Programs running on 6.5 do not run on 7.0 Pro

I recently upgraded to Quick Time Pro 7.0. Programs that used to run on 6.5 no longer run under 7.0 Pro. There has been a lot of discussion on that company's support web site and they sent me the following message, stating that Apple and Marcomedia need to provide a fix. I am wondering if this fix is in the works and whether there is a target date.
I'm sorry to hear about the problems that you are having with Quicktime. Unfortunately it isn't possible to create a patch that will take care of this problem. There were some features removed from Quicktime in version 7 that are essential for the program to run.
Right now the easiest solution seems to be switching back and forth between Quicktime 6.5 and 7. So installing 6.5 when you want to use the game, and 7 when you want to use the Pro features. Obviously it's not an ideal solution, but right now it's about the only one available.
Again, I apologize for my inability to offer a better solution than either of these, but for now, it really depends on Apple and Macromedia figuring out a fix for the problem and releasing an updated version of the software.

Is there anyone from technical support monitoring these forums? I have yet to find anyone who can even tell us whether they are aware of the issue or what is being done to remedy the issue. It has been over one month and the silence from both Apple and from Wild Divind is quite frustrating. Worse still is that users are being forced to rely on these forums for support and have no way to speaking to a technical support or customer service representative.

Perhaps let's first try updating your Apple Software Update.
Launch Apple Software Update ("Start > All Programs > Apple Software Update"). Does it launch and offer you a newer version of Apple Software Update? If so, choose to install just that update to Apple Software Update. (Deselect any other software offered at the same time.)
If the ASU update goes through okay, try another iTunes install. Does it go through without the errors this time?

After reading all these posts, one by one did not resolve my problem until I got the very end. Regardless of what step would resolve your problem, these are the steps I would recomment to everyone for a what seems to be a safe and fool-proof upgrade to iTunes 10.5.
1. Stand alone upgrade to the latest Quicktime version
2. Go to control panel and "change" then select repair to the following applications in the order specified by the post on Oct 27. (Notice I skipped Quicktime because it had been upgrade manually,and Bonjour did not have a "repair" option)
iTunes; Apple Software Update: Mobile Device Support; Apple Applications Support
Some of these applications may not appear if they do not apply to your configuration (no iPhone, or no iPad, or other apple devices).
Once all updated, I did not need to restart nor launch any applications, I simply went straight into the 10.5 upgrade, and where it normally got stuck, this time the installation continued for a while longer until it completed successfully.

I am experiencing the exact same issue during the installtion process for iTunes 10.5.

Yes, I had found a similar solution also. I'm running XP Pro, SP3. I went Control Panels/ Add-Remove programmes/apple software update/ change/ repair. Then run the 10.5 exe.
While the programme updated from version 8 of iTunes, my new iTunes is now a mess. Not all of my music was in the same folder previously but it all showed up on iTunes. Now many albums have been left out, some have only a few tracks and some have two copies of some tracks as well as having other tracks missing. I haven't begun to work on that.

I'm testing 32bit software that will run in 7-64 Pro but will not in win 7 home premium or vista.
The 7-64 Pro machine is NOT running the program in XP mode although is is being run as admin. The 7 home premium and vista beta testers have tried every work around/mode, admin mode, and anti-virus exception. I've run process explorer & WinMerge to evaluate
the differences between os operations & dlls loaded but am unable to find the OS issue.
Currently 2-win7-64 machines, 1 vista machine and 1 win 7 machine had no issues with the program as it started up and ran immediately.
After 3 beta's 30 hours of testing & 50 of my own, I believe I've narrowed the issue down to the win 7 home premium and vista os's.
Can anyone here suggest other ways to further narrow it down so as to provide functionality on all 3 os's?

"GUI Download" not working if program run background

Dear All,
I`ve created program to download my internal table using function module GUI_DOWNLOAD and it works fine if run foreground. The problem is now when the program run background it didn`t work and got error "Could not ascertain code page".
Or maybe somebody hv another idea how to download that data to frontend drive but the program should run background.

Cannot install iTunes 10.7 on Windows 7. Getting "a program required for this install could not be run"--Apple Software Update is not installed, so updating it is not a possible solution.

I was following the process of unistalling all Apple software and reinstalling iTunes. But I am getting an error that says "a program required for this install could not be run."
Other threads recommend updating the Apple Software Update module, but that was uninstalled. So if it's part of the problem, updating it is not a solution.
Windows 7, 64-bit, SP 1 installed.

For what it's worth, at the point the installation fails, Bonjour, Apple Application Support, and Apple Mobile Device Support all show as installed on Control Panel. Apple Software Update has a link on the Start Menu but does NOT show as installed on Control Panel. Is there a way to install this separately from iTunes?
