Project Accounting Systems Module

Can anyone explain the differences between project accounting system and project sytems module. Are they both the same module? Also, where can I find all the financial data against the project including revenue, profit etc.

It is the same module abbreviated as PS. Accounting "submodule" is mostly about integrating with financial modules such as FI, CO, AA, IM, while logistics part is about PS integration with modules like MM, SD, PP, PM.
If you are familiar with Controlling (CO) module, the concept is very much the same. PS provides a number of objects that can be used as cost account assignment objects, for which you can report similar to Cost Centers or Internal orders.
There are a lot of other specifics, but since your question is quite general, the answer is also of a general nature.

Lack of modularity in Projects for EJB module

Problem
For a project you have many enterprise bean components. In JDeveloper, currently, all the information like persistence-type,
resource-reference, etc reside in the ejb-jar.xml which is project specific.
(1) In the real-world, developers work on different modules with small individual work spaces with a small number of
enterprise components and web compoents with a CVS system to manage version of the source code
(2) The developer works on the source and check it in the CVS repository
(3) A packager will take components from the CVS repository and make a build for a customer according to the order
(Build-to-Order approach)
(4) In JDeveloper he might have to make the ejb-jar.xml again which is very cumbersome and timeconsuming
Suggestion
(1) The current system of maintaining ejb-jar.xml in the project is OK
(2) But the information in the ejb-jar xml ABOUT EACH EJB COMPONENT should also be maintained at the EJB component level like
a small ejb-jar.xml file specific to the one and only one component.
(3) Whenever the EJB component id edited, this modular ejb-jar.xml file will be edited too.
(4) Later while making the main ejb-jar xml for deployment, the info in these small modular xml files will be read, the main
project level ejb-jar xml will be prepared.
(5) The main project level ejb-jar.xml can also be prepared when the project is rebuilt (clean/force compile) and all te
small modular files are updated.

Yes we do read every OTN message, though we often have some internal discussion before we post a reply.
In your specific situation, you could just break up the EJBs into different projects:
- Each EJB module in a separate project.
- Each EJB project builds a separate EJB JAR.
- When assembling the EAR, pull in as many EJB JAR files as necessary to support the WAR and other pieces.
JDeveloper already has support for the above setup. Starting with JDev 9.0.3, you can also establish dependencies between projects to make the classes built by one project visible to another project's classpath.
For us to implement a complete solution where small ejb-jar.xml files are merged into one large ejb-jar.xml file, we'd like to understand how you'd go about resolving conflicts in elements being merged:
- conflicting <method-permission>
- conflicting <container-transaction>
- conflicting <relationship-role>
- conflicting <env-entry>
- ... a number of other potential conflicts ...
We could do automatic merges when there are no conflicts. For the situations where there are conflicts, can you describe some solutions that you would consider acceptable?

Iam trying in different ways, it is showing error msgs, if any body have WEB ADI R12 exp, please guide me.

What are the setups need to do, i have user guide but unable to solve my probelm..

As you suggested above, I tried to set the DQM Synchronization Method Profile Option to Batch using System Administrator responsibility but could not as the Profile Option is read only at all levels- Site, Application, Responsibility,User,etc. Please what am I doing wrong ? Thanks

I deal much more in the server & development certifications. The Oracle Applications side is a big grey blur to me. That said, I don't see any that are specific to Project Accounting and Costing. I would guess one of the 'Fusion Financials' certifications would best fit your needs. You would have to make the decidion on which one -- I can't do that for you.

An error occurred when connecting to the accounting system ID3DEV310

Hi Friends,
We are Implementing collaboration project 4.5 and want to link with project system in ECC 6.0. Both these are in the different servers.
I have done the configuration on both the servers and also maintain the RFC (ID3DEV310) in Object Links.
When I create or open the existing project I get the following error: "An error occurred when connecting to the accounting system ID3DEV310"
Costing Variant taken is PS01 (Project Planning).

I have assigned the RFC destination and web server to the object type: "0WBSELEMENT" only
Also the same has been done for define Object links for accounting integration "0FIN_INT_ERP_PS"

You want to create a site in the sense, website? Website to prepare P&L stmt? FYI, Accounting entries are country dependent and not generic. Your country will have guidelines defined on your country's GAAP(Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Moreover you can only prepare Balance Sheet and P&L Stmt using a trial balance sheet. Where do you give the input as trial balance sheet? Please elaborate your requirement.

Which Sun Fire x64 should I purchase to run Logisitcs and Accounting System

I have a project that required to develop and deploy in-house build Logistics Management System and Accounting System into one system.
Is there anyone out there could advise on following components that best suite to Sun Fire x64 Server?
Project nature: Logistics Management System + Accounting System.
1. Web Application: Java 6, Java JSF, Apache + Tomcat 6.
2. Database: Oracle 9i R2.
3. Concurrent users 300 hits via Internet DSL and Lease-Line.
4. Hosted at in-house Server room.
Initial recommendation on server spec.
1. OS: Open SuSE 10.x or SUN Solaris 10(with definite support Oracle 9i R2 - non cluster?)
2. AMD CPU?
3. Size of RAM?
4. One or two boxes(Does it required FC between two server connectivity)?

You should really contact a Sun salesperson (or reseller) about that. They can step you through the process of selecting an appropriately sized server.

I have successfully installed Primavera Unifier R9.12 on my system. I had searched a lot but I didnt find any document which tells you how to upload capital planning/cost control/project delivery management module in Primavera Unifier R9.12. Can anyone pls share the steps or document.

I'd love to help you in this area but i only know the product from a tech/install side of things.
My functional colleagues had the exact same gripe that you have regarding sample data - unfortunately with the way Unifier is designed in regards to it being both customizable and difficult to delete/change some objects it doesn't quite lend itself to having sample data the way P6 does.

OBAW Schema / ETL Mappings for Project Accounting

Hello - We have done our Oracle Financial Analytics deployment using OBAW / Oracle Apps 7.9.5 and wanted to see how i can get more information about the Project Accounting module.
Anyone can share information about PA (Project Accounting)? It will help tremendeously if someone will share the spreadsheet "BI Apps 7.9.5 - ETL Data Lineage" specifically for Project Accounting module. Or, schema or ETL information.

How do I share tabs between my different Firefox installations using the new Firefox Accounts system?

I am using Firefox Nightly (30.a1, 2014-02-18, x64) on my laptop computer (Windows 8.1 Pro x64) and I was using Firefox Beta on my Nexus 5 (Android 4.4.2). Recently, Mozilla announced the new Firefox Accounts system (which is replacing the old Firefox Sync Account) and I created a Firefox Account for my laptop Nightly installation. Since the new Firefox Account doesn't work with the old Firefox Sync Account, I replaced my Android installation of Firefox Beta with Firefox Nightly and signed into Firefox Account on my Android. However, when I attempt to send a tab from my Android installation to my laptop installation using the "Share to Nightly" intent, Nightly asks me to set up a Sync account, which is impossible to complete in my laptop Nightly installation. I've tried replacing my Android Nightly installation with an Android Aurora installation, but the same problem occurs.
What's worse is that even with both my laptop and Android installations signed into the same Firefox Account, I cannot see any information being synced between the 2 installations. No history is being shared, and I cannot see the open tabs list from the other device. I cannot pass tabs between my phone and my laptop, which is something I used every week as I visited websites and read my RSS feeds on my phone. Does anyone know how to share tabs using the new Firefox Accounts? Does anyone know why Firefox Accounts does not seem to be syncing data between my 2 installations?

Project Management System In Dreamweaver

I'm looking to create project management system in Dreamweaver; similar to MS Outlook, only with an enhanced task hierarchy and detail section.
Does anyone know of examples and / or books where I can see what I'm getting myself into? Even better, does Dreamweaver have a template for this? (I haven't purchased the software yet)

I'm not looking for a full blown project management system; more like an activity (to-do) list in a subject lookup hierarchy, possible with email reminders of what's coming due. (something like expand-collapse subject areas with text, date, name and status fields). I've done something similar in Visual Basic wtih an Access DB holding the information. It doesn't look so great but does the job.

How to Configure Location based Accounts system for a company

My client using SAP B1 2007B PL13.
I am configuring the Accounts part. here My client is involved in manufacturing business. so there are 3 locations like
Location 1: Head Office
Location 2: Factory1 and Warehouse1.
Location 3: Factory2 and Warehouse2.
they are asking the financial report for all three locations to find the expenditure and returns. Under this scenario i am confused to configure the accounts system for them, whether, i have to create a 1) segmentation accounts 2) Profit center and 3)cost center.
can anyone guide me to decide and explain a breif work around for my scenario.

note: number of location will increase in future. so having this in mind , i have to decide the best method to make the process easier to the end user in future times too.
