigned to the old profit centers of A?
If I try to change the master data of Profit centers of A to exclude the company code assignment of A & only have company code assignment of B so that the cost centers of B are the only ones assigned to old profit centers of A, system throws an error saying that :
Cost centers assigned to the profit center are contained in the company code in question.
Procedure:
    Remove the existing assignment between Cost center **** and profit
    center ***. Note that other assignments might exist, which you will
    also have to remove before you can delete the profit center. For an overview of all existing assignments, use the assignment monitor.
Is there any other solution to this? Can the Profit center assignment to company code be time-dependant?
Or will we have to keep the old profit centers of A unlocked for cost centers of B & use some validations to prevent posting of Compnay code A transactions to old cost/ profit centers.

Classical profit center Accounting in new GL

Dear Experts,
I am not aware about profit center configuration.We are planning to implement ECC-6.
Today i faced problem in dummy client during configuration,
What i did it- i have activated profit center at controlling area
2) then did setting in OKES- created dummy profit center,define profit center standard hierachy,profit center currency = controlling area currency and activated profit center accounting
3)Set Control Parameters for Actual Data- selected online transfer and line items
But i am not sure-I need to do all the setting in ECC-6 like creation of dummy profit center and activation of online transfer +line item tansfer.
Request you to guide me on configuration- Whether setting Of PCA will change in NEW GL or Not required in New GL.

1)i will not select profit center in controlling area
2)i will not create dummy profit center and not required online transfer and line item tick
3)Shall i need to define standard hierarchy and Profit center currency type for profit center under 0KES ?
need to do anything in 0kes (Maintain Controlling Area Settings for PCA)

ERROR in profit center group creation...

hai...i want to UPLOAD ALL THE LIST OF PROFIT CENTER DETAILS INTO SAP USING BDC SESSION METHOD..for that purpose i tried to create profit center using TCODE -KE51, but profit center group is not available in my system...i tried to create profit center group seperately using transaction KCH1 and assigned that number on profit center creation screen(KE51)..but i got the error..PROFIT CENTER GROUP 1 CANNOT BE USED HERE....how to solve this error.????may be is there any error in creation of profit center group hierarchy..???..

Thanks for the support, but I have already checked Ambiguity Check but there is no duplicae groups/profit centers are existed.
I tried the same through KCH2 and also path (profit center hierarchy maintenance), but the same error is existed. I have checked with different groups also. But any group it is throwing the same error.
Ex if i am giving group K123456 which is not existed. But the same error is throwing.
Can anybody please suggest is there any programe for correction ?
