Program Errors with Photoshop since loading Mavericks

Ever since I loaded Mavericks I can not open or save files in Photoshop. I keep getting a program error. Photo shop does can not recognize my folders and just "blinks" and does nothing. I can not go to file open and open a file. I can not save to folders. All I can do is drag what I want to open on to the Photoshop icon. It will open then, but I can't save it to any folder.
So far Mavericks is not worth the upgrade.

I had this problem too. Spent 8 hours (i'm stubborn) uninstalling and reinstalling Photoshop 5.1. Nothing worked.
I tried the update Java that was touted on another Apple forum. Still got the same error.
Grrr...
I posted my problem on Adobe's help forum with the log file, and was told it is a problem with the OS.
I did a Time Machine back up, plus a full copy of my hard drive to an external drive, and ran the Maverick reinstall per Apple Support directions.

After the reinstall, the Java update screen splashed and I ran the update. This time Java worked, and Photoshop opened. Although, Adobe swore the Java update is bogus, because Photoshop doesn't use Java (duh, I know). But other Adobe programs that run on the web do, and there is where I believe the bug lies festering.
Anyway. Reinstall Maverick and see if Photoshop will finally work for you.

Since I updated my photoshop version to CC I am getting all kinds of program errors.
It is happening when:
I try and add a shape
Change the active colour in the tools
Use a pattern

Problems with Mail since loading "Maverick"

Mail keeps asking me for my password, also I noticed that in Mail / Preference on iCloud Account, the password is empty. When I type my normal password and save it, and then return to Accounts the password has not been saved and is blank again. I assume this is why it keeps asking me for my password. How do I get my password to Save in Preference??

If it is your iCloud mail which is asking, try to logout your iCloud account, and login again.

I get "Could not initialize Photoshop because of a program error" with PS CC 2014 on a 2099 Macbook Pro running Mavericks. Then the program closes. Can anyone help?

Could be corrupt preferences, a problem with the OS font cache, or some other problem with the OS.
First, try resetting the preferences.

Thanks for the question, and what a great question it is!
With time zone support on, you can edit an individual event and change the time zone for that event. This list will include options for your default time zones, UTC, and "floating" - the latter of which is what you are looking for. Floating changes the event to occur at the specified time, local time.

Sounds like it did not install correctly. Uninstall, then reinstall. If that does not help, use the Adobe CC cleaner. It will remove all traces of your Adobe programs. Then do a normal install. If it still is not working, let us know.

It came to my attention there a new program working with itune since last update named Apsdaemon.exe its been using 99% of my processor when its active any idea why so much and will it be fix eventually? And why is it so Heavy consuming ?

Now when that aplication or extention from Itune is working my computor froze to a huge alt. I play video games online and love listening to my music with itune playing in the background and normally was able to have firefox open and a program called ventrillo all working at the same time and now i can barelly have itune and play a game. As soon it start been choppy i just control alt delete wait 5 minute to close down apsdaemon.exe when i'm capable most of the time i have to restart my computor. And why is it so Heavy consuming on the process its memory utility is under the 100ko i believe so why 99% of my processus is been use ?
a good exemple i could give is itune.exe working it shows process 02% for 123 000ko that is light and perfect.

Not enough Ram memory and cannot save due to a program error in photoshop cs6

Hi, I'm currently a beginner at photoshop cs6, and I've been using it since december last year, mostly to draw stuff and it has worked fine with few to no errors at all.
However, recently when I've been drawing, the same message keeps popping up over and over again "Can't use (tool) due to the computer not having enough ram" followed by either "cannot save due to program error" or, it just simply crashes.
This is obviously a something that worries me A LOT since at first, I thought that it was just a small error, but recently, it's been like this for several day s and I've been forced to re-start the computer (and photoshop) countless times... It really slows down my working progress and is VERY annoying to deal with.
As a beginner though, I don't really know how to fix this. I've been trying to look up some answers on this site, but I've just not found any answer yet...
I'm currently using photoshop cs6 that's up to date and I've got lots of memory left on my computer, so, I'm wondering. What exactly is the cause of this problem, and how can I fix it? Please answer as fast as you can.. I'm getting a bit desperate...
Oh, in case you're wondering, they're all saved as PSD files and every single one of them has about 15+ layers on them.

It would help if you could list a few things:
1. Your operating system
2. How much physical RAM do you actually have in your machine?
3. Under Preferences > Performance, have you allocated "Scratch Disk(s)"?
4. Also under Preferences > Performance > Memory Usage, what is the "Ideal Range" listed there, and what % is "Let Photoshop Use"?

Slow response times since loading Mavericks

I have a late 2008 13" Macbook Processor 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo / Processor 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo / Graphics NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB. Since downloading Mavericks it has become increasingly 'chuggy' and slow to load applications. What can I do to speed it up. I generally have only one or two applications open at any one time as having more than that will freeze the laptop.
Of the 160gig hard drive I have 32 gig free.
Any thoughts in how I can get some speed back and allow me to have more than two apps open?

There can be several things that will slow down a Mac after any OS upgrade.
- Incompatible software additions that were compatible with the previous OS.
- The upgrade revealed corruption on the disk.
- Misc. other causes.
A good start is to boot in Safe Mode.http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1564
This will check and repair the disk and disables 3rd-party additions.
Does it run faster in Safe Mode?
Restart.
Does it run faster after booting in Safe Mode?
A second check is to download and run Etrecheck and then post the results.

Another simple action is to check and repair the disk and then reinstall the OS over itself.

When in Disk Utility you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of your internal hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or has failed and needs to be replaced. If it is “Verified” then run and re-run Repair Disk until it reports it fixed no errors and it finished normally. If it continues to report errors proceed to the fsck section.
Boot normally and see if the system is healthy.
You might want to wait for the 3rd-party software check trajectory before reinstalling the OS, just because is it a lot of work. It won’t hurt if you have time while you wait.
- Reinstall OS X.
If the disk is healthy and your system is not, reinstall OS X.

Program error message - Photoshop CS4 for Mac

I started to get the message "Could not complete your request because of a program error" a little while back, but it would go away after restarting photoshop, so I wasn't too worried about it. But now I've encountered this one file that won't let me do anything to it. As soon as I open it it pops up with the error message. No amount of clicking makes it go away, and I have to force quit photoshop. Always the same thing. I read up a little about how to fix it but I haven't found anything that works (I tried the file info>copyright idea and deleting Photoshop's preferences, even getting rid of extra fonts, and clearing the library>cache.) Any ideas? I'm not sure what to do!
More info:
It's a psd file.
There are only 2 layers on the files, one is a vector smart image.
I opened the file and was able to edit it fine on a friend's computer, no error messages whatsoever - so it's not a corrupt file. (But that doesn't solve my computer's dilemma.)

I have this same problem. I use Font Agent Pro and I only have about 50-ish foundry fonts activated. I'm wondering if anyone else has found a fix? The second I open Photoshop I get an error message and I have to force quit, let's not even begin thinking about opening a file.
I'm on OSX 10.6.8, running CS4. This is getting frustrating. I'm considering reinstalling the whole suite, there goes my entire evening.

Eye Dropper error with Photoshop CC 2014

On my work computer I am experiencing a "Program Error" when trying to use the eye dropper to sample a colour.
My home computer has no problem.
I un-installed and re-installed the program with no positive result.

Two suggestions:
Reset the tool or all the tools by right-clicking or ctrl-clicking on the icon to bring up the menu.
Reset your Preferences by holding down cmd-opt-shift and starting Photoshop to get the reset dialog.

Getting a program error while Photoshop CS3 is running.

I am running Photoshop Version 10.0.1 on a Mac Pro desktop running OS X Version 10.5.8. It is usually running as I normally do not quit the application. When I bring the Mac out of screen saver mode I have been getting notifications that it cannot perform a certain request because of a program error. I do not have any file open in Photoshop. How do I get the messages to stop?

Yeah, it's a MacOS bug in the screensaver code. Apple thinks they fixed the bug in MacOS 10.6, and I believe we worked around it in Photoshop CS4. In CS3 and 10.5.x, there's not much you can do.
