Program to be tested in Quality client

Hi
Testing your development programs in quality systems without transporting them physically.
Plz provide pointer for the same. An approach how to create that instance in Qc will also be appreciated.

Hi!
The following requirements are needed for this in the quality system:
- your user have to be registered as a developer
- you have to open up the quality system for developing, with SCC4 transaction
- you must have rights to SE38
If these requirements are available, then you can modify any programs in the quality system also.
However it's much more easy to transport the program and if the program requires correction, just create an another transport again.

Program giving syntax error in Production client

Hi Experts,
            I have moved an object into testing client its working fine there,but when it was moved from testing to production client.
            they are getting the error as "program ZSIOPCN contains syntax errors", when they are trying to create a variant in SE80 for this program from menu goto-->variants.
            Can anyone give any idea why this error comes, when the program is working fine in Quality client. Please give me suggestions,why it may happen.

hi Rodrigo Paisante,
           i didn't understand the point "one or more objects wold be moved too", means moving the same object many times.
           we generally move the workbench requests in a sequence, in which they released. This transport sequence is follwed in the same sequence when moving from one client to another client.
           can you eloborate the solution and possible cause for this problem. i am getting message error DB: 242.

Having a program means you need a dev environment to compile, link and then test it with your instant client env.
I would suggest you download sqlplus ZIP and connect to a DB server.

UPS (the courier) to Test Apple Quality

Got the new MacBook Pro 17". I bought it for my girlfriend, but it's so **** pretty I'll keep it for myself. Forget Her... I think this MBP will be a great chick magnet. HaHa. Seriously, are the Apple designers targeting females? The packaging and the little white things look like makeup containers. (I just came from the macho/masochistic Windows/PC world.)
About UPS and other couriers testing Apple Quality (About my experiences receiving products shipped via Couriers):
When the UPS guy handed the MBP shipment to me, it had a fist-sized hole on the side of the brown box. I swore at the guy, then accepted it. Thankfully, when I opened the brown box, I found the real Apple box suspended within the brown box. Fantastic Idea! Apparently the hole in the box was punched with some quick force because there was a dent on the inner Apple box. I shudder to think how much acceleration the MBP was exposed to. The MBP is working fine so far, but thinking about what it went through during shipping really leaves a bad taste.
I had also received shipment of a Mac Pro a few weeks ago via UPS, and it hadn't fared any better, from the looks of the box.
The Airport Extreme Base Station, received separately, was no good out of the box. It was shipped in a 18"x18" box with no packing material! Have to blame Apple for that one.
My point is, Couriers: Is it a case of "we can't live with them and can't live without them"? I don't suppose there's anything Apple can do to improve the behavior of couriers? ****!

Just had this discussion yesterday with my wife. I've ordered two laptops (a Vaio and the new 17" MBP) in recent months and was not home for either arrival. Both shipped with FedEx. In both cases, my wife stayed home to sign for and safely store what was to have arrived by 10:30. In both cases, FedEx failed to show and miraculously had "truck problems" twice in a row delivering to our house! How perfectly odd, no? In both cases, they asked my wife to take the remainder of her day off from work while they sorted it out - just couldn't be bothered to come up with a delivery time and stick to it. Well, she have them **** this time around and they finally got it to her - but she didn't arrive to work until well after lunch. If she were properly compensated for her time, my MBP would have gotten a lot more affordable (not that it's Apple's fault or place to do the compensating but the problem here is that none of us are ultimately the couriers' clients so what can we get out of them other than dumb looks?).
But then I could go on about a domestic UPS shipment that once wound up in Germany and got stuck in Customs there (and coming back) because it never belonged out of the US and thus didn't have any int'l paperwork to go along with it. And my ability to earn a living was directly coupled to receipt of that package, thus I lost $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.
Yes, oh yes, they all suck dearly. Actually, DHL was fantastic but sadly they didn't survive the crunch here in the US...

Launchpad - ESS MENU - Descriptions not transporting to Quality client

Hello,
I have made some changes to the Launchpad role ESS, instance MENU. Our customization included some changes to the Link Text and Descriptions. I was able to translate the Link texts using APB_LPD_SHOW_TEXT_KEYS and transport them, however I am unable to get the Description (Customer Long Text) texts to transport. I'm not sure what step(s) I'm missing so could someone provide me with details on how to get this done?
Dev client
Quality client after translation and transport.
I've even attempted to force them into a transport using Program ID = LANG, Object type = DOCT, DOCV, using the keys seen in report APB_LPD_SHOW_TEXT_KEYS.

I'm a bit fuzzy on what your suggesting I do since I am unfamiliar with those transactions. I will cover it with our development team to see if it makes sense to them on what steps to do before I confirm.
Just as reference, I can see the text in the DOKTL in our Dev environment. If I pull up report APB_LPD_SHOW_TEXT_KEYS for ESS MENU I can see the Texts Keys and Text.
In our Q client, if I pull up the report, for ESS MENU, the Text keys are there, but the Text is not. Were the Text Key already there or did my transport put them there?
When you mention "activate the document *** in English in SE61" What do I put into the Name field? The Text key only gives me an error.

Test in business client, Desktop client disabled

Hi all,
I'm starting with NWBC 4.0,
I try to access some repository objects (se80) and when I try to test in business client the "Desktop Client" option is disabled.
How can I enable it? I have reviewed the services in SICF, but I'm not sure which has to be activated.

Hi Eduardo,
I have the same problem. However using the test in business client option isn't very helpful as you won't start the dynpro application with a configuration if you need that.
What i normally do is creating a test role that i assign to my user in PFCG. Then you can just reload the navigation tree to see the newly added entries.

Transformation pointing to Quality Client in Production System Repeatedly

Hi,
I need to understand one issue which is explained in detail below step by step.
1. I created one Customized Data Source(Full Load) and replicated in BW.
2. Also created Info Objects, DSO, Info Package, Transformation, DTP.
3. While transporting this modelling to Production(first time), i unknowingly/mistakenly missed capturing the datasource in Transport Request.Sequence of transport was -
Data Source
Info Area
Info Object Catalogue
Info Object
DSO
Cube & MP
Data Source
Transformation
Info Package & DTP
Now, the moment TR for transformation was transported it threw an error - "Data Source does not exist in Quality client". Then I transported the Data Source TR and after that re-transported the transformation TR production and this error was removed.
But, there were 2 transformations in production - 1) Pointing to Production, 2) Pointing to quality.
4. I request the basis team to delete the second transformation(pointing to quality) from BW production system.
5. After that we captured Data Source and transformation in same TR and transport was successful.
6. Now, after few days we transported a change to production for same object and the system again threw the same error mentioned in point no.3 above and created two transformations again.
How to resolve this issue permanently and I also want to know the reason of this type of system behavior.

I did that also - please read my step no.4.
We are able to delete the transformation which was referring to quality client and then captured D.S & transformation in a single TR and transport as successful.
Now, after few days I did one change in the same transformation and transported to production.
System Behavior:
Error - " No source exist (i.e.,system referred to quality in production)".
Also again transformation was visible in production which was referring to quality client(which we already deleted with the help of BASIS).
Now since again the transformation needs to be deleted from production, our basis team is telling us to they cannot delete objects every time in production.Thus,
1. Is there any option to solve this issue permanently?
2. Also is it necessary to transport data source along with the transformation which is directly linked to data source?
Please Note: We have Dev+Quality as one client and Production.

Error "Test Agent could not connect to the test controller" while configuring the Test Agent on Client machine

I am getting an Error “Test Agent could not connect to the test controller”
while configuring The Test Agent on Client machine.
Pre-requisite used:
VS2012 update 4, Test agent & Test controller of same version used
User has TFS admin access.
Same user id used for configuring Test Agent.
Description:
Test controller is installed on server A. I want to install test agent on client machine B.
Windows Fire wall is OFF on both Machines A & B. While configuring Test Agent below error is occurred:
“Test Agent could not connect to the test controller”
In log file error was “I, 2015/04/02, 15:32:21.723, Could not get the status from the test agent. Exception: Failed to connect to an IPC Port: The system cannot find the file specified.”
In Event viewer below error details given:
Unable to connect to the controller on ‘My Server: 6901’. The agent can connect to the controller but the controller cannot connect to the agent because of following reason: The requested name is valid, but no data of the requested type was found.
Make sure that the firewall on the test agent machine is not blocking the connection.
Could you please help me to find solution?

So on each computer, you create a local user account that is a member of the Administrators group, and use the same account and password on each machine(controller and Agent), am I right?

How to track changes for the config done directly in quality client-Reg

Hi,
In our system the landscape is Dev,Quality,Production.
For some transactions we will do the config in dev and transport to other clients or maintain in each client manually.Eg QS41,CI41.
In my case ,I have did the config in CI41 and transported to other clients.But someone user get in to CI41 in Quality client and did some changes. Now how to track the user Id through which the changes has been performed in QA directly.

you can use SE09 for displaying the transport no where you can see all the request nos ,from there you can check
also use the same transaction Cl41 do some changes like description ,then press the save button ,system will prompt you the previous saved Request No and make a note of it .cancel the request generation ,then you can trace them in SE09
also check whether you can find any change documents is available

How to Deactivate a Survey in an unmodifiable Quality client ?

Hello,
I have a Survey in Quality system, that needs to be deactivated, so
that it does not shows up in an Opportunity in Web UI, when the Status of
Opportunity is Win/Loss.
The problem is, the Quality system client is Unmodifiable, hence I am not
able to change the "Define Determination
for Questionnaires" and hence make this survey Inactive. The changes can only go through
Transport from the Dev system.
And, in the Dev system, surprisingly, there is no entry for this Survey
in "Define Determination for Questionnaires", where I could do the
changes and create a transport for the Q system.
Hence, it has become kind of a deadlock. Please suggest some solution.
Changes to be done on this screen: (making the survey Inactive):
IMG -> CRM -> Transactions ->Settings for Opportunities ->Sales
Methodology ->Define Determination for Questionnaires
Any help would be appreciated.

Hello, ascrm03.
Usually in such situations you can proceed in following way.
Make exactly the same setting in dev system as in quality system. This will create a transport request in dev system with information "to create" this setting. Transport this request to quality system. It won't create any new entries in quality system as they are already there.
Then delete this setting in dev system and transport this new request to quality system with information "to delete".
And you're done.
Do not remember for sure but may be it's possible to do the same with one request (create and immediately delete the setting).
Other way is to ask basis guys (whoever else who is responsible for) to "open" this quality client and then clean it.

Tcode in production client but not in development & quality client

I am facing this particular situation, I am seeing a particular Ztode which is in production client but not in development & quality client
Is it possible to have a tcode in production client but not in development & quality client, If yes what would be the reasons for maining in production client but not in development & quality client

It could be a local object that a person who has developer access in production created. This is unusual, but not unheard of.
Or the transaction could have been deleted in DEV and the deletion transported to QA but not PRD.

OB 52 running error in Quality Client

Dear Sir/Madam,
When running OB52 in Quality Client, it is showing an error " Client 400 has status not modifiable".
400 is our Quality client. After clicking ok in the error window, the output is comming.
In SCC4, the status is as follows :
1. Changes for transports andClient specific objects :
No changes allowed
2. Cross Client Object Changes ;
Changes to repository and cross client customizing allowed
It is running smoothly in Golden, Sandbox and Production Client smoothly.
Please advice.

How to install Data Quality Client on Windows when the Servers are on AIX

I have installed ODI, ODI DP and DQ Servers on an AIX machine. However, Oracle Data Quality Client is an Windows only component. How do i install it? When I use the software of ODI, for Windows platform,I get the following error when i try to connect.

Transport of Alert Profile from Development client to Quality Client

I have created different SDP alert profiles but no transport request has been generated .
Can anyone guide how to transport SDP alert Profile from development to quality client

Alert Profiles are manual config objects in APO and not transportable between systems.
Unless you want to find out the relevant tables and manually add them in a transport through SE10.
