Program to manage money

Next week I may start as treasurer for a club I belong to. Has anybody had any experience with any of the money managing programs available.
I have both KDE and gnome .

Might want to look at LedgerSMB instead of SQL-Ledger (again, if this type of thing is not overkill for the purpose). LedgerSMB is a fork of SQL-Ledger initiated apparently because the author of SQL-Ledger wouldn't respond to security issues. The controversial fork and the resulting flip-flopping of SQL-Ledger's license type after the fork is kind of an amusing read (/.'d and everything )

This morning, I did a power down and reboot of the I-Pad, that got the "Please Wait" resolved. I then tried clicking on the additional picture set and it did download and install, so the problem is now resolved.

Yes. Install this software: Disk Inventory X 1.0 from http://www.derlien.com/. It will show you what folders and files that takes the most of the space so you can free up your hard drive

Accessing third party programs for managed accounts w/parental controls

Hello - I am trying to set up a managed account for a child. I have installed some third party software. When I attempt to allow access under parental controls to this software, while I can see it under the parental control screen (eg, using System Preferences), when this account is actually accessed, the program does not appear.
I've had many problems in the past with parental controls, and would appreciate any sources, tutorials, etc on the matter!

A post in the link FromOZ provided held the answer.
Currently there seems to be an issue with Profile Manager and Admin account etc. According to the other thread so long as you use, user profiles the problem exists. One user in the other thread put forth that they stoped using user profiles and were using device profiles. Which seemed to fix the issue. I can confim removing all user profiles and only using device profile solves the issue.
What I did was create a group just for each user place all there devices into that group and never touch the individual user profile again.
Maybe this will help someone I dont know but maybe. Its a bit of a pain in the rear but now I have dictation fixed. Heres hoping the next verison of Server fixes this.
ps.. This was a perliminary test of just a few things like VPN, WIFI, and a few settings. I dont expect it to change once, I get more indepth.

Hypersonic SQL client program (Database Manager)

I would like to ask if there are some hypersonic Sql client program which can provide me a convenient environment for altering the table structure easily.
I have used the database manager provided by it and tried using other JDBC client program like isql in sourceforge.
I dont know whether there is tools which is written for HSQLDB. If there is, please tell me. Thanks very much for your kind act!!

Actually, it is very powerful and light such that many open source software love to use it.

Actually, the package it provided is enough for general purpose
But for building complicated application , I think it is not enough if I change field and data type very often.

Program to manage movies/series (like Calibre)

Hi,
i wonder if there is a program to comfortable manage my series/movies.
I'm looking for a easy way to tell which movie/episode i've already watched.
Calibre does this for my books very well but i couldn't find something similar.
Yes, a simple textfile could do this but hey - where's the fun that way?

dont understand exactly what your trying to do that cannot already be done by a program but from my understanding heres a couple possibilities: Tellico and MeDs Movie Manager

both arent so good if you want cover art and info for tv shows but hopefully that will be fixed sometime. I previously used MeDs to manage my 1400 movies/tv series but now use Tellico.
I know you can make stuff as watched with MeDs but never looked into it with Tellico.... but since you can make custom fields in Tellico you could just make a check box and check it whenever you watch something.
I switched to Tellico because of the flexibility and the fact that MeDs development is at a stand still. Having the shear number of movies/tv shows I organize the file locations and made a check box to sort out the tv from the movies.

Where did yo buy them? On your iPad or on a computer in iTunes?
Do they appear in your Purchased history on your iPad? Can you now redownload thme form there? There should be no cost to do so again.

I am in the process of changing over from pc to Mac. I am currently using Microsoft Money...is there an equivalant for the Mac? All I really need it to do is download bank activity from my checking account, set budget, and run income/expense reports. Thanks in advance for your help.

Quicken acceptable on the Mac, but the conversion from Microsoft Money is nearly impossible. I simply started over when I made the switch about 2 years ago. Once set up though, the bank access works well.

Hi,
It depends on country you are using.
if you check capitalize interest, interest would be added to your deposit account i.e. asset account. Then it means that interest amount has also been added to the asset and hence we will not pay tax on interest amount. This is generally done, when you invest back the money which you got from deposit including interest. Then since you are investing, you won't pay tax for it i.e you are using the money.
If you have not checked the capitalize interest, then you will get the interest amount to your bank or cash and hence it is a revenue, thus you will have to pay tax for interest amount alone depeding on the amount and also the country.

Programs that manage other programs

I just saw a program called gambitron that basically plays chess on yahoo games on behalf of the owner. What fascinated me was that the program was somehow aware of the positions of the pieces on the board, and able to move them. How is something like this accomplished? It thoroughly peaked my curiousity.

Hi, You did well, I understand what you are asking The first thing since those websites are not the safest, make sure you have a good Anti-Virus program running.
Now these links to the Adobe site are not the easiest to understand. This is the Global Storage Settings Panel. It works together with the next link, which is the Website Storage Settings Panel. You need to read both first before making any Settings. The third link is the Global Privacy Settings Panel.
When you go to these sites, they are active, you make the actual Setting right there. Nothing to download or Install.

Trouble with an internet mail program for managed user

Not sure if I am posting this question in the right section.
I have a new imac, and kids are managed users. I put some parental controls on them I picked and chose with all the various choices.
They have a login website through their school where they can send and receive emails only with other students and teachers.
Its not working on their managed accounts. It DOES work under my administrator account, or a "test" user, an unmanaged account. The browser used is Firefox 3.0.4.
Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be?

That sounds like a problem with the browser you're using. It may be that the browser must run from within the user's account and not your admin account. Try making a copy of the browser and placing it in the user's Applications folder - /Users/sonsuserfolder/Applications/. If there isn't an Applications folder there then make a new folder and name it Applications. Put the browser copy in that folder. Now log into the account and run the browser from his Applications folder rather than the system's.
Have you tried using Safari instead of Firefox? Is it possible that the school's system is not intended to be accessed from another network, thus it generates that error message because it will not accept an outside access. Or you may need to find out from the school how to access their network from home.

How will the Adobe Certified Expert program be managed with the shift to Creative Cloud?

I am presently studying to certify as an Adobe Certified Expert/Adobe Certified Instructor in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. My studying has been based upon the CS6 versions.
How will the ACE program work once we switch to CC? Should I wait for more changes to the program before taking my exams?

We will offer CC exams and keep the existing CS6 exams available while Adobe continues to sell and support our Creative Suite 6 product line. Creative Suite 5 exams will be retired as the new CC offerings are released.
I know there are a lot of questions that will come up as our ACEs begin to work with CC and prep for the new certifications. To coordinate with the CC certifications, the exams will now be based on time periods. Meaning your certification will be valid for a pre-specific length of time and will be required to recertify to maintain the CC product certifications.
