This is very interesting topic and I think most of Oracle customers need answer to this question, please if any one know how to use project management server with OCS or OCS workspaces guide us to the solution.

Project Mangement Tools -- several questions

I just purchased a Mac Pro and extra internal hard drive and have the following PC compantibility questions:
1. Is Parallels still the best way to run PC product on a Mac (I think I have a Parallels 5 disk somewhere around here.)
2. Is Microsoft Project still not obtainable on the Mac, i.e. I will have to run the PC Product.
3. Are there any project management tools on the Mac that export a Project file (so that PC users could also work with it)?

Project management tool in SAP itself like Microsoft Project planner

Hi Experts,
I need to have information on the project management tool available within SAP.
Is there any project management tool like microsoft project planner available within SAP.
I heard that SAP solution manager does it. Please let me know whether it is right or not?. If correct could you please provide the relevent document or let me know how could I do that in the SAP BI 7.0 or in the solution manager.

HRMS Integration with third party Project Management Tool

Hi All,
We have plans of procurring a third party Project Management Tool which needs to be integrated to existing Oracle Financials. Project Management Tool needs employee information for its functioning.
a)Is there any API available for this purpose which exposes HR data to any third party tool?
b)Can anyone suggest what should be the approach for such integration?

What 3rd party tool are you going to be using? You might get lucky and it might be something that Oracle has bought recently. Does this post mean you are using Oracle Projects? If so, you may want to post this question in that forum as well. At least you would limit the audience to projects oriented customers, so might get some better replies there than you will here. Food for thought.

Are there any project analysis tools to optimize a project?

So, our devs use Coverity (http://www.coverity.com) to scan their code to look for problem areas they can refactor. My boss asked me if there are something out there like that but for documentation projects. I know RH offers the Tools | Reports, but I'm worndering if there are Adobe or 3rd party tools out there that can analyze a RH documentation project in the background to provide you with a list of items to fix or improve. I'm also looking for something that checks a documentation project for duplicate paragraphs, that we could then rewrite as snippets.

Is anyone aware of tools like this that works with RH projects?

I am not aware of any tool that does what you want with RoboHelp but I wonder if there are such tools more readily available for Word. If there are, you could generate a printed document and work with that.

I don't think there is such a tool or you can't download it.
Could you tell me from where MS Project and its documentation can be downloaded?

Nope, there isn't any feature support for this conversion in Workshop.

Project Costing Tool

Hello,
Does anyone have any thoughts concerning if sharepoint would be a decent platform to create a cost estimation tool? Using a combination of Access, apps and potentially custom code. What I envision would be a database of standard charges for tasks and materials.
This would be structured in a nice paged workflow which would walk a person through considerations that need to be given for the project and as well as pulling in cost information about the necessary tasks for the project. File uploads for maps would also
be a nice thing to have or, maybe associate a project folder on a sharepoint site. Let me know if you have questions or need clarification...
The end goal would be a PDF printout of the project assumptions, costs, etc... I would also want to be able to save the project and assign it to a person or people where they could manage it until it might get "approved".

Configure project in Tools/Option panel NETBEANS IDE

Hi all
I'm newbie with netbeans and i do not know if it's the right place for asking.
Actually I have a project that has some configuration attributes.
I want that those attributes are attributes set in the Tool/Opion Panel of NETBEANS IDE.
What I need is to use NETBEANS APIs for creating a embedded configuration panel or sub panel in the Tools/options panel.And there set those attributes.

no actually i want to create other fields in th tools/option panel for setting specific project parameters.
I need to modify NETBEANS api for doing that but actually i do not know which is the api.

im curious as to what other people are currently using for
project management, wire framing, versioning, etc in their
development environment. we are a coldfusion mx7 shop w/ ms sql.
our applications adhere to the MVC structure and modeled using
fusebox 5.0.
my company is currently looking for solutions available for:
wireframe flip / uml software;
bug tracking / ticketing software;
file versioning;
time tracking management;

For versioning you cannot do better than Subversion(svn) it
is just a complete God send and free to boot, plus if you use
Eclipse (if not why not) then there is a Subclipse plugin which
makes life easy too.

HP Application LifeCycle Management - URL for use with another Project Management Tool

I'm trying to find a way to get a ALM Requirement URL that will work with other applications. The URL from the COPY URL option (when right-clicking on the requirement) works for e-mails but I can't seem to get it to work for another project management application (Daptiv). We would like to insert the QC Requirement link to another application where the user can access the requirements directly when clicking on the QC hyperlink.
We have HP Application Lifecycle Management Software Version 11.00 Enterprise Edition.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

As Abhishek mentioned we dont need a calc manger or EPMA to migrate classic planning applications. You just need to log into shared services, expand file system and take a file system export, paste the export to the destination environment, now use it as a source and perform an import in the shared services of destination server. Tools for UCCE/CVP Project phase?

Hi, there are plenty of customer phasing/ post project wallboards, reporting tools, admin tools out there.
My compnay is looking into some UCCE/CVP Project phase tools which can help the engineers in deisgn, deploy, call flow dev, testing etc phase of a project.
Any ideas/ suggestions please?

Project Management/Bug Tracking tools...

We are growing from a single person team to a team of 5-6 people and it’s getting harder to keep the project straight, so I want to look at project management tools…
Specifically I want to have a bug/new features tracker, the ability to develop test cases for the bug/new feature (plus regression tests) the ability to interface with CM software (Subversion) and of course scheduling…
There are high end commercial products out there (Microsoft has MS Project and it’s Sharepoint product has bug tracking capability) and some open source (Jira and SpiraTeam for example) but does Oracle have anything to do this (especially one that able to work within the JDeveloper/SOA environment?)
Any suggestions are appreciated..

It integrates 3rd party tools such as Bugzilla, JIRA, Microsoft Project Server & Rally Software into the JDeveloper IDE - letting you assign tasks, keep track of related files and integrate with Subversion, CVS etc...
