Project 1 not linking to project 2
Good morning. I have a project that I am linking to a second
project. At first it seemed to do it fine, but then I made changes
on the second project and relinked it via url. When I preview the
project, it links to the old version of project 2 and not the new
one. Any ideas why this is happening?

Hi there captivating1
The only real explanation for this is that you have multiple
copies of the Captivate 2 output. You may have added to it and
created fresh output, but my guess is that you are actually
pointing from your Captivate 1 project to a location you forgot to
copy the Captivate 2 output to.
I'd be double-checking where the files are.

(OR) Use Tcode: SI80 to find any document in SAP Solution Manager KW.

Hi,
I needed to go back to a project I left last summer, 10 different videos on a specific topic, and to my shock, the project files aren´t showing up in Final Cut. The original files / Event files seem to be all there and I have saved master files of the movies I made, but some were only saved at 480.
Searching the hard drive, I´m pretty sure I can see them - if they are the Render Files / High Quality Media etc...? But they´re in the Movie folder, not in FCX projects and they´re not linking to the Project Library in the editing software.
The reason for this I can think of, is that I possibly edited them in the Trial version of FCX, and now have installed the full upgrade. Or, I could simply have moved them over when I didn´t understand how it all worked (and still don´t ;-) and the link has been lost.
I assume I should just be able to transfer them in to the Project folder in Final Cut Pro...?
If it´s something to do with the Trial version - I seem to not have deleted it yet - should I start with deleting it or could that do further damage (can´t see what help it´s doing now anyway!)
I´m petrified of losing the files completely as I´m not very savvy with how the data links between files and project etc, any advice warmly welcome!!
I can send screen capture of file extensions etc if that helps clarify what files they are and how they should be linked back.
Thanks!If your project files aren't being seen by the app, it's likely that they were moved.
If located on the start-up drive, they should be in Movies>Final Cut Projects>your project. Otherwise FCP won't see them. The actual project file is named CurrentVersion.fcp.
On a non-start-up drive, the Final Cut Projects folder needs to be at the root level for FCP to see it.
The same thing goes for the Final Cut Events folder.
So check those folders to make sure they're in the right places on your system.

If I create a note about an email, the note is not linked to that email? What's the point then? Doesn't that seem like an important link that should be attached? Note to email.
In Tiger I would flag emails. I hoped notes were the answer.
And I avoided MailTags too. Waiting for Leopard. I guess MailTags is something I may need then. Attached emails to key words or projects.

Hey, I just reconnected my harddive and opened this project to render it and now the files are not linking. I may have saved it while it was unlinking, would that prevent me from relinking the files now?
Continuing post, because the issue I am having cannot be solved by the preceding instructions.
A clip is offline, I was troubleshooting an application error and suspected that the file was the culprate. Now that I'd like to relink the media, there are no available options. Usually I can relink when launching the software and since the file has been saved with it offline, the option does not appear when openning the app. Right-clicking on the file in the bin produces only unavailable options: relink/replace are both grayed out.
Is there any other way to relink or otherwise, replace edited clips in the project?

WD Hard drive not linking files to final cut
Hello,
First time to the forum. I need help with this. I was adding a sound track to my completed feature length film when the worst nightmare in my life happened. I lost all of my footage during a shut down of Western Digital during editing. (not completely). For no reason the hard drive just turned itself off and I recieved an error message that "device removal error, the hard drive was not properly shut down and so on"........ didn't think of it much so I simply turned it back on and continued what I was doing. After saving my work and shutting down for a few hours I went back at it only to discover that my original timeline was not saved and I got a new user interface. I saw the clips I transferred in but one folder was completely gone along with my audio and stills. When I launced Final Cut I got this big fat message that there was media offline do I wish to reconnect. Everything was there but the sequence I was last working on. Frustrated I simply powered down and then re launced only to get more of a mess. After spending hours and trying to figure out what went wrong, I simply re-loaded final cut. The files are there on my hard drive but they are not linking. Is there a way to re-link these files? Is there some corrupt media? or is the hard drive simply no good. I only had it for a few months. I did a disk utility repair check and it says "Disk is working properly" This drive was bought to replace a Maxtor that crased on me as well. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated. Final Cut ROCKS!

TANWelcome to the forums. If I'm understanding you, your project file is not gone, but reverted back to a version from a while back. For your project file not being all there, do a search and make sure that there aren't any autosave files anywhere. As for your media files being offline, if they are on your WD drive, just reconnect them in the browser. Check the FCP Manual: IV-68

Button Not Linked but Properties Menu says it is Help Please!
On one of my menu previous buttons I have linked it to the menu it needs to go to. I have verified this several times in the properties menu. Yet everytime I go to check the project in build it tells me it is not linked. In fact it does not work and I can't figure out why. I have tried to clear it recreate and position the button and relink it but no luck. I am only having this problem with this one button. I am stupmed any help would be greatly appreciated.

LauriYes I did look for another button. Anyway I looked in the flow chart and saw it was not linked so I link it and now it seems to work, This is my very first project in Encore so it is a big learning process. I am going to burn this to disc now and see how everything goes. Quick question for you if you don't mind. Do I need to render the project everytime before I create a dvd or will the settings stay as long as I don't alter the project?

Tutor: Adding a Prior Activity that does not link to a document
When the docs are published, the Prior Activities come across as broken links if a document filename is not included in the formatting.
Is there a way around this so that if someone clicks on a prior activity which is not linked to a document, it doesn't do anything - rather than appearing as a broken link?

Check if the data is there in the data target on which your report is based.
Check to see if this data is available for reporting.
Check to see if you have auth to view this data.
Check if there are any filters or restrictions in the query that would prevent the data from being displayed.
Check the data through LISTCUBE transaction.

I started my first Apple ID a few years back, at which point Google hadn't changed their email addresses from '@googlemail.com' to 'gmail.com'. So when this option became available, I decided to change my email to '[email protected]', instead of the older and more tedious to write '@googlemail.com'. There were no problems, everything worked as expected.
I've recently changed my password everywhere, and one of the places was my Apple ID. I was taken to the site: "https://appleid.apple.com" where I found the 'Manage my account' link. I successfully changed my password.
The 'Apple ID and Primary Email Address' caught my eye. It had always frustrated me that my Apple ID was the "old" email address from Google... and previous attempts to change this proved unsuccessful. It always stated that the (newer) '[email protected]' was already in use, which I put down to it being the same Google account. But this time it seemed to work. I received an email saying "Welcome to the iTunes Store", and since then I've had non-stop problems.
At first I though that the only problem was going to be that I couldn't download/update apps on my iPod touch, or download anything on the iPod's 'iTunes' store. I've managed to link my new account with the iPod so that I can download new apps on it, but every time I go to update an app, it automatically assumes that the Apple ID is my old account: '[email protected]'. I thought that this would be fine, just a minor inconvenience, that I could go to my computer, update the apps there, then sync the iPod and everything would be dandy.
I looked around and found myself at the IFORGOT site of Apple's. I've tried having an email sent to the 'older' Apple ID '[email protected]', but no email has come through, and I also tried the other option of answering security questions... the first thing it asks is your date of birth, and as far as I know, I only have one of those. However, it told me my DOB was incorrect. My old account no longer seems to exist!!
I tried updating the apps on my computer for the first time today, went to the 'Apps' tab on the left of iTunes and clicked the link saying '131 Updates Available'. This took me to the iTunes store as always, but when it had finished loading, it read: "No updates are currently available. To check for updates for another Apple ID, sign in with that Apple ID."
Because all of the apps I downloaded were on my old Apple account, none of them exist as far as my new account is concerned. My old account no longer exists, so I have no option to sign in to that and update them. My collection of apps is far too large for me to even consider just downloading them all again! As well as apps not existing, my iPod touch is not linked to my new Account. I understand I could restore my it so that it would then be linked to it, but actually, I don't want to have to arrange the homescreen again, and re-connect to all the WiFi connections I've already made. Those are all saved in the backup that is updated when it is synchronised.
Someone please help!! I don't know what to do, and I don't know how to get hold of Apple!!

Why did you start a new account?
You apps and other purchases will always be tied to the accoutn from which they were purchased. You will have to update them using the user id and password on the accoutn from which they were purchased.
The charge was very likley a authorization hold and will be removed.

ICal events disappeared (not linked to MobileMe or iCloud)
Hello,
I run iCal 4.0.4 with MacOSX 10.6.8.
I recently noted that all events before 6 May 2011 have disappeared and I don't know why.
The preferences are not set with the 'Delete events ?? days after they have passed' (the box is not ticked).
I did a test yesterday looking if the events where disappearing but that is not the case, so this morning events after the 6 May 2011 still there.
My iCal is not linked to ModileMe or iCloud in any way.
Where are the events before 6 May have gone? Can I retrieve them? Would events continue to disappear?
Any help is much appreciated.
ThanksYou need to ensure that each device (including the MBP) is using iCal from iCloud (NOT a local version of iCal). Using the MBP as an example, click on the Calendars icon in the upper left corner and look for something similar to the following:
If it does not say ICLOUD at the top, there's your problem. Post back and we'll go from there. -
I moved my iTunes files from my old computer to an external hard drive. I then moved those files to the new computer. My computer and iPad are not linking up (recognizing each other?). I installed the latest version of iTunes onto the new computer to see if that would help. It did not--I got the message that an iPad can only be linked up with one computer and the new download would not work with this iPod. So the iTunes' library and my iPod are not connecting, and I have no way of installing or removing new songs onto my iPad. What should I do to correct this?

After upgrading my iPhone 4S to iOS6, my Find My Friends app no longer links to my Contacts and does not show contact names. It only shows e-mail addresses and does not link up to the corresponding email address in my Contacts. How can I fix this?
I am also having problems with a site I am building. No matter what websafe font I use it displays as New Times Roman in FireFox. The correct fonts show in both IE9 and Chrome.
In addition, text shifts in FireFox. I have to position other text objects farther and farther apart as I go down the page or they start to overlap. Nav buttons and other images also have to be positioned in the wrong place for them to be in the correct place when the page is opened in FireFox. FireFox should display pages correctly by default. I can't expect th average user to have to tweek his/her settings to display my site.
I have been recommending FireFox on my website as the best browser. I might have to change that and abandon FireFox myself. -
My hp all in one printer will not link to my new router.
I have a hp all in one printer deskjet 3510 model and i just got a new belkin N600 router and they will not link for wireless printing. The printer just times out when I try to get them to link. I use the push button setup because thats what i have. How can i get them to link. I had no problem with my old router it was a linksys.

Our Windows PC crashed with all our music on it. There are copies of both purchased (thru iTunes store) and from our own CDs on an external HD in a backup file. They are not linked to a Media file. Is there any way I can put this music on my new computer?
