Project didn't update after upgrade to iMovie 11

I just upgraded to iMovie 11 and my finished movie which was in the projects section didn't transfer over. Other movies in the projects window did but the biggest one and the most complete didn't transter.
Now what. Where can I find that project?

Hi Bonsey,
You asked:
Where can I find that project?
On your internal drive, Events are stored in your User (Home) folder Movies/iMovie Events. Projects are in Movies/iMovie Projects.
On an external drive, Events and Projects are stored at the top level of the drive in iMovie Events and iMovie Projects respectively.
If you are ever looking for your exported (shared) movies, these are stored in the project's package contents folder. To access this, in Finder right-click (or Control-click) on the name of your project and select "Show Package Contents" from the pop-up menu. In the Movies folder you will see your exported movie (or movies). If you wish to use them elsewhere, copy and paste - don't move them from package contents or otherwise disturb items in that folder.
Although this may not help you to get the movie back into iMovie's Project Library, at least you may be able to locate it. If you do locate it, try double-clicking on it, as it may well then load in iMovie.

  • IMovie will not update after upgrading to iOS Yosemite

Have upgraded to Yosemite on iMac and Mac book, but iMovie will not update on either devices...it begins the long update and never seems to complete.  On the iMac it says "no updates available" but the iMovie icon is crossed out on desktop.  Says that version is not compatable.  Macbook is showing an update for iMovie, but have tried several times to update and has not worked yet.  Any suggestions???

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen. Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then take one of the actions that you're having trouble with. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.

  • Problems with updates after upgrading to CS4

I am experiencing update problems after upgrading from CS3 to CS4.
After completing the upgrade, I opened CS4 and then clicked on 'Help' and 'Updates'. The download was 280MB of updates, which duly started to install. However, during the install process, I received the 'installation incomplete' pop-up box and could only continue by clicking on the  ‘Cancel the current update and continue installing…….’ option. At the end, I  shut the machine down.
This morning I have  run the CS4 updates again, this time downloading 80MB (I guess the bits that it  didn’t do last night). When installing, the same 'installation incomplete' popped up three  times.
Any help would be much appreciated.
    Many thanks

    OS?
Are you seeing which componenets are not successful? If no message in the progress window about what is being installed, there is probably a log.
Have you tried going to the website to download the update installer?

  • My apps wont update after upgrading to os 6

    Hi,
After upgrading my IPhone 3GS, it will not download and install apps that need updating. Always worked before the update. Anyone else having this problem?

Spent hours last night performing a complicated restore.
at 2am I finaly got my phone restored to an earlier backup. Apple forces the phone back to IOS6 which took ages.
I saw my old notes, then they disappeared again before I could work with them or at least write them down with a pen and paper.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Surely I am not the only person who didnt sync everything with iCloud but rather relied on iTunes backup...

  • Frozen during library update after upgrade

I know that lots of people have posted about this problem, but I was told that I shouldn't post on their topics and start my own . . . so here goes.
After upgrading to the latest version of itunes, I launch itunes, which then proceeds to update my library. About 75% through the process itunes freezes and does not respond. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall both itunes and quicktime, I have shut down my firewall, I have rebooted, but I can't get anything to work.
I read a thread about problems with compatibility issues with Vista, but I am running XP. So is this an issue with Microsoft? Unfortunately, I am not about to purchase a Mac right now. Has someone found a fix for this issue? PLEASE HELP! I am not especially computer savvy, but I have put in the effort to research this as best as possible and would appreciate some advice!

I've been using Vista with iTunes just fine, even before Apple came out with a "compatible" version. This happened to me upon upgrading to 7.3.1.3. Searching the web I've seen lots of posts from people having this on XP and Mac a couple of years ago. I don't think this is a new problem with Vista.
I tried unistalling the latest version, and going back to 7.2...but it still locked up during library conversion. I did do an experiment where I copied my iTunes directory somewhere else, reinstalled iTunes 7.3, and it opened up fine as a "new" computer. I reversed the process and the problem came back. Right now it looks like the only way to recover is to rebuild my library on a new iTunes install, which is a pain.

  • Project won't load after upgrade to 10.1.3

    Howdy,
I'm working on a series of videos, each in a separate project, but all in the same library.
I did the bulk of the editing in 10.1, but recently upgraded to 10.1.3. FCPX did it's usual "update projects and events" routine when I opened the library in 10.1.3 for the first time. All my projects appear to be fine, except one...
This project is about 30 minutes long, with a handful of different clips – nothing huge...  but it won't load. I get the spinning beach ball for a few minutes, then a system alert saying I've run out of application memory. I check Activity Monitor, and sure enough, FCPX is using over 12GB of RAM! It seems FCPX gets stuck in some sort of loop while trying to load this project, and I'm not sure what to do about it... Any help would be appreciated.
    System info:
    iMac
    OSX 10.9.5
    3.5GHz Core i7
    16GB RAM

OK, I think I resolved my issue. I hadn't noticed that there was one missing media file in the project that wouldn't open. I didn't notice because normally, FCPX would open the project and swap a "missing media" icon for the absent file in the timeline, but in this case it simply refused to open the project. I re-imported the missing file, and now there are two of them in my media browser. If I delete any one of them, they both disappear... Odd.
In any case, my project opens now and that's good. What I don't understand is what happened to that missing file in the first place. I didn't delete it or move it. It seems to have been kicked out of the FCPX database upon upgrade to version 10.1.3, which by itself is a little troubling... and I fear there may still be similar database issues that I haven't discovered yet lurking in other projects
Here's hoping all of FCPX's "growing pains" get resolved soon.
    Thanks for your help, Russ.

  • Problem with App update after upgrade to ios7

    Hi
I have just upgraded to ipads (ipad2 + ipad mini) to ios7.
One thing I have noticed on both.
I updated apps in the app store, now the apps that updated are sitting on the screen, they have been updated, and can be opened.
However in the past once apps had been updated this screen would clear.
I have tried logging out/in in itunes. Hard reset. Restore from itunes.
    Still the same.
How do I refresh this screen.
    Cheers
    Andy.

    Hi
I cannot find it again, but I found a possible answer in another forum.
It is correect. Ios 7 has an option for auto app update.
The information is left on the screen to advise you which apps have been updated. Apparently they will clear after a week, only time will tell.
If I find the link I will repost.
One thing I noticed was that if you delete the app the update notice goes, only to return when you reinstall.......weird.
    Cheers
    Andy.

  • Unable to install Office updates after upgrading 8.0 to 8.1

I have a Windows PC that was upgraded from 8.0 to 8.1 last week. Ever since then there are 39 Office 2013 updates, including SP1, that will not install no matter what I do. The error listed is the dreaded 0x80070643. No Office older than 2013 is installed.
    I've tried so far:
    1. Online repair of Office
    2. Uninstall/reinstall of Office
    3. Windows Update repair x2
    4. DISM /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
    5. Reset Windows Update
    6. .NET repair (removal/reinstall)
There are probably a couple more things I did but I didn't get them written down. I've run out of ideas. Does anyone have any idea on how to get this fixed?
    Jonathan

As it turned out, in addition to Office 2013 Home & Business that I had installed, Office 2013 Pro Plus somehow existed on the computer though the only visible sign of it was in Programs and Features. It wasn't in the Start Menu or in Program
Files. So how it was on there or why it only showed in Programs and Features I don't know, but it was definitely messing up Windows Updates.

  • Can't install updates after upgrading to AP3 :(

    Hi Folks,
I'm on latest rev of Snow leo on a 2009 mac pro quad 2.66.
I finally bought the upgrade to AP3, installed it no problemo, but it won't let me update it.
I think there's something in the system recognizing it as AP 2 b/c i'm receiving the "this update needs AP 3 or later" message.
I saw a post by David Slater long after I did it, but I had migrated some apps from my 2006 mac pro. I'm not using for AP considering i have 2 screens connected to my 2009 pro so I transferred it.
I dragged AP2 into the trash and deleted it, but there are obviously some system files still here (or at least, I think there are to be blocking 3 from being recognized).
I have gone into the library pro apps support and removed the system ID and upon launching AP3, i re-entered my existing AP2 license key then my AP3 key. It launches without issue, but I still can't update via the software update or dloading the files manually.
Lesson has been learned to never migrate pro apps, but in the meantime, what can I do before wanting to uninstall and reinstall 3?
A system rewipe is out of the question as I have some serious video work on the go and can not take the time to be down.
    Cheers,
    keebler

omg. i'm an idiot. i forgot that I had renamed the aperture 3 app name to "Aperture 3.app" b/c I had AP 2 and AP 3 icons. The system had automatically renamed the new AP 3 to " Aperture 1", but I had renamed it.
Anyhoo, turns out that the updates look for specific names so removing the 1 to read "Aperture.app", works.
I'm leaving this up here as reminder that I should have known better and for others to know.
    doh!

  • No video in scrub window after upgrade to imovie '11

I upgraded from ilife '08 to '11 and after the upgrade I never see any video in the preview window. I don't see it when I scrub/skim clips or when I hit play. When I try to export to a file I also don't see anything in the exported file (black screen just like when I try to play it in imovie). I know its a good video because it came off of my iphone 4. I can still hear audio just fine.
In the console logs I see:
*"iMovie[5929] +[QCPlugIn loadPlugInAtPath:]: unrecognized selector sent to class 0xc8d3a0"*
    Followed by:
*iMovie[5929] +[QCComposition compositionWithFile:]: unrecognized selector sent to class 0xc8dce0*
repeated over and over again every time I try to play a video. This happens for all videos.
I have tried the usual. Deleting prefs, deleting caches reinstalling. Does anyone know where I can post a bug and get this fixed?

Couldn't you just delete Quicktime. Delete all the Plugin in /Library/Quicktime and all the Plugins in /Library/Quicktime and reinstall Quicktime from Apple?

  • IPhone didn't update after downloading iOS8 through iTunes

After wasting an entire hour downloading iOS8 through iTunes, nothing happened except that it gave me a note about how the OS didn't install because of something privacy related I think, and now I have to download it all again!
How do I avoid this so that my next download will actually be successful?
Also will the update delete all my Safari tabs?

  • Apps not updating after upgrading to iOS 6

After updating my iPhone 4 to iOS 6, I am unable to update any apps. The App Store says they are downloading, but nothing happens, all the apps say "waiting" underneath them. This has been over four hours now. Anyone have any ideas?

Sadly 3 AppleCare phone calls and a Genius Bar appointment have not helped.
The only possible advice I have been given- and have NOT done yet is a complete restore and set up phone as new.
I am a bit peeved as I do not want to loose settings, saved games, saved docs, bookmarks etc. that are not cloud based.  My phone is well backed up, but there is no way to selectively restore that content.
The Apple Genius basically said I am screwed and try to set it up as a new phone.
Not exactly a glowing endorsement of the new iOS.

  • Project won't open after upgrade to FCP 6

I upgraded from FCP5 to 6, but now my current 107 Mb project file won't open (and neither will recent older versions of it). As FCP is reading the file, a message appears: "The filter 'shift fields' has been incorrectly applied. Do you want to fix?" Whether I reply yes or no, FCP crashes. There ARE some shift field filters used in the project. Should I open in FCP on another computer and remove all filters (A LOT of work and not guaranteed to find all of them)? An older, smaller project file WILL open.
Help! We're right in the middle of a big job!

Did you ever figure out how to open your file? I have the EXACT same problem - my file is 150MB. Big deadline, flew someone out to work on it and now I'm stuck!

  • Old iPhoto project files missing captions after upgrading from OSX 10.4 to 10.7.4

    Hi Everyone,
I'm hoping you might be able to assist me please!  I had created a bunch of iPhoto project books whilst using OSX 10.4 and the version of iPhoto that resided there.  I've recently upgraded all the way up to 10.7.4 and installed the most recent version of iPhoto so that I can finally purchase these photo books.  iPhoto "upgraded" my projects and now all my captions have been replaced by the "ipsum lorem" template text!  Is there any way I can recover the caption text from the hundreds of pages?  Do they reside in a file somewhere on my Mac or have they been wiped away during the upgrade?
Thanks for you time and consideration!
