Hi All,
I want to ask about how *"oracle project management module"* tackles the program management, in terms of:
1- projects that are linked to the program?
2- Program management: linking projects to program to achieve the overall goal of the program, is that the meaning of program management in oracle?
3- what is the criteria for linking projects to tasks in a program? how to decide that I want to link Project B with task A.1 in project A??

If projects share project currency and workplan time phase settings then only can be linked to program.
When you publish a workplan version for linked project, Oracle project management automatically runs the PRC: Process Structure Updates concurrent program. This concurrent program rolls up information from the linked projects to the current working version of the program.

9.2.0 Upgrade (CPSID_50026) "Files in Use" - "Some files that need to be updated are currently in use" "Program Manager"

I have no other applications open, when I try to update with 9.2.0, but I receive subject error message. Task Manager shows NO Image Name called "Program Manager". There is nothing else running, that is obvious to shut down. Any suggestions, Please?

Have these posted suggestions worked for anyone? I have been using the same installation files on several different machines. Most machines upgrade just fine but, I have a few that receive this error and I cannot seem to get past it: "Some files that need to be updated are currently in use" "Program Manager" is the program that the installer is complaining about. Does anyone know what program "Program Manager" is? I'm assuming it is an Adobe file but, why would it interfere with one of my installations and not all of them?
I'm using the same installation files for all installs so, I don't believe that it could be my downloaded installation setup files.

How can i link the CRMC_OPPIMPOR_T, CRMC_SOURCE_T and CRMC_PHASE_T to CRMD_OPPORT_H tables? i need this urgently. i try to link the CRMC_OPPIMPOR_T.IMPORTANCE -> CRMD_OPPORT_H.IMPORTANCE, it works only if the CRMD_OPPORT_H.IMPORTANCE contain value, if CRMD_OPPORT_H.IMPORTANCE = " ". Then it did not return me the whole roles of values once i put the CRMC_OPPIMPOR_T.IMPORTANCE into my report. If i take it off, my report is back to normal.

Vista: use the windows program manager to execute operating system commands

attempting to run forms 6 on vista... the forms app attempts a call sqlplus using the host builtin to populate some tables before calling the report.
in windows vista i get a message box indicating "use the windows program manager to execute operating system commands".
is this windwos vista message? would this have to do with permissions?
any insight most appreciated and thanks in advance.

I think,, with the current approach you will get problems at least when you have to migrate to Web (e.g. Forms 10g).

IP/TV "Could not create RTSP connection with Program manager"

Hello,
When we try to view IP/TV content with the IP/TV viewer we are able to but when we try to view it through a webpage I recieve the error:
"Could not create RTSP connection with Program manager"
I have no idea what the problem is. Anyone have any input?
Please see the attached image.

The client, program manager and ip tvserver are all on the same local area network

IPTV, ACNS 5.1 and Program Manager

I am installing an IPTV solution which will be integrated with ACNS v5.1. I have a CE-565 that I have change its device mode to Program Manager. Under versions 3.5 and earlier, Content managers ran on a Windows platform and therefore I was able to access the Apache directory. Under 5.1 running on a 565, how can I access the Apache directory? Is it possible?

There is no support for this kind of user access in ACNS 5.1.

Uninstalling itunes using another avenue than program manager remover

does anyone know how to unistall itunes from an external harddrive? The directions to unistall itunes says to use the program removal from the control panel. THat program manager only works for my laptop, not my external harddrive....
I posted before but have problems with itunes now that i have a new harddrive and windows had to be reinstalled. I kept itunes on my external harddrive and it wants me to unistall and reinstall....

iTunes eventually became unresponsive (though it still played music, I couldn't bring it up with the toolbar icon). I quit and restarted and it's back down to 37,944K, but still...

Import .sdp files into IPTV Program Manager v5.x

I have been able to import individual Session Descriptor files into IPTV Program Manager v3.x and have the program display on the viewers program list. Has anyone been able to import .sdp files into v5.x of the PM?

How turn off program manager to install 10.1.4 reader?

When I try to install Adobe Reader 10.1.4, it says it will change files being used by a running file entitled Program Manager and to turn it off, but I don't know how to turn off Program Manager or even how to find it. Can you please help?

No, I can't get an error message, just a box stating that Program Manager needs to be turned off to continue with installation.

Investment program management

Currently my company's configuration of SAP handles investment programs in the following way:
- All investment program are managed within the same investment year. In doing so, the entire investment program remains open until the last project is closed. (N investment programs, 1 time period)
The plan is to manage each project within its own investment year. (1 investment program, 1 time period). In this formulae, the investment program contains the suprlusses of previous years as well as new budget allocations).
What are the advantages of the proposed plan? How would this impact corporate functions like Administration, Asset Controlling, Engineering etc. ??

I am afraid your question is not clear enough. Please try to rephrase it and maybe giving any specific examples might also help.
Investment programs do not need any start or end dates, they are endless under business continuity principle. You can have for example one for CAPEX and one for OPEX (it does not really matter that they called "Investment", at the end this is the tool for budget/program management) per country.

Peoplesoft Enterprise Program Management Download

Hi,
I'm looking at assessing the Program Management application from Peoplesoft, but I can't seem to find the download anywhere.
I am assuming its like normal Oracle downloads in the sense that you can trial the software. Are there specific downloads for this?
Could anyone point me towards any other requirements for the application, such as Oracle 10G database and if it comes with example projects built in.

Program ManagementProgram Management is a part of FSCM application. As previously suggested, you can find all the downloadable software on http://edelivery.oracle.com
Download from there all the required components (Tuxedo, Weblogic/Websphere, PeopleTools, FSCM application), install them, and build a DMO database to get samples.
Of course, you'll need a database software previously installed.

We are currently implementing an E-Governance solution for a municipal corporation, in SAP. Our licenses include ECC 6.0 and SAP CRM 2007. Additionally, we have purchased a single component of SAP for Public Sector, namely Program Management for Public Sector, which is enabled by SAP CRM.
We have tried extensively to find out detailed information about this solution (Program Management for Public Sector), however besides a few lines of general information, not much else is available publicly.
We request to provide us information on how to activate Program Management for Public Sector, and if possible to guide us on where to obtain valid documentation.
Any asistance in this regard wil be much appreciated.

Hi, All!
Is there any P6 Project Management user that implemented any solution to manage Program?
Program means: “A group of related projects managed in a coordinated way to obtain benefits and control not available from managing them individually.” Programs may include elements of related work outside the scope of the discrete projects in a program (e.g. ongoing operations such as maintenance or research). Programs are a means of achieving organisational objectives and realising benefits, often in the context of a strategic plan."

Think of a portfolio as a group of projects that have something in common, that's all. That "something common" could be something as simple as "projects I am personally working on" or "projects involving xyz resource" or "projects that have the letter R in their name" or "projects that began on a full-moon night" or "projects that belong to this program" etc.
A Program on the other hand is something like what you were talking about, like what Greg is talking about - a group of projects managed as a whole instead of individually, with an overarching project that spans across all the other projects in terms of issues or risks or costs etc.
As far as the EPS goes, Greg's suggestion was simply to put all these under a separate EPS so that it is easy to summarise and roll-up information. The purpose of an EPS is to do top-down budgeting, analysis, implement common coding structures and also to implement security and access rights (in conjunction withe the OBS).

Program Manager

I am trying to write a distributed programming framework for Java - I suppose it is really P2P although nobody can seem to decide what exactly P2P is!
So far I have made a few design decisions that need to be checked and raise a few questions that need answering before i proceed.
I will have a main program running on every node in the dist/P2P network. This will do all the communication stuff. The main program will also be responsible for managing services on that node. For example I will have a computing service (think SETI et all).
Now the first problem. Say this node is capable of hosting an arbitrary service (either transmitted to it or run by the user). I do not want to have to recompile the whole damn thing to incorporate this service thereby interrupting the program.
What are my options:-
a) If a class file is placed into the corrrect directory and extends runnable and I am aware of the name of the class is it possible to run it and then add it to the thread manager.
b)????
Any problems with my above hopeful idea. Obvioulsy any other ideas and advice on any aspect will be greatly apreciated.

Do a search on "dynamic class loading". This topic has been discussed here many times before.
The basic principle is to use class loaders (usually java.net.URLClassLoader) to load the classes (and later let them be garbage collected if needed).
