Programatically displaying part of a report in an iframe

Hello,
I've followed the thread at:
http://www.forumtopics.com/busobj/viewtopic.php?t=61862&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=reportpart&start=0
to add a graph from a report to an iframe. It works, but I had to manually open my .wid file to get the SID/BID and then hard coded it in my ASP.NET page. Since I'm getting the data from CrystalDecisions.Enterprise.InfoStore.InfoObject is there any way to get the SID/BID from somewhere in the object?
The only other alternative I can think of is to programmatically open the .wid file and get the SID/BID from inside there. I was pretty sure that when I was looking around at the CrystalDecisions.Enterprise.InfoStore.InfoObject object earlier that I saw the path to the .wid file stored somewhere in there, but I don't see it now. Can anyone tell me where I can programatically get the path to the .wid file?
Thanks,
Eric

Hello,
I've been able to open the .wid file in an xml format via the BusinessObjects.ReportEngine.IReport.GetXMLView.  It shows me the values for the RID and the BID, but I don't see the actual name of the graph, which I can plainly see if I open the .wid file in the filestore.
I was going to try to do the GetView method instead, to see what I could see in the other formats.  It appears to support Csv, Html, Xml, Pdf, Xls, etc.  I can't get it to work, however.  I get "Evaluation of expression or statement timed out."
Dim boIReport As IReport = boIDocumentInstance.Reports(0)                          'Declare the variable
boIReport.GetXmlView(XmlFilterType.GraphAsBinary)                                           'works fine.
boIReport.GetView(BusinessObjects.ReportEngine.OutputFormatType.Xml)   'gives me the timeout.

  • Display Comments in Webi Report

    Hi All,
We have a requirement, to display comments (2 or 3 paragraph in each page of report). The text needs to preserve the format (bold, bullets and colored text) i.e the format from the source data should be retained when displayed in the webi report.
Say for example the source is the excel and the text is coloured red or green , some part of the text is bold, all these formats should be preserved in the webi report also.
Can you please suggest, how to implemet this in webi report?
    Thanks,
    Sudha

you can take the formatted text in a word document, take a screen shot, put it in mspaint and select the required part. now place this picture in the blank cell's background image. this will preserve the formats of all kinds.
but u cant change the text dynamically.
usually we do this to give users an introduction page(tab1 in report followed by report tabs.) describing the application.
    Thanks,
    karthik

  • Garbage displayed while running the report in browser using report server

We are facing problem in displaying the Arabic text from the Report Server.
We have Digital Server running Tru64 4.0f unix. We have two similiar servers, both are
clustered. We have Report Server(6i) running in one machine and the Database(8.1.7) running
    in the other.
When we tried the reports having only English text it is working fine. We need Arabic text
also in the report. The Arabic text are coming as ?????? . We tried setting the NLS_LANG
environment to AMERICAN_AMERICA.AR8MSWIN1256 and changed the Tk2Motif.rgb to take this
character set. Then we get the error REP 1352 - The font is not supported by the NLS_LANG.
Then we tried the various NLS_LANG environment AMERICAN_AMERICA.AR8ISO8859P6, ARABIC_SAUDI
ARABIA.AR8MSWIN1256 and ARABIC_SAUDI ARABIA.AR8ISO8859P6, in all the cases the report is
just hanging. If We unset the NLS_LANG and the Tk2Motif.rgb the english part of the reports
are coming alright, still the arabic is coming ??????.

    hello,
where does it display the ???????s. it seems that the client, you are using to display the output does not have the right font-sets installed.

I was just having a bit of a fiddle with the differen't web-parts available to add on our local SharePoint site, and as one of my tasks is to have a report automatically open when the page is opened i thought i would try to add the web-part 'SQL Server Reporting
Services Report Viewer' just to see the outcome.
Now, I don't much care about viewing the report at this time, but imediately after trying to add the web part i am being displayed with an error and no matter how much i navigate away from the page or close the browser the particular link to the page i was
trying to insert the web-part into now displays an error.
The error simply says 'An unexpsected error has occured' with various 'Correlation ID:' each time.
Now i have a link to other parts or subsites of that SharePoint site and they work just fine, it's just when i try to click on the page where i wanted to put the web-part in it
still comes up with an error. This page just so happens to be the home page so it really does need to be fixed.
    Please help!?
    Many Thanks,
    Plain_Clueless

    Hi again,
Sorry for the bother, We have now fixed the issue for the time being.. all that was needed was a simple '?contents=1' at the end of the url which takes you to a menu where you can delete the
necessary web-part that was causing the trouble.
As for actually implementing the report onto SharePoint.. in future i will make Dev pages instead.. and it seems i may need to contact the admin side of building so they configure 'SQL Reporting
    Services Report Viewer' properly.
    Thanks a lot though!

  • Number with more than 10 decimal places display as 0 in report

We have a number stored on a table as this long with several decimal values.
    2440.159999999999854480847716331481933593
On one PC it display in a Crystal report as 0 and to another user it displays at the 2440.   The report formats the display field with 0 decimal places.
Is there a max precision setting at the database level that is causing this?
It seems I can add an SQL express as follows:
Round ("ORDER_RELEASE"."TOTAL_WEIGHT", 2) to resolve the issue but cannot determine could be causing the differences in display among two different client PCs running the same report.

    Hello,
CR was built using C++ and therefore the max number is 15 digits plus 1 for the sign of the number.
Cause could be different runtime of MS C++ but hard to say for sure. I any event the only work around is to use  Store Procedure and break the field into 2 parts. The in CR add a text object and drop the fields into it next to each other. For doing any calculations on them you'll also have to do that in the SP or handle each field manually.
    Thank you

  • Displaying Date Parameters in Report Heading

    Post Author: Jim-1003
    CA Forum: Formula
    Hello,
I am new to Crystal Reports, and I am trying to improve an existing report definition so that the beginning and end dates selected by the user are displayed as part of the report heading.  I saw something similar in the report samples, but the sample uses custom functions that apply only to that report -- cdFormatDateRange and cdSpecialDateRange.  I have not found any documentation on how those functions were created or how to use them. Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Jim

After some digging, I did find out more.  First of all, in the options for my Parameter, the option to allow multiple entries was set to true, so I didn't really have a range, but an array of ranges, which confused the editor.
Second, I finally did find the source code for cdFormatDateRange, which allowed me to reuse it by copying it into the clipboard and pasting it into my report.

  • Possiblity to expand / narrow / reset all drillstroughable parts of the report with one button

    Hi,
has anyone done that bevore? Is this possible ..
I have parts of a big Report, that are expanded (where i can see all detaildata) and parts where the detaildata is there, but arent showed by Standard (are narrowed).
I wish i could have a button, where i can expand / narrow all expandable/narrowable parts of the reports from 1 button.
    Why?
    1) To print the Report i could press "Expand all" and then print, so i get all the detials of the Report.
    2) for a better first look i could Show all expandable reportparts narrowed. Then click expand all to see all Details.
and maybe to reset all expandable parts to the Default (Settings when loaded) there could be a reset button to.
    Any Chance?
    THX, greets pib

    Hi Pe.bo,
Per my understanding that you want to add an button in the report to control the Expand All and Collapse All of the drill down report, right?
I have tested on my local environment and we can do this by creating an parameter to control the show/hide of the details, We can add two radio button image (Radio on, Radio Off)and add the "Go to Report"action on the image which
display most similar to the button and will display the result of Expand All and Collapse All once you click on the radio button.
Step by Step details information in below article for your reference to help you achieve the result:
    http://blogs.interfacett.com/how-to-implement-expand-allcollapse-all-for-drill-down-in-sql-ssrs
If you still have any problem, please feel free to ask.

  • How to set the number of rows displayed in a classical report at runtime?

    Hi,
Our customer has several standard client hardware configuration and would like to enable end users to choose their 'display profile' at login time. This 'display profile' would contain predefined values for these hardware configurations and supposed to set various paramters that should define the number of rows displayed in a classical report region.
I tried to provide parameters on the report region but it refused to accept anything but numerical values. Is it possible to do this?
    Regards, Tamas

The link is to the closest linkable point in the documentation to the description of the Number of Rows (Item) attribute.
It sounds like you have been trying to enter&mdash;unsuccessfully&mdash;an item name or substitution string into the Number of Rows attribute. The Number of Rows (Item) attribute is the one that actually allows you to do this. Click on the flashlight icon beside it to get a list of items from the application.

  • Display issue in Bex Report

    Hi all,
I have a requirment in my report where in i would not like to display the -ve values as negative in the columns. I do not have the option to use NODIM() at the query level, because i am simultaneously switching between the column displaying actual values as well as being input ready. How can we eliminate the -ve sign from the values being displayed, so that the report display just the absolute numbers.
    Kindly help.

    Hey
    Create Calculate KeyFigure where (YOURKF<0)(YORKF*-1)+(YOURKF>0)(YORKF).
I think in this way your will get absolute value

  • Conditional display in a SQL-Report/Report Region

    Hi,
here I have an example for "Conditional display in a SQL-Report/Report Region". I figured it out in Firefox 3.6.2 using Firebug as development tool on Apex 3.2.1.00.12.

Maybe you have to modify the "vd_getBody" function. I'm searching the table cell with having the class "t10data". When you use another theme, there's maybe another class used.
Second is, that you set an static id for your report region. I prefer this structure:
    R<app-id><page-id><seq> (Raaaaappppsss) e.g. R094260001010.
First example is to turn off the onMouse-Effect. Maybe on the first or last column definition you put this code in the "HTML-Expression" area:
<script>ex_conditional_tr('R094260001010', #ROWNUM#);</script>#ID#This will call the example function ex_conditional_tr with the parameter
    a) the region id
    b) the rownum (as oracle always starts with 1 this is the first data row [rownum=0 is the table header row])
Second example is the conditional formatting of a table cell. Put this in the HML-Expression area:
<script>ex_conditional_td('R094260001010', #ROWNUM#, #COLNUM#-1);</script>#ENAME#This will call the example function ex_conditional_tr with the parameter
    a) the region id
    b) the rownum
    c) the cellnum (here we have to subtract 1 to get the "real" cell index)
The "ex_conditional" functions are just a representation of how to get the row or cell node.
    Hope this help a bit.
    Tom

I would use a CASE statement in the select....
each CASE would be an img src tag for a different button if the button is an image.
does that make sense? I can include an example if you would like...

    Hi,
No its not possible to display list of reports in dashboard prompts.
Can do this using SQl results in prompt(we write query checking out report names manualy),but its not easy thing if you are having many report names to be displayed.

If the selection is the same for BEST layout and ALV layout then the results should equal.
if a field in ALV display has a different value than in the old list display, then it pretty much looks like a bug, and bugs can only be erased by program changes from SAP via OSS notes.

  • Stored Procedure for displaying data in Crystal Reports

Hi I am new to Oracle & Crystal Reports,so can any one please give me sample stored procedure to display data in Crystal report from Oracle by passing rwo input values.

    from site:-
Crystal Reports will only support the return of a single refcursor from Oracle. Even the latest and greatest version 10 doesn't allow you to return more than one recordset at a time. You could add one more step to your procedure that would join up the output of the multiple refcursors into a PL/SQL table and then fetch the result set out through a single refcursor. That way you are using temporary space that will be cleaned up as soon as the connection is terminated and will only be returning a single refcursor
