Program data folder

I might have dropped this problem in the windows vista related questions.
I am pretty desperate to solve this problem. Is there any solution to this?
I have read through all previous questions asked and read through the answers, there is no solution found for my problem. When I initially installed the Kaspersky anti virus 2014 program on my laptop. Kaspersky was (as I tried to assess) constantly
preforming an update and storing all the data in this program data file located on c: drive right click, open and you can choose the program data file. This shows all the program files downloaded, I suppose. When you select Kaspersky it shows you all the stored
files which already has taken up 65 Gig of space on the hard drive. Accumulated in a few days.
What I need to know is, can I delete these files or will this harm the downloaded programs?
How does this influence the windows 7 operating system and registry?
Is there perhaps a virus hidden in the works that the antivirus program is not detecting?
Just for info I have already contacted Kaspersky on this matter and they replied suggesting to disable reporting and quarantine in the setting which have proved fruitless.
I have two pictures of the program data file for further viewing if requested.
Your help will be appreciated.

Do not expect we could resolve Kaspersky failed support. Try to continue with Karpersky support. Unless you do a deep analysis with Process Monitor and Process Explorer (Sysinternals) you will notfind the cause of problems.
If you have any material to share, place it on OneDrive and configure public share.

  • How to refer the Program Data directory in Win 7 through Flex?

    Hi All..!
I have a requirement, in which I have to store some files in the Program Data directory in Win 7... What I can't find is, how to get the path to this directory through Flex. I was hoping to find something similar to the File.userDirectory.resolvePath method... So far, nothing.. Also, I needed to know what is the equivalent folder of Program Data on Mac... Please help..
    Thanks..!!

Create a servlet which gets an InputStream of the file and writes it to the OutputStream of the response and call this servlet in `src` attribute. That's basically all.
Here's an example which covers the most of the minimum needs: [http://balusc.blogspot.com/2007/04/imageservlet.html].

  • Update data folder in Palm Desktop 6.2.2

I've got an installation of Palm Desktop where my data files are kept in a non-standard location on a different hard drive. This helps keep the important address and datebook stuff separate from my primary file system. Sometimes Palm Desktop loses track of what I'm trying to do and appears to wipe all the data out. Upon closer inspection, I found that it had created a new database on:
    C:\Palm OS Desltop\
naughty naughty , because it should be in My Documents (on a different hard drive, the J:drive) which should be:
    J:\my docs\Palm OS Desktop
You can tell your Palm Desktop to go to the correct place by:
    1. shut down Palm Desktop
    2. shut down the HotSync Manager (right click on the task bar icon and hit 'Exit')
    3. run regedit (start> run> type in "regedit", hit enter
    4. navigate inside regedit to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\U.S. Robotics\Pilot Desktop\Core
    5. modify the "Path" from "\Palm OS Desktop" to "J:\my docs\Palm OS Desktop", with out the quotes
    6. restart HotSync Manager, run Palm desktop, and you should be good to go.
A little note: the program regedit is not for the feint of heart. You are modifying some pretty obscure, but important, data that the software on your computer uses for behind the scenes stuff. Be very careful when making changes to Registry using regedit. If you screw this up, you could find yourself in a tricky situation.

    Post relates to: Centro (AT&T)

Hello. I know I'm responding to an old post, but I want to refer to the procedure outlined here.
Before sending my laptop in for repair I removed my Palm Desktop data folder for security reasons. It was in a non-standard place (D:\Palm\Palm Desktop). Now, with my laptop back, I can't get the Desktop or Hotsync to recognize this path. I tried the regedit you suggested, but my path is still not recognized. Desktop creates C:\Users\Bob\Documents\Palm OS Desktop instead.
This is maddening because I know I did this successfully when I bought the machine 3 years ago.
    Any ideas? Thanks.

  • Can't create directory c:\Program Data\Apple Computer\iTunes

While installing iTunes, get message "can't create directory c:\Program Data\Apple Computer\iTunes.  After that, it uninstalls itunes and I'm back to square one.  What can I do or what could be causing this?

First I think you'll find it is ProgramData without a space. Check for an existing iTunes folder at that location and rename it to Not iTunes. Try again.

  • Encrypted Profile Migration from XP to Windows 7 (Windows & Program Files Folder not Available)

I'm trying to migrate a few encrypted profiles from Windows XP to Windows 7
I have a disk without "Windows" and "Program Files" Folder with the userprofiles without a backup of recovery agent and related certificates.
By USMT or in another way it is possible a deployment and recovery (also partial) of these userprofiles folders? These data can be accessible in some way or there are lost forevar?
During USMT deployment by scanstate/loadstate cmdline tools: I used to be specify a KeyString
after the switch command "/encrypt /efs:". I can blank "/efs:" argument during USMT Deployment?
    Thank you.

Sadly, without a backup of encrypted userprofiles, related data are unusable after scanstate phase.
    Anyway, what
     Hetti
Arachchige V Aravinda had written is very important to know when you copy or move ecrypted folder and files in a different partition or in a another disk.
    Thanks Hetti

  • The Application Data folder for Visual Studio could not be created

Hi! My laptop was working fine but someone recently installed Malware Bytes to my laptop and supposedly found 4 problems and "fixed" them afterwards Visual Studio Professional 2013 and Chrome stopped launching. When I realized this happened I uninstalled
Malwarebytes but it was too late. Every time I tried launching Visual Studio I would get a message that said something like: "Two or more components could not be found. Please reinstall". I did a "fix" on Visual Studio but this solved nothing
only changed the message, the new message was "The Application Data folder for Visual Studio could not be created" so I uninstalled the program and all the extras I found on my Control Panel. Downloaded Visual Studio Community 2013 I'm trying to
install it but I got the same exact message again. Why is this happening? What does it mean? Before I uninstalled Visual Studio Professional 2013 I looked for ways others solved it but nothing seemed to work. Please help. Thanks!

    Hello Danny,
The Malware Bytes may have already modified some files/registry values/environment variable which is used by Visual Studio and may be the setup cannot create it for you again.
Please try the workaround here in this blog:http://tutewall.com/application-data-folder-for-visual-studio-could-not-be-created/ and remember to backup your
registry key before you do any actions to the registry table.

  • Iphoto data folder different than originals and modified

Some of the thumbnails in my Iphoto library have no picture file linked to them.
I played with some pictures which were brought onto my computer from a camera with the time poorly set up. In doing so, some of the pictures in the data folder cannot be found in Iphoto. They are all there when I search through the originals and modified folders. It seems I may be able to replace contents of the data folder with contents from the orig/mod folders, seeing as all of the data is on an external drive.
I routed Iphoto to use the backed up library as its source. All seems well, except for the folder issue. Is there and easy solution?

I moved a bunch of folders around to open up space on my meager 80g HD Macbook so I could up grade to SL and not risk loosing any data. I moved the iphoto library to the external HD. I may have updated a previous back up and not changed the Data folder in the process. I think I updated the original and modified folders only into the HD's previous iphoto backup. The only folders I moved out of the original Iphoto folder in "pictures" were the modified and original folders because they were the largest files. The data folder and all others remain unchanged.
Once SL was up and running smoothly, I opened Iphoto with the option button pressed and chose the program to read the pics from the Iphoto library on the external drive.
Interestinly, When I did the same thing with my Itunes library it took about 20 minutes to load the library, in contrast, Iphoto was instant. Like it was reading the data folder within the computers HD and searching for the picture in the external. Movie clips seem to not be working at all. They don't seem to open QT automatically, or even work when it's open.

  • IPhoto data folder gone, threw it out by mistake

I threw out the data folder called 2005 by mistake and when I emptied the trash my iPhoto stopped working, i.e. there are no pictures showing up when I open it. Can I reload the program from the software discs that came with my Mac mini, and if so how should I do it?

    Liam,
Let's try creating anew library and see what photos you can get back.
    Close iPhoto
Rename your messed up iPhoto Library to "iPhoto Library_old"
Drag this library to your desktop
Hold down the Option key and launch iPhoto
This is the window you will get
Create a new library or choose a library to open
Choose to create a new library
Once this new empty library is open it is time to import the images from your old library
    Go to File>add to library
Navigate to the old library on your desktop and highlight it in the window, then click the "open" button.
iPhoto will start importing the images from your old library
    This is what to expect:
Your images will be imported in nice dated rolls. (make sure your view is set to sort by rolls to see it) There are a couple of caveats to this. You will get rolls named "Originals" These rolls will contain your video clips and your original images that you had edited. If you had RAW files they would be in those rolls too (I don't do RAW, so I don't know for sure) Delete what you don't want from those rolls. You will also get the jpeg pointer files to your video clips imported. They will just be jpegs and will not point to the video clips anymore as iPhoto made new ones when the clips were imported again. You can delete those. they should be in a roll right next to the newly imported video clips so they are not hard to find. The thumbnail files don't get imported as iPhoto makes new ones when the images are imported.
Once all you images have been imported, check through the library and make sure everything looks ok.
You can now start making your Albums, and do your keywords or any other organizational steps.
You can also delete the old library on the desktop.
It is also a good time to backup this new library to CD/DVD by burning the iPhoto LIbrary folder in the Finder, or copying the iPhoto Library folder to an external drive formatted for Macs, or copying the iPhoto LIbrary folder to an iPod.
    Good luck!

  • Is it possible to hide the LabView Data folder through the labview application?

I really want to get rid of the LabView Data folder in the My Documents Folder that is created when the built labview application is run. Since it does not seem to be possible to remove or relocate it, i was wondering whether it is possible to at least hide it - but I want it to be done automatically, i.e. through the program itself when it is executed.
    Thanks
    Tim, Van

    Hi,
you cannot delete the "LabVIEW Data" Folder since your application is active!
It's possible that you change the attribute (hide) for the whole folder before you start the compile process!
If you want to do this automatically, you should ask microsoft which dll is relevant for this scope!

  • I have CC and use the Audition app... Can I uninstall it an re-install it to change the program directory folder?

( I need to put it on a faster drive )

    Thanks Mylenium and Jeff.
I only see that the Cleaner Tool only removes the program...there is no option for repair or changes. Is it supposed to be in DOS? There is only an option for English (e) and then Yes (y) to remove the product and that's all. I did that and it also took CC Desktop away. I gave up on changing the directory (it was only to see how another drive performed).
I still can't find an answer anywhere on how to add my AA 3.0 effects presets to CC. I don't know how to get help other than to wait for an answer on the forum. Is that the only way to get instructions for procedures like that? (other than tutorials on program use). I can't do any recording because I can't find "how-to" procedures anywhere, so consequently, I spend hours trying things myself,to no avail. So frustrating. For example, I tried to add effects XML files from AA 3.0 to the Adobe Audition CC App Data folder and now it's all messed up! I'm going to have to uninstall it and install it again. Is there any restriction on how many times  uninstall and install apps? Thanks in advance for any help. I'm really in the dark with this cloud thing!!!!

  • Data folder can not be opened in finding " AirPort Time Capsule " The operation can not be completed because the original item for " data" does not exist .

    Hi
I have a " AirPort Time Capsule " (firmware 7.7.3) When I try to open the data folder in "finder". Then I got the message  " The operation can not be completed because the original item for " data" does not exist". I have a lot of data and I can understand why I get this message?
    Anyone who can help? Thanks..
    Br. Bo

Get a USB drive of 2TB or more.. assuming your TC is 2TB. Either preformatted Mac or plug into your Mac and format it standard Mac OS Extended Journaled in disk utility.
Do a full archive of the TC. You do this using airport utility. Do not click the erase disk.. I marked in green.. just the archive.. that is to backup the internal disk to the USB disk. It is not fast.. take it that the process will go at around 40-50GB/hr.
Once you complete the archive .. it is a direct image of the data on your TC.. you can then plug it into your computer directly.. and then try and open the files you lost.. if you cannot open them.. open disk utility and fix the permissions.
    http://osxdaily.com/2015/01/13/repair-disk-permissions-mac-os-x/
Or try the methods apple recommends..
OS X Yosemite: Set permissions for items on your Mac
It is possible to fix things on the USB drive because it is locally mounted.. but you cannot fix it on TC which is network drive.

  • I have lost pictures in iPhoto, but I can see them in the data folder, except they are only thumbnail size.  They will not open at regular size and are showing unreadable in the "originals" folder.  I've rebuilt and nothing is restoring these pics.

I have lost pictures in my iPhoto.  We moved my iPhoto to a external hard drive and I believe since then, I have random pics missing.  Some pics will show up in the "photos" and some show with a title and a blank picture.  When I click on "package contents" in iPhoto, I have found the "Originals" folder where all the pics are pulling from and the file is there but won't open.  However, in the DataXML folder under package contents, I can open the file but it is much smaller (supposed to be 1 MG, but showing in the data folder as 63kb).  How can I get these pics restored in the Originals folder?  I've rebuilt the library several times and I just ran the iPhoto Library Manager and it won't pull from the data file.  Help!!

Make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
    Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

How can I force Time Machine to make a complete backup of my Hard Drive.  I just installed a new external drive for Backup since my previous one failed.  Now when I back up, Time Machine only backs up my data folder and the Users folder.
When I start a backup. Time Machine says "Oldest Backup: None; Latest Backup: None", so it seems like it should do a complete backup, but it only does a partial.
