Project Freezes on Loading

I've completed an entire project in After Effects and I saved it and was going to import it back into Premiere the next day. When I went to open it up in After Effects, it froze while opening on like 33%. I was fored to redo the entire project in After Effects and this time I decided to just export to .mov in After Effects and the application froze before even starting to export. I saved before this. When I went to open it up again, after restarting After Effects, it froze AGAIN, this time on 43%. Different project file altogether, but still froze. It's getting extremly annoying. Every other After Effects project opens without problems, just these two, which happen to be the same overall project. Any response is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Some plug-ins and effects often take a lot just to render depending on what you're using, it's often taxing. What I would recommend is either turning off the "eye" or visibility before saving on any taxing effects that may slow the computer, or reducing the preview quality to a lower setting (Quarter for maximum save) before you save and exit. That way, when you open it up again, you can just turn on the eye to see your effects one at a time without AE loading it all up at once. Turn them on, render it out, and you shouldn't have an issue.
If the memory isn't the issue, then it could be a variety of things. If it's a corruption issue, then it's well worth the effort to fix and prevent it from happening to the rest of your projects. I'm afraid I can't say much for "rescuing" your AE files, only preventing or narrowing down the problems. AE programs freezing is sadly vague issue and could be anything. I wish you good luck!

Project doesn't load anymore

Hey everybody,
I'm actually working on a mid-complex project with several afx-comps (using dynamic link) and a bunch of Photoshop-graphics editing in Premiere. Everything worked fine until this morning. When I started my machine, no graphical media or afx-comps load up. I tried auto-save-files and older versions aswell. Still the same.
I already relinked the Photoshop-datas manually, but the more serious problem is the dynamic link to After Effects or to be more accurate:
The project doesn't load up anymore. After Effects freezes and has to be killed. Not even older versions or auto-saves. A new project works fine.
I'm working on a MacPro (late 2009), 12GB RAM, Bootdevice: Intel SSD, Projectdatas: internal software raid1, Videodatas: internal software raid0
(backup on nas via timemachine). No disc errors or hardware failures found so far.
Softwareversion Adobe CS5.0.3 Production Suite
Footage: Canon xf305 (but this works fine!)
Maybe you have any idea? Thanks a lot!

Just an update:
With disc utilities I repaired the permissions.
I reinstalled cs5 production premium.
I updated it to the actual version (flash occured an error, but the other ones were fine)
I opend the project: no links to most of the media.
I relinkt all media - except the dynamic links to After Effects. That just doesn't work.
I saved the project on a different drive with a different name.
Opend the new project and - again - most of the files didn't link again! Missing more than 10.000 links to jpegs, psds, mxfs.
I opend the new and the old project on another mac - same results.
I think, repairing permissions with disc utility doesn't affect Adobe's software (Apple says that some 3rd Party Applicaton might not be affected.)
I found a workflow for repairing permissions in the case of updating-failure, but I didn't try that, as I don't want to make things worse.
Is there a way to repair CS5 permissions "internal"?

Logic freezes while loading Space Designer presets

Logic freezes while loading Space Designer presets when I am working on my template and songs. If I create 1 track in a new empty project there is no problem with Space designer.

And with Logic 8, I am stumped as to how to find all of my samples and virtual instruments that I used in Logic 7...Where is the "folder" that I drag my Sampler Folder alias into? Any clues?

AE project freezing on start-up

I have a project which froze when applying an effect — probably one too many — I tried adding magic bullet looks to an adjustement layer over a particular layer with knoll lights added as well. Anyway, I tried to to step back or delete the adjustment layer but I just got the wheel of death. I gave it ten mins or so to see if AE it would work it out but it didn't so I force quit.
The problem now is I can't re-open that project, it just keeps quitting when trying to load it. It seems to freeze when trying to load the particles layer. I've tried un-installing particluar and magic bullet, hoping it would skip trying to load them, but it hasn't helped.
All I want to do is get back into that project and delete those effects, but I can't. The project panel opens as does the timeline, I can see all my layers and assets, I just can't get at them to turn off or delete the offending effects.
Is there anyway of loading a project but without loading the effects or loading it in wireframe?

OK, crisis over.
If anyone's interested or has the same problem this was resolved by copying all assets and the project onto another machine (luckily this happened at work where we have a few). I knew this other machine had no plugins or 3rd party effects installed and I also thought it might help booting it form another machine with a different processor etc.
As I hoped would happen orignally, I got an error message that all the effects were missing, which I ok'd, then the project managed to open fully. Then it was easy, turn off the offending adjustment layers and precomps, turn everything to wireframe previews and save as. Now it opens fine on the original machine.

Extension Manager CS6 freezes when loading extensions

Extension Manager CS6 freezes when loading extensions
When launching Extension Manager CS6 it starts loading extensions but totally freezes when the last 30 percent of the loading extension bar is still unaccomplished. It is not possible to close the window, not even with the task manager. I have restart the computer to get rid of it.
My OS is Windows 7, 64 bit. The most recent versions of the entire Adobe CS family are installed, freshly updated, including the Extension Manager CS6.
To trace the cause of the problem I tried to create a log file in the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Extension Manager CS6. I logged in as administrator and wrote in the Command Prompt Window:
echo > ExManLog.YES
The log file was created but contains nothing but "ECHO is on".
A possible cause of the problem might be that I have two installed active version of Ajatix Advanced CSS Drop Down Menu, which is an add-on to Dreamweaver. The first version is the free one, the second is the full paid version. I would like to deactivate the first one since which might make the Extension Manager happier. But the only way to deactivate it that I know of is to use the Extension Manager. Catch 22.

Following your instruction I have tried to remove both my versions of the troublesome DW extension (Ajatix Advanced CSS Drop Down Menu). Which in my case meant that I deleted the following files:
the files com.ajatix.AdvancedCSSMenuLight.mxi, com.ajatix.AdvancedCSSMenuLight.mxi_air and com.ajatix.AdvancedCSSMenuLight.zxp in C:\Users\<My UserName>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Extension Manager CS6\EM Store\Dreamweaver CS6
and the files ajxcssmenu2.3.0.mxi, ajxcssmenu2.3.0.mxi_air and ajxcssmenu2.3.0.mxp in C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Extension Manager CS6\EM Store\Dreamweaver CS6
In the hope of cleaning out everything from this extension I have also deleted the following files:
AJXCSSMenu.chm, AJXCSSMenu.dll in C:\Users\UpdatusUser\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Dreamweaver CS6\en_US\Configuration\JSExtensions

Every time I thus get rid of the Ajitex files the Extension Manager seems happy and loads the only extension I currently have left (Adobe exchange). However when I reinstall the Ajitex extension, the Extension Manager behaves in the same bad manner, freezes after approximately 70 percent of the process of loading extensions. Same thing when I remove this extension and try to install another from Ajitex (Email Spam Blocker). It seems to install all right but afterward the Extension Manager freezes when launched.
Don't know what to do now.

"project cannot be loaded it may be damanged..."

I am using Premiere CS6 on a Macbook Pro and am in the middle of editing a huge project. I went to open the project today and got this error.
"the project cannot be loaded it may be damaged or contain outdated elements"
I have no idea how or why this is happened.
PLEASE HELP!
What I have tried:
1. Starting a new project and importing the entire project. I get the same error message.
2. Starting a new project and importing just the sequences. Premiere just stalls.
3. Cleaning the Media Cache.
4. Uninstalling then re-installing Premiere.
5. Importing the project into After Effects. I get an error message.
6. The auto-save files open, but the latest one is quite old.
7. Duplicating the project file.
8. Moving the project file and file structure to a new directory.
None of these have worked!
Any other ideas?

Same problem here. It's happened twice in the last few weeks. I tried all the same things as you did, except re-installing. I also tried to repair the file with xml wrench, but it didn't help. The first time I lost about 6 hours work - ouch.
What seems odd to me is the lack of current auto-saves. Could there be some connection?
I'm on Windows. The problems occurred only after the latest update. The only difference I can see compared to other projects is the size. This project is about 50MB, due to some warp stabilization.
What complicates things is an error message from the BIOS when I started the computer each time the error happened. "overclocking failed" This apparently is a generic ASUS error message, and I think it might not be related to this, as it has occurred other times, even when there is no overclocking. Maybe coincidental.

I have contacted apple support and they tried to do a few things... to no available.
With my limited knowledge of file structures I assume that the header file must be corrupt.
Is there a 3rd party utility that can decompile and fix the file structure so it will load properly. I've been working on this project since june and would hate to have to redo the whole thing again.

Java applet freezes while loading on Firefox on Mac OS 10.9

I am using Mac OS 10.9.4 with Firefox 32 and Java 7 update 67. The java applet freezes while loading for the first time. On double clicking, it loads successfully. Once the applet gets loaded then it loads successfully until the web-page is refreshed or cache is cleared. I don't see any error message or any errors in the java console logs. Any help on this issue, apart from the double click work around? Any permanent solution?

This delay can also happen when Java has been unloaded from memory and needs to be reloaded from disk and (re)initialized.
You may be tight on available (free) memory if this happens all the time.

Safari freezes while loading

I am running Safari 4.03 on a G4 Mac with os x 10.4.11.
About once a day, Safari will freeze while loading a page. The stop loading button does nothing. Eventually I have to force quit. Anyone know anything?

I'm kinda a noobie to a mac so forgive me if this is lame. I was reading this post and i have kinda the same problem except when i go to open safari it just flashes and says that it can't be opened. I have reset safari and emptied the cache and it still won't open. Although sometimes when i go to open safari if i click on the top sites button in the far left corner when trying to open safari it will open that way and let me use safari to surf anywhere i propose to search. Any answers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Photoshop CS6 Bridge freezes on loading image into Photoshop

CS6 Bridge, text in the Folder window freezes following loading of an image from Bridge into PhotosShop CS6. Bridge is render useless. Closing Photoshop frees up Bridge. Bridge does not refresh the type in the folders window and occassionaly leaves partial tiles of images in the content window. This occures esch time an image is loaded from Bridge into Photoshop.
Photoshop CS6 & Bridge were updated at 11:47 AM PST today 2012-12-07

I have the latest video drive for Win-7 64x.
Thank you for the tip, in searching for the driver info I discovered under "Start" > "All Programs" > "Nvidia Corporation" > "3D Vision" > "Disable 3D Vision". By disabling the "3D Vision" in this "All Programs" menu cured the problem. Kind of a strange place for a "switch".
Sure hope that this helps someone else as this was a very frustrating problem!

I just installed arch on my Smasung Q45 laptop. When booting the installed system is was freezing at:
Loading UDev events
I checked which module was causing the freeze and found out it was the "video" ACPI module. So, I blacklisted it in rc.conf and now everything work. However, I have no video ACPI now of course.
Any suggestion on how this can be fixed?

Elements 11 Organiser freezes when loading

When loading Elements 11 the Organiser freezes, Edit loads OK. I have followed all the suggestions in the Forum and I have found that when setting up a new account, it works OK but the original account doesn't work. The Forum suggests ask the administrator, but I haven't got one. Help please.

You mention stopping active file monitor, but you don't say anything about stopping autoanalyzer, which is far more likely to cause this than anything mentioned in your post. (organizer preferences>media analysis, shut off everything except face recognition, if you use that)
Incidentally, the chat line et al are not "ours", since this is the user to user forum and we are just other customers like you, not Adobe employees.

Quick way to reload "Project" after "Nothing loaded" message?'

Now I come clean that I have fat fingers and accidently click or click on the wrong places on my primary storyline now and again!
At least 3 or 4 times a day while simply dragging/moving/shortening clips in timeline, I accidently click on something and it causes the VIEWER window to go black and say "Nothing loaded" so when I play my timeline, my project is accidently not loaded as it was a second ago. First off, what the **** could I be clicking for this to happen? 2nd, the only way I know how to fix this is my stopping my momentum, scrolling back into the Libraries and double clicking again the Project I was working on to once again reload the video so I can see what I'm doing.
Is there some sort of quick shortcut to go back to the last project that was loaded when this happens? This never happened in FCP7

I'll try this after i do this accidentally again, but I'm not sure this will work as the Project is already loaded, I mean I have the time line in front of me and i can skim through them as usual, but the issue is the VIEWER/Canvas preview where I see the video from my timeline is not loaded. If I were to click the arrows, I'd have to go back to another project, then forth to my existing that is already loaded right?

Idvd project freezes in prview

My iDVD projects freezes on image 66 of 70 and some images jump to the next instead of the transition. I had some exellent advice of Duane and followed his advice. I've also reinstallled iDVD, all to no avail. Anybody got any further ideas, please.
Since I posted this I realised that when it freezes, after a wait, up pops the box telling me the modem has connected successfully. Any connection do you think? (pardon the pun, unintentional)

Don't have a specific answer to your question but my standard list of things to do first...
Run MacJanitor (free download) to do all the Unix Cron Maintenance scripts.
Run Disk Utility (Applications -> Utilities) and repair disk permissions on your start up drive (typically your internal drive). Also verify any other drives mounted on the system.
Run Preferential Treatment (free download) to check for corrupt/damaged application and system preference files.
Run Cache Out X (free download) to clear all system and application caches.
Reboot your Mac.

Larger Project Freezing

Hello,
we use robo religiously for work and have somewhere around
500-800 Projects using it at the moment. Now a few of these are
Pretty large pieces and robo generally tends to handle them well(
minus the occasional delay from the time all of the topics/db info
is loaded to when I can actually start working). Generally one of
the biggest projects we've had is built and maintained by two
people(myself and another). It is normally done in two parts ie.
partner works on a project and i work on the merged project inside
however my partner has been hospitalized and i am now updating both
portions. The issue is, Yesterday I opened up the project he had
been working on and added quite a few things i had an issue with
pulling in a word doc which caused robohelp to Close. I then
re-opened the project and imported( an html version) with no issues
and for the most part had to redo the changes id made to the toc
and such. I was then able to generate and publish perfectly fine so
i closed and quit for the night. But when I open the project today
it loads topics/db then just goes to not responding.. It had been
doing this for 1.5 hrs now and I just tried closing and re-opening
but it looks like the same problem. We are currently set up as
follows. Projects on NAS / Published To App Server. The strange
thing is in the bottom left my status says "done" Does anyone have
any insight into this? Thanks in advance

Two people working on the same project rings network bells.
Are these projects under source control, when pulling them from the
network to your machine is fine or are they just save on a network
drive? If the latter, that is the cause of lots of issues.
If that is not it, then back up the project and take a look
at the topic on my site about opening projects. You might like to
try trashing the CPD and XPJ files in the manner described there.
