ProgramData\Adobe\Acrobat\9.2\ARM directory
Hello,
We installed Adobe Acrobat Pro Extended 9.2 on our Windows 2008 R2 (terminal server). The directory "ProgramData\Adobe\Acrobat\9.2\ARM" fills up (disk space usage) really fast with the username that logs in. How do I resolve this issue? So far, I have been manually removing the folder of each username it has created.
Also, for the files with .msp extenion, can I remove that?
Thanks,
tntrac
I don't know what the problem is, but I'm guessing there is an error in the way you deployed the product on WTS and it's installing itself (or tryig to) for every user.
It might be worthwhile to find a WTS forum.

Hi,
I am looking into an issue on a Windows 2008 Server running Citrix XenApp.
The folder: C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Reader\9.3\ARM is currently 15GB and growing.
There are sub folders for about 250 user names under this ARM folder - each of varying sizes up to 250MB each...
There are also 78 folders with numerical names ranging from 579 to 32742 totalling 125MB.
From Google it would appear ARM is something to do with Adobe Reader Manager and automatic updates or something...?
But why does this server have sub folders for 250+ users and can I delete them as the server is running short on space???
Many Thanks,
Anthony. There have been quite a few updates after 9.3.0, but as far as I know ARM should not create those subfolders under each User name.
If you (or Users on this system) do not attempt or do not intend to attempt to install those updates, you can safely delete this whole folder and disable ARM by setting bUpdater value to 0 in the policy registry for Adobe Reader 9 - please search this forum for detailed information on this registry. -

Error:1602 , Adobe Acrobat Updater - Update Failed
My operating system is Windows 7 Professional, 64-bit
After installing Creative Suites 4 and downloading updates, I received an Acrobat Updater notification that Updates were available.
I clicked on the Adobe Acrobat Updater icon and ultimately got the following Error.
Adobe Acrobat Updater, Update Failed, Error:1602
This was solved by going to C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Acrobat\9.2\ARM
I deleted the contents of the ARM folder and then ran "Check for Updates" from Adobe Acrobat. This re-populated the ARM folder with the correct folder and files. Updater ran and I followed the instructions to restart my computer and now it works well.Ronald Segerstrom for questions regarding an Acrobat specific update please repost your inquiry to the Acrobat Windows forum.

How to enable indexing of a protected adobe acrobat document
Hi
I was trying to index all Adobe Acrobat documents inside one directory but I got a message suggesting that indexing of password-protected Adobe Acrobat documents is not possible.
I would like to know if there is a protection level (say read-only protection) that allows indexing of Adobe Acrobat documents. That would allow me to search for specific workd inside my index of Adobe Acrobat documents even if they are password protected.
Or is there any other means (say an add-in) that would allow indexing of password protected Adobe Acrobat documents and then enable searching thro these documents.
A.C.In the security settings enable copying of the. Don't assign a open password.

Hi,
I have tried searching in all the windows and adobe forums but couldn't find the answer to this problem. I had Adobe Acrobat running. I updated, not sure if it was 9.0 or 9.3 but it didn't install properly and it messed up my adobe installation. I removed all Adobe programs (Acrobat, Flash, Air) but the Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\ActiveX directory is not accessble. The installer fails with Error 1303 saying it doesn't have permission to access this directory. I have tried Editing the Advanced properties to change the ownership but the owner is not visible and unchangeable. Please help me fix this. Due to this Acrobat cannot be installed and without PDF, its impossible to use so many programs.
I was running the installer as Administrator.
Thanks.
P.S.
Error 1303. The installer has insufficient privileges to access this directory: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Acrobat\ActiveX. The installation cannot continue. Log on as administrator or contact your system administrator.Thanks. I was logged in as Admin. What helped was the age old proven solution for any Windows problem, a reboot. For some reason, some process was probably holding on to the lock. Some uninstaller forgot to ask me to reboot, or perhaps I forgot to reboot. Oh well.

Try the following:
uninstall any current Reader version using http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
download and run the offline installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
Make sure you run both uninstaller & installer when logged in as an Administrator user. -
Adobe Acrobat DC Update Failed - wrong directory and names?
The CC applet downloads stuff and extracts it under TEMP. Then it complains that
E:\Temp\{AE78F010-4298-4465-BAE0-11B03C94ACAB}\Acrobat_11_0_0_CCM_MUI\Adobe CS7\payloads\AcrobatProfessional11.0-mul\
is not available.
Sure enough, there is no such directory. What was extracted is
E:\Temp\{453CF38A-AA1D-4D7F-8667-4D08A3A9D070}
and under there is a file with the correct name:
E:\Temp\{453CF38A-AA1D-4D7F-8667-4D08A3A9D070}\Acrobat_DC_Web_WWMUI\Adobe Acrobat\AcroPro.msi
But when I choose that, it claims that it's "not a valid installation package for the product Adobe Acrobat XI Pro".
If I run the MSI or the Setup.exe (in the same directory) directly, it asks for a Serial Number.Hi JMDlugosz,
What version of Acrobat do you currently have on your system.. Acrobat XI or DC?
Moreover, What os version are you using? Have you have installed OS on E:\ drive?

Bill@VT has the correct troubleshooting procedure though. Download the update and try updating locally rather than through the ARM updater. -
How do I fix Error 1602 in Adobe Acrobat X (Windows 8.1)
I just did a clean install of Windows 8.1 (64-bit) on my Dell laptop with 8GB of RAM and an i5 processor.
I then installed Adobe Acrobat X from the Adobe download site and used the product key that I have. The install completed successfully and I've used Acrobat to review and edit a few documents. Everything seems fine.
The issue I'm having is that Acrobat X has downloaded software updates for me to apply. However, when I try to apply them, I click on Install and then receive the following in a dialog box:
Update Failed
An error occurred. Adobe Acrobat Updater will try again later.
Error: 1602
I have researched a fix on-line, but those fixes are for Windows XP and Vista for Acrobat 8 and 9.
I would appreciate any help you all can provide.
Thanks,

Testing plugin in Adobe Acrobat 9.0 Pro
Hi,
I am trying to use Adobe Acrobat 9.0 Pro to test a plug-in I have created.
I have previous loaded and tested this plug-in in Adobe Acrobat 9.0 Pro Extended and it works.
Is there something I need to do to load this plug-in in Acrobat 9.0 Pro?
Thanks,
Jesse PerryBernd,
I have a test box with Adobe Acrobat 9.0 Pro Extended installed which I have used for testing with this plug-in for 3 months. I developed this code using Visual Studio 2005. The plug-in works on this system. I loaded Adobe Acrobat 9.0 Pro on another test machine and copied the same plugin to the plug_ins directory of this machine from the Pro Extended plug_ins directory on the previous machine. When I start Acrobat 9.0 Pro, I don't see the menu that I created for the plug-in as I do on the original test machine.
Is it wrong to test it on a different machine from where it was compiled?

In Adobe Acrobat 9 (Wndows 7) which I have been using for a long time now it says I cannot use it withoutv repairing. It instructs me to uninstall & reinstall...
I have not run into this yet with my AA9 and Win7, but have been seeing posts about it. I would try a repair before I would do an uninstall and reinstall. You might also turn off javascript for a bit in case there has been some javascript that has caused problems (ok, making wild guesses). If you do decide to uninstall, be sure to deactivate first, uninstall, run http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html, and remove any left over parts of the Acrobat folder. Then proceed to the reinstall and updates.
There is a question about whether being able to use it is correct, or you are just getting some message that is a spam that somehow got into your system (again, a possible javascript issue). Besides turning off javascript, you could also try isolating the javascripts to moving them to a temporary directory and seeing if one is causing the problem. -
Adobe Acrobat Pro XI is having some issues. When just the base program opens it freezes before I can even do anything with preferences. The same thing happens when I open a PDF document from anywhere. I have cleared the %temp% directory and repair installed the program with no success in finding a resolution to this issue. I have removed Adobe AIR as a thread indicated that this program could be the cause of some issues. I even restarted the print spooler as that was mentioned in a different post on Adobe Support Forums.
I would suggest rebooting (particularly if you have not) and log in as the administrator. Also, it sounds like you can open Acrobat, but then it locks up when you try to do the preferences. So in that case go to Help>Repair and apply that. Then repeat the process with Help>Updates to get current. See if that resolves the issues. Since you mentioned %temp%, I assume you are on a windows machine, but which one?

I recently did a clean install on a 2011 MacBook Pro with Mavericks. Went to install Adobe Acrobat 9 with the DVD media and about 3/4 of the way through the install, the install stopped and the following window appeared: The Finder can't complete the operation because some data in "Adobe Acrobat" can't be read or written. (Error code - 36). I've tried to install a few times and get the same message. Is Adobe Acrobat 9 incompatible with Mavericks. I've seen some posts on Apple Support Communities indicating that it is indeed compatible, but no explanation why the error pops up.
The hard drive may be dying anyway, or the directory damaged because it is so full. You should never let the hard drive get over 85% full.
A -36 error is a read/write error.
All you did with the power is reset the SMC. Does nothing to reset everything to factory settings.
Do you have your original 10.4 installer discs for the MacBook?
Is your data backed up? -
Hi,
I've a hyperlink of PDF file which is uploaded under SharePoint Document library(hosted at Office365 E1) on my custom '../SitePages/Approver.aspx'. Once user click on that hyperlink it should ask me to "Check-Out & Open' pdf file directly from sharePoint document library then it should automatically gets opened into 'Adobe Acrobat' where user will do some annotation/ comments in that pdf file & again 'Check-In' back his changes to SharePoint Document library.
Following article will explain how I want to Check-In & Check-Out pdf files from SharePoint document library once i click hyperlink on my '../SitePages/Approver.aspx' page.

Please let me know how to achieve this functionality using office 365.
Your assistance would be greatly appreciated as this is top-priority requirement for us.
