Progress Bar of UPK topic

Hi friends,
Is it possible to add a progress bar when user play the UPK topic? It could be looks like the one for viewlets builder or adobe captivate works.
Thank you.
Best regards,
Ning

Thanks for your reply Thomas.
Actually the problem is in my case user will implement the method which I want to profile so I don't have any control on implementation of the method.
According to your reply what I understood is implement the method in such a way that through another method I can get the completion report e.g with some counter variable which I will increase accordingly in the method implementation, but this will not work in my case.
Can I get the report through some programming at JVM level or byte code level ?

  • Lion 10.7 gray progress bar appears under Apple logo on startup.  Slow to boot to login prompt or Finder

    iMac Troubleshooting topics section shows this topic for SnowLeopard10.6 and suggests that there may be a hard disk problem.  Recommendation was to startup iMac from the 10.6 install disk and use Disk Utility to attempt to repair the hard disk.  Lion 10.7.2 was downloaded so there is no disk to attempt this repair with.  Any suggestions or experience with the gray cloth screen in Lion and a progress bar under the Apple logo on boot up?  It seems to take a lot longer to boot up now to get a login prompt or desktop than when it was fresh out of the box in July 2011 with Snow Leopard 10.6  Thanks for your help!

  • Help With Zen Vision:M 30G, lost alot of music, "rebuilding" progress bar doesnt fin

    I purchased my Zen Vision:M 30GB player about 5 months ago and its been great untill today I turned it on and it froze, so i hit the reset button.
    Heres the thingI reset it and that "Rebuilding" progress bar poped up like it has in the past when i hit reset?But this time the progress bar only got about? /6th of the way full, before the unit returned to its normal menu, and i went to look at my music and about 90% of it is gone! Ive done a restart in the past and the rebuilding progress bar would have to fill up all the way before it would go to the normal menu and i had no problems with it then, just today it started doing the thing where it would only go /6th the way. Heres the weird stuff,I went to look at the system information to look how much memory was left and based on the numbers, my 90% of missing music should still be on there somewhere. I tried connecting it to my computer and all the sudden now my computer decides to recognize it but The Creative Media Explorer will say its not connected, that is a first for me too?I tried doing that system recovery thing, where i did the scan disk but that did not help at all. Everytime i try to re-boot or re-start it does that thing where the "Rebuilding" progress bar only goes /6th of the way before it goes back to the normal menu, i think that has somthing to do with it. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated?Message Edited by Lowalkoroc on 03-7-20070:20 PM

    I was just about to post a topic about this. I had the same problem and after numerous efforts I decided to follow the "Format (All)" instructions [url="http://forums.creative.com/creativelabs/board/message?board.id=dap&message.id=5530#M5530">here[/url]. After a reformat, a reboot, and a reload of all my songs everything is working again. Thank the Lord and the Creative forums.

  • Issues with publishing my iWeb site to .MAC - Progress bar freezes at 100%

    Well, as topic says, i'm having troubles publishing my iWeb site to .MAC now since upgrading to '08. The progress bar reaches full circle, but then nothing. Left it uploading to .Mac for well over 2 hours one time while out of the house...nada. Sometimes i get an error message, sometimes not and have to close iWeb while it's still publishing.
    Any feedback regarding this?
    Thanks in advance.
    /Rich

    Update: After 36 hours, I have successfully managed to upload my entire website via the "Publish All to .Mac" option. I now have blue indicators on the left side of my iWeb program in place of those pesky red ones. How did I do it? Well, I'm not sure. But on my last attempt I looked at the problem from a different perspective, so I took an alternate approach. I had a feeling that I was experiencing a network timeout issue caused by a 3rd party software, so I created a Whitelist entry on my website filtering software that allows unlimited access to "idisk.mac.com";; and "web.mac.com";; domains. I've got two kids at home, so I'm running the free OpenDNS Dashboard service on my network which provides content filtering (blocks adult site, phishing site, etc..). I started using this service two weeks ago. My last website update was a week before that. I figured I had nothing to loose by trying. To my surprise, it worked. Now, it took almost two hours to publish, of which the pie indicator was in the  "filled" position for a nerve racking hour. To reconfirm,  I then made a minor change to one of the pages on my website and re-published. This time using the "Publish to .Mac" option in place of the ALL option and once again it worked. It took less than 5 minutes. Now, I'm not sure if this is a coincidence, maybe Apple fixed the problem, or maybe my website filtering service was causing some type of time out issue all along??  Don't know.. But at least for now, I'm a happy camper since I have my site up.

  • Progress bar for unmarshalling?

    Hi all,
    Can anyone give me an idea on how to track unmarshalling with progress bar.
    Here is a situation: I'm unmarsalling XML file to get my working object(s).
    Object obj = unmarshaller.unmarshal(file)Anyway, for big files I would like to present a user with some progressbar which
    will indicate loading progress.
    Is this doable?
    Thanks

    If you are trying to update the progress bar display when your upload is 10%, 20%, , , x% complete, then you have to 'pretend' that the progress bar display corresponds to the percentage completness of your file upload. I believe that there is no other way to get around this without comprimising the speed of your upload.

  • Has anyone seen the Search progress bar fail to update as the search is processed?

    I recently upgraded from RH9 to RH10 (10.0.1.292). I applied all of the maintenance for RH10 listed on William van Weelden's site and generated WebHelp output. When viewing the output on the server through a browser, I occasionally see a delay in producing the search results list, but the Search progress bar never moves from Searching 0% while the search is executing and finally the search results list is displayed. Has anyone else experienced this?
    P.S. This may be irrelevant to this issue, but I can use the same search arguments at different times throughout the day and get the same results list of 700+ topics in 2 seconds or in some cases two minutes. I have attributed the difference in elapsed time to server workload or network resources. Could it be problem with a script file?

  • Progress bar for chart dataProvider?

    I have a chart which has for dataProvider a link to a php

    The processing takes a little bit of time so from flex the

    If I load the script directly from the browser, the browser's

  • Any alternative to Flash progress bar?

    I was wondering if anyone knows of an alternative to the
    Flash Player progress bar (javascript would be acceptable)? Or
    would I have to import a project into Flash to have this feature.
    What I envision would be text to the effect of "slide x of
    xx" or something like that. A method of telling the student that
    they are a specific number of slides into a lesson that has a total
    number of slides in the lesson.
    I seem to remember that quiz slides have something like this.
    This is probably something for my wish list.

  • Progress bar for Export-SPWeb

    I have a huge amount of sites (900+) that I have created ps1 scripts for and they run great, the only thing I would like to add is a progress bar to the script. With over 600g of data, it would be nice to have it there. I have checked out several other
    examples, but they appear to only do counts of the files.  Anyone have a cookie cutter solution?

  • Loading dataprovider progress bar possible?

    Gidday
    I'm loading data out of SQLLite into an array in my AIR app, ready to populate a datagrid once the SELECT hs been successful:
    data_grid.dataProvider = new DataProvider(evt.data)
    It works really well, but I was wondering if there is a way to display progress?
    50 000 rows takes a couple of seconds to populate, and I'm catering for up to 200 000 rows.
    Is it possible to directly monitor progress of SELECT queries, and then for Flash to populate a dataProvider, or is it a case of having to split up the query into chunks of say, 10 000 rows, break, update a progress bar, then go back for the next SELECT?
    Also - similar topic - is it possible to set up progress for browseForDirectory type operations? I'm loading in large filelists and parsing the file names. I have set up progress tracking once the parsing starts, but cannot seem to do the same after the Event.SELECT listener kicks in, and I run this code in a function:
    var f1:Array = d1.getDirectoryListing();
            var len:int = f1.length;
            for(var i:int = 0; i < len; i++) {
                f2.push(f1[i].name); //if current item in f1 array is a file, push it onto the f2 array
                f3.push(f1[i].nativePath);//save location of file
                if (f1[i].isDirectory) {
                    gL(f1[i]);
    Thanks guys!

    you can't display the progress of any single select query.  the best you can do is to break the select into several "chunks" or warn the user that your app will be unresponsive for some period of time.
    here's the general idea with chunking:
    Chunks
    For example, if you have a for-loop that takes 10 seconds to execute, your game will appear to freeze for 10 seconds after this loop starts. Nothing will update on stage and nothing will respond to user input. Either you should warn your user before starting that loop or you should break that loop into several smaller chunks that allow visual updates to the user so they do not think your game is broken.
    For example, this for-loop that adds odd numbers (and shows the first m odd numbers sum to m*m) freezes my Flash Player for about 9 seconds.
    var i:Number;
    var n:Number=3000000000;
    var s:Number=0;
    var startI:Number=1;
    var endI:Number=n
    var startTime:int=getTimer();
    for (i=startI; i<endI; i+=2) {
           s+=i;
    // 9 seconds
    trace((getTimer()-startTime)/1000,s,n*n/4,s-n*n/4);
    The following technique shows how to break this (and any other for-loop) into chunks that allow the Flash Player to update every second.
    var i:Number;
    var n:Number=3000000000;
    var s:Number=0;
    var startTime:int=getTimer();
    // This is the number chunks into which the previous for-loop will broken. If the // previous for-loop took about 9 seconds, using 10 chunks means there will be updates // about every 0.9 seconds.
    var chunks:int=10;
    var startI:Number=1;
    var endI:Number=n/chunks;
    var t:Timer=new Timer(100,1);
    t.addEventListener(TimerEvent.TIMER,f);
    f();
    function f(e:Event=null):void {
           for (i=startI; i<endI; i+=2) {
                  s+=i;
           trace("stage update",startI,endI,s);
           if (endI<n) {
                  t.reset();
                  t.start();
           } else {
                  trace((getTimer()-startTime)/1000,s,n*n/4,s-n*n/4);
           startI+=n/chunks;
           endI+=n/chunks;

  • Slow boot on mbp running 10.6.4 with progress bar

    Hi
    My Macbook pro running 10.6.4 has recently become slow on boot up.
    When i do a clean boot or restart i see a progress bar on the apple logo which now seems to take a minute or so to load.
    I've never seen this before.
    I've tried things such as PRAM reset, cache clears, etc
    disk utility isn't showing any hard drive errors
    any suggestions?
    Ian

    Hi I,
    You can check for any boot arguments in your /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist
    If you have any Kernel Flags your Mac will observe it when booting, mine has no Kernel Flags.
    You can read about it by using de command line "man com.apple.Boot.plist" in your /Applications/Utilities/Terminal application. After reading hit Q key to quit the manual displaying and use "exit" before quitting Terminal.
    I made a quick search and found this 54 replies topic here, it seams to be an update issue, check it out, http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2141922&tstart=1
    Good luck.

    If I copy your code into a text editor (Textpad, not Notepad), the minus signs in those equations appear to be something other than ascii-text.  I get the small dark vertical rectangles in their place.  So that is probably the issue.
    I f I use Notepad they appear normally though.  And I don't see anything wrong with the code syntax per the intent.

    If you want a realtime 0-100% progress bar, have a look to RichFaces. They have such a component.
    Also if possible put in your code snippet. I would appreciate it a lot. This is not a code factory or so. Start your own topic where in you elaborate the problem [the smart way|http://catb.org/esr/faqs/smart-questions.html].
