Project documentation tab - cannot access own templates

We are using SM4.0. In the project template I have created new document types and assigned templates to the document types. When using these to create docuements in the Blueprint Project Documentation tab, the templates are not defaulted, we just get a blank Word document.
The template are defautled for the standard SAP documents.
Any ideas why we are unable to use our custom documents with templates?

It should reflect in project documentation tab ...but some times it will not ...i had a same problem for couple of documentation templates...
The work around is ...once you create document type before saving attach the document template and then save it. instead of creating the document type + save +attach document template.

I wish I could help, but I am in a similar situation.
I need to deactivate it because we are getting rid of the computer it is on and are buying a new one. When I go to Help there is no Deactivate option. The only options are: "Help", "Hide Coach", "Tip of the Day", "Adobe Website", "Technical Support Website", "Frequently Asked Questions", "Check for Updates", "Register", "Download e-License..." (Greyed out), "Return e-License..." (Greyed out) and "About Adobe Visual Communicator 3". I spoke with support through chat and they said my product was no longer supported.

Adobe updates affects my computers documentation, I cannot access it ?

My computer is Sony Vaio laptop - VGN-A317S running XP.
Built into this computer are "Computer information centre and documentation", when I update ADOBE I cannot access these two programmes, a flash comes on the screen asking me to install ADOBE 7 and above, but this is no good ?
I then delete ADOBE update and reset the computer back to its original settings, I then can access these two programmes.
I need to update ADOBE to access some other programmes.
In the past I have tried contacting ADOBE, but they never reply ?
Installed on this computer is "Macomedia flash player Version 7.0.19.0, I know Adobe have taken over Macromedia, but with this programme I can access the two programmes not the new Adobe programmes.
How do I resolve this programme ?

This has nothing to do with Adobe. Your Sony software is simply hopelessly outdated and can't deal with newer versions of Acrobat or Flash.

Project Documentation tab: can you 'freeze' a graph so another can be added and compared against?

I've been using the Project Documentation view recently to quickly compare dc signals against changes that I make to an electrical system. What I'm trying to do is capture a few seconds of a DC signal, stop acquisition, make a change in the system, then capture a few more seconds of the same signal and compare the two.
Project Documentation view is nice because I can drag the graphs onto the document for quick on the fly comparison.
Problem is, I drag a acquired signal's graph onto the document expecting the waveform to 'freeze' so that I can capture another segment of data and drag that graph onto the document for comparison. But once I acquire this second burst of data the first graph captures the live waveform, overwriting the baseline waveform I'm trying to compare against.
Is there a way to screencapture or freeze the graph so that multiple graphs can be stacked within the document form without them all updating?

I’m not sure if you can do exactly what you want. If it were me, I would take the first reading, then save it to an LVM file, then take the second reading, store that to an LVM file, then load the files to compare.

Cannot access documentation

I'm trying to access OEM 10g docs from the following link:-

The browser opens a new window to the following site:-

but then I get an error
"HTTP 500 Internal Server Error. This page cannot be displayed".

Sync Project Documentation with General Documentation

Hi Experts,
We are trying to utilize SolMan 7.1 for the documentation and configuration
We are following release approach for the implementation and as soon as Release 1 finish testing we will start Release 2. Now for this approach we decided below option in SolMan
1) Create Template project for all processes and documentation
2) Crate Implementation project for each release from Template Project. Copy all documents from the General Documentation tab to Project Documentation. During the release-1 we are going to update the documents in Project documentation tab.
a) Now question is how we going to sync all these updated document from Project Documentation to General Documentation?
b) Is there any standard way to check what are the differences between the document in General Doc and Project Doc tab?
SA_PROJECT_UPDATE only checks what are new documents available in Project Documentation tab. It doesn't tell if the same document is updated in Project Tab.
Anyone has any other approach to handle this kind of situation please let me know your thoughts.

I think I have now found the answer to my own question.
From Enterprise edition 7.0 the change manager can link directly to process information, such as implementation documentation, test case etc.
If you want to refer to documents within the CR you can use all documents already stored in the knowledge warehouse.
it seems that this is available through the "Customer Fields" tab in "transaction data" of a change request.

PDF Documents in Documentation Tab

I'm in SOLMAN 4.0 with SP9.I stored PDF documents in project documentation tab in a maintenence project.But when i'm trying to open the same document it is displaying log on screen to display PDF document.My SOLMAN credentials are not working here ...and even i'm not sure what to give here and how to avoid this log on screen.

for implementation project this all limited. if you want to edit, you can do by "copy to project documentation tab",
The functionality for Implementation projects is limited on this tab. You can display, export, and sort documents.
You can copy general documents into your project documentation for editing and use,
with Copy to Project Documentation Tab. You can check to which other structure
elements a document is assigned with Where-Used List.

Thanks so much! I am backing up the entire computer now with an external hard drive - this should be fine right? And surely if I am backing up the whole computer these projects/videos will be backed up too? I wasn't sure how to do this any other way and I am clearly not great with tech issues. Deleting document from general documentation tab in implementation project

We tried to delete a document from gen. documentation tab in an implementation project, since the gen. documenation tab is greyed out, we couldn't do so. The document is a link from a template project, we tried to delete it (by using the trash can icon) from there first, but the system says "the document is still in use".
Does anyone of you know how to delete a document which has been linked to implementation projects based on a template project?

Hi Li,
Here's a solution you can try for your problem.
Go to your template project in SOLAR01and mark the line of the document you want to delete and press the remove button (red minus icon).
Then go to your implementation project and go to the same place where that linked document is. Click on the <b>Adjust to Original</b> icon (looks like two little boxes with two arrows pointing down.) when you click on this icon, you will get a pop-up window where on the left hand side is your template (original) and the right your implementation (current). On the left, you will see a blank line with the red minus icon and on the left you will see the document you are trying to remove. select that line and click on "Adjust selected entries" icon that's in the middle of the screen.
Notice both lines became blank, once that's done, click on complete icon at the bottom.
You're document has been removed from your implementation project.
Note: This is the only way that I have found for this issue. This does not mean that the document was completely deleted from Solution Manager....just the link to your project. If ever in the future you want to link it back, you can still find it with SOLAR_EVAL.

Cannot open project file with write access...

I have seen that this problem has been reported before but have yet to find a solution.
I have my project file in an external hard drive. When I plug the hard drive to another computer and want to save it I get this message:
"Cannot open project file with write access. The file may be locked or you don't have permission to write to this location. Select Save As..."
I don't want to Save As because other projects make reference to this file and also my Encore file will be messed up.
FYI both computers use Windows 7.
Any solutions?

Right click on the folder in Question and select properties. Then select the security tab. Make sure you add everyone to the user list. You do that by selecting edit and then add. Type in everyone in the object section and hit ok. Then select the everyone user and checkmark the Full control. Hit Apply and it will adjust the permissions for the folder and subfolders and files.

Back up all data. Don't continue unless you're sure you can restore from a backup, even if you're unable to log in.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.

Cannot Access AMG Loops on Some Projects

I've just installed AMG's "Make Music on Your Mac" loops into Garageband '09. When I start a new project, I have access to all of the loops that I just installed. When I open an existing project, the loops show in the loop browser, but they are "greyed" out and I cannot access or use them. Does anyone know why that may be the case?

I think that you are on the right track. It appears that I have to actually use the same time signature which makes sense. Yes, I have unchecked the "filter for better results" box in the preferences. The only reason I caught that is that AMG informed me off it in their instructions.
