Program to find duplicate emails

Anyone have a suggestion to find and eliminate duplicate emails? My Mail has thousands of them, scattered in folders including my inbox, that I just discovered as I was doing some filing (no joke, I have over 60K emails--I have to retain them for work).

The trouble with maxbulkmailer is that it a lot harder to use than Mail. Talk about unintuitive!
Our server allows us to send 99 emails/hour. Once a week we send an email to about 500 on our email list. It would be easy to put them in groups of 99 in Address Book, then send out one group each hour if we were around that long. But we aren't in the office that much. An easy fix in Mail would be something that would allow you to designate the time when an email should be sent. Then we could automatically send a different group each hour. Could this be done in Applescript?

Remove duplicate emails and mailboxes

I am moving emails from an old Mac to our new MacBook Pro. My wife has a LOT of mailboxes. It seems to me that when she imported her emails onto our old Mac, from an even older Mac, that mailboxes got duplicated. I think there are mailboxes and folders (with different names) that actually contain the same emails (or mostly the same) as other mailboxes and folders.
I've read some of the threads on the Apple Support Communities. I understand there is a script for finding duplicate emails. But will this only find duplicates within the same mailbox? I don't have this problem. I need to find duplicate mailboxes and duplicate emails within different mailboxes.
I am using Lion and Mail.

Same problem, only one of four accounts (POP) acts this way, and is reloading, and re-reloading, and re-re-re (you get the picture) mail from this account going back to June 07. All marked unread,up to almost 2k of these so far. Running OSX.4.10, dual 2ghz Powermac, 4gb ram, no recently added software.

Can't get rid of duplicate email accounts itunes imports from outlook

Hey everybody,
iTunes imports my email account information from Outlook and for some reason it finds duplicate email accounts. I only have one .pst file which only has one of each email account attached to it but iTunes finds duplicates.
So in iTunes, when I tick one of a duplicate account and click apply the other duplicate will tick itself.
I have no idea what is going on and I'm tempted to reinstall outlook, itunes, delete my pst file, restore my iPhone and just start all over again!
But I really don't want to do that.

Have the same problem. Sometimes end up with in excess of 10 duplicated calendars (they show as "all mobileme calendars" but do not have the individual calendars listed) on my iphone although the correct calendars only appear once on both mobileme and Mac. Have never had sync turned on in itunes.
A tiresome workaround to delete these from the phone is to go into settings/mail,contacts,calendar/your mobileme account and turn calendars off. Say yes to delete calendar on iphone. When this is finished turn calendars back on, then exit and open the calendar. One duplicate should have been removed. Repeat ad infinitum.
Problem is the duplicates keep coming back (even without connecting to the Mac). Anyone with ideas for a permanent solution?

Mail.app does not have this possiblility acc. to Apple. There are Scripts but not provided by Apple.
A solution can be to use third party software but I prefer Apples own software so have to wait until there is an update.

My mail program frequently asks for passwords that I have provided and saved many times. I am running Snow Leopard and have run the Keychain repair a few times to no avail. Is there a fix for this or do I have to find another email program?

This is frequent, not just occasionally. All cancel does is stop the email from coming through until I provide the password.
I thought about it being on the provider's end but it never happened when I was using Entourage, I just don't particularly like that program.
I don't understand why this problem has gone on so long without Apple doing something to fix it but I will continue to look for alternatives to the Apple Mail program. If I find a good one I will let all know through avenue.

Presuming the Post is about the Messages app and iMessages.
If you delete them they are gone or the Mac.
An iMessages arrives and is displayed in the App.
there is a setting in the Preferences > General section about Saving on Close.
The iMessages are also stored in the chat.db items (unless deleted) and this provides the "history" when you reconnect to a contact who is not currently on display in the main window.
In Mavericks Saved Chats and the chat.db items (there are three in total) are held in different places.
The app does not work like Mail where the emails can be left on the Server and "read" by other devices.
The iMessages are pushed to the devices that then accepts them.
After that the "sync" function ends (What you do with the iMessages on one device is not seen or changed on another)

Is there a program that can delete duplicate emails

I was doing a sync on my MBP and got panic when all my emails in my inbox disappeared. I quickly jumped on my iMac and made a duplicate copy of my inbox only to have it copy all of them back into my inbox. Short of the long I now have 11,000 duplicate emails in my inbox. Any suggestions how to get rid of the duplicates without manually going through 11,000 emails?

Outlook 2013 sending duplicate emails to my Blackberry

I have spoke to Blackberry and Microsoft tech support but neither could find a solution. I have several email accounts on my PC running Outlook 2013 and on my Blackberrry Q10.
First, I receive an email on my BB. Then, I also receive a duplicate on the BB once I turn on the PC and connect to wifi. It can be many emails that come in all at once, all duplicates.
This does not happen, however, with every email account. I have several inboxes in Outlook, and it only happens with the email accounts that are associated with one of the inboxes.
That particular inbox is associated with a Microsoft Exchange server, but it does not happen with the Exchange account. I only get duplicates of emails from every account under that inbox.

What is the type of account configured in Outlook and Blackberry (POP3, IMAP or Exchange/MAPI)?
If you happen to have another smartphone (like an Android phone) around you, I'd suggest you have a try on it. This way, we'll know if Blackberry is the problem here.

Stopping duplicate emails for outlook

Hi Guys,
I have a customer that has 2 email accounts. He asked to set-up a forwarding rule from one account to the other which was easily done. Now the problem is that when a customer emails him and cc his other account he gets two emails into his account one account.
So what I want to ask is there a rule that can be set-up to block duplicate emails using either the content of the email or the header as the duplicate emails will have the same heading.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I can think of a method, just kind of complicated, you may try it though:
In your scenario, let's say Account A forwards the email to Account B via a rule. We may create a rule in Account A, set it as "Where my name is in the Cc box and with specific words in the recipient's address, move it to a specified folder and
stop processing more rules", the specific words in the recipient's address should be set as Account B's address, then a message sent to B with A in the Cc box will be moved to a specific folder in Account A, and will not send to Account
B.
But I have to admit it may bring you some inconvenience, like you don't want do anything with the message in Account A, but now you have to move it to a specific folder. We may change it to "flagged" or "Play a sound" as you need.
I hope this can be a hint in your case.
We may also realize this via a VBA method but since it will try to match the duplicate items in the current folder, it may influence the program performance.
There are some 3rd-party add-ins which may clean up the duplicate items, you can find some on Internet as well.

Printer/Scanner cannot find my email client

Using my Deskjet 2540 scanner, and wish to send a scan via email, If I select "scan to email" the result is a message " The HP scan application cannot find a email application installed on this computer.....etc "     I use Mozilla Thunderbird as my email, there is nowhere in the scanner software to enter or search for Thunderbird , can anyone help as to how I tell the printer,   /scanner where my email program is .
at the moment i have to scan to file and then email it,    but not suitable for multi pages etc.

How do I find the email Microsoft made me create that was different from my normal email?

I had Microsoft 2010 software and because of that, I also have and use OneNote. I had to create an email for microsoft for that, ok, no problem.
Then I bought a Surface for which I bought Microsoft 365. During the download program processes, Microsoft created some email for me ... the extension was something other than I'm used to and I do remember something like [my choice - I know it] @ [my
choice - I know it] .microsoftonline.com or something like that.
The trouble is, I don't know where to find that email and therefore, letting me go find what I really want, my Activation number for 365.
So, I have two questions,
1) where to find the email they made me create
2) where to find the emails they sent to me in the email they made me create
I might as well ask one more question,
3) how do I change the email if I ever find it to be the same one I've used with my OneNote?

How to create a program to find files then display results to be clickable?

I am trying to find files based on extension name. It searches through all child folders from the parent folder to find files.
This program example, Dupe File Finder shows "Name, Path, and Size" as results. This looks like a JTable without gridlines?

Files from the results will be opened differently when double clicked based on their extensions (.java, .jar. .bat. .vow). EX, .java extension opens in Firefox that displays clear text.

Once I finish this program, I intend to make it find duplicate contents in excel files through the parent folder. Then it displays the list of duplicate files. Importing excel files in the mysql database might get the job done, but I still need to create a graphical user interface.

What's your advice related to this program?JTable has all the facilities which you can think of e.g. the first column in the shown table has a checkbox, this is also possible using JTable, you can set different CellRenderers and CellEditors to customize the table (carry on reading the tutorial, you will find it all there). I would suggest go ahead with JTable.
