Program Won't Start Up
a few days ago i went to start a program from my dock and accidently hit my limewire program, which i didn't want to start. the icon began to bounce so i right clicked on it and hit 'force quit'. the program didn't start so i thought everything was ok. now, a few days later, my limewire won't start at all!! i click on the icon in my dock and it bounces, then just stops. i went into applications and tried to start it there and nothing happens either.
anyone have any ideas or suggestions how to get this program running again?

Sounds to me like you are trying to tap on the word VIDEO.
To change to video you don't tap on the word VIDEO. Instead, you drag the centre of the screen down. That will change the option from PHOTO to VIDEO.
Of course, to go back to PHOTO or to SQUARE you drag the centre of the screen up. -
Premiere elements 11 program won't start/open anymore.
I was using at 7am no problem and my computer died (it has done that numerous times before and i've never expeirneced this problem, just died because the power chord is loose) and then i go to finish editing around 4p and now the program won't open. everythingelse (google, files, media, other programs) run and open fine but not premiere. I am not tech savvy and don't really understand what other forums are saying, i'm definitely consumer level. please please help, i don't want to lose my work.

If you need specs i need a walk through how to check. Its a dell computer that can run world of warcraft just fine so i don't think its the driver or graphic card, and again premiere was working just this morning.

Typically I start with lots and lots of questions to define the situation.
In view of the circumstances that you describe, I am going to start with a suggestion rather than questions. Then, if the suggestion does not work, then I will send a lot of questions your way.
Delete the Premiere Elements 11 settings file, named Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs. In Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit, the path to it is:
Local Disk C
Users
Owner
AppData
Roaming
Adobe
Premiere Elements
11.0
and in the 11.0 Folder is the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file that you delete. If that does not work, then delete the whole 11.0 Folder in which the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file exists. Be sure to be working with Folder Option Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives active so that you can see the complete path cited.

any ideas for an easy fix.Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

Multiple programs won't start up - quit unexpectedly
Dear experts
After runing software update (3 diff - 1 for epson printer, 1 java and 1 unknown) I started having isues starting up different programs. my itunes, iphoto, pages, keynote, numbers, office 11, imovie won't start up. I can still use mail, sonos, safari, firefox. The apps are just bounching in the bar and then I get a warning box saying that program quit unexpectedly. The programs never starts up.
My spec.
Imac (intel) 3,2 GHz
4 GB RAM
580 GB free disk space
runing MacOS 10.6.8
I have downloaded 10.6.8 combo and supp without any changed. I have run a flashback - removal program - it didn't find anything. Have tryed to start up programs useing a different profile without any luck. Have run my disk utillity and repaired the disk - programs are stille not working:-(
Does anyone have any suggestions on have to proceed? I would like if I didn't have to reinstall everything.

Hey all,
Yesterday I tried loading up my programs on my Mac (ProTools, Photoshop, Word, etc) They won't start up. Or I can't reinstall them either. I keep getting an error message saying something about "CarbonLib". Programs like iTunes, Toast, Acrobat run fine and get no message. Currently running Mac OS X 10.4.10. I've been reading on the forums that people are having problems with 10.4.10. Should I go back to 10.4.9? I never had this problem with 10.4.9. I don't know if this has anything to do with it but before I tried running my programs I was downloading some music frim LimeWire and last week I added a PC133 512MB chip maxing out my ram to 1.5GB. Please help. Cheers!
SteveHi Steve, I was downloading some music frim LimeWireSheesh, that's worse than using a public toilet! You can pick up lots of nasties there. It's also possible that the ram is problematic but bad RAM usually causes funnier stuff.
Create a new account, name it "test" and see how your apps work in that User acct? (That will tell if your problem is systemwide or limited to your User acct.) This account is just for test, do nothing further with it.
Open System Preferences >> Accounts >> "+" make it an admin account.
Let us know and we'll troubleshoot this further.
As for going back to 10.4.9, if you have a full clone you can erase your drive and clone back, or you can back everything up and do an erase & install.
About "Downgrade" installations
"You should not reinstall an earlier version of the same software over a later version. These "downgrade" installs may seem to work, but Apple does not test nor recommend downgrade installations in most cases. Some installers prevent downgrade installations. If you need to reinstall an earlier version of Mac OS X, erase your disk first or choose the erase option in the Mac OS X Installer. Be sure to reinstall any software updates after reinstalling the operating system."

CVI program won't start anymore
Our measurement application worked well on several PC's (Win7 32Bit, WinXp 32Bit).
But on 2 newer PC's (Win7 32Bit) the application won't start anymore.
The attached Error with the code R6030 shows up.
We found a workaround for the problem: run the application as administrator.
But after we installed a USB-driver, this workaround doesn't help anymore,
and the Error shows up every time.
We installed the environment (cvi-rt, etc...) with an distributed setup.
So the Versions of the components are the same on every PC.
Any ideas?

the cause was, the HP-Software, which was preinstalled on the PC's (the others were Dells)
After uninstalling the HP Security Suite our application works perfect.
I hope this helps other poor guys -

I have been successfully using the Mac Office suite of programs on my MacBookPro for about a year. Now, suddenly, none of the programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) will start up. The small pop-up page identifying the selected program emerges for a couple of seconds (as usual), but nothing happens thereafter - i.e. the actual program fails to start. I have also tried starting the programs by attempting to open an existing file (E.G. a Word document), but the (lack of) result is the same.
The only recent change I can think of that has happened on the Mac is the upgrade to Mac OS 1.5.2
Any and all help appreciated!Re-installed all. Now works OK.

Multiple Yosemite woes: programs won't start, can't enter Time Machine, etc.

I have been having Yosemite problems similar to those discussed elsewhere (e.g. iMac 27" late 2013 and Yosemite) (albeit with 10.10.1, Mid-2010 MacBook Pro): can't enter Time Machine, although it seems to be backing up; programs including Illustrator, EndNote, and Boinc don't start, or only after an hour or two (others, including Microsoft Office, seem okay). They will start normally in safe mode, but not for a newly created user. Many permission repairs carried out (seems okay except for a couple recurring printer-related messages), disk is okay, PRAM and SMC reset. Spent some time with various tech support, so most of these have been tried several times.
The solution here com.apple.xpc.launchd & com.apple.mdworker.bundles pollute logs with errors worked through one restart - there were two mystery uids, owning many files - but not through a second.
I have followed the permission repair procedure from another post (discussions.apple.com/message/27015992#27015992); the initial return was 639, and now it is 0. Restarted since then, nothing appeared to change.
Below is what I get from the test suggested in the first thread mentioned, I hope there is something informative here! I'll study it myself, but don't know what might or might not matter.

Everytime I try to run iWeb the progress bar goes to about 80% then all of a sudden I get a message that says "iWeb has mysteriously shut down" and then I get an option to reopen it, report a problem to apple, or cancel the program. Reopening the program does nothing and it just refuses to start. Does anybody else have this problem at all? I am running iWeb 1.01

PREFERENCE FILE CORRUPTION
First... if iWeb is open, save your changes and quit... then follow this path to Hard disk/users/username/library/application support/iweb/DOMAIN
When you get to the DOMAIN file, click on it once while holding down the CONTROL key.
Select SHOW PACKAGE CONTENTS.
Inside this first folder, or an interior folder you will find a file called "assets.username.plist"
username in this file will be replaced by your user name on your local computer.
Drag this file to the trash and throw it away. if you preferences file is not corrupted it will be rewritten when you reopen the application, if it is corrupted, which appears to happen a lot, it prevents you from uploading successfully.

Can anybody help me out?
I just bought a new MacBook Pro, my first Mac ever. I had Final Cut Express pre-installed. When I went to open it up, it did the thing where it asks you what kind of camera you have. Well, I answered and told the program to ignore that my camera wasn't connected (I need to track down my firewire cable). I may have specified the wrong kind of camera as well -- I'm not sure.
Here's what happens
When I go to start the program the message pops up that it can't detect my camera. It says hitting continue will set the camera setting (or whatever term they use) to "none." so I hit continue. Then the program closes and when I try to open it I go through the same thing over and over again.
Is there anyway I can reset the settings (I already tried to uninstall and reinstall the program... maybe I didn't completley uninstall it or something) or get around this?Try trashing the preferences exactly like this:-

Don't bother about it saying FCE 2. They are all the same.

ISync icon blocked and program won't start
I have been trying to sync my Nokia 6131 to my MacBook, but I can't get iSync to start. The icon is covered with a block sign and when I try to start it I get a message saying something like (translated from Swedish) "The program "iSync" can't be started since it doesn't support on this architecture".
What is wrong? Can I re-install iSync from my Leopard CD again? If so: how? I only have an Leopard upgrade disk.

I have an iMac G4 bought used, which runs OS X 10.3.9, and recently it hasn't been opening my programs. The programs I already had open when this started still work okay, but if I try to open any others, the dock icon starts bouncing like it's going to open, and then just... stops. Not too long ago I did accidentally rename the 'user' folder (middle of the night, you know? I was thinking it was a different one), but that hadn't caused me any problems really before. Things haven't been crashing or anything, they just haven't been starting. So yeah, any idea what might be wrong?

Except for Bridge that opens fine. All other programs start to load but then a window opens (see image). When I close out of it without purchasing the trial offer, it asks if I'm sure and then closes without opening the CS6 application.
I do not have a CC subscription (except a free one) and I don't want one.
Can anyone help me sort this out?

Operating Win 7 64bit on a Dell Precision T3500 w/ 12gigs ram.
All cs6 progs. operated correctly until today. But recently that trial offer window opened when starting ID but in earlier cases when I clicked out of that window, id would open. Now it doesn't, nort do any other cs6 progs. except both 32 aND 64bit bridge. CS5.5 progs. seem to work fine.
