Program keeps blocking signing in to email. Can sign in through web

Thunderbird was working perfectly. Suddenly I started getting messages that there was unauthorized use. Then it kept blocking me from signing in even though I went to google and changed the password 2x. I still can't get email to one account that I have on a PC and a Mac. The program keeps asking me for a password and then tells me to go to the web for that account. I can log in to the gmail account just fine on the web with the new password. The gmail notices of password changes keep going to my recovery email. I have done a complete scan of the computer and hopefully cleaned anything bad off of it. I have listed my personal email on this request as I am unable to access the one in question at this time. Thank you.

    What you used to sign up was a Microsoft account, which will automatically create a Microsoft technical ID that will allow you to sign in to Skype. Microsoft technical ID uses the Microsoft email address to sign in and will have a (live: ) on the beginning of the Skype name.

  • Username and Password are correct and Thunderbird says they are incorrect. I can access mail through web client.

    I have made sure email credentials are correct on the Mail Server. I can access mail through a web client using the email credentials I am inputting however Thunderbird will not let me configure the account saying the username and password might be incorrect.

    Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.

    I have always used Firefox and for web browsing and accessing my email account. During the last 2 days I upgraded my email home page and had to sign on again.

    From your description that sounds like absolutely nothing happens, nothing moves I'd guess Adblock Plus extension might be blocking something, try disabling ADP at its toolbar icon, if you have the extension.
    If you are not saving cookies for google.com you could have problems with cookies which would be the next thing to check out.
    If you bring up http://www.google.com do things work, and do you really need to sign in to use Google at all -- just want to make sure it is really the sign-in.

  • I have to always sign into my email when I click the stay signed in button, how can I overcome this issue?

    I installed email notifier, which puts an envelope down in the lower right hand corner (along with the date, etc.) and then all I had to do was click on that and it would take me to my in box. Recently, I have to log in each time I want to open my email, even though I tell to keep me signed in. How can I correct this and go back to what it was.

    I too would like to know why this is? It seems to have been only the last few months where I have this issue.

    I upgraded to 2 -  i4 phones with 2 different phone numbers.  I can sign on to iCloud on 1 phone but never on the other.  I have changed my my password twice but no matter what I do, I still have the same problem.  I keep getting a message "Verification Failed The request timed out"  no matter how many times I try to sign on it always times out.  Before I upgraded to the i4, I had a i3GS and had the same exact problem.  Does anyone have any ideas???

    Firstly, go to http://iforgot.apple.com and sign in with the ID you use for iCloud. A new password will be sent to your associated email address.
    If that doesn't work, for example because it's going to an address you can't access, then you will have to contact Support. Go to https://expresslane.apple.com ; click 'See all products and services' at the bottom of the page. In the next page click 'More Products and Services, then 'Apple ID'. In the next page select 'Other Apple ID Topics' then 'Lost or forgotten Apple ID password' and click 'Continue'.

    Skip the iCloud sign in for now.
    Once you reach the home page, go to settings and sign out of FaceTime and Messages.  This should also sign you out of iCloud.
    Go to iCloud in settings and sign in with the correct Apple ID.
    If that does not work
    Skip the iCloud sign in
    Go to Apple ID.apple.com and sign in
    Change your Apple ID to the old one
    Delete iCloud account on your device with the old Apple ID and the same password.
    Go back to the website, change your Apple ID back to the current one. You will receive an email to verify the account. Verify first.

    If a person is using your email address, you should change your email password and make sure there aren't any forwards to some strange email address.
    An example if you were using gmail, under account settings, a forward can be set up to send messages to another email address.
    If your email address is say, you own domain, such as somename@somename dot com, make sure the forwards are forwards you set up.
    If your email account was hacked and the bad guy has access, you need to cut him off, first by changing the password and second cut off any message forwarding to the bad guy if he set it up.  Just changing the password would keep a bad guy out, but if the bad guy set up a forward, he will still get your email.
    A confirmation from Apple would have come to your email address in order to confirm that Apple ID.  If you are getting the other person's purchase notifications, you would have gotten a confirmation of that account from Apple.

    If there are multiple apps trying to download at once, only one can download at a time and the rest say "Waiting" until it is then their turn. Try this. Double tap the icon of the Waiting app, and it should resume the download.
    If that doesn't work:
    •  Log out of your iTunes store account.  Go to Settings > Store > Sign Out Then press the Home button.
    • Then press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously and don't release them when it brings up the Turn Off screen; keep holding them until the Apple logo appears.
    • After restart, the Waiting should be gone.

    Same here on my lpad2. Can access the web just fine from browsers but cannot install new apps or updates in appl store.  Seeing a few others reporting same issue tonight so likely an apple server issue and staff will notice it in network monitors and fix it...sometime this weekend.

    Might be a cookies and cache issue ...
    From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab.
    Click:  Remove All Website Data
    Now empty the cache.
    Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
    Type or copy paste the following:
    ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
    Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
    Quit and relaunch Safari. Login to your Comcast account.
    In case you are not aware, you can avoid having to use Safari to access your Comast email account by setting up your account via Mac Mail.
