Adobe CS3 programs wont open after reinstalling...help please anyone?

Im wondering if anyone know how to fix this...
Im running windows vista and my adobe creative suite 3 master collection decided to stop working and started saying there were errors and asking that i reinstall. I unistalled the copy and reinstalled and now the programs wont even open, i get no error messages or anything the programs just dont open no matter how many times their clicked.
Ive uninstalled and reinstalled several times trying to install using my activation code, installing without just as a trial and nothing seems to make a difference. Finally after about an hour of waiting Ive just got a message when opening fireworks saying "Licensing for this product has stopped working" something about unistalling and reinstalling that I didnt manage to catch. This is installed as the trial version so there should be no licensing issue... right?
Has anyone else had this happen to them and does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this problem?

Slow networking, programs wont open, broken ethernet port - so many probs!

WE've got some 3 year old power macs in the office - 2 x g5's and one g4. there are a number of problems:
1) the g4 ethernet port has broken - i've been quoted £500 to get it fixed (thoughi may find it cheaper elsewhere) - but basically i need a cheaper option. someone tripped over the wire and completely dislodged the bit where it plugs in. if anyone knows of an alternative that would be great. tried an ethernet/usb adaptor but there werent any drivers to make it work.
2) the second problem is the networking - one of the g5's connects to the internet fine but when i try to network to or from it with any computer inc my laptop it is so slow - what normally takes 20 seconds to transfer takes 3 hours with this one. i have no idea why it's suddenly started doing this - sometimes it just freezes and i have to restart all the computers.
3) photoshop wont open on one computer - it just says 'unexpectedly quit - do you want to send a bug report' - but it never even opens!
4) quark wont open on some user accounts - it says 'it wont open on a locked volume' - but i havent locked anything!

Belkin has stated they intend to release new drivers for the F5D5005 that will support 10.4x. However, as of the present they have not done so. Given that Belkin is taking longer then I would expect them to take, and that the card has been backordered for sometime, I would agree that one of the other compatible gigabit cards is a better choice at this time.
It's funny that you bring this up, as I was just researching a new gigabit card for one of our G4 Quicksilver servers after an old Asante card finally died after many years of abuse (It's been in about a dozen machines at one time or another).
I'm looking at the Netgear, or Hawking, both work natively under 10.4, though the Hawking has had reports of problems with iPv6, though I would think the problem would include the Netgear as they both use the same realtek chips. However as iPv6 is not an issue with our network, I can just disable iPv6 support on the server.

Mail program wont open

Hi all
I have recently reinstalled OSX 10.4.7 after a HD crash and found that although everything is as it was before....the Mail program crashes upon opening. Every 3rd attempt at opening, it takes me through the POP/SMTP setup, but then crashes when it gets to the end. The next 2-3 times it crashes a few seconds after clicking on the icon.
I am a bit bamboozled to be honest??? In the old days of OS 8 and 9 this sort of think often pointed to memory problems...but whole system is running perfectly otherwise (and has 1GB of RAM installed).
Is it possible to reinstall just the Mail application?? I dont wanna have to transfer to a different application (like Outlook etc..) as the Apple Mail is pretty good/easy to use.
Any advice would be appreciated...

CX9, your problem isn't really the same, so it should be no surprise that what you've tried so far didn't work.
Verify/repair your disk first (not just permissions), as described here:
The Repair functions of Disk Utility: what's it all about?
After having fixed all filesystem issues, if any, reinstall the Mail application as described here:
Custom installs in Mac OS X 10.4
If the version of the system software on your installation disks is earlier than what you're using now (and only in that case), then you must also reinstall the corresponding Combo Update afterwards, to bring the Mail application back in sync with the rest of the system:

You may also want to read the following articles for guidelines on how to properly install system updates:

Basically, you should verify/repair the startup disk before installing the update, and no applications should be running while installing it.
If you continue experiencing problems after doing all the above, please start a new topic describing them, unless you really believe your problem is the same as the one being discussed in this thread.

Follow the guide to run it in compatibility mode:
Make older programs run in this version of Windows
Another thing is please make sure there is enough memory to allow the program to start, clean up Windows Disk and check Windows updates.
Further, try to confirm this issue at the vendor or the manufactuer side, see if they could offer any better suggestion.

Microsoft Programs Wont Open

I've been trying and trying to open my Microsoft word, but nothing happens. Not even an error alert. It simply will not open. I have tried several ways of opening it, but to no avail. I also am unable to open old works (glad this happened after a huge
assignment, whew!). As for my other Microsoft programs? Well they aren't opening either. It would be nice to be able to write English papers once again, so any help is greatly appreciated.

Had you tried safe mode to open MS-Word? If not then type winword.exe /safe
in Run option. By using Word in safe mode, you can disable the plug-ins in Word.
Most of the times third party plug-ins produce such kinds of bugs in Word otherwise you have to move on office repair tool.

Programs wont open, errors show up, cant install or uninstall anything...seems to be something with some temp folder.

we recently got our wifi fixed and at first it wouldnt connect to it so i tried all kinds of things mostly restarting my laptop
multiple times...after that i dunno WTH happened but now its so messed up. So many errors come up for everything. Most of them always mention "temp folder". I think somethings wrong with it. I try to open photoshop, word, install firefox...try to
uninstall programs...all bring up errors...NOTHINGS WORKING RIGHT.

Based on my understanding, "temp folder" means the temporary profile, right? If I misunderstand your true meaning, please feel free to let me know.
As you said, you saw the error message. So, I suggest you post the screenshot or error message.
Meanwhile, I need to confirm if you use a account with administrator permission.

Programs wont open

This week I have several programs that are quitting unexpectedly, or will not open all of a sudden. Photoshop CS, office 2004, and even the Appleworks programs. They all refuse to open. I uninstalled PS, and the office products, and then tried to reinstall and couldn't even do that from the install disk. I did do a disk repair scan, but it said there was nothing wrong with the disk. And I'm getting some SymSecondary launch(whatever that is) failure as well. Does anyone know what is happening and how to fix it.

Photoshop CS, office 2004, and even the Appleworks programs.
Not sure of the Photoshop but office 2004 and Appleworks are both powerpc programs. Based on that fact please read the following thread and do the terminal (defaults) command I posted there to see if it also applies to you.

Recent security update...now programs wont open

I recently did the Security Update for Quicktime 2007-001. Right when it informed me to restart my computer the computer froze so i had to reboot.
Now it seems all the programs from a certain point on my nav bar on over will not open, nor will they open from their root location, these programs being Quark, Entourage, Word, Excel, Yahoo IM, Preview, iCal to name a few?
Any ideas what happened?

First try to repair disk permissions in the Disk Utility. If that doesn't help, you can try to reinstall the Security Update from the Downloads page.

Palm Desktop program wont open

Since my last hot sync my Palm Program on my desktop will not open the data. The message I get is" Palm™ Desktop by ACCESS Application has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." I then have no use of any of the functions - close, minimize etc. I have to shut it down with the CNTRL/ALT/DLT

What OS is on your computer? Palm Desktop by Access 6.x was designed for Vista.
If still using XP, I'd suggest returning to the older version (4.x).

Programs wont open after reinstall

Just last night i was working on my Mac. I had downloaded some updates and shut it down. Later on that night, i went to log onto my Mac and it would just load forever and never go anywhere else.
So i put in the disk utility and saw that the startup folder was a Server. Some how installed a update for a Apple Server.
Now that i was freaking out i reinstalled the operating system without eraseing my files and now i hit the desktop with some reliefe.
Moving on i tried to open my applications and none of my pro application (final Cut Pro, soundtrack Pro etc.) would open. After installing some more updates i got most of them open however Motion 2, Compressor 2, Shake 4 and Safari will not open what so ever. I dont have the disks for the Final Cut Studio on me at the time and need a project done but tommorow. AHH can anyone please help

I ran into this problem when I recently upgraded from a G5 Dual to a G5 Quad. I used Migration Assistant and even that did not work for the Pro applications. I tried everything and eventually had to reinstall FCP, Motion, Shake, DVD Studio, SoundTrack Pro, Compressor, etc. Then you have to go back and upgrade them all to the current level or they still won't open your current projects saved with a newer version.
I'd try to get the original installers FEDEX to you. Hope you make your deadline.

CS3 programs installed but wont open.

Most of my cs3 programs wont open. I am running Windows Vista and have the Adobe CS3 master collection.
It appears as though Bridge is the only one that will open. Photoshop for example, will open the grey background with "file" "tools" etc. but will not go any further.
I have a new HP Pavilion dv5 with 2Ghz core duo, and 2GB ram.
Any help will be appreciated.

I had CS3 installed on my old computer running XP and everything worked fine. Then the motherboard (or something) on that computer fried so I bought a new one that has Vista Home Premium.
I've tried everything I can think of. I loaded it, the repaired it, then uninstalled it and reinstalled it in the "Program Files" directory (before it had been loaded in the "Program Files (x86)" directory) and repaired it in that directory.
I've tried opening every one of the programs, all except Photoshop end up doing nothing. When I look under Task Manager, there is nothing going on the "Applications" tab. But under the "Processes" tab, I see the exe file is loaded and going.
The main program I'm trying to use is AfterEffects - I tried to open it earlier so right now in "Processes" the pogram "AfterFX.exe *32" is loading and running but it's not working!!
It's driving me NUTS! I really have ton of work to do and I'm wayyy behind as it is with the stupid computer croaking. Now I can't even try to catch up because I can't open the program!

Safari. wont open off the doc

Hi need help running 10.3.9 panther i cant get safari to open off the doc. up next to the blu apple on the header bar it says safari so something is happening but the program wont open all hte way. If i try to open directly by opening the hard drive icon then finding safari in the applications folder and double clicking i get the same results. thanks djcappy1

Sounds like there is file corruption.
Here are a few suggestions: (each one requires moving a file or folder to the desktop and restarting Safari. If no resolution, move the item back to its original location and try the next suggestion.)
These items are found in your User Library:
Preferences folder - .com.apple.safari.plist - this is the Safari preferences file. If Safari becomes functional, then you'll need to reset any customized settings once the program opens.
Safari Folder - holds your bookmarks, download, history and icons (favicons). Move the entire folder to the desktop. If the program opens, then one of these files is corrupt. On the restart, Safari automatically creates a new folder. So, if Safari works, then move one at a time (restart Safari each time) the various items in this folder into the newly created Safari folder. If Safari crashes you've found your corrupted file.
If none of the above works, then try Safari from another User Account (you may have to create one in System Preferences). If Safari doesn't work there then your problem is system-wide.
Post back with results.
