Project is one beat off, consistently

I have created many projects and my current one is all arranged correctly. I have beats start at 1.1.1.1. but during playback, the audio starts at 1.2.1.1.
Have you ever seen or heard of this? Not sure if this project has a bug or or what or if I screwed up a setting...
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

There are 9 tracks including a rewire out to Ableton Live. And for the records, it does not do it on other projects (especially ones that I have that seem to be more sophisticated than this one.
I'll check out the "spl not in sync" as well...Is this an error code or term that you are using? If it is an error code/message, I never received it.
Thanks much!
Ahhh.. sorry, SPL is the Song Position Line that scrolls left to right in Logic's various windows. You use it all the time, it follows measures/beats.
I guess this could be a rewire problem. What instrument/application is making the first sound? It it Ableton?

  • Client submitted Projects/Enhancements/One-Offs

Greetings amazing Project Server 2013 Gurus!
Our institution will have MS Project Server 2013 with SharePoint 2013 in the next two months.
I need to start designing the project processes now to get a head of the game so......I will start with the most basic because I can do almost everything else.
How do I go about creating a client initiated submission form for everything that is not break-fix. How will the requests get routed? From the client perspective is there a "Where is it in the request pipeline" tracking?
Is it possible to create a specific form that will help identify specific types of projects/enhancements/One-Offs(standalone tasks)?
If this is possible for the client (project requester) side then how detailed can I get with criteria/routing/ect?
    Thanks,
    Bill

    Hi Bill,
As far as I understand, your need is to design a custom workflow with stages and phases. From the submission to project approval, planning, execution and closing, you can propose at each phase/stage web forms with project attributes, adding eventually approvals
to go forward to the next stage.
Project Server has various reporting features that will give you an overview of your project pipeline based on your attributes.
You also can define various project types (EPT) to which you can attach specific governance such as WBS, workflow, project site template, webforms (called PDP).
To resume, I'd say that implementing Project Server requires a good knowledge in Project and Portfolio Management but also high skills on the product itself. I'd strongly recommend that you take support from one of the expert firm on Project Server.
Feel free to ask for more details, links or anything. Since your question is quite high level, my reply is so but I'll be glad to provide you links, either technical or about methodology.
    Hope this helps,

  • Putting multiple iMovie projects onto one DVD

I was wondering if there was a way to put multiple iMovie projects onto one DVD using iDVD?

actually none of those options worked probably since the movies were in IMOVIE2
Ah... You didn't say it was an iMovie 2 project. iMovie project is different from iMovie HD.
I want to store the image file from the dvd's off site as I don't have the space to archive the projects - it seems I can't do that as it copies over to the server but shows up as a 4kb file - any suggestions how I can do this?
I might be wrong (since I don't have iMovie 2), I assume iMovie 2 has the similar QT "reference" movie as the iMovie HD. This "reference" movie is not a "self-contained" (a QT term) movie, i.e. it only has instructions of the makeup of the "real" movies. You cannot use it to archive. If you want to offload your movie from your computer, you should copy the entire iMovie 2 project folder to an external archive.

  • Moved iMovie 09 project from one computer to another - now timing is wrong!

    Hello,
I wanted to copy some Events and Projects from my Dad's older MacBook Pro to my iMac. So I just copied the event folders (from <Home Directory>/Movies/iMovie Events/) and the project files (from <Home Directory>/Movies/iMovie Projects/) to the corresponding folders on my iMac.
I then opened up iMovie on my iMac and saw that the Events and Projects were there. So far, so good.
The first problem I noticed was when I exported one of the projects from my iMac using QuickTime. The duration of the resulting .MOV file was about 30 seconds shorter than the duration of the project!
I watched the Project in iMovie, and found that the clips in the Project were 'cut off'. For example, the clip in the Project would say it was 10 seconds long, but when you played the Project the clip was only 7 seconds long.
How could this be? Is the speed of the Project somehow tied to the computer that created the project? i.e. perhaps the speed of the processor could impact this? I highly doubt it, as it would make it impossible to move projects from one computer to another.
Bottom line - the identical Project file on my iMac (with the same underlying events) will produce a different exported movie file than the exact same Project file on my Dad's laptop. Specifically, my version will be shorter and the clips will be cut off.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated....

The macrumours link just telss you how to move the events which is relatively straightforward.
Alot of advice just seems to rest with leave the projects on your internal drive as they don't take up much space.
However, http://karsten.schluter.googlepages.com/im08tricks has a description of how to move the projects and then 'fool' imovie into where the projects are stored.
Not very flexible but it does allow you to 'clear' your macbook yet when you restore the sym-link file to the right place and restart imovie you can reconnect to all your old projects and events without yellow triangles of death appearing.
By the by apple needs to sort this out as archiving old projects and events together and preserve the editing is a really basic requirment I think.
PS anyone found out how to merge projects yet? Another basic function that seems to be lacking.

  • Color's timeline is one frame off on occasion

Hi there, odd problem I'm having.
Show shot on RED, cut in Premiere (about 4 mins long), then baked out to ProRes 4444 at its native framerate (23.98), re-cut, then sent to FCP. Now, there were some weird errors there, but I worked around them okay. Made sure the timebase and framerate are 23.98, sent to Color, all seems well, except on occasion the cut is one frame off. The project is also at 23.98 in Color.
Here's the kicker. If I unlock my track and use the Roll tool to fix the annoying error, then sometimes the frame will double up (it will seem like there's the same frame at the end of one clip and at the beginning of the next), or the last frame of the previous clip will become the first frame of the next, creating a different problem and solving nothing.
Ideas on what might be going on?
I'm monitoring through a Matrox MXO2 mini, out from my expresscard slot, if it makes any difference.

I am having the same problem right now with a feature film that is a single baked quicktime (apple pro res HQ 1920 x 1080 23.976 fps) for each scene.
I take the scene and open it in Final Cut Pro, I make the sequence settings automatically fit to the clip.
I cut it up into the seperate shots in the Final Cut timeline. I send to Apple Color.
Then in Apple Color, I see the the edit points are sometimes one frame off (not all of them are off). In all these instances the edit point is rolled one frame forward.
If I color correct and then send back to Final Cut Pro, the new color corrected timeline also is one frame off based on the new footage and xml that came out of Color.
    Help!
    Using Final Cut Pro  7.0.3
    Color 1.5.3
If I look at the format of the original one piece quicktime in Final Cut Pro it says 23.98, and when I open the specific compression setting it states the exact 23.976
In Color it states 23.98 in project settings and if I look at the format of what it is rendering out to Final Cut Pro, it says 24fps. If I open footage rendered in Color (with project settings of 23.98) in quicktime it shows it to be a 24fps clip.
But it is already wrong in the locked timeline of Color. That just after sending from Final Cut Pro. Before any grading, rendering, or sending
That would mean that something is wrong with the xml file Final Cut Pro is sending out.

  • Merging "projects" into one

Another problem I cannot seem to find an answer to.  I have created 8 seperate projects (using Premiere Elements) to make sure I did not loose any time cut off any single projects.  I wanted to merge these "projects" into 4 seperate projects.  However, when I try to import the projects (prel) into the organize window using "get media & PC files" PE says it does not support the file type.  WHY NOT?  PE wrote it, why doesn't PE support it???   If I am doing something wrong or if there is a procedure I am not aware of please advise.  Thanks.

With your 8 sub-Projects, I'd think about naming conventions to make things very easy on you. Given 8 total, with 2x each of 4 combined Projects, I'd look at something like 01_Film_01.AVI, where the first is your Project 01 and the second number is where it falls in that Timeline. Here, it would be first. Now, if you know your sub-Projects' names and your combined Projects' names intimately, this might be overkill.
When I am Exporting for Import to Encore, I make sure to accurately name each Sequence (think mini-Projects in PrE0 in PrPro and then make sure that I rename each Button in my Menus. When I get to Encore, I know that Button "Liz_at_Home" will Link to "Liz_at_Home" in the Timeline Panel. Keeps things simple.
    Good luck,
    Hunt
PS - one of the great features in PrPro is the Sequences, which are like mini-Projects in one Project. I'd love to see this trickle down to PrE, as it would do just what you, and many others, want - combine Projects.

  • I have been working on an iMovie project. I turned off my computer and when I turned it back on to continue working and entire section of about 80 photos was gone. The music attached to these photos remains. Can I retrieve this work?

I have been working on an iMovie project. I turned off my computer and when I turned it back on to continue working and entire section of about 80 photos was gone. The music attached to these photos remains. Can I retrieve this work?

I am at Snow Leopard and have only played a bit in IMOVIE - so can't speak for Mavericks - but -
In general as I work a lot in Photoshop - when you are happy with something save it and continue on - If you have Time Machine Running and you want to try things next that may or may not work - force a time machine backup - that way the version you are happy with will be available for 24 hours (and wish this was a setting one could extend)
If you turn off your mac - or end a program without consciously saving something you may lose what you worked on.
If IMOVIE did not ask if you want to recover what you were doing your update may be gone - but try posting new question - asking about automatic backups in IMOVIE and how they work.

  • How to move an uncompleted iMovie project from one hard drive to another?

I want to move an uncompleted iMovie project form one hard drive to another. What do I move to make sure that all of parts of the project: movies, photos, sound, are moved?
    Thanks, Bruce

    Hi,
You can deploy the ADF Project as an ADF Library Jar file and reuse the taskflow from that jar file in another BPM Application.

  • I have an extensive aperture library on my computer's hard drive and I want to break it up into separate smaller libraries on external hard drives.  How do I take projects from one library and add them to another one?

I have an extensive aperture library on my computer's hard drive and I want to break it up into separate smaller libraries on external hard drives.  How do I take projects from one library and add them to another one?

    Coastal,
Frank gave you the exact answer to your question.
However, I would like to ask if you are indeed asking the right question.  Do you really want different libraries?  The implications are that you have to "switch" libraries to see what's in the others, and so that your searches don't work across all of your pictures?  If so, then you asked the right question.  If not, you may be more interested in relocating your masters to multiple hard drives so your library gets smaller, instead of breaking up the library.

  • I Movie 09 can I combine projects into one project?

Can I combine 3 seperate IMovie projects into one so I can burn a short film to DVD?
I had three different people shoot 3 different sections of a short for me, now I want to put them in one project together in order and burn a DVD.

you can copy (copy all) the clips from one project and paste them into another clip, but music and titles will not come with that. If you export one project as a .mov file and then reimport it into iMovie as suggested, that will easily work, but you wont be able to edit that movie's music or titles.

  • What is the easiest way to transfer a large imovie project from one computer to another in a different location.

What is the easiest way to transfer an faairly large HD imovie project from one computer to another in a different location. Can you export to drop box? Will the other computer need the exact imovie version?

    OK it depends.
If you have a finished movie, you can SHARE/EXPORT MOVIE and create your final movie. Then, depending on the size of the finished movie, you can transfer via dropbox or similar service. Ninety minutes is a very long movie for iMovie, but it may work for you. I would suggest 720P to keep the size down.
If you need to transfer the entire iMovie Project so it can be edited in iMovie at the other end, then you need to transfer the project and event assets to an external hard drive and get the hard drive to the other location.
Directions are here. Follow the directions for 1) Moving or copying Project to external drive. Then 2) Consolidate Media.

  • How to move iMovie project from one computer to another

I have been working on an iMovie 09 project on my desktop at home.
Now I want to work on the same project on my computer at work.
How can I move the project from one computer to another?   What I've already tried was to make a duplicate copy of the project and then use a thumb drive to move that to another computer.   It didn't work.
    Thanks for your help.

    Hello James Snedeker,
After reviewing your post, it sounds like you want to move a file to another disk. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.
iMovie: How to Save Projects to Another Hard Disk
To copy an iMovie project to another disk:
    1. Quit iMovie if it is open.
    2. Locate the project folder in the Finder.
    3. Drag the project folder to the other disk.
Note: You must move the complete project folder, intact, to the other disk in order to successfully copy the project. The project folder has the same name as the project listed in the iMovie window. This folder includes the iMovie project file, as well as a Media folder, which contains all of the clips associated with this project. If you don't copy all of these items, the project may no longer be readable in iMovie.
Once you have copied the project, try opening it in iMovie to ensure that it copied to the other disk successfully.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
    Have a nice day,
    Mario

  • Project from one mac to another

    Hi
How dose one take a project from one mac to another.
On one of mac the fotage has been cut as a ruff cut and I would like to take that edited to another mac the fotage is on both mac. Is it as simple as a edl list and reconnect the fotage on the other mac.
tips please as this is the first time I'm going to do this
thanks for helping out going from 5.1 to 6
    trevor

Just copy the project file to the other Mac, and open it. Reconnect if FCP asks you to.
If you just want that single sequence, right-click the sequence in the Browser window, and choose File -> Export -> XML (version 3). Copy and import that in FCP on the other Mac. (File -> Import -> XML)

  • I have no problems copying iMovie Events from one Mac to another, however, how can I copy iMovie Projects from one Mac to another?

I have no problems copying iMovie Events from one Mac to another, however, how can I copy iMovie Projects from one Mac to another?  Any help will be appreciated.  Thank you.

This should give you some good insight, I'd probably store them on an External HD on the old machine and then just drag and drop to the new machine.

  • Copying an Iphoto Album&Project from one Mac to another

I have Iphoto 08 on both a macbook running 10.4.11 and IMAC running 10.5.1.
I was using the macbook to download and store all pictures until I got the IMAC.
I copied the Iphoto library to an external harddrive that is now attached to the IMAC and am accessing that library(option) key when launching Iphoto.
I was traveling with the laptop taking and downloading a lot more photos, while my wife was creating some albums and calender projects on the IMAC.
Now that I'm back I want to bring the new events from the laptop on to the IMAC or save the albums and projects on to the laptop so I can reback up the entire photo library (~18,000) photos. Is there an easy way to copy an album/project from one iphoto library to another or would it be simpler to copy new events?

You can do this best and most easily with iPhoto Library Manager
