Project/Financial Analytics- DAC - Include Project - Finance Int sub area?

Hi
I am running the Project and Financial Analytics DAC Load after integrating the Financials and Project Subject areas, I noticed there is an additional subject area called Project-Finance Integration(Oracle R12) Subject area in the Out of the Box DAC, Shall i include the above and run the loads for integrations, Please help.

DAC Execution plan for financial analytics keeps running (OBIA 7.9.4)

Hi Gurus,
I have problem when tried to run full load on financial analytics execution plan. I used OBIA 7.9.4, Informatica 8.6.1 and DAC 10.1.3.4.1.patch.20100901.0520. This runs on Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2 with 6 GB of memory. I set $$INITIAL_EXTRACT_DATE='01/01/2011' so it should pull data greater than $$INITIAL_EXTRACT_DATE, which I believed not more than 3 years data and should be not more than 2 days for loading this data. But execution plan keeps running and not yet completed even after more than 2 days. I have already checked for DAC execution plan log, But nothing I can found from the log.

After certain tasks I found Informatica workflow did not run. In my case after 190 of 403 tasks but sometime 183 of 403 tasks so it is intermittent.

I have tried to bounce the server bounce the dac server and start ETL but problem still happen.
Did I miss something on DAC or Informatica configuration?

in DAC I set same with SID -->connection test successful
3)Have you mentioned custom properties in informatica integration service

5)And check once all DAC configuration once.

After applied above setting DAC Execution Plan for Financial Analytics still take long time. Anything I should try?

Regarding Financial Analytics Full Load in DAC

Hi All,
Today i have started full Load for financial analytics for subject areas : "Revenue, Receivables, Paybles, General Ledger, Cost of goods Sold". The issue is "SDE_ORA_GLBlanceFact_Full", "SDE_ORA_GLJournals_Full" these two tasks failed due Database driven error(Unable to execute the query in Sourcequalifier). Because of these two tasks remaining tasks are gone into "Stopped" status in DAC. Out of 400 tasks only 56 tasks successful, 342 in stopped status, 2 failure. Can anyone please tell me how to resolve the error and start the remaining tasks. Please guide me if am i miss any steps while configuration.

Project Financial Application in EPMA

Would like to know if "Project Financial Application" in supported by Oracle Hyperion EPMA or is it only Classic Planning application has feasibility to have PFP.

I am facing some issues in Workspace because of OS (Windows 7). I am trying to access the App wizard directly from the application wizard URL(http://localhost:9000/HyperionPlanning/AppWizard.jsp). Please correct me, if i wrong, I am creating classic application (Project Financial Planning), why i go to Workspace. Please suggest me. I dont have any other Planning application in my laptop. I am trying to create PFP as first application to do R&D work.

Warning: Premiere Pro "Project Manager" does NOT include the After Effects 'dynamic linked composition' files associated with the project when "Collect File and Copy to New Location" resulting in the incomplete and loss of all dynamic linked compositions in the new project destination ( folder or disc drive ) .. I know this also includes Photoshop dynamic links and assume includes Audition audio files as well.

Put all of your project files in one file. Stop asking PPro to do it for you. It's simple. This is a no-brainer. If you create a linked comp, create it in the same file as your PPro project and files. When you send it to Encore, create the Encore project in the same folder. Works all the time, every time. When you're sure that you're finished with the project for the forseeable future, move the entire folder off your workstation into storage. Do I move a copy of each asset (video clip, image, audio, etc.) into this folder before I import it to my AE or PPro project? Yes I do. Is it overly time-consuming? Not really. I can fly on my machine. Does it beat not being able to open a project later. Oh yes. Yes it does. I'd say I did 50 projects last year this way. When I occasionally had to move a project folder back to the workstation, I had no problems. Everything worked as it did before I off-loaded it. That's because I take personal responsibility for my projects. It's imporatnat that theyt work, especially if I end up having to hand it off to a third party down the road.
BTW, my workstation is RAID 0. If you are using anything less, you need to upgrade. What I'm trying to tell you is that my system works very well. I have not always done things the right way. I have had my share of frustration. The point is that I learned. Now I'm passing that on to you. I use CS5 on an HP Z800 with a measely 12 gigs of ram and a single i7 quad core and the aforementioned RAID 0 configuration and a hacked Nvidia GTS 450. It works quite well. I'm sure I would do even better with another i7, 12 more gigs of ram and a Quadro 4000, but this is what they give me to use.
Additionally, I'm using CS5 at home on a MUCH older HP xw8200 dual dual Xeons, 12 gigs of ram and software-only MPE. Guess what? It works quite well.

BI Apps - Financial Analytics (DB connection DAC and Informatica Designer)

Hi all,
With correct Physical data sources configured in DAC including production JDE database (Oracle) and Datawarehouse, the ETL process can be finished in DAC without error. However, the datawarehouse tables do not contain any records after the ETL.
Thus I open the Informatica Client - Workflow Designer, and go to menu Connections -> Relational. I found that the user name supplied for JDE data source is DEV user, not the production user. Is it the cause that ETL executed in DAC cannot populate records to datawarehouse tables?
Is there relationshiop between settings in DAC and Informatica Workflow Manager even though correct configuration is done in DAC?

Financial Analytics - limiting load to specific set of books

Hi all,
we are running POC for Financial Analytics BI Apps 7.9.6 and we are limiting load into OBAW tables to specific set of books from source EBS (using SET_OF_BOOKS_ID_LIST and $$FILTER_BY_SET_OF_BOOKS_ID DAC parameters) - I was a litlle bit digging in Informatica mappings definition and suprisingly found, that those parameters are just used for load of some fact tables (e.g. W_GL_BALANCE_F etc... ), but is not used to load corresponding dimension tables - like W_LEDGER_D or W_GL_ACCOUNT_D or W_GL_GROUP_ACCOUNT_D - which I would expect to be filtered by specified set of books as well - does anybody know, what tables are filtered by those parameters and what is the reason for not restricting all corresponding tables ?

Hi Michal,
I think you're saying that you noticed that the mappings/mapplets that load some of the tables (W_GL_ACCOUNT_D or W_GL_BALANCE_F, etc) are not using any logic to filter by your "set of books id list."
Have you checked the mappings that load the staging and temp tables?
For example: W_GL_BALANCE_F_TMP, W_GL_BALANCE_FS
The reason you're not seeing the "set of books id list" might be that the logic was applied to one of the staging or temp tables (a source for the _f table). Thus it would be redundant to re-apply this logic.
For example:
Notice that SIL_GLBalanceFact uses W_GL_BALANCE_FS as a source table (and loads the W_GL_BALANCE_F table).
But, SDE_ORA_GLBalanceFact is the mapping that loads the W_GL_BALANCE_FS table. The logic for "set of books id list" is included in this mapping (or actually, mapplet).

Financial Analytics: GL Balance query

Hello,
Does anyone if the project to date DR/CR balances as represented in the GL_BALANCES table in Oracle GL is represented in Financial Analytics 7.9.6.3.
Specifically, I want to know where we have the situation where GL is enabled for basic project accounting, would the project_to_date_cr/dr information load into the data warehouse, do any of the standard reports allow you to query this information, or do we need to license Project Analytics for this information or build a customisation?

Hi John,
The GL_BALANCES fact table in Financial Analytics (W_GL_BALANCES_F) and it's related aggregates do not contain project_to_date_cr/dr measures; the simplest thing would be to add them by extending the ETL.
Project Analytics does provide seeded measures for project costs and revenue to date, but these will not be in double entry format as per GL, and you would obviously need to be confident that Projects and the projects segment in the GL reconcile perfectly.

Financial Analytics - segment and FSG hierarchies

Is it possible to define 6 segments and then additionally define FSG hierarchies in the same implementation of financial analytics ?
We have 6 segments defined in our Oracle EBS application so I have set the gl_account_segment_config to include those segments.
I have also modified the BMM to use the correct segment_lov_id for all 6 segments. This all works correctly no problems.
I am now setting up the FSG hierarchies required by the business.
I have modified file_gl_hierarchy_assignment_ora.csv to include 4 of my FSG hierarchies...
Unfortunately I do not see these coming into the database tables. I have the following set in the DAC -
Oracle - Extract FSG hierarchies -
Oracle - Extract Value Set Hierarchies - inactive.
Any help greatly appreciated....

See My Oracle Support note 1050724.1. Engineering have stated that using the two hierarchy methods is not supported.

Unable to Open Project Site Access Denied Issue Project 2013

This issue is happening to select projects and select project managers, they can view certain project sites but receive the error on other projects. After some extensive testing
it looks like if the PM is the owner of the project plan they are not getting added to any of the synced groups for the project site. I can change the project owner to any another PM and it processes correctly and adds them to the PM synced group on
the Project site. As soon as I make the original PM the Project plan owner again the previous PM gets removed from the PM synced group and added to the Team member synced group, the way its supposed to work. However the PM with the problem never
gets added to any group. I have to manually add them to the non-synced Owner group on the project site so they don't get removed from the synced PM group the next time the sync runs at midnight.
As I stated it is happening on select project plans and select PMs. I have tried replublishing the project plan via Project professional and the web and the results are the same.
If I create a new project plan and assign one of the PMs with the issue to the plan everything works correctly. We noticed the issue a few weeks ago; most of the plans with the issue are several months to a year old so they were working correctly until
recently. They had also made PM owner changes prior to the issue on most of those plans and everything worked correctly.
If anyone is experiencing this issue and has a fix please let me know. I am trying not to open an MS support ticket if possible.

I believe I've found the fix for this issue. After opening a ticket with MS support and not getting anywhere with this issue I decided to do an in-depth review of all the Project and SharePoint 2013 CU's starting with December 2013 to September 2014.
To my amazement buried inside the July 2014 CU was a hotfix for this issue described almost word for word. (I will list all the relevant KB's at the end) I contacted my support engineer inquiring about this hotfix and he stated it wasn't relevant because
the "Synchronize Project Web App permissions to Project Site" was not failing or even generating any warnings in our Prod or Test environments. I stated that is not always an indicator as ULS doesn't always catch all relevant errors.
I informed him that I also found a second hotfix pertaining to the same issue released August 2014, apparently the first hotfix in July didn't totally resolve the issue and a second hotfix was released. He was adamant that this would not resolve
our issue and he requested or production databases because he was unable to replicate the issue in his test environment. The reason, you may wonder, is because he was at a higher patch level that our farm.... Obviously! His farm had the most current
CU which included the hotfixes from July and August. Apparently he didn't see the flaw in his logic.
I decided to install the September CU on our test farm. Low and behold that fixed the problem, even though MS support stated the hotfix was not relevant to our issue. I learned a long time ago to take MS support comments as suggestions instead
of gospel truth, this isn't the first time they have confidently given me erroneous information.
We are currently doing further testing to verify that this CU didn't break something else. Unfortunately these rollups are not GA and Microsoft is very clear that you should only install them if the hotfixes pertain directly to your issue.
Finding the hotfixes was a chore as Microsoft loves to create multiple KB's for the same thing and then nest (bury) them so you have to dig through four or five KB's to find the relevant fix. I'll save you the trouble and list them below.

Unable to Open Project Site Access Denied Issue (Project Manager)

We got an issue that one project manager is having 12 projects, in that she can able to view 5 projects-- project sites but remaining 7 projects --- she is not able to open the project site (access denied) error is throwing when she try to open.

OLTP: JDE E9
OLAP DB: Oracle 11g
We were trying to adjust the # of prune days for an incremental load, when we discovered the change was having no effect.
Our situation - JDE*
Looking at the parameters in DAC, we found that the incremental condition in the SDEs is:
date >= *$$LAST_EXTRACT_JDEDATE*
In DAC, this parameter expands to:
TO_NUMBER(TO_CHAR(TO_DATE('@DAC_$$TGT_REFRESH_DATE'), 'DDD'))+(TO_NUMBER(TO_CHAR(TO_DATE('@DAC_$$TGT_REFRESH_DATE'), 'YYYY')) -1900) * 1000
If one keeps digging,
+$$TGT_REFRESH_DATE = @DAC_TARGET_REFRESH_TIMESTAMP in custom format, MM/DD/YYYY+
Compared to EBS*
Now, if I look at the *$$LAST_EXTRACT_DATE* parameter (used in EBS SDEs)
It expands to:
+@DAC_SOURCE_PRUNE_REFRESH_TIMESTAMP in custom format, MM/DD/YYYY+
Conclusion and question*
Obviously the Julian date conversion is required in $$LAST_EXTRACT_JDEDATE, but apparently the prune days are being considered in $$LAST_EXTRACT_DATE and not in $$LAST_EXTRACT_JDEDATE.
An obvious fix is to use @DAC_SOURCE_PRUNE_REFRESH_TIMESTAMP in $$LAST_EXTRACT_JDEDATE, but I don't know if that would have any side effects. I'll test it.
I'll raise a SR with Oracle, but wanted to check if you guys had seen this before.

Cannot open project: the folder for this project cannot be found cs4

I am using Encore CS4 and I get the error "cannot open project: the folder for this project cannot be found"
Having searched the forums I can not find a solution for when the project folder has been deleted.
Can someone tell me the solution to this issue.

If you deleted the Encore directory, you cannot fix this. You'll have to start over.
Encore creates this folder structure:
Root or some other Folder
MyProject.ncor (the Encore project FILE)
MyProject (the Encore project directory)
Other Folders for the Encore project (e.g. Cache, Sources)
You can get the "the folder for this project cannot be found" in various ways.
There have been two recent threads in which the user, by accident or on purpose, changed the folder location or name. You can fix this by renaming the folder correctly or moving it back (or moving the Encore project file to the correct relative position).
Folder was renamed. If you name the folder "MyProjectX" Instead of "MyProject," the project file "MyProject.ncor" can't find it.
Encore project file was moved - or Encore directories were moved. If you move "MyProject.ncor" to some other directory or drive (including inside the folder "MyProject"), it can't find the directory - it is looking one directory level below where the project file is located.
If you delete the Encore project directories, the stuff that Encore uses that projects menus, motion, etc, are gone. While many of its instructions are inside the project file itself, many are not. Some of the deleted material might be recreated (e.g. trying to fake Encore into accepting a copy of a menu), but most cannot.

Financial Analytics Reports in Local Currency

Advise needed to help in configuring BI Apps such that the Financial Analytics reports (GL, Payables, Profitability & Receivables) show the transaction values in local currency i.e. INR instead of the default global currency USD.
I have changed the source parameter values in the DAC Container Setup while loading the data from an EBS R12 instance. The following source parameters values have been changed to INR from USD -
$$GLOBAL1_CURR_CODE (for the document currency)
$$GLOBAL2_CURR_CODE (for the local currency)
$$GLOBAL3_CURR_CODE (for the global currency)
However, the Finacial Analytics Reports do not show any transactional values for the selected Ledger (having INR as the global currency). The data is populated in the Local Closing Amount, Local Opening Amount etc columns of the Fact - GL Balance but no data is populated in the Closing Amount (Global), Opening Amount(Global) etc columns.
Please advise to resolve the above mentioned localization issue in Financial Analytics.
