Project in SPRO

Hi,
I have created a new Project in SPRO to dump all the new trasnport request related to a rollout. But when I went to SE10 to create a new request i could not see the the project.
What setting did i miss in the new project creation?

SPRO: Activating CTS project

Hi Gurus,
I was wondering if you could help us on this message during project activation in SPRO.
A project piece list has already been assigned to the project

Diagnosis
You want to assign a corresponding CTS project object list to project GWAPO in project system SAP_IMG_PS in the current client. However, this object list has already been assigned to the project. The object list is called SID_P00006.
System Response
The function terminates.
These are the background details.
Before system refresh
1.     Projects in SPRO were put in a single TR (transport)
After the refresh
1.     TR above were imported back
2.     Checking SPRO, projects do exists as before
3.     Problem: however, cannot select or no values found in Project field when creating a new TR?

I was hoping you did. Would've been easy to simply reactivate the project.
Could you please try "Delete Project Assignment" to one of your TRs under "Assigned CTS requests" on your existing project. This would confirm if the project is indeed assigned to the TRs and thereby your piece list.

Interface Project System to Catalog OCI

I am trying to implement SciQuest within Project Systems SPRO > Project Systems > Material > Interface for Procurement Using Catalog (OCI) and I am difficulty navigating around SciQuest site. The actual punch out works but when I click on 'Add to Cart' an IE session opens. Has anyone experienced this type of behavior in other catalogs? Is there certain configuration that the vendor (e.g. SciQuest) has to adhere to since this is done directly in R/3. I am familiar with SAP SRM which is web based and this just works, however, when I do this in R/3 it is acting as if it was web based as is not.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Object locking in SPRO

hi,
I m facing one issue in the SPRO transection, I have created one project named APPZP1 in the project IMG(SPRO), I have logged by my User Id - shanti and was trying to access the node "Define,copy,delete,check plant" in project APPZP1.i got the popup with this message "Data is locked by another user". we are sharing one project among 4 functional people, so if one person is using that project next person can't use that......... Request you is there any other way so we can use simultaniously the same project....

sorry for the miscommunication...Actulay I have created two project named APPZP1and UPS1 in the project IMG(SPRO), I have logged by my User Id - shanti and was trying to access the node "Define,copy,delete,check plant" in project APPZP1.i got the popup with this message "Data is locked by another user". I have chacked with the user but he also working on the same object but from the another project IMG(UPS1). even though we are working on the differnt project we are getting the error. Request you is there any other way so we can use simultaniously same object from the different projects.

Regenerating an IMG project's scope

Hi All,
is is possible to regenerate an IMG project's scope. It doesn't tell me I can't but after trying I get a popup saying "Generate the Project IMG or Customizing view in Project Management" when I try to open up the IMG project in SPRO.

After ur satellite system has been connected to solution manager u can Generate an IMG Project and an IMG View from Solution manager - T code -SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN under system lasndscape tab and IMG projects ,once the IMG is genereated u can then view this in ur satellite system

SPRO stands for SAP Project Reference Object. It is used to configure the setting as per your client requirement by using the standard setting present in the system. This where you can do all the SAP configuration work.
Entering SPRO (Customizing: Execute Project) as a transaction code in the R/3 application opens the customizing environment.
There you can customize the R/3 system using the SAP reference IMG (Implementation Management Guide) or you can define projects for customization: e.g. adapting the reference IMG to the needs of your company and/or subdivide the customization task into different sub projects.
SPRO is the customizing transaction in SAP R/3. This transaction can be configured

Difference between SPRO and SPRO_ADMIN

When I create a project using spro_admin, it is not listed when I use SPRO, wonder whats the difference between these two and when is it appropriate to use either

the differences are as follows:
SPRO_ADMIN - Customizing: Project Administration
The classical "old transaction" to define customizing projects.
This is were before the times of SAP Solution Manager the framework for the customizig project would be defined, such as:
- what is the general scope of my projects (in terms of wich applications do I need to customize)?
- what are the valid project standards?
- who is working in my the project team etc.?
SPRO - Customizing: Execute Project
Once the project has been defined in SPRO_ADMIN, you can perform the customizing in this transaction alongside the so-called project IMG (= Implementation Guide). Alongside this guide the SAP system is adjusted and documented to the customer-specific settings. The actual customizing work will be performed making use of the project standards defined in SPRO_ADMIN.
Why you did not see your project in SPRO: Here you see only your list of project favorites (unlike in SPRO_ADMIN where you see ALL customizing projects contain in the system in which you are working). What you can do is include this project in your favorite list with the respective icon Add to worklist right below the table view.
TODAY: With SAP Solution Manager
transactions SPRO and SPRO_ADMIN are implicitely used.
That is:
1. for SPRO_ADMIN you do no longer have to generate the customizing projects manually for every single SAP system but you do this centrally from SAP Solution Manager using transaction SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN (System Landscape tab, IMG Projects tab)
2. for SPRO you do no longer seperately start this transaction but from within the SAP Solution Manager transaction SOLAR02, Configuration tab.
Template, implementation and maintenance projects are NOT created in SPRO_ADMIN, they are solely created in SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN.
I hope this information helps you to better differenciate between the named functions.

Hi ,
SPRO stands for SAP project reference Object , when you execute this transaction you will find an IMG - which is ther for managing the implementations .
So in IMG you can define your own projects and set the scope of the project .
SPRO is used for making necessary customizing in the system for the KDS - Key data structure and Configurations .
Like for Example - Your vendor master is a master data but in vendor master the payment term is a KDS key data structure , so if you want to add a new payment term then you will have to execute the T code SPRO and then navigate to the option of creating a new payment term and define there .

Status report template activation and assignment

Hi,
when I try to create Status report after selecting the Document folder and clicking the New Status report in Status Report tab of cproject, an error message is appearing as
'No templates for status reports have been entered for the project type' .
Where can assign the templates for staus reports?(SPRO or somewhere)
Also We have configured ADS already and able to generate Approval Documents. Can anyone guide this problem?

Hi Bharathi,
First check whether ADS is installed on Java stack. For this goto SA38 transaction and give report name FP_TEST_00 and execute it. Leave the fileds as it is and execute it. A dailog box will pop up asking printer name. Give it as PDF1 and check preview.
If it is working fine, check if any forms are active for the project type you have taken.
For example, if you took upgrade project, goto spro > cprojects > basic settings > forms for printing and for status reports > Execute activate forms per project type.
Select Your project type and double click on PDF print form. If you are not able to see any entries, goto new entries and select DPR_STATUS_REPORT_AIF and check the boxes Active and Status Report.
Revert if any issue.

I have created a project in spro and assigned that project as a zrole..I thint that zrole is the master role.Is it correct? If so can anybody tell me how to derive roles from that master role..

to create derived role, create a role as normal & in the description tab put the name of your parent role in field "Derive from role". Enter your org restrictions and then go back to your master/parent role and push through the object level changes from the Authorizations tab of the master role (I think the button is titled "adjust derived")

CProjects to PS integration

Hi
I have been working on cProjects to PS integration for client server which runs on ECC6. Both cProjects and SAP objects are on the same server.
I have done required configuration settings for the scenario, also for CO scenario maintenance view determination for my project type I have selected Multilevel controlling (Structure Element, Automatic), but still PS project from cProjects is not getting created.
Is there anything am I missing ????

Hi Niraj,
I checked your documet all config will correct just use following path
It important to define a project number which fits the customizing seetings of project edition mask in project
Step : Spro --> project system -->Structure -->oprative structures --> work break down structure --> @ Define project coding mask
In that check the aviaable project Number
The following characters are available for editing:
X for alphanumeric characters
0 for numeric characters
special characters to organize the project numbers
e.g Project coding key : SUN
Coding Mask :-000-00-00
Then you define the project defination as : SUN-100-01-00
When you define project number in c project use this mask code ( check which mask code are define in your system and use that)
and same will be created in your PS with same as project defination

Pfcg Authorization for ois2

Hi friends,
              I want to give authorization for OIS2 transaction without directly giving it in the PFCG role assignment of transaction... so I searched for the roles for this t-code ois2 but there is no specific role for this, as this is done in the SPRO.
             Can u please help me, is there any other way so that I can give authorization for this transaction... This there any other way to assign a particular transaction which belongs to SPRO...

          I m not able to get the work done... I have created a project, and have assigned the project to a role as you helped me. But I am not able to make it....
          I like to tell u what I have done...
1. created a project in SPRO and saved it.
2. created a role in PFCG and assigned the customizing auth.
3.Generated the authorization profile with full authorization.
4.Assigned a single user to it.
            But the user is not able to access the OIS2 t-code/ or the path from the IMG...
I think I m missing some steps but not sure what is it.. can u please help me. Do I have to do any customizing in the project which I have created.
